dispute over subsidies granted to the European planemaker was leading to "a table tennis match

Trump's blindly mole whacking in between rounds of golf, tweeting and looking out for his own businesses. Foreign leaders and businesses know one way to get Trump's support is to book rooms at one of his properties, and they don't even have to show up so they don't have to worry about getting bit by bed bugs or getting food poisoning. Corrupt businessman, corrupt politician who's in way over his head.

Re plane makers, given all the ways Boeing's deep inside federal government, are they now considered to be quasi-public?

Wednesday's decision by the World Trade Organization (WTO) left Scottish whisky makers, Spanish winemakers and French cheesemakers fuming as the U.S. tariffs targeted products from countries in the Airbus consortium.

They should just turn to China. I'm sure they would be happy to buy more of these products.

Scottish Whisky. He mother must be proud.

Quality stuff like Scotch whisky, European wine and cheese can find a market anywhere in the world. (Hint - Japan could do with a lot more at reasonable prices)

It's the American consumer that will miss out, suddenly having to pay more for stuff.

Given that this WTO dispute was initiate on 6 October 2004, your comment is the epitome of ignorance.

Really, maybe you need to read the article above again....I won't say anything about ignorance...

U.S. President Donald Trump hailed a "nice victory" on Thursday after the United States got the green light to place tariffs on European Union goods in a dispute over EU aircraft subsidies.

Really. I'm really sorry I gave you too many dots to connect. Hint: Trump had nothing to do with the "victory," ergo your continued OCD vis-a-vis Putin and imagined master puppetry is, well, just sad. I guess I should pity you.

Well, sorry you didn't take my advice and read the article again...maybe you would have seen that though the WTO sided with the US, it was up to the Trump administration to decide to implement the tariffs - and Trump did....see below...

Washington said that, after 15 years of litigation, it would impose 10% tariffs on Airbus planes, a move that could hurt orders by U.S. airlines, and 25% duties on French wine, Scotch and Irish whiskies, and cheese from across the Continent.

One more crossed off his Master Putin's list....

The euro zone is struggling now, with tariffs Europe will be struggling even further. The eurozone can get these tariffs removed simply by stopping the subsidies.

The EU should put in place tariffs targeting Donny's base like the Chinese have.

Vote for a moron and you suffer the consequences.

"There's going to be no tit-for-tat retaliation," Navarro said. "Under the rules of the WTO, which we're complying with here, we get to do this and they should not do anything back."

A surprise is lying in wait for you Peter. Did you mention 'complying with rules'? Noooo!
