It wouldn't surprise me to learn that Trump is unaware that the largest base of support for US aircraft in that region, Incirlic, belongs to the Turks. It also wouldn't surprise me to learn that Trump couldn't find Turkey on a map.

Trump is unaware that the largest base

Trump couldn't find Turkey on a map.

Expat.

You are correct on both premises

The folks at the Pentagon must be sh..ing bricks

From Wiki.

Incirlik Air Base has a U.S. Air Force complement of about five thousand airmen, with several hundred airmen from the Royal Air Force and Turkish Air Force also present, as of late 2002. The primary unit stationed at Incirlik Air Base is the 39th Air Base Wing (39 ABW) of the U.S. Air Force. Incirlik Air Base has one 3,048 m (10,000 ft)-long runway,[6][7] located among about 57 hardened aircraft shelters. Tactical nuclear weapons are stored at the base.[8]

The President doesn't seem to be aware of the last little fact, too.

Wasn’t the liberal criticism of the USA withdrawal that after we left Syria, Turkey would attack the Kurds?

Or was that last week’s narrative and now this week how dare Trump tell Turkey not to attack them?

Newsflash for expat - We're getting out of that region. Starting with Syria.

gary: Putin must be in stitches with laughter

I dunno, Putin's going to continue having his troops shot at in Syria, while U.S. troops are getting out. Nothing to laugh about there.

Of course he laughed, he's been laughing since Nov 2015 when he convinced a bunch of ignorant Americans to vote for a Russian agent...

He's busting a gut over there, thinking about his Trump Penthouse...

Cut and run. Seems to be the Republican way with the Kurds. The Kurds should know better after Bush Senior left them exposed to Saddam with horrible consequences back in the 1990s. History is going to repeat itself and the Kurds will suffer, after helping the USA get ISIS out of Syria.

"ISIS has been defeated in Syria." -- Donald Trump. Wait for it ... it's coming ... "I didn't say that."

Turkish Government has no right to attack Kurdish Militia PYD/YPG inside Syria. Also, the Turkish Government has right to defend its country. Kurdish militia PYD/YPG must not provoke attack inside Turkey.
