"Study the late Joseph McCarthy, because we are now in a period with Mueller and his gang that make Joseph McCarthy look like a baby! Rigged Witch Hunt!"

Trump’s presidency has become so ridiculous it’s hard to even comment.

Giuliani sums up the Trumpster mentality best: truth isn’t truth. Absolute relativism.

McCarthy ruined innocent American's lives for political gain. That sounds an awful lot like what Trump has been doing.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday he had "nothing to hide”

Good. So he’ll sit down with Mueller and answer questions. Nothing to hide = no worries about ‘perjury trap’.

make Joseph McCarthy look like a baby! Rigged Witch Hunt!”

The words of master media manipulator Trump using ‘the media’ to defend himself and appeal to his base, who’ll believe and parrot his every soundbite. While at the same time attacking 'the media'.

One of many differences between what ultra-rightist McCarthy and his fellow rightwingers did was they attacked and punished innocent Americans using the flimsy argument they were communist stooges somehow connected to Stalinist Russia.

Whereas today Mueller has actual evidence (waiting for ‘Putin says can’t prove it!’) showing DIRECT connections between Trump’s business bunds and ultra-rightist Russia.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

Good. So he’ll sit down with Mueller and answer questions. Nothing to hide = no worries about ‘perjury trap’.

Which would be a stupid thing to do. He may not have anything to hide, but Mueller has everything to gain if Trump talks. If I were in that situation and absolutely nothing to hide, I would just give Mueller the bird and let him TRY and subpoena me, I would show up and then be on my merrily way.

The words of master media manipulator Trump using ‘the media’ to defend himself and appeal to his base, who’ll believe and parrot his every soundbite. While at the same time attacking 'the media'.

With good reason.

Whereas today Mueller has actual evidence (waiting for ‘Putin says can’t prove it!’) showing DIRECT connections between Trump’s business bunds and ultra-rightist Russia.

Oh, here we go... ROFL! Yeah, ok.

Looking forward to see Trumps tax returns you know the most recent ones not from 10 years...

And if that happens then what? Or if it doesn't happen, then what?

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

It’s called a perjury “trap” not just perjury for a reason. Flynn didn’t lie to the FBI yet he was put in a position where it was best for him to just plead guilty to lying and move on.

Same for Papadapolous. Mueller so afraid he will withdraw his plea that he is only recommending 0-6 months on jail and $9000 fine just so he can count the conviction for his failing team.

-17 ( +1 / -18 )

@bas4 He may not have anything to hide, but Mueller has everything to gain if Trump talks.

I'm glad to see you're doubting Trump's veracity. At this point even his most ardent followers have to think nothing he says can be trusted.

Looking forward to see Trumps tax returns you know the most recent ones not from 10 years...

Speaking of which, what is Trump hiding? (And no, the old partials Maddow showed don't count.)

Has Trump really been selling off bits of his global real estate empire to 'foreign' gangsters and their co-workers in 'foreign' intelligence agencies for cash - that they have tried to make difficult to trace?

Some call that money laundering, which is what criminal gangs do.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

@bass who cares about the then whats..he will be making good on a campaign promise thats a good thing isn't it?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Ok let’s say everything any liberals/Dem has said is true and “Mueller is coming” because he has the actual evidence.

Why has he allowed Trump to continue to be president and endanger our country? He had enough to jail/impeach/execute Trump 17 months ago, right?

Or was there a certain day recently where all of this evidence just came together? Sounds like “tomorrow” has been that day for 17 months.

Even Brennan backtracking now. he said it’s a figure of speech because he is Irish that Trump was treasonous and that he’s actually not.

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

The Manafort trial was supposed to be all about Trump’s money laundering with Russia. Then they announced its actually not about Trump at all and that he would not even be mentioned.

Color me confused. Now is it Cohen’s trial that’s the bombshell? Or back to Avenatti and Stormy?

-15 ( +0 / -15 )

Why has he allowed Trump to continue to be president and endanger our country?

He hasn't. The morons who elected him put him in the position, and the laws of the land have allowed him to remain.

He had enough to jail/impeach/execute Trump 17 months ago, right?

You say 'right' as if you're confirming something we know. None of us know what's happening in the investigation, no matter how much you people like to pretend you have any clue whatsoever.

Even Brennan backtracking now. he said it’s a figure of speech because he is Irish that Trump was treasonous and that he’s actually not.

Doubtful. In fact, I'd bet a dollar to a donut that this is just you once again perverting what actually happened into some demented right-wing talking point.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

The Manafort trial was supposed to be all about Trump’s money laundering with Russia.

Fake news. No one ever said it was about that, except you guys, which you then beat down and burn like the strawman it is.

Let's try to stick to things that happened in reality, and not just in your Trump-bubble. Mmmkay?

Giuliani sums up the Trumpster mentality best: truth isn’t truth. Absolute relativism.

But only moral relativism for politicians with an 'R' next to their name our members of the Trump Cult. For anyone else, they believe in a world of absolute, absolutely known truth where the slightest wavering or inconsistency is deception of such odious moral character that you may as well be in the same circle of Hell as Stalin.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

I’m just repeating that the left is telling me. Trump is obviously guilty, not doubts at all about it, we have the evidence, “mueller is coming”. so why has Trump been allowed to stay if he is guilty and you can prove it? Charge him and remove him.

Now that you let him stay 17 months, do you plan to cancel all his policies and remove every single person he ever appointed. Set that unemployment back to 6 percent and that GDP back to 1.6 right away too.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

Which would be a stupid thing to do. He may not have anything to hide, but Mueller has everything to gain if Trump talks. If I were in that situation and absolutely nothing to hide, I would just give Mueller the bird and let him TRY and subpoena me, I would show up and then be on my merrily way.

Sorry, can’t spin it – if he refuses to testify it’s because he would have to admit to a crime or plead the Fifth.

Looking forward to see Trumps tax returns you know the most recent ones not from 10 years...

And if that happens then what? Or if it doesn't happen, then what?

Then he’ll once again prove that he is a congenital liar – though we don’t need much more proof of that…

Back in 2014, Trump said this: "If I decide to run for office, I'll produce my tax returns, absolutely. And I would love to do that."

It’s called a perjury “trap” not just perjury for a reason. Flynn didn’t lie to the FBI yet he was put in a position where it was best for him to just plead guilty to lying and move on.

Meanwhile back here on Earth, "Flynn admits to lying about two December 2016 conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in a January 24, 2017, interview with federal investigators. Prosecutors say Flynn lied to the FBI when asked if he had asked the Russian ambassador to help constrain Russia’s response to President Barack Obama’s retaliation against Russia for its interference in the 2016 election. Flynn also claimed not to remember Kislyak’s reply where he said Russia would, in fact “not take retaliatory measures” at that time. The second conversation prosecutors say Flynn lied about involved a United Nations Security Council Resolution condemning Israeli settlements." Of course, Flynn lied to VP Pence about these contacts also.

Same for Papadapolous. Mueller so afraid he will withdraw his plea that he is only recommending 0-6 months on jail and $9000 fine just so he can count the conviction for his failing team.

Could be. Could also be Papadapolous provided more than enough dirt on Trump and his cronies that Mueller rewarded him with a light sentence. I'll put my money on the latter.

Failing team?  Mueller: Indicted four Americans once affiliated with Trump's campaign or administration, 13 Russian nationals, 12 Russian intelligence officers, three Russian companies, and two other people.

American law operates under the premise of 'innocent until proven guilty'. Trump has not been proven guilty,

"Lock Her Up!"  Irony and hypocrisy - something every Trumpster is blind to...

"Truth isn't truth!"

.....Rudy Giuliani

"Don't believe what you see, read or hear!" (or words to that effect)

.....Donald Trump

They sound like fictional characters right out of a dark Orwell novel, but they're real people.

Be blindly obedient and do and think as I say. Truly frightening that people still eat this stuff up just like they did in Germany during the 1930s.

Flynn didn't lie

All of Trump’s Russia Ties, in 7 Charts

https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/03/connections-trump-putin-russia-ties-chart-flynn-page-manafort-sessions-214868

Except telling everyone that he didn't talking any Russians until it was discovered that he talked with the Russian Ambassador like Sessions, Dump Jr, and Dump Sr. Dump Sr. also lied about the reason for the meeting, and Cohen and Giuliani was also caught lying for Dump.

Trump says his White House counsel not a 'RAT' like Nixon's

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-says-wh-lawyer-mcgahn-isnt-john-dean-123752171--politics.html

The statement implies that there is something to rat about. I suspect that McGahn has been purposely left out of the loop. Dump hired his personal lawyers because he know that they would lie for him at the drop of a dime.

McGahn is cooperating because it is his responsibility to protect the office of the presidency, and to protect himself from being thrown "under the bus" for obstruction charges committed by the president.

It says a lot when none of the staff trusts their leader, so they all have to find ways to protect themselves(McGahn, Cohen, Omarosa).

From proven liars:

Conway -- Alternative facts

Giuliani -- Truth isn't truth

Dump -- What you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening

The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. -- 1984

7 ( +7 / -0 )

@Stormcrow

The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power. . . . Power is not a means; it is an end . . . not power over things, but over men. . . . In our world there will be no emotions except fear, rage, triumph, and self-abasement. . . . There will be no loyalty, except loyalty toward the Party. There will be no love, except the love of Big Brother. . . . Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face forever. -- 1984

Seems relevant, right?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

If he's got nothing to hide, shut up and let the critics talk and the investigation finish. And show your tax returns.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

And you would be wrong again.

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/402473-brennan-i-didnt-mean-that-trump-committed-treason

He's walking it back because he spoke before Trump was proven guilty. He shouldn't have spoke so soon, but it's clear that he still believes Trump is guilty of being submissive toward Russia for whatever reason, as most objective people do. Hopefully, we find out what that reason is sooner rather than later.

Because you have to admit Trump behaves like a person that's hiding something.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

"Nothing to hide" and yet the coward won't go in for questioning like he swore he would. People can stop blaming THAT on Mueller or even his lawyers, it's his choice, plain and simple. Just like with military service and other things, the man is a coward. Now he's panicking yet again on Twitter as another person he swore would not turn has turned.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

If I were in that situation and absolutely nothing to hide, I would just give Mueller the bird

So, if you were a Republican president whose own Republican deputy AG commissioned a Republican with an impeccable career to lead an investigation into Russian meddling in your own election campaign (based on unanimous conclusions by all of your intelligence bodies), meddling of the sort that threatened the democratic foundations of the country you have sworn to protect, and you had nothing to hide -- you would give this investigator the middle finger if he asked you for an interview.

Sounds really presidential.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Sounds really presidential.

After 8 years pretending Obama was the Antichrist, I think they’ve realized that they can’t pretend like Trump is actually any good, so in the name of partisanship they are just accepting anything he does, so that they can score points for team red.

LOCK HIM UP!

6 ( +6 / -0 )

All of this "losing" and "gaining" misses the point. This is not a game - it is an investigation. The purpose is to determine how Russia interfered in the 2016 elections and who helped. Mueller's purpose is elucidating reality- that is all. Let's not forget that Mueller is a Republican.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Let's not forget that Mueller is a Republican.

The right sure seems to want to forget it, with all their bleating about a 'biased investigation'.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Last night, Giuliani admitted that there was collusion after admitting a couple of months ago to collusion then denying last week on TV right before Tapper showed him the tape of his lie.

Giuliani just admitted the 2016 Trump Tower meeting was to get dirt on Clinton

https://www.businessinsider.com/giuliani-trump-tower-meeting-dirt-on-clinton-2018-8

This time he said that they met for the adoption, but they topic changed to collusion even though they have Dump Jr. emails talking specifically about collusion and Dump Sr. admitting that he lied to the press about the purpose of the admitting which they said never happened, but he told his followers the week before the meeting that he would have some new dirt on Hillary the following week.

Lol! Giuliani's "Truth isn't truth" must be an unconscious cry for help and change the narrative of this ***t show that we call a presidency.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Silvafan, I understand where Giuliani is going with this. Basically, Giuliani is admitting that Trump did a lot of really bad stuff - but he has excuses! Plus, he's the president - he won, after all, so what he says must be taken as veracity! It's kind of how Putin governs, except Putin's better at it (years of practice and the ability to kill anyone at will come in handy; just ask Manafort). Here's the full exchange:

Rudy Giuliani: What I have to tell you is, look, I am not going to be rushed into having him testify so that he gets trapped into perjury. And when you tell me that, you know, he should testify because he’s going to tell the truth and he shouldn’t worry, well that’s so silly because it’s somebody’s version of the truth. Not the truth.

Chuck Todd: Truth is truth. I don’t mean to go like –

Rudy Giuliani: No, it isn’t truth. Truth isn’t truth. The President of the United States says, “I didn’t-“

Chuck Todd: Truth isn’t truth? Mr. Mayor, do you realize, what, I, I, I, –

Rudy Giuliani: No, no, no-

Chuck Todd: This is going to become a bad meme.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

No what he is saying is that when James Comey says Trump said something and Trump said he didn’t say it, if they decide to believe Comey, Trump just “lied”.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

And of course Mueller will believe Comey, Strzok, Brennan, Hillary, McCabe, et al. So Trump will be seen as the untruthful one in every case where stories differ. Despite each of those people having already lied previously.

That’s “perjury trap” when you are guilty just because a biased investigation believes the other side in a case where there is no proof either war.

Cause his team’s job is to “get” Trump and it’s a waste of time and 30 million dollars if they don’t.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Trump just “lied”.

Wait, Trump lies? Say it ain't so! I thought he was more truthful than Jesus!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

This administration has given truth an absolute hiding.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

You don’t investigate for 17 months and still insist to continue after having found nothing if you don’t have an end result in mind.

Trump says I didn’t ask for “loyalty”, Comey says he did. One of them is lying and we all know which person mueller and his Dems will choose as the liar if it’s left up to them.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Trump's been hiding in plain sight in the White House behind the Office of the Presidency, but even his humping the flag won't save him from charges of near treasonous conduct. For the moment, Agent Orange has somewhere to hide, but soon he'll have nowhere to run. Oh, I forgot there's the Russian Federation! Do Svidaniya!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Trump must be lying. He must have something to hide from Mueller.

Mueller/Warren 2020

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Never mind though. The media is nervous that manafort has a good chance of being found innocent. so they just moved the narrative back to Cohen being the guy who did bank and tax fraud. Anything to get Avenatti back on TV so he can run for president.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

No what he is saying is that when James Comey says Trump said something and Trump said he didn’t say it, if they decide to believe Comey, Trump just “lied”.

Well, we can see you earned your law degree at Trump University...

Perjury is when someone intentionally misleads or fails to tell the truth while under oath.  It takes much more than one person's version of events to indict someone for perjury.  Trump's main threats are not Comey, Gates, Manafort, or Papadapolous - though if all four of those have provided statements to Mueller that contradict something Trump will say under oath, that might be a problem.  Trump main threat is Trump - and his Twitter Feed and other documentary evidence, which is a gift to the Special Counsel.  That, and his constant lying - "We didn't meet with Russians, we did meet with Russians, We talked about adoptions, we didn't talk about adoptions, We didn't talk about dirt on Hillary, we did talk about dirt on Hilary, etc. etc.,

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Never mind though. The media is nervous that manafort has a good chance of being found innocent.

Nice projection.

But again, faulty logic. Just because you are nervous he will be found guilty, doesn't mean others are nervous he will be found innocent. Manafort is only one of the swamp, there are still many, many to be drained.

LOCK THEM UP! LOCK THEM UP!

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Comey as truthful and honorable? Who has the willful ignorance again? Even Dems don’t believe that nonsense, they know that Comey is a liar among many other things.

liberals just seem to pick your heroes based on how much they hate Trump without even considering their own flaws that dont support their “heroship”.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Comey as truthful and honorable? Who has the willful ignorance again? Even Dems don’t believe that nonsense, they know that Comey is a liar among many other things.

Just as I predicted:

cue willful ignorance through false comments on Comey's honor

You can lead a fool to information, but you can't make him not be willfully ignorant.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Give it a rest people and move on with your lives. Get used to seeing President Trump until 2024 then it will either be Pence or Haley.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

It’s been 17 months. Is there evidence or not?

if there is and has been, mueller needs to be fired for incompetence for not presenting it and saving us from 1.5 years of a compromised Trump presidency.

If there is not evidence nobody is buying that Trump can be found guilty anyway when he says one thing and someone else says something else. We don’t replace elected presidents over gossip and hearsay.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Giuliani with his 'truth isn't truth' comment continues to show he is as unfit to be Trump's lawyer as Trump is to be POTUS. Why can't everyone see it? Don't tell us it's all fake.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

You don’t investigate for 17 months and still insist to continue after having found nothing if you don’t have an end result in mind.

Actually, you do. Especially when you produce dozens of indictments in that relatively short amount of time (compared to similar investigations). The "nothing" you describe includes indictments of some of Trump's top aides.

Trump says I didn’t ask for “loyalty”, Comey says he did.

Well, we know the official reason Trump gave for firing Comey is a load of crap that makes no sense, so we have to rely on their respective histories...

One of them is lying and we all know which person mueller and his Dems will choose as the liar if it’s left up to them.

This is where Trump's history of lying bites him in the ass. You all forgave it because it was part of his businessman/showman persona that he used to win, but you can't now claim that he's credible.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

liberals just seem to pick your heroes based on how much they hate Trump without even considering their own flaws that dont support their “heroship”.

Uh, perhaps you've heard of Roy Moore, Joe Arpaio, David Duke, Sean Hannity, and of course all those "wiseguys" from Trump's time in NY he used to do business with...

As I've said before, Trump cultists have no concept of irony and hypocrisy...

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Question number one from the Special Council to Trump;

"Did you in fact write and author the memo purportedly written by your son, Don Jr, that stated that the basis of the meeting with Russian operatives at Trump Tower was to discuss adoptions and did you at that time know that memo was false, and that the purpose of the meeting was to obtain derogatory information on your campaign opponent from a hostile foreign power, and were you aware of the real purpose of this meeting prior to it occuring?"

5 ( +5 / -0 )

He may not have anything to hide, but Mueller has everything to gain if Trump talks.

That’s why he probably won’t, especially if Mueller can’t convince Giuliani that the investigation is not bias under any circumstances.

Sorry, can’t spin it – if he refuses to testify it’s because he would have to admit to a crime or plead the Fifth.

Ahhh, just like Lois Lerner and Mark Fuhrman, well, in that case he should be ok.

Then he’ll once again prove that he is a congenital liar – though we don’t need much more proof of that…

Even honest Abe wasn’t honest when he suspended habeas corpus, so all Presidents politicians lie, we really don’t need proof of that. Remember, No new taxes and if you like your doctor, you can keep him?

*The second conversation prosecutors say Flynn lied about involved a United Nations Security Council Resolution condemning Israeli settlements." Of course, Flynn lied to VP Pence about these contacts also.*

Ok and Flynn gets maybe sentenced and then pardoned and then what?

"Lock Her Up!" Irony and hypocrisy - something every Trumpster is blind to...

You guys say the same about Trump, if Hillary ain’t going away, Trump should be cool as a cucumber especially resting assured since the Senate wouldn’t convict him were he impeached.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

So, if you were a Republican president whose own Republican deputy AG commissioned a Republican with an impeccable career to lead an investigation into Russian meddling in your own election campaign (based on unanimous conclusions by all of your intelligence bodies), meddling of the sort that threatened the democratic foundations of the country you have sworn to protect,

Don’t forget to add a corrupt intelligence group of rogue cops trying to bring you down...

and you had nothing to hide -- you would give this investigator the middle finger if he asked you for an interview.

Yup!

Sounds really presidential.

No, it sounds very human.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Even honest Abe wasn’t honest when he suspended habeas corpus, so all Presidents politicians lie, we really don’t need proof of that. Remember, No new taxes and if you like your doctor, you can keep him?

Yep I remember that, let's see Obama - 2 in 8 years (and his were mainly because Senate Republicans  refused to cooperate on the ACA), Trump 3251 in 18 months...

Ok and Flynn gets maybe sentenced and then pardoned and then what?

Gee, I don't know, as a convicted felon (with a pardon) you think his security clearance will be revoked?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Ok and Flynn gets maybe sentenced and then pardoned and then what?

Then everyone knows that Flynn is guilty as sin, and that Trump associates with criminals.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

the Senate wouldn’t convict him were he impeached.

Say what? Someone shows they are clueless as to how the American legal system works.

The Senate never has, nor never will convict anyone. They are the legislative branch, not the judicial branch.

Sad.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Yep I remember that, let's see Obama - 2 in 8 years (and his were mainly because Senate Republicans refused to cooperate on the ACA), Trump 3251 in 18 months...

Doesn't matter. He lied, you can’t keep your doctor in most cases. They all lie. Lincoln promised suspend habeas corpus and he did and I’m a huge Lincoln fan.

Gee, I don't know, as a convicted felon (with a pardon) you think his security clearance will be revoked?

To be far, it should be revoked.

Say what? Someone shows they are clueless as to how the American legal system works.

Not at all, but I’m telling as the sun rises and the desert has sand and the tide rolls in and out, the GOP lead Senate will never remove him if he were to be impeached. Not going to happen.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

You guys say the same about Trump, if Hillary ain’t going away,

Hillary "got way" because dozens of investigations headed by obviously biased parties produced zero indictments.

Trump should be cool as a cucumber especially resting assured since the Senate wouldn’t convict him were he impeached.

That just shows how corrupt the Republican Senate is. Nunes was caught on tape admitting that they were the last line of defense for Trump. They don't even care what the investigation produces and what it means for Americans, they only care about saving his and their own hides.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Someone shows they are clueless as to how the American legal system works.

Not at all

Um:

the Senate wouldn’t convict him

Too late, that ship has already sailed. You very clearly showed that you don't understand how the American legal system works with that comment.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Don’t forget to add a corrupt intelligence group of rogue cops trying to bring you down...

Zero evidence of any corruption by the intelligence officials who are doing the investigation--none whatsoever. The Inspector General's report made this quite clear. However, perhaps you can share your proof of corruption with the IG so that he can amend his report.

Ok and Flynn gets maybe sentenced and then pardoned and then what?

There is no "maybe" here. Flynn will be sentenced, and he will be going to jail. It's time to drop this fantasy of yours that Trump is going to be able to pardon his way out of this mess. He cannot pardon everyone whom he has a relationship with that has been found guilty of committing felonies in a court of law. It would be a clear abuse of power.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Psst - Stranger: That is actually how it works, that the House may commence an impeachment motion, and if that passes, it moves to the Senate for a trial and ultimate acquittal or conviction. Nixon, for example, resigned even before the impeachment measure before the House was voted on. Clinton was impeached by the GOP-controlled House but acquitted by the far more moderate Senate.

An undecided legal point is whether a sitting president may be indicted and tried in civil court. This has never happened, precedent suggests it's not going to (imagine if anyone could sue the president!), and Mueller is almost certain to simply complete his report and hand it off to Congress.

And that's the crucial point so many posters miss. Mueller is not a prosecutor; he is counsel investigator. Ancillary cases he may pass off to prosecutors for one reason or another, but he has not and will never prosecute any of these cases. His sole role is to elucidate truth. As for Trump's fate, that will be determined by Congress.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Doesn't matter. He lied, you can’t keep your doctor in most cases. They all lie. Lincoln promised suspend habeas corpus and he did and I’m a huge Lincoln fan.

Well, to be truthful, to lie means there is an intent to deceive - I don't think President Obama had any intent to deceive with his statements.  And then there's sheer numbers - Obama's several over 8 years with Trump at 3251 and counting....

To be far, it should be revoked.

Good call.  What about Steve Bannon, Sean Spicer, Tom Price, Reince Priebus, Sebastian Gorka and Rex Tillertson?  Some of them have also monetized their clearance with appearances on right-wing media...

Not at all, but I’m telling as the sun rises and the desert has sand and the tide rolls in and out, the GOP lead Senate will never remove him if he were to be impeached. Not going to happen.

You can't say that with no idea what evidence Mueller has - I think there's a good chance he'll clearly show obstruction and conspiracy, and probable collusion.  There are more than a few Republican Senators that can't stomach that.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Don’t forget to add a corrupt intelligence group of rogue cops trying to bring you down...

Well, if you go through my post, what I listed were a bunch of verifiable facts. What you retorted with is simply a Trumpist narrative that is not substantiated in fact. The idiocy of this narrative is doubled when you conflate the entire intelligence community with "the left" and with Hillary and with Mueller's special counsel. People with that kind of pretzel logic should be careful about raising a middle finger.

Psst - Stranger: That is actually how it works, that the House may commence an impeachment motion, and if that passes, it moves to the Senate for a trial and ultimate acquittal or conviction.

Hm turns out I was the one who didn’t know what he was talking about. Thanks for the lesson.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

That just shows how corrupt the Republican Senate is.

I know you just didn’t talk about Republican corruption when the Democrats practically invented it. The main difference is Democrats are sly and crafty, they never get caught, Republicans are stupid and get caught most of the time. Dems are better at lyingit comes naturally to them. Republicans suck at it.....really.

Nunes was caught on tape admitting that they were the last line of defense for Trump. They don't even care what the investigation produces and what it means for Americans, they only care about saving his and their own hides.

And you're saying Adam Shiff is the virtue of honesty and integrity? The man would sell his own mother down the river if he knew it would further his career.

Zero evidence of any corruption by the intelligence officials who are doing the investigation--none whatsoever.

Ahhh...so that’s why these FBI rogue cops keep getting fired or their security clearance taken away. Honesty? Ahem.

There is no "maybe" here. Flynn will be sentenced, and he will be going to jail.

And then Trump will pardon him and he can restart his life again. Thank God for pardons.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Well, to be truthful, to lie means there is an intent to deceive - I don't think President Obama had any intent to deceive with his statements.

Well, then you can make the same argument for Trump.

Good call. What about Steve Bannon, Sean Spicer, Tom Price, Reince Priebus, Sebastian Gorka and Rex Tillertson? Some of them have also monetized their clearance with appearances on right-wing media...

Yes, if they try to undermine a Democrat President (if we ever get one given the infighting and the socialists team trying to hog the spot light which means, it’s not going to happen so...) then if that’s the case, then they should.

You can't say that with no idea what evidence Mueller has -

Actually, I can, just the thought of Pelosi being House speaker again makes every Republican cringe. Not going to happen, they won’t go against Trump especially now that his approval ratings are climbing about Republicans and particularly evangelicals and add to that another conservative will be on the bench soon and if Breyer or Ginsberg retires, that’s SC Justice number 3. No, the GOP dumb, but they’re not stupid, they won’t impeach him and cut their own throats.

I think there's a good chance he'll clearly show obstruction and conspiracy, and probable collusion. There are more than a few Republican Senators that can't stomach that.

But not nearly enough to even make. A majority to remove him, not going to happen.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

bass

'Republicans are stupid and get caught most of the time.'

Never thought I'd read those words from you but...well done!

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Well, then you can make the same argument for Trump.

No you can't - a couple misspoken statements to 3251 outright lies.  How can the "we met with Russians, we didn't met with Russians, Don Jr wrote the memo, I wrote the memo" Trump Tower fiasco be anything but an intent to deceive. And there's 3250 after that...

Yes, if they try to undermine a Democrat President (if we ever get one given the infighting and the socialists team trying to hog the spot light which means, it’s not going to happen so...) then if that’s the case, then they should.

OK, I'm confused - Brennan's clearance was revoked because he criticized the President or because he was (allegedly) monetizing his clearance with media appearances?

Actually, I can, just the thought of Pelosi being House speaker again makes every Republican cringe. Not going to happen, they won’t go against Trump especially now that his approval ratings are climbing about Republicans and particularly evangelicals and add to that another conservative will be on the bench soon and if Breyer or Ginsberg retires, that’s SC Justice number 3. No, the GOP dumb, but they’re not stupid, they won’t impeach him and cut their own throats.

Doesn't take a majority of Repubs - just takes two thirds of entire Senate - if balance stays same, they'll just need 15.

But not nearly enough to even make. A majority to remove him, not going to happen.

I think there are 15 old-school Repubs who couldn't look past obstruction, conspiracy and possible collusion.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Well, then you can make the same argument for Trump.

Not really. See my above point about Giuliani's most recent statement. They're on their second-to-final fallback position which is "Don't believe your eyes." That, I suspect, will soon be followed by "It's legal if the president does it," particularly following Giuliani's so inept wording of their current strategy ( seriously, one might well wonder if he's working for the Dems; Trump should fire him but has no one willing to take up the job).

So we've got the drama of whether Trump will voluntarily testify; and if he doesn't, whether Mueller will subpoena him; and if Mueller does, whether Trump will comply or refuse, in the latter case triggering a constitutional crisis; and then Mueller will deliver his report to Congress.

What a fascinating summer. It seems I've chosen a good time to become semi-retired.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

And you're saying Adam Shiff (sic) is the virtue of honesty and integrity? The man would sell his own mother down the river if he knew it would further his career.

When have I ever mentioned Adam Schiff? Stop deflecting. I won't bother asking you to support your statement above regarding Mr. Schiff since I know that you can't. Posting baseless partisan attacks will never strengthen your argument.

Ahhh...so that’s why these FBI rogue cops keep getting fired or their security clearance taken away. Honesty? Ahem

Who are all of these FBI rogue cops that you are referring to? Perhaps you are thinking that Peter Strzok is a group of people? Mr. Strzok was fired because he violated FBI procedures. He was not fired for corruption as some have falsely claimed here. Perhaps you are referring to John Brennan, who was never an FBI agent. He was the former head of the CIA. Maybe you mean Comey? Last I heard, he still has his clearance.

And then Trump will pardon him and he can restart his life again. Thank God for pardons.

You have obviously ignored everything that I have said about this. Last night, I asked you to provide justification for any of these pardons, and you did not. Then, I pointed out how you and others would have lost your minds had President Obama pardoned Hillary Clinton for any crimes that she would have been convicted of (which she wasn't), and again, you declined to comment. It's clear that you are just repeating talking points from the extreme right-wing blogs and media and have no real thoughts of your own that you can offer in defense.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Readers, please stop bickering.

No you can't - a couple misspoken statements to 3251 outright lies.

Yes and if you add up all the lies from previous Presidents, it will amount to a lot more.

OK, I'm confused - Brennan's clearance was revoked because he criticized the President or because he was (allegedly) monetizing his clearance with media appearances?

A combination of the two and as much lies and disinformation as he spread, he got his clearance revoked at the pleasure of the President and there’s not a darn thing he can do about it.

Doesn't take a majority of Repubs - just takes two thirds of entire Senate - if balance stays same, they'll just need 15.

It will and they won’t get the 15. They might get Cooker and Flake....maybe McCain if he can still make it, so it won’t happen.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

When have I ever mentioned Adam Schiff? Stop deflecting. I won't bother asking you to support your statement above regarding Mr. Schiff since I know that you can't. Posting baseless partisan attacks will never strengthen your argument.

I didn’t deflect. I never said, I couldn’t, it’s just I know Spliff gets giddy if he can get something out of nothing.

Posting baseless partisan attacks will never strengthen your argument.

Now you agree with me.

Mr. Strzok was fired because he violated FBI procedures.

Exactly, because of his corrupt nature.

It's clear that you are just repeating talking points from the extreme right-wing blogs

I don’t read them, I just watch and read the news and see how corrupt the Dems are.

and media and have no real thoughts of your own that you can offer in defense.

I feel the same about the left. Watch Manafort get pardoned.

Never going to happen.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

OK, I'm confused - Brennan's clearance was revoked because he criticized the President or because he was (allegedly) monetizing his clearance with media appearances?

Kinda funny thing about that. John Bolton, who until recently made his money as a CNN correspondent to relentlessly attack the Obama administration with apparent credibility as he'd retained his security clearance from his work during the Bush years, yesterday attacked Brennan, who was appointed by Bush and later criticized for politicizing intelligence which led to the Iraq war, for politicizing intelligence during the Obama administration as a reason to strip him of his security clearance despite the fact that Brennan appears on no TV shows (though he did write a best-selling book - maybe that's what's annoyed Bolton).

When they say paranoia pervades the White House, believe it - and there's a cause.

I just picture Trump flipping his phone around to show his tweet to some Secret Service guy before he sent it, and the Secret Service guy going from stone faced to giggling.

Trump is the trollster of all time and an effective president to boot. Not bad for someone with no military or political experience. That is why most of the media and the Establishment hate him so much.

I think most people would agree with that. As for the other people who post comments here, well - if I never need to know the going rate for dignity and self-respect I'll know who to ask. I would never suck up to any politician the way they do, it makes them look like spineless, sycophantic worms.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

We can only hope! Trump won't be able to wash himself of that stench.

"A business needs a good businessperson to run it."

"Trump is neither. Hence the nightmare situation the US finds itself in."

Pffft! The U.S. was in a nightmare situation until Nov 8, 2016. Trump is on his way to fixing it.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

Eight years of an awesome president who inspired by hope, followed by a year and a half of a pathetic liar man-child who has shown himself completely out of his league when it comes to presidenting, and the right still thinks things are better.

They are entirely clueless. The people didn't want him when they didn't elect him in 2016, and a lot of the morons who elected him have regretted it and hate him.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

If screaming Cheeto has nothing to hide then why on earth would he and his lawyers be concerned by a perjury trap?

Trump has a big guilty sign around his neck. The coming weeks and months should be a hoot.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Trump is the state. The state is all. He is the leader - uno duce, una voce.

His word is law and woe betide those who question it.

The stable genius has demonstrated his peerless skills and the rest of us should look upon his works and tremble.

This is, after all, the post-truth world.

We all now live within his covfefe.

The thing amazing about Trump is he KNOWS he's being watched, and he KNOWS Mueller is looking for signs that he's subjorning the law to benefit his own interests, and he KNOWS that such actions he takes now both buttress likely previous accusations and provide new leads - but the man simply cannot help himself. He does not know when to shut up.

Its comical, really, in a tragic sort of way: 52% of America does not deserve this.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Trump is the state.

He’s the President of he USA.

His word is law and woe betide those who question it.

He’s not a liberal.

The thing amazing about Trump is he KNOWS he's being watched,

That goes both ways, having lawyers does have its benefits.

*and he KNOWS Mueller is looking for signs that he's subjorning the law to benefit his own interests, and he KNOWS that such actions he takes now both buttress likely previous accusations and provide new leads - but the man simply cannot help himself. *He does not know when to shut up.

He doesn’t need to, he should be as loud as audibly possible. And there is nothing Mueller can do about it, just write a report or a recommendation, the man can’t indict the President and he won’t be removed by the Senate, in fact, this is 1998 all over again, what Mueller is doing is galvanizing the Republican bass, so it’s a good thing in the end, he’ll probably more victorious than Clinton was.

Its comical, really, in a tragic sort of way: 52% of America does not deserve this.

But 48% of Americans deserves to be bothered by the whiny bunch?

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

And there is nothing Mueller can do about it, just write a report or a recommendation, the man can’t indict the President and he won’t be removed by the Senate

Well that should end all of the perjury trap talk.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Trump is the state.

"He’s the President of he USA."

Liberals can't accept that. Hillary was the Anointed One.

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

He’s the President of he USA.

Therefore, he is the state. Do not question his ultimate oneness with America.

He’s not a liberal.

He is a godsend, a gift, a representative of the supreme allness that we can only aspire to. He will smite liberals and leftists and all the minnows that seek to outswim his hugeness.

He has nothing to hide; all the dogs (women), rapists (immigrants) and enemies of America (critics) should cringe and bow down before his glory.

His lies are not lies, they are truths. His faking about is not faking about. He is the one, and the only.

He is the Chesney Hawkes of our generation and will be remembered for his honesty and clarity.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

He is a godsend, a gift,

This is so very true.

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

Chesney Hawkes? WTF?

Other than dodgy blonde hair and a cocaïne habit I don't see the connection ....

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Hillary was the Anointed One.

Yeah. Repubs always use that phrase when they lose the White House. It was used regarding Obama over the eight years of his presidency, which he won twice by a far wider margin over what the current president received, it might be noted. It's used to describe long-vanquished enemies, people who no longer wield any influence, as a foil for the weakness of their own champion.

It is lame and lazy. That Trump has a significant amount of baggage, and that he continues to accumulate it despite the warnings of those more educated who surround him, is the fault of those who voted for him and the man himself. Hillary is history. Trump, you own.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Trump is the trollster of all time

There you have it. Trump supporters actually take pride and joy in this.

Absolutely depressing. America is screwed.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

True is not true, though. Stick to the ever changing script, unless you seek to undermine the leader.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

...but his weekend Twitter frenzies prove otherwise. McCarthyism?? "Mr Trump, are you now or have you ever been -- a Russian stooge?"

2 ( +2 / -0 )

And if that happens then what?

well have to see just how much Trumps business is linked to Russia,

Or if it doesn't happen, then what?

if hes got nothing to hide like hes says why wouldnt he!?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

True is not true,

No, it’s very true, you just contradicted yourself.

Stick to the ever changing script, unless you seek to undermine the leader.

If I want to watch the ever changing script, I’ll watch CNN.

Yeah. Repubs always use that phrase when they lose the White House.

Huh?

It was used regarding Obama over the eight years of his presidency, which he won twice by a far wider margin over what the current president received, it might be noted. It's used to describe long-vanquished enemies, people who no longer wield any influence, as a foil for the weakness of their own champion.

Bush won twice, Reagan won twice, so what’s your point?

It is lame and lazy. That Trump has a significant amount of baggage, and that he continues to accumulate it despite the warnings of those more educated who surround him, is the fault of those who voted for him and the man himself. Hillary is history. Trump, you own

People are tired of Washington, tired of getting hoodwinked and tired of the Democrats and liberals going off the deep, deep edge.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Americans elected a man because he wasn't a career politician, and his personal wealth supposedly made him immune from corporate influence. And yet they chose a man who is a career conman & dissembler, and whose fortune is mired in a Dagobah-sized swamp of corruption.

I hope he pardons everyone involved in his treachery. And then himself. Maybe then we'll see if America has completely succumbed to Stockholme Syndrome, or if they still have the spirit of 1776 in them.

The special counsel, Robert Mueller won't be ended the investigation on Russian involvement in last Election because now the investigation is nothing to with Russian. Robert Mueller is trying to oust the President Trump from the Oval Office. The special counsel, Robert Mueller has found nothing about direct collusion between the the President Trump and the Russian election meddling.

The special counsel power should be limited and the time frame of investigation also should be limited. There is evidence of the previous and the current the special counsel misusing the position. Obviously, the special counsel, Robert Mueller is biased and he is anti-Trump. He shouldn't be appointed as the special counsel to investigate the collusion between the Russian election meddling and the President Trump's election campaign. Robert Mueller will hound the President Trump as long as possible and his goal is to oust the President Trump from the Oval Office and to destroy the President Trump's second term reelection campaign. Now it's more personal than an official investigation into the Russian election meddling.

You may not be disagreed with everything the President Trump said, but you must accept most of what the President Trump said was true and need to fix it. The United State has many problems and need to fix them. The United State borrows money from other countries like Japan and China for to give aid to other countries to get respect. The US military power was weakened under former President Obama and to rebuild strong military power need a lot of money.

Some peoples do not like the President Trump's immigration policy, but the Government has to control and prevent the criminals coming to the country. Also, some peoples do not like the President Trump's trade war between the US allies and China. However, the President Trump is trying to close the gap trade deficit with those countries. You have to wait and see the result when the problems are sorted out.

The President Trump is trying to denuclearize the Korean peninsular. The US and its allies will lose nothing even if the N. The Korean Government has broken its promise to denuclearize the country. The sanction on N. Korea is still alive and nothing has changed.

Robert Mueller may have personally disliked the President Trump, but it doesn't mean you can go against the President Trump and sneaking into the President's private matter. The special counsel, Robert Mueller shouldn't expand his power beyond the Russian election meddling investigation.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

sorry to say every words came out from his mouth "past" "present" "future" - fake!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

instead he calling others fake

The special counsel power should be limited and the time frame of investigation also should be limited.

Another person who thinks it more important to rush an investigation, than to find people who are guilty of crimes. Nice priorities there.

If that logic had been applied to Watergate, Nixon would never have been caught, as that investigation took over two years.

Do you feel Nixon should have been let free due to the investigation going on too long?

Obviously, the special counsel, Robert Mueller is biased and he is anti-Trump.

Not only is that not obvious, it's entirely not born of reality. He was appointed by Trump to investigate, and he's doing what he was appointed to do. If there were bias and anti-Trumping, it would be Trump who did that by appointed Mueller. But of course that makes no sense.

Let's try to keep it to reality, mmkay?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

The special counsel, Robert Mueller shouldn't expand his power beyond the Russian election meddling investigation.

Umm, someone is showing their ignorance. Maybe actually read what he was tasked to do, instead of making posts that show you are clueless as to what you're talking about.

He is a godsend, a gift,

Comments like these show the true cult-like relationship Trump has with his supporters - these comments could have easily come from a North Korean adulating over their Dear leader.  That's not America.

In America, we don't have Kings, Putin-like Dictators, or Iran-like Supreme Leaders (at least we didn't until 2016...).

'Nothing to hide'? Yet why did you try to silence Stormy Daniels with a bribe and a threat, Donny Doucheboy? 'Nothing to hide'? Your vanity and collaboration and treason are obvious to all, il Douche. We can all see it. 'Nothing to hide'? You say you want to date and MARRY your daughter! Yeeeccchhh!!! Gross me out, it's sick. 'Nothing to hide'? Stormy Daniels revealed an 'Achilles' heel' on you. Oh yes she did. A major character flaw. 'Nothing to hide'? Even while you arrogantly spew your verbal vitriol like the boorish brat that you are, she revealed to everyone on TV that you are a whimpering whiny little SPANKY BOY. 'Nothing to hide'? You are a total disgrace of the highest degree, Benedict Dotard. What more do you have to hide?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Glad to hear he has nothing to hide, and look forward to him sitting down for an interview with Mueller under oath. And also releasing his tax returns so we can all see how little he has to hide. And not making everyone who works at the White House sign non disclosure agreements with respect to everything he says.

Oh good grief, liberals fawned all over Obama but they weren't called cultists.

Because unlike cultists and trump followers (which are essentially a sub-group of cultists), while we liked Obama for his policies, we were also willing to criticize him for his mistakes and bad policies. Trump’s zealots will support him no matter what he says or does.
