Hahahahahahahahaha! You completely missed/misunderstood the points.

Wrong again.

But keep looking for E.T.!

Unless in their advanced technology, they've discovered laws of physics we have not, and/or they have discovered new ways of working around/with the laws of physics to achieve something we would think impossible.

Yeah--maybe they discovered a sun and a moon that is invisible to us---right next to the ones in our solar system.

And maybe the aliens are invisible to us too. So they are here! But we can't see them.

StrangerlandToday  02:57 pm JST

Arthur C. Clark once said “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic". Show an iphone to someone from the 1800s, and they will think it's magic.

First you were talking about aliens discovering new ways of working around the laws of physics. Now you are talking about technology from our world. Not a good analogy. And Arthur Clark wasn't from the 1800s, so why would he know what someone from the 1800s would think??

And an iPhone functions as a telephone too I believe. When was the telephone invented? And radio wave technology existed in the 1800s. So the magic argument fails too.

P. SmithToday  05:30 pm JST

You are continuing to make assumptions. Stranger covered it, so no need or reinvent the wheel.

You assumed incorrectly again.

U.S. gov't finds no evidence aerial sightings were alien spacecraft:

And it also has no evidence that aerial sightings were not alien spacecraft.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

"us" is not the issue. Laws of physics are, which by my statement apply to aliens, if any, mire technologically advanced than us or not.

Einstein believed in the probability of worm holes and time travel, so why not? Anything’s possible, or many things are, right?

The US far right and their media

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The US gov't wants Americans to be comfortably dumb.

The US far right あんdてぃえrmediahave long exploited the 間やcomfortably dumb Americans, getting many among that group to actually believe shape shifting alien reptiles are running pedophile rings, and also believing alien space craft shot lasers to start forest fires. And far right pols have made dumb statements, believed by their followers claiming injecting a disinfectant will chase Covid away. And that a hurricane can be stopped by exploding a nuclear weapon, and forest fires can be prevented by sweeping the forest floor. And that studying science contributes to mass shootings. Lots of Nobel scientists from the US, but lots of terminally thick, too

Just another political tool the right uses to distract and dumb down thier viewers.

Fox and other far right media have spent lots of time on on Biden's dogs.

Of course the US government will deny existence or knowledge of alien spacecrafts.

Do you really think the US gov't would ever admit there's something beyond that they cannot control or explain? They want us to believe that they're our servants and guardians who'll take care of us. And they love to use God as a tool for their selfish ambitions. Of course, recently Trump claimed to be the Messiah.

The US gov't wants Americans to be comfortably dumb. They'll never admit to contact with aliens because that would be admitting to something physical they can't control or understand. No government on Earth would do so, they're too vain for that.

Someone hasn't figured out how to 'bypass' (hack) them, by say folding space or something along those lines

If we want to go sci-fi, I like the idea of future humans using advanced technology to view the past. While not exactly time travel, such a device might be noticed at the other end, too.

Regarding the inventor of the military patent posted above, "His patent applications on behalf of his employers have attracted international attention for their potential military and energy-producing applications, but also doubt about their feasibility[citation needed], and speculation that they may be misinformation intended to mislead the United States' adversaries.

Extreme temperature are perfect conditions for optical illusions. Mirages in the desert are well known. Lesser known are cold temperature ones, like was recently captured in a photo showing an entire ship that appeared to be floating high in the air off the coast of Britain. Well guess what? The air temperature outside the jet aircraft is extremely cold, too.

Here is another patent by the same US Navy scientist describing a High Frequency Gravitational Wave Generator. In the verbiage of the patent it mentions its application to space propulsion. Also consider that he apparently works from NAS Patuxent River, which is immediately adjacent the airspace where many of these UAP sightings were recorded. Also, the Pacific Missile Test Center is at Point Mugu on the California coast, their satellite facility at San Miguel Island as is Vandenburg AFB, the site of many classified satellite launches.

The most basic rule of the 'scientific endeavor' is that NOTHING we believe, even 'Laws' is absolutely 'true', that anything we 'believe' now may be modified by new awareness. Anything else is 'religion'. It is doubt, not certainty, that lies at the bottom of our success in the little understanding we have of this place. The thing about this Universe (this Creation, if you like) is that it would appear to have no upper limit to 'complexity'. At this point in our species' developmental career and despite some understanding of the physical nature of this place which allows us to substitute mechanical advantage for muscle, behaviorally we are still as primitive as we were 50 thousand years ago. If we were to judge the 'intelligence' (whatever that may actually be) of our species by the ubiquity of 'awareness' of what we understand this Universe (Creation) to be amongst us, that is, how much general true 'knowledge' of this place the 'average' Human mind holds compared with the inconsistent and contradictory delusions we hold, we would see that we are not too much more aware of our existences than the average Chimpanzee. We are not generally aware that this place was in full operation for 13.6 Billion years before we even got here, eight and a half billion years before our SUN even got here. Many of us consider Homo demens to be the ONLY possible 'awareness' in this apparently infinite place of, as far as we know, infinite possibility while astronomers tell us that just our Galaxy alone holds about 80 BILLION suns just like ours (but older) expected, at least for some (of 80 billion), to have planets just like ours. At this point in our 'focused' understanding of this place, that which the careless lump into a non-thing called 'Science', is telling us that there is much we do not understand and that those things are still very basic to what this place is and what it can be. Bottom line, we are aboriginal isolates perhaps watching an airplane, a god, at the limit of our sight write white lines of god-stuff across our sky and we quail. My own guess, if these fleeting phenomena are indeed vehicles of some sort, are that they would most likely be observers, and not necessarily all from the same place or 'people'. When we have 'evidence' of 'something', to deny a possibility because we do not understand how it can come to be is foolish. We really know nothing of the deeper aspects of this place, what is possible, what is not. In fact and despite our jumbo jets and internet and MRIs, our 'general awareness' of ourselves is no greater than it was 500 years ago with the same delusions, induced psychoses, and unchecked psychopaths which have plagued us for our entire history. And, I suspect, if these are indeed 'observers' from other places, they have not come here to admire us but to observe how this Universe, this Creation, goes about Quality Control of failed wouldbe planetary 'spores'. That is what leaving this planet would have been, taking the Life of Earth out into this Universe. Earth will have to wait for the next biological Era because this one is being destroyed by the most invasive and destructive organism to overgrow its support system in geological history, creating a massive extinction event which previously took a meteoric punch in the planetary face. We've failed and they've come to watch how we play out...sigh

Here is a US Navy patent for something that hints at what the US military is exploring.

https://patents.google.com/patent/US10144532B2/en

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Previous to this, you had a generation of scientists looking for a planet they thought would exist, due to a calibration issue.

This sounds to me like a sea story. The problem gear would only affect observations from that one observatory, and the defect in observations ought to have turned up in all of that observatories observations. Meanwhile there are observatories all around the world trying to answer the same questions. All the different observatories out there and nobody else noticed there was no fluctuation in the orbit? Waving the bs flag on this story.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I liked Neil DeGrasse Tyson's take on this. He says the military has instruments that showed what some have interpreted to be aliens, but he pointed out that there have to be questions about the sensors and their calibration that have to be confirmed, and explained how part of the scientific process, being pedantic as it is, is to analyze every step along the way in detail. He then gave an example where a generation of scientists looking for a planet past Neptune, looking for a hypotesized planet, based on a fluctuation in orbit of Neptune. Then years later, they realized that a single telescope had its gears changed right before these findings were found, so they took that single telescope out of the data set, and discovered there was no fluctuation in the orbit.

Previous to this, you had a generation of scientists looking for a planet they thought would exist, due to a calibration issue.

Impossible for aliens to be on earth. Laws of physics apply to the entire universe.

You assume that:

A) We know all the laws of physics

B) Someone hasn't figured out how to 'bypass' (hack) them, by say folding space or something along those lines

I agree with TheFu, it's quite unlikely. But impossible? Nope.

From the late 1940s through the late 1960s the USAF experimented with some extremely high performance flying discs the existence of which were only recently declassified.

http://www.laesieworks.com/ifo/lib/USDiscWing.html

http://greyfalcon.us/pictures/Flying%20Saucers.htm

My personal thought is what the US Navy encountered was classified US tech the US will never in our life times admit to.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

So ridiculous this belief in UFOs. So these aliens have the tech to be able to travel millions if not tens of millions of light years completely undetected and then somehow are caught on cockpit camera?

Active cancellation of radio/radar wave forms is current technology used by some military jammers so yes it is possible for something to be visible to the eye yet not detectable on radar. Now read this exceptionally well documented encounter with a UAP by the Chilean Navy. In this case the UAP is visible from an IR camera on a Chilean Navy helicopter but cannot be detected on radar. Both the radar on the helicopter and ground based radars had nothing on their screens as this video was being recorded.

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/groundbreaking-ufo-video-just-released-from-chilean_b_586d37bce4b014e7c72ee56b

1 ( +1 / -0 )

There's around a billion high-resolution cameras in the world right now, and all the UFO images purported to be aliens are grainy and blurry, mainly in black and white. Seriously, when was the last time you took a blurry black and white photo of anything that wasn't by accident? In the 1950s?

By the accounts I have read the US Navy has absolutely crystal clear close up video and still images of these UAPs that have not been released, ostensibly because releasing them reveals secrets about the capabilities of US sensors that the US doesn't want its adversaries aware of.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Impossible for aliens to be on earth. Laws of physics apply to the entire universe.

I'd say nearly impossible. 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 chance, but still a chance.

The major military budgets all have hypersonic research. Any missile that gets into space is hypersonic. Russia, the US, and I think Australia have known tests for hypersonic delivery systems. But they fly in either straight lines or with slight curves. They don't instantaneously change direction as reported by UFO eye witnesses.

I think it is a group of white mice running an experiment. That's just as likely. There are at least 2 examples in modern books. Pinky and the Brain and The Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy. Got your towel?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

It is priceless when proponents of a conspiracy theory accuse news about another conspiracy theory to be just a distractor to take the attention from their beliefs, probably some UFO communities are saying the same thing about the e-mails.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Sounds like the Men in Black got to them to suppress the truth! :)

A little basic research would provide the information to understand why it is highly unlikely that aliens are buzzing around in tiny disks. Suggest the JBIS as a good start.

This type of reports has been going on for decades. Thousands of years. We even have reports in Japan as well.

How arrogant to believe the Universe, we already understand it's Massive! More then we originally thought. Billions of sun's, Billions of planets. The chances of being alone is literally 0.

We have wars every few years.

Major wars every 50 to 100 years.

Neighbor countries don't trust one another.

Are You surprised Aliens don't want to land and say HI.

We are not ready, we won't be for a long time to come.

Are we dangerous and someone should watch us? Definitely. That's why they are here. We would do the same if you think about it.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Come on, everyone knows this current spate of UFO stories is just a psychological softening up of the American population to allow billions of their tax dollars to be spaffed away on Space Force and the like.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

To understand all this you would need to watch all 9 original seasons of the X-Files and the 1998 movie. But I suppose it would be too hard to follow for some folks who think that others are morons and who claim to be more intelligent than they actually are.

Shocking that you didn't include X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008). Fake fan.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

"aliens are sophisticated enough to travel the vast distances required to to reach earth, but not sophisticated enough to communicate with us or evade our detection technology."

Alien colonists are much more sophisticated than that. They do not want to communicate with us, at least not all of us. They want to colonize the earth and annihilate all of us. Among humans, they only communicate with the Syndicate, because the Syndicate has been collaborating with the aliens in creating alien-human hybrids who will serve as a 'slave race' once colonization is complete. Whenever alien spacecrafts were detected, it was because our technology caught up with their stealth spacecrafts, like it happened in Roswell, New Mexico. But the Syndicate suppressed those findings to avoid warning humanity about the impending doom so that the plan of alien colonization could be completed.

And lastly, the aliens (it would be a misnomer to call them aliens) were the original inhabitants of the earth during the Ice Age. But as the planet started becoming warmer, they left the earth to find a new home for themselves. Now they want to come back to their original home but global warming has delayed their plans. However, they have evolved biologically to tolerate higher temperatures now so it is just a matter of time.

To understand all this you would need to watch all 9 original seasons of the X-Files and the 1998 movie. But I suppose it would be too hard to follow for some folks who think that others are morons and who claim to be more intelligent than they actually are.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

yeah likely not happening.

But this would be probably the most accepting time, at least in US history, for an actual alien to just show up at a press conference. With everything else we have seen, I dont think anyone would even bat an eyelid.

Media would just start looking to see if he had any social media history that could be used against him and trying to find out his opinion on the 2020 election and its aftermath to put him on the left or right.

Wait, is "him" the preferred pronoun? I may have misclassified the alien (oops... undocumented non citizen of Earth from unknown origins). This could be a fun diversion for us all.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

with all the free stuff being given out in the USA (even to non citizens) and with non existent immigration policies, maybe the aliens felt it was the best time ever to make themselves known.

by next week the aliens will be investing in Dogecoin, getting backdated stimulus checks, moving into reduced price housing for illegal aliens, getting the "jab" and receiving federal unemployment checks.

Life is good in the USA.

Counterpoint: none of this will happen.

he has a name, he just chooses not to share it when he presented the information he has.

Sure. And how does worrying that Russia or China (the two biggest rivals of the USA at this point in time) could possess a technology far superior to America makes this unnamed sernior US official a "justice warrior socialist", exactly?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I don't really care about whether cat-eating alien life forms are there on Earth or not, but They Live is s pretty good metaphor for how the world works these days.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

yep "presented"- *to give, provide, or *make something known

Unless this word has also undergone word meaning reassignment surgery.

I guess if I wanted to go down this road with you, the "unnamed" senior US official is actually not unnamed.

So ridiculous this belief in UFOs. So these aliens have the tech to be able to travel millions if not tens of millions of light years completely undetected and then somehow are caught on cockpit camera? And again if they had the tech to get here, they'd surely not be interested in anything we have here on our meager little rock. Either that or they would have mined or gathered whatever they were after long ago. Just step back and ponder how much more advanced any alien species would be...We wouldn't even be able to comprehend much of their existence

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I don't think they are: space is just too big.

A part of me thinks those aren't aliens, but actual human technology... From the future.

Time traveling future humans. Which would actually make a lot of sense.

everything to this justice warrior socialist generation has to be categorized as left or right so they know how to respond. Notice how even the aliens are presented as possibly "Chinese" or "Russian"?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I think is another country with high tech drones.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

not what the report said. it says basically we dont know either way.

You said, definitively, that they were aliens.

I don't think they are: space is just too big. The odds of us coming into contact with an intelligent alien species is like an ant in Norway meeting an ant at the southern tip of New Zealand, without using human technology, and having just a day to do so.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

not what the report said. it says basically we dont know either way.

Washington (CNN) US intelligence officials have found no evidence confirming that unidentified flying objects encountered by US Navy pilots in recent years were alien spacecraft but also have not reached a definitive assessment as to what these mysterious objects might be, according to five sources familiar with the findings of an upcoming report on UFOs that is expected to be delivered to Congress later this month.

According to three of those sources, the report does not however rule out the possibility they are alien spacecraft.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Notice how even the aliens are presented as possibly "Chinese" or "Russian"?

I didn't notice that, because there are no aliens.

An interesting documentary "Nimitz incident", where experienced fighter pilots drove planes to the limits of their capabilities in the pursuit of unknown flying objects.

It looked about like a two-year-old was chasing you in order to catch you.

It is also interesting, that they measured a UFO descent from a height of app 20 km or so at a speed of about 30,000 km / h, which then stopped above sea level in a blink of a eye.

Go and figure.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

and they also found no evidence they are not.

so it is still "conspiracy theory"?

U.S. gov't finds no evidence aerial sightings were alien spacecraft

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

I’m not sure I believe these people and so the answers to this mystery still continues…

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Of course there are other life forms, but I don’t think they will have big round heads and fly in round disks.

If they are carbon based life forms, and they polluted their planet to oblivion, they probably might run away like the earth billionaires to Mars or the Moon.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Of course the US government will deny existence or knowledge of alien spacecrafts. Folks part of the deep state in the US government are in cahoots with the aliens. The Cigarette Smoking Man, the Well Manicured Man and other shadowy government operatives who have been part of a secretive, powerful cabal known as the Syndicate have long worked behind the scenes to keep the truth from coming out before the Americans and the world. However, due to the tireless efforts of FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder and his partner Dana Scully, all of us X-Files fans know that alien colonization (which was supposed to begin from December 2012 but got postponed as the aliens got a bit scared of global warming) is just a matter of time.

Alien-human hybrids have already been created to serve as a 'slave race' for the technologically advanced and biologically superior alien colonists. It is just a matter of time before full fledged colonization begins.

In return for their collaboration, the Syndicate members and their families will be given safe passage once aliens colonize the earth. The truth is out there. Trust No One.

Huge if true.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

China or Russia could be experimenting with hypersonic technology.

Those countries are going to experiment by flying it in close proximity to US aircraft, ships, and military installations, where it is easily detectable, and if something were to go wrong, it could be recovered by the US, making it open to discovery of how it operates?

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Perhaps we need “a Space Wall”?

- “But sr. U.S. officials cited, said the report's ambiguity meant the govt was unable to definitively rule out theories that the unidentified phenomena might have been “extraterrestrial” in nature.
