The west is paying for their arrogant, no matter on CV or Floyd.

The tea kettle is blowing steam out of the spout! This is just like Charlottesville. Not a very 'fine person'.
Bjorn Tomention
The West ? That is a very inciteful comment when most of the rest of the West is living in peace compared to the EAST.

Attempted murder.

Trump and his hatred is a disease, just like CoVid-19.
garymalmgren
Where ar his tattoos?
Blacklabel
considering this is an interstate highway and not a sidewalk or a blocked off city street, yeah I would be wondering what was going on as well.
Busby
I wonder if the truck driver had his Trump 2020 banner and Confederate Flag waving as he drove into the protesters...
I'm sure his license plate read "MAGA Baby!"

A tanker truck drove through thousands of people marching on a Minneapolis highway
Attempted murder?
It did not appear any of the marchers were injured when the truck raced towards them on I-35, blowing its horn, sending protesters scattering before coming to a stop
Apparently not. Maybe he he just wanted to scare them? If he wanted to kill, he wouldn't have blown the horn? Whatever, he needs to be locked up as well as the people who were beating him. Once he was subdued, there should not have been any beating, just like in George Floyd's case. The people who were beating this guy are guilty of doing the exact same thing they are protesting.
Blacklabel
maybe he was even driving down an unblocked multi-lane expressway, doing his job, driving his work truck.
Then out of nowhere a large group of people blocking the road appeared. Its quite understandable that he would blow the horn and try to avoid hitting them. He was repaid for that by being taken from his truck and beaten. Which is probably what he was afraid of in the beginning, and shows he had reason to fear that happening to him.
Bjorn Tomention
When the anarchist creates chaos chaos happens, some people are very fearful of the situation when confronted by angry people blocking roads shouting, some waving iron bars & throwing things, and so some fearful people become confused and are not sure to run , charge or stay put and risk their life.
LA riots some years ago live TV showed a truck driver hauled from the cab of his truck and killed while at the traffic lights by an unruly mob.
Blacklabel
At the end of it all who is in the wrong?
people walking on an expressway designed for interstate commerce, or a driver who is driving his work truck down a road, not expecting to see people walking where he is lawfully driving?
people are not allowed to walk in the middle of expressways, its actually against the law.

If this was happening in HK now then the tone of the news could be 360 degrees different!
Kuya 808
Maybe this driver was thinking about Reginald Denny. Remember him?

Im still trying to process the Dem madness; impeachment that took attention away from the corona pandemic, then the jump to the corona (what happened to that? is the virus dormant now?) and now to this situation
It seems the common denominator is its all Trumps fault
stormcrow
If I was driving on a U.S. interstate highway (2 high speed lanes going either way), I'd freak out too if a mob or hundreds or thousands was suddenly directly in front of me. Coming from a city area, I've been taught to never get out of my car if possible by strangers and that my car is not just my best friend but my best defense in such situations.
Had I been the truck driver in this case, I guess I'd have tried to turn my rig around and try to drive back the way I came, but I'd be driving the wrong way on an interstate highway. The guy may have also been worried about his cargo and his job had he lost it.
Maybe the protesters/rioters should just stay off of the interstate highways. They have no business out there.

Just Like the Anarchists...
Blacklabel
I-35 expressway has 3 lanes on both sides and a 70mph ( 112km/hr) speed limit in some places.
If police werent so busy fighting off Antifa maybe someone could have blocked it off for the actual protesters.
Also, why is this truck driver bleeding if he didnt hit anyone with his truck?
Artemis Rogers
Considering the reasons the people are protesting, he is lucky he was merely beaten for his act of attempted murder. He should thank them for his life. What a fine bunch of protesters to spare him!
taj
Have you all watched the video?
And have you seen Brandon McCormack - poor little tough guy claiming "two black African Americans" beat him out for shouting "All lives Matter!". In fact, he went out looking for trouble, with his hunting bow, wearing his forarm guards, and started aiming his loaded compound bow at protesters, who then piled on him. Mostly pretty pasty Salt Lake City dwellers. His Facebook page shows what a racist, barely literate thug he is.
Zaphod
The article is clearly misleading. If he had been driving full speed into a crowd without warning, of course there would be many dead. Just look at the images of jihadists doing exactlh that in Stockholm, Berlin, and London.
Obviously he was honking and driving relatively slowly. What are these people doing on a highway anyway?
TheLongTermer
Im no psychologist, but Im wondering how much of this has to do with just good ole human behavior, at a primitive level. Being locked down for weeks, then released and going nutso.
I post that because, almost none of these protesters have any direct connection to the murder of Mr. Floyd
Where is MSM doctors and pundits? Could use some advice. Dr Sanjay? No commands now...wash hands stay home shelter in place?
TheLongTermer
so much for stay at home wash hands wear a mask. nobody in the photo is complying.
TheLongTermer
is the virus on a vacation or...the experts and authorities are taking a break...trying to figure out whats going on.
what happened to the 100K deaths and Trumps responsibility?

Did anyone think that his foot might have slipped off the clutch?

Apparently.... social distancing and Corona Karen shaming for going outside, now it is time for some race riots. And how convenient that all the information about the unfolding Obamagate now is conveniently out of the news.
oldman_13
A true black eye and world embarrassment on Trump's watch.
TheLongTermer
Yeah I remember that. That was about the time gangsta rap was becoming mainstream.
Some of those guys are now pillars of the community, and MSM loves to interview them, they are quite wealthy
The same dynamics, police brutality Rodney King..I remember it all like it was yesterday
Interesting thing, Axel Rose used to sing about how terrible LA was, seems nothing has changed...)

This is the video if anyone wants to check it.
The dude clearly didn't expect people to be on his side of a still open public highway.
You can make your own opinion on what happened. But it looked like he slammed on the brakes. Even has his hazards flashing. No one with intent to kill is going to be doing that.
TheLongTermer
@Zaphod,
all the hand sanitizer made my skin very dry...hope it was worth it.
the jump from social distancing, losing your income to...lets go nutso and burn
everybody elses property down...wow.

Very fortunate that none of the people on the highway were injured or killed.
I’m sure you don’t know.
Get a grip on history, guy.

As straight as the freeway looks on a map. There is a curve leading up to the bridge. Its also sloped. High jersey wall running down the center. This section of the freeway has a speed limit of 55MPH. In both directions, it is 4 lanes wide leading up to the bridge and widens to 5 lanes with wide shoulders just before the bridge. It is massive. I drove over this bridge daily for 35 years going to from work. However unlikely it is, given the trucks elevated seating height, it is possible the truck driver did not see the crowd before he was right on them. It is illegal to walk on freeways here. Drivers don't expect to see pedestrians on the freeway.
Its been locally reported (although unconfirmed) the truck driver did not drive around any road blocks to get on the freeway. If thats true, why wasn’t it blocked? How can that happen if the protesters were being allowed to assemble on the interstate.
Interesting fact about this bridge. In 2007 it collapsed into the river during rush hour. 13 people were killed and 145 injured.
sunfunbun
No. No one thinks that.
What? No. He endangered people's lives, and he could have killed someone, horn or no horn.
Raw Beer
@ksteer, thanks for the link. The article above makes it sound like he was plowing through 1000's of peaceful protesters. But in the video it does appear he simply wanted to go through a relatively empty highway, and perhaps sped up when they started attacking him.
ZombieNemesis
Locally reported: Several of the protesters intervened and protected the driver from additional harm before the police arrived. They may have saved his life.
Blacklabel
dont you endanger your own life standing in the middle of oncoming traffic on a freeway? didnt you choose to stand there, knowing it could cause you to get hit by a truck?
elephant200
Hong Kong style protesting! Obstructing the traffics!
timeon
I am not sure why JT omitted this crucial piece of information reported in the local press, which immediately clarifies the situation: the governor said the freeway was closed and the guy entered illegally, so here is the answer to the last 20 or so posts.

Reviewing additional local news reports from 5 hours after the incident. They reported traffic cameras were analyzed and the driver was already on the interstate and did not drive around any barriers. Unclear if that means he was stopped somewhere waiting within the closed area. Additionally they are reporting he was on his horn for ~21 seconds.

The above picture made me think this is a news from Haiti

So people on here saying that those rioters smashing, looting, robbing, bashing, destroying, creating havoc and anarchy etc because they have been in lock down and social distancing and are now going nutso and others around them are properly down is an excuse.
NZ , France, Italy, Japan and a few other countries have also been in lock down and social distancing but are not going nutso and I dont see anyone here in Tokyo Properly down for it either.
It looks to me that some are using the injustice of the police killing as an excuse for trashing their surroundings and the surroundings of others because they feel it is their right and they have no respect or sense of how to behave. More than likley there are some inciters stirring them behind the scenes, likely for political gain or monetary gain.
