The 13 year old died with the virus, not necessarily from the virus. He was already in hospital with a medical condition.

Maybe a few replays of Boris Johnson bragging about shaking hands with people infected? Look what his leadership has done.

Yes. You do wonder why this article didn’t add a quick sentence to point this out.

I’m not downplaying the seriousness of this situation, but accuracy matters.

On top of a decade of Tory austerity and cuts.

The NHS has to be a priority. Not just now but after all this has finished.

BigYen, that 25,150 cases figure is only the confirmed cases figure. The number of actual cases is far higher but unknown because testing is not yet widespread. The actual death toll is far less than 7% but with little confirmation it’s impossible to give an accurate figure. Said that not to minimise the tragedy, just to a little realism to the situation.

Is that true? I don't know if it's the same case, but in the BBC article below, according to his parents, the boy had no underlying health issues.

The boy had no underlying health conditions. He was admitted to hospital with breathing difficulties and was tested there.

Bigyen:

far lower than Germany's 775 dead out of 71.808 cases (slightly over 1%)

Simple explanation: Germany is testing more, so of course includes a higher number of infected cases with no problems. We should always check what data we are comparing.-

Wipeout:

If the coronavirus infection triggered breathing difficulties for the child, with a rapid deterioration resulting in death (in this case, about four days), then the child died from the virus, even if there were comorbidities.

Yes, but there are many cases where you just don´t know. In which case it becomes a question of police if you add it to the Corona statistic or not. So obviously, different policies result in different statistics.
