Regardless of my political leaning and/or personal opinions of his policies I wish him (and his partner) a full and speedy recovery.

Terrible news. All the best to PM Johnson and all Covid-19 victims. Truly a horrible disease, with a current fatality rate of over 10% in the UK and some other European nations. I hope that Johnson can somehow pull through this, especially with his first child on the way.

Where are you getting 10% from, sport?

I read online that he is not conscious.

It is currently about 10% of confirmed cases (5,373 deaths, 51,608 cases). But the number of actual cases is probably far bigger.

I think even Boris would smile at that one. First child this year perhaps.

No one is admitted to ITU ‘just in case’. Either he needs intensive care or he doesn’t. I put good money on him getting oxygen via CPAP. Either way he’s much more I’ll than they are letting on.

Yes. I haven’t heard any authority on this topic talking about a 10% death rate across the population.

Nice one.

Avigan could be useful for PM...

Classicist Johnson will be taking comfort from the Roman adage "Quem di diligunt, adolescens moritur" (whom the gods love die young). There is no need for alarm yet since he's not on a ventilator. With the very best medical care from the NHS he is more likely to live to a ripe old age. After he recovers, I hope he will express his gratitude to the men and women who saved his life with a change of heart and a generous amount of financial support.

Readers, there will be no bad-mouthing of Boris Johnson while he is in hospital. Anyone who does so will be removed from the discussion board.

Of course not, because nobody has tested the entire population of any country. Iceland is the first (and so far only) country to attempt that, and first results are that about 50% of the Corona positive cases have no symptoms at all, so no idea that they are positve. The infection fataliy rate is of course nowhere near 10%.

I hope he recovers and his baby is born healthy. I might disagree with his policies and personality, but death is not a reasonable option.

I want myself to have check-up if I'm not affected but Covid-19 inside me. Mr. Abe give a machine to find myself safe ('til now).

Sounds like he’s stable. Not a fan of his politics but I wish him a speedy recovery.

Boris will prove his decisiion was right by beating this virus, and be the next winston churchill. If he survives then he is a tough guy and england needs a tough guy to lead em in the next decade.,or its gonna be a brexit boris style completely out

This is about our humanity and Boris Johnson is not just the PM of the UK but a husband and father. Think about his loved ones that will miss him if the worse happens. I pray he recovers and returns to his family.

Hopefully a good outcome for Boris Johnson.

So very true. There were some very hateful things written on JT when Margaret Thatcher passed not that long ago. I am as partisan as anyone here but wishing death upon someone due to political differences is beyond my ability to comprehend.

Here is hoping that PM Johnson comes back as healthy as ever and looking forward to his battling with the new leadership of the Labour party.
