Trump apologists will somehow make this about the Dems/libs being divisive and spreading hate.
Blacklabel
What in the ad isn’t true? That person was illegally in our country, murdered policemen and said he would do it again.
Anyone allowed to illegally enter our country couid do the same thing as we dont know who they are. That’s why we have legal immigration instead so we can do background checks and vetting. They check Japanese wives for visas right?
Truth aversion is the only reason to be against this.
PTownsend
Trump's a master media manipulator, an expert at marketing, a slimy politician, as slimy as any seen in modern America.
Trump knows which segment of his base those ads appeal to.
Trump and the GOP continue to lower the decency bar in US politics, which has long been low. And it's likely nadir has yet to be reached.
Trump and the GOP are sinking the US: just as they promised.
Blacklabel
So it’s “divisive”to distinguish illegal alien criminals from legal immigrant non criminals?
Seems that’s a distinction that should be made
Chip Star
Nope. Wanting the truth is the reason for being against this. It implies that democrats are responsible for these crimes because they want open borders, which simply is not true.
You cannot honestly claim that Trump bears no responsibility for the MAGA Bomber and synogague shooter because of Trump's rhetoric but say democrats are responsible for the crimes in this add.
Vernon Watts
Blacklabel: Don't waste your breath on this site. People like Chip Star, PTownsend, et al. only like to spew hate about the President; no facts, just crap. President Trump specifically stated the caravan people will be detained at the border--no more catch and release--and their cases will be heard expeditiously. But see, SJWs (like most of the posters on this site) just want to let everyone in the US and damn the consequences...

Blacklabel
I don’t have to say anything-the media always presents it as true before anyone speaks. CNN has decided it’s a “racist ad”. I want the facts so that I can decide it myself when I see it. CNN isn’t the arbiter of what is racist. They love it when Don Lemon says racist stuff.
News didn’t use to try to give you the answer they presented what happened and left it up to you.not anymore in the time of Trump.
They say Trump responsible for everything in the world then reverse the “logic” to claim Dems responsible for nothing.
Alfie Noakes
Trump's in full-on Mussolini mode now. How long before he starts bragging about the trains running on time and demanding his head be on the stamps?
Belrick
Actually Chip Star, he's spot on! Me and several friends get a good laugh from the commentary that bashes Trump. Not because of what's said, but because of your continued ignorance of facts!
Blacklabel
Don Lemon claiming white men are the evil terrorists of the world, total support from CNN. It’s garbage. The guy has a white boyfriend so is he a terrorist sympathizer? Got em.
Blacklabel
I still want to know what part of the ad is not factual. But no one can tell me just scream “racist” and bash Trump.
Truth hurts.
Blacklabel
Let me guess,it’s “taken out of context”. That’s the latest liberal complaint. Like when the actor said there will be blood in the streets if Republicans win the midterms.
He meant it a totally different way, in another “context”.
Chip Star
Point out a fact I'm ignorant to and provide a cite supporting your assertion. The issue with Trump supporters is they make wild assertions without supporting evidence, then deflect or obfuscate when called out.
Kabukilover
What’s wrong with the ad, Blacklabel? It defines a group of people by one bad example. That is called a logical fallacy. Ironically, this racist ad comes immediately after a lone white antisemitic American citizen murdered 11 Jews and wounded others. So are all white men dangerous. White nationalists certainly are.
Chip Star
My post of 7:46 was clear about what wasn't factual in the add: Democrats don't want open borders andthey are not responsible for these crimes.
PTownsend
I admit to having thought Trump was a lowlife in every way, long before he ran for office. I still do.
I think I've provided many links showing FACTS about his illegal, immoral, dishonest history and tactics. If his supporters say no facts, apparently those links have been ignored.
It is a shame that truth - made up of facts - has been ignored by so many in Trump's base. Instead of finding truth - made up of facts - many in his base are willing to accept his and his fellow .01%ers LIES.
bass4funk
Oh, I know some really slimy politicians that are a lot worse.
Ahhh, and which so called segment would that be?
As long as the Democrats continue their vile attacks on the President, he’s going to punch back, so it depends on what these guys want.
Not quite sure, judging by how the Democrats have been acting based on their TDS it would seem the GOP are not the problem.
CrazyJoe
This is all the Republicans have left.
Everything else they promised has gone up in smoke, or in their pockets.
Racism and fear is their last card.
Chip Star
Trump is hands-down the slimiest politician we've had in a long time.
This add appeals to the racist segment of Trump's supporters. I would have said ignorant, but that's his entire base.
Yes, the democrat and their "vile" truth-laden "attacks" on the president.
Our Deflector-in-Chief isn't disappointing today.
Goodlucktoyou
I would be more worried about him ordering soldiers to shoot to kill on the Mexican border Israeli style. That is worse than some tv ad.
lincolnman
One wonders how low Trump can go, and the answer is "there is no floor" - he has been tutored by Roy Cohn and Vladimir Putin, so he has no off switch to his ability to denigrate, insult and conspire.
And as we see in these comments, there are maybe 25% of Americans that are in a cult-like trance, and will approve of anything he does; shred the Constitution, praise white supremacists, or cavort with porn stars and Playboy Bunnies. He can do no wrong, just like Kim Jong Un or the Ayatollah...
The only hope we have is Robert Mueller, the victim recently of an amateurish far-right smear that went wrong quickly, which showed how desperate Trump supporters are of what he has uncovered.
Elect a Democratic House and Senate, let Mueller's report be heard, and then impeach this Imposter and send him back to his reality TV show gig...
bass4funk
The Democrats have a few things that they’re good at whining and playing the race card. These people have implemented some of the most racist policies that have for years hindered and have been disastrous for minorities, they desperately always want their votes and after that, they shove them to the wind. Their constant use of race and fear and politicizing the race issues especially within the last 2 years has been sickening and all this because they can’t run on their policies pure and simple.
Laguna
Well, if Republicans don't run on racial demagoguery, what are they going to run on? Seriously - What?
Schopenhauer
I wish I could watch FOX NEWS in Japan. We could until about 15 years ago. I also miss Rush Limbaugh on AFN. I like wrecking ball Trump.
Chip Star
This perfectly describes conservatives.
bass4funk
As in the famous words of Democrat James Carville- “It's the economy stupid”
and that’s the only thing that really matters.
Sneezy
Trump is now declaring that he was indefinite detention for migrants in concentration camps at the border. Fascism. And the Republicans love it.
TumbleDry
lincolnman: it a reality TV show. Soap opera even. The goal is to offend at it works.
SuperLib
This doesn't bother me that much. I can't imagine anyone on the fence would be swayed by a racist ad. If racism appeals to you then you were already voting GOP anyway.
At this point they are just solidifying their anti-minority stance, cementing it in the minds of young voters who will replace the older voters. They are selling their future for a chance to win today.
I already predicted that the GOP would try to win on immigration fears since they don't have any accomplishments to run on so this is no surprise. Looks like I was right.
bass4funk
or the Democrat party and when you have smart adolescent kids like Don Lemon saying that White men are the problem?
That will happen to both parties.
Funny, thr Democrats are trying to force people into believing that seeing a caravan of thousands of so called asylum seekers is just a normal thing and nothing to worry about. These people are hippie to their DNA core and this half brain run idea is the very thing of playing the race card the only thing that liberals have, they can’t run on any substantive policies because they don’t have anything other than race and fear and hatred for Trump. Pathetic. Vote Red on Tuesday.
Jimizo
Not necessarily. As you posted, non-partisan historians regard the Bush 2 years as a success despite the fact that they were an economic disaster. They don’t think so and you trust them more than approval ratings.
This kind of tactic from Trump is very divisive. I remember him retweeting dodgy videos from a racist group in the UK. The UK PM was understandably unhappy and Trump responded by sending a bitchy tweet to the wrong Theresa May.
He likes this kind of stuff. I suppose this video has the merit of being true unlike the dodgy videos he retweeted, but it’s clear what he’s appealing to.
Very ugly indeed.
bass4funk
No, it’s the only thing that matters and healthcare would be a strong second.
So do the Democrats that’s why you don’t hear them running on the economy, because they don’t know how to make money, but they sure know how to take it.
sunfunbun
Economy takes 2-4 years for a policy to be analyzed for effectiveness. Trump's self called successful economics are from the Obama's policies, not his. When the effect of Trump's tariffs, taxes and deregulation hit, it'll show a terribly inept Republican ideal of making the rich richer to trickle down economics, and it never works. The scarier thing is the deregulation the Republicans always allow, which, of course, led to the craziness of the 2008 financial disaster of subprime mortgage that led to a government bailout and a possible world financial system collapse, after 8 years of Bush.
The years following Trump could be even worse.
Jimizo
I just don’t get how your non-partisan historians claim the Bush 2 years were a success despite the collapse of the economy. You agreed with their evaluation of him. Clearly for you and these non-partisan historians, the economy isn’t all that matters.
Clearly this kind of tactic from Trump proves the economy isn’t all that matters. He’s playing to something more visceral.
This is very dark.
bass4funk
No, it does matter to me and most Americans. Nothing dark, deceptive or sinister about it. Democrats aren’t good at making a thriving economy in the private sector, but are masters at taking it.
browny1
After watching the ad, it is of course blatant sensationalism, matching a psycho criminal with all illegals.
All political groups sensationalize or over-emphasize, esp pre-election times, but this is classic fear mongering to appeal to and broaden your base, with an unfounded message - the others will let you be killed, we will save you.
But no mention of other issues by the Rep media machine, where people are being killed everyday. Like why not have an ad where they expose the dangers of guns - almost 3,000 kids killed already this year. Yes 3,000 kids alone.
But no that cuts to the heart of the nra loving fraternity. Let's talk about how these rapists and murders are gonna come across the border and destroy your lives. Be afraid, Be very afraid. But guns - hey 2nd amend!!!
This ad represents exposes much more than the repubs think it does. It exposes them.
ClippetyClop
Unfortunately for you, this is nonsense; Democratic presidents have a far better economic record than their Republican counterparts since the war. Fortunately for you, a Democratic president is always just around the corner to help keep your private jet purring.
SuperLib
It really does come down to soft conservative men making decisions based on fear. They are afraid of this caravan. They want to ban all Muslims from entering. Liberal mobs terrify them.
To compensate, they are constantly armed, and they constantly follow alpha males who say they will protect them.
Joe Blow
What's sickening is how the Dems will take in anyone, so long as they vote 'Dem'.
Same thing happening in Europe; political parties are importing voting blocs. They don't care about the ground-level repercussions because limousine liberals live in gated communities (where having a wall suddenly isn't racist and divisive). Chappaqua could use some diversity.
bass4funk
Not really. Especially after all the luster and over taxation gloss is repealed
https://www.investors.com/politics/editorials/democrats-socialists-ocasio-cortez/
rainyday
If that was the only thing that really mattered then presumably Trump's approval rating wouldn't be 40% and Republicans wouldn't be massively behind in the polls for the midterms.
bass4funk
And rightly so.
With very good reason
But Indonesians, Jordanians, Turks can enter the country, so try that lame Muslim ban argument is played out, try again please? Take two!
What?
commanteer
I am constantly amazed at how regularly the so-called "liberals" in the US constantly set up these straw man stereotypes about the right or conservatives that have no bearing on reality. And then they hang on to these cartoon images for dear life, regardless of all evidence to the contrary.
Like Don Quijote, they are all fighting imaginary enemies, which is why they keep losing adherents.

Your link has no relevance to your claim that Democratic presidents are bad for the economy. It’s not even closely relevant. Was that a link to what was in front of your eyes at that exact moment?
Try this one champ, it’s relevant

If you take away all the smoke from the fuming anger of the dems, you can see that these ads are true, to the point, and relevant.
Oh is the ad true, to the point, and relevant? The ad claims that “Democrats let him into our country," and that “Democrats let him stay.”
Here are some things are actually true.
1) Bracamontes was deported during the Clinton administration for drug offenses
2) Bracamontes returned and was deported in 2001 during the Bush administration
3) Bracamontes was right back in the U.S., one year later, still during the Bush administration, where he stayed for the remaing six years of Bush's presidency and five years under Obama's until he was apprehended after killing two deputies with an AR-15 in 2014.
Why doesn't the ad mention the AR-15 he used but more importantly:
Why did Republicans let him back in after he was deported twice??? Why did Republicans let him stay???

It's hilarious watching conservstives push outright lies, be inaccurate, deflect, and obfuscate. You can't have a conversation with them because you spend all your time keeping them on point and refuting their falsehoods.

@bass4funk
What part of this ad is Republican's platform for the economy?
bass4funk
Carville and his extreme knowledge even as a Democrat knew and expressed that the economy is everything.
plasticmonkey
Carville is not featured in Trump's ad. Keep up, please.
Trump's ad is not about the economy because most Trump voters have not really benefitted from the economy. Trump needs to hook people by making them feel scared and angry.
The ad is another version of The Birth of a Nation.
SuperLib
Does Trump make you feel safe from these people? He is a very strong man.
bass4funk
He’s a politician though who was very relevant.
If that were true, the The midterms wouldn’t be so razor thin close. Apparently that big blue wave is not as beautiful and as big as liberals want to believe.
Actually when they look at the Democrats and Nancy Pelosi it does exactly just that.
Which one the older version or the new one? *bass4funk
Trump fiercely “enforcing” our border policies does.
Blacklabel
This is called an “opinion”. It’s what you think others don’t want and how you personally feel about their responsibility.
starpunk
trump is a false President. Everything he has done is a crime. And he is absolutely sickening. I have no respect for him - NONE!
ulysses
A filthy, factually wrong ad targeted towards the not-so-bright base of our beloved president.
The speed witch which they lap it up is astonishing. Pity!!!!
Peter14
Trump sure has a knack for turning American against American. If you dont think he is perfect then your the enemy of the people. "The people" being his supporters while everyone else is an enemy. While all this infighting takes place with claim and counter claim, the world continues its journey around the sun and all other living things continue their lives, with an almost absent America leaving the world to the likes of Putin and Xi. There can be only limited bi-partisan politics in the US under Trump as to him, only his opinion matters.
While I can only speak for myself, I believe many apart from me are getting a little tired of US politics. Either work it out or get on with the "american spring civil war". If you hate each other so much its only a matter of time. Give in to the Trump dictatorship and become a one party country like China or Russia, or impeach and remove him and limit Pence until the end of term and get back to normal so you can fix all the issues Trump has created.
Either way, just get on with it already.
Andrew Crisp
Lets hope the Republicans clean up in the Midterms - Go Trump
bass4funk
So his private life of the past is NOW relevant and he should let other people spread hate , smear him, attack him, but he should take it? Republicans of yesteryear would allow that, not this President, thankfully.
I keep forgetting 2.0 GDP is a flourishing economy for liberals, high taxes, regulations, the good old days.
But embracing Democrat social racists policies that have decimated an entire race for over 60 years is ok, just as long as they get their votes, keep promising, but no need to deliver....
Seems quite normal as the market is adjusting, fluctuations are going to happen, this is normal long term and all this liberal angst scare wouldn’t be happeneing if the previous administration wouldn’t have printed more money than we had or could spend and borrow more and more from China, but when you have for 8 years a sluggish economy what do you expect?
Chip Star
Love the conservatives blaming Obama for printing money, etc. when Obama was doing what needed to be done to bring the economy out of the abyss it was ran into be conservatives. It's funny given that Obana's policies sparked the current bull market.
Keep screaming falsehoods at the tops of your lungs and they will remain falsehoods.
Para Sitius
This is hilarious, all these 'illegal' immigrants going around murdering people. Yet stats show that people born and raised and 'legally' living in the US are responsible for the majority of murders committed. Of course, the immigrants are a far, far easier target to deal with then trying to sort out the mess the US has let itself slip into over the decades.
Jocelyn Strob Simard
So for Trumpists, the solution for murderer who are born in the USA should be to ban people from having kidS!???!!! This is ridiculous!
bass4funk
Interesting how the biggest economist in the country don’t think so. Lol
But what do they know, they just studied the economy, fools, the lot of them.

This is how bullies do things - pick on the 'strange' people. Hitler did it with Jews, Mussolini did it with trade unionists and farmers in co-ops, many nations have done it with racial minorities and/or indigenous peoples (incl. Japan and even some African countries), South Africa during the apartheid era did it with the majority, European nations have done it with Roma (Gypsies), and so on. Problems crop up, find some 'straw man' and take it out on them. And gays have always been misunderstood and therefore persecuted in most societies.
In 1990 the Cold War was just ended on a peaceful note and the USA and USSR were in peaceful coexistence. I read a cartoon in an American paper where some warhawks were sobbing about having 'no major enemies' since Communism wasn't the 'Big Threat and Evil Empire' it once was. In August 1990 they found on. 2 years later a boorish AM radio pig provided another - 'liberalism'. And so the great social decline of America began. The great peace achieved at the end of the Cold War and the Revolutions of 1989 was completely thrown away by the reality TV drama that began on January 16, 1991.
