Since when has Massacre Mitch been above changed by the Senate rules to get what he wants? It seems to me this is Moscow Mitch giving Donny the middle finger a bit.

A warning shot across Donny's bow? If so, it's a waste of time because Don y is too stupid to understand a warning shot. He'll just keep running his mouth.

Trump spent much of the day directing his ire at the Democrat leading the inquiry, suggesting on Twitter that congressman Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, should be arrested for "treason."

The louder someone proclaims their innocence tells me that they are guilty! Calling someone out as being treasonous is no small thing.

If Trump has proof of treason, he had better put it out there, as it is slanderous to say the least!

It seems to me that the Trump presidency has uncovered a lot of holes, loopholes and structural faults within our system of checks and balances. Despite the reverence that the Constitution is held in, there is a lot of problematic, mealy-mouthed language that is causing a lot of problems and not just with the 2nd amendment.

One thing that has amazed me in this unfolding story is how crooked Barr is. I knew he was a partisan, but he has gone so far beyond that in this one. He could be looking at jail time. Moscow Mitch may give him a run for the money, however, if he ignores an impeachment coming out of the House.

Moscow Mitch is motivated by money. He's got his wet finger in the air checking to see what his major campaign contributors in the US, Russia and China are saying. He's all about his and his wife's bank accounts, but has his own tough election coming up running against Retired Lt. Col. Amy McGrath, the Marine Corps veteran and fighter pilot, who's served her country, unlike people like him (and Trump) who've only taken from it.

Just get it over with. If McConnell blocked this one, there would just be more time wasted looking for the next instead of running the country.

He's probably caving on this issue because, honestly, while it is questionable, this one is not really a huge smoking gun and I figure they are confident that it can be beaten. The Republicans have no idea what the next big thing might be, but if this one doesn't fly, it will be that much harder for the Democrats to bring charges the next time.

As well as Democrat overreach which equally and seriously need to be investigated.

Remember, the party that used a fake dossier to undo the 2016 elections.

Let’s see Barr has the most impeccable reputation when it comes to law and the service of his country, not a blemish, he gets close to Democrat obstruction and criminality, he digs deep into the deep swamp, he’s crooked, lol. 2 can play that game, let’s see where the chips fall. Trump is Still massively bringing in money, another $15 million. Let them impeach, he won’t be removed and maybe we can move forward. Get it over and done with.

Of course the senate won't convict Donny; it's controlled by republicans, who care more about power than our country.

Really? So people who are falsely accused just need to be quiet and accept punishment? Well unless you are a Dem, then the media proclaims your innocence for you.

The louder someone proclaims their innocence me that they are guilty!

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

Can’t wait for the trial myself. I only hope Dems are dumb enough to actually vote for the articles of impeachment.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Of course the senate won't convict Donny; it's controlled by republicans, who care more about power than our country.

And that's my whole point (although I believe there's equal amounts of good and bad in both parties, so I refuse to resort to judging someone based on which group they align with).

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Damn, forgot to finish my thought. They won't convict him, but they'll let it go to trial. Then if the Democrats try to bring charges again, they can just do like the American ambassador at the end of 'The Hunt for Red October'. 'You mean you want to impeach again'?

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Liberals throwing everything they have at this. They know Barr and Durham are investigating and getting assistance and documents from Italy, Australia, Ukraine and others. Just a matter of time until we find Dems actually did what Trump is falsely accused of.

So, it is basically going to be a repeat of Clinton's impeachment.

Clinton got impeached by the Republican-controlled House, but was not convicted by the Senate.

This time Trump will likely be impeached by the Democrat-controlled House, but there is no chance of 67 Senators voting to convict him, with the Republicans in the majority and going into an election year.

Yeah and Democrats are really concerned for country or as Pelosi said, it’s a sad occasion, I take no pleasure in this and I pray for the President. ROFL!

Anyone believing that deserves to get played like a fiddle.

impeachment effort

For all the anti-Trumpers here - Democrat Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib is selling "Impeach the MF" T-shirts.

Get yours today! lol

Democrats are funny, first they have a meltdown about Trump wanting to investigate Hillary and won’t cooperate because she’s not running, it’s unfair and now you have Biden running, but the Democrats don’t want Biden investigated because it’s unfair, so it’s safe to say, we Democrats can investigate Republicans for any reason, but Republicans are not allowed to investigate Democrats under any circumstances. Lol

You just can’t make this up, oh, the hypocrisy.

congressman Adam Schiff

Yeah, we're still waiting on his evidence of Trump-Russian collusion.

The House initiated an impeachment inquiry against Trump last week after a whistleblower report raised concerns that he tried to leverage nearly $400 million in U.S. aid in exchange for a political favor from Ukraine's leader.

Biden said he never talked with his son about his business dealings with Ukraine. Liar.

Chip Star - Since when has Massacre Mitch been above changed by the Senate rules to get what he wants?

Democrats recently changed the whistleblower rules to allow third-party complaints, and low and behold, they just happen to immediately find a former CIA employee to act as a third-party whistleblower. And this just happened to be around the same time as the Justice Dept. began to reexamine ol' Hillary's missing emails, and her private server. I'm shocked.

The whistleblower's lawyer, who just happens to be a former Hillary cohort, is currently negotiation the whistleblower's appearance before one, or more, of the Democrat-led Congressional committees. It will be interesting to hear which Democrat lawyer wrote the whistleblower's charge, and find out how many times he/she voted for Hillary.

This may be why elected Democrats haven't actually begun an impeachment. They still don't have any actual evidence of wrong doing.

Im still trying to figure out, what is the impeachable offense? He just used some leverage, as is done in business and government all the time to get the best deal. You dont just hand over half a mil to another country without some reciprocity. Give us the dirt on scumbag Joe, you get the deal.

I dont get, whats the crime?

And if this dont stick, there will be legions out there from CNN and the Dem loser crowd who will come for him again and again.

Democrats recently changed the whistleblower rules to allow third-party complaints...

Where did you read that? One of Trump's tweets?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

The frequency of posts from Trump fanatics suggests abject panic....

Heh.

The only question now is who will bring the Insane Party inside challenge to the orange moron as is presidency implodes.

Let’s see Barr has the most impeccable reputation when it comes to law and the service of his country, not a blemish,

Nobody can say that with a straight face. Barr is the most dishonest if not corrupt AG we’ve ever had. He lied about the Mueller report and fooled the not so bright Trumplets in his summary.

It’ll be interesting to see what role he had to play when Donny was trying to sell the country for some dirt.

McConnell is as much a part of the problem with the current government as Trump.

So, it is impossible to believe much that he says.

Democrats recently changed the whistleblower rules to allow third-party complaints

Wow, this falsehood has already been debunked. Of course, Gulianni is spouting these lies to the true believers, so they are repeated.

Why is it the GoP always claims the weak underdog position: those dastardly Dems changing the rules to allow in evidence of Trump's wrong doing. Hmmm.

Assume that this was true (it is not), How does that change your opinion of soliciting the Ukraine to interfere with the 2020 election? Because Trump was by his own admission soliciting Ukraine. How can anyone justify that as being appropriate? I guess if you are losing and you will do anything to win.....

This may be why elected Democrats haven't actually begun an impeachment. They still don't have any actual evidence of wrong doing.

Yes, with the exception of the admissions in the transcript (which are patently criminal) the WB statement is mostly hearsay, which can be used to obtain a subpoena to obtain the direct evidence.

Incorrect. Dismissing the foolishness of "Democrats did this," which isn't even worth commentary. But first off, the law has never prevented anyone with secondhand information from making a complaint. It merely said on the complaint form IF the information was firsthand or not.

And second....

the whistleblower's complaint form was done on the OLD form, which had that question.

Trumpists wanted to drain the swamp.

This is exactly what's happening. It's just a shame that the swamp was oversubscribed after 2016. Ironically, it took the election to present the corruption to the people in all it's highly-visible and horrific GOP glory. Trumpist lie after lie after lie. And threats. And the stinking whiff of treachery against the Constitution, and more importantly, the electorate.

You just can’t make this up, oh, the hypocrisy.

Oh, the hypocrisy indeed.

Republicans love committing crimes, but they cry and play the victim when they get caught.
