Some people hyperventilate and suffer hypoxia because of the masks.

Nobody should be forced to wear one against their will.

Some people hyperventilate and suffer hypoxia because of the masks.

There are no medically documented cases of this. Surgeons and other health professionals wear the more restrictive N95 masks for hours at a time with no ill effects. Industrial jobs like painting cars for example require use of highly restrictive respirators. Yours is a claim with no merit whatsoever.

Nobody should be forced to wear one against their will.

Your right to do as you want ends when something you do can harm someone else. If you are a silent carrier of Covid 19 you might not experience symptoms and be honestly unaware you are infected, but you can very definitely give the disease to someone else who may get very sick and even die. It is selfish indeed to refuse to wear a mask. In the context of a global pandemic where half a million Americans have already died then yes your government has every right to expect you to wear a face mask in order to reduce the spread of the pandemic. It is the very least you can do. It's simple human decency or is that notion now off limits?

46 is correct.

Haven't enough people died from this? Why ruin all the good work being done to halt the spread?

Nobody should be forced to wear one against their will.

Yes, you still have your rights to infect others here in Japan. But you will find yourself being politely challenged in public. And, of course, online for spreading irresponsible falsehoods.

U.S. President Joe Biden on Wednesday said decisions to end the required wearing of masks - such as those by governors of Texas and Mississippi - amounted to "Neanderthal thinking" given the rising death toll from the coronavirus pandemic.

Neanderthals probably had a clearer thinking than the GOP idiots.

They are so busy appeasing their bigoted base that all rational thinking seems to have been discarded totally.

No one's forced to wear a mask. But I've yet to see a business or restaurant here that says you can enter without a mask, so enjoy having your mask off in the parking lot but if you want to buy groceries then put on your mask or hit the road. It's good to keep stupid people out of public buildings.

People infected with Covid are unaware that they are infected for a minimum of two weeks, but can still spread the disease. This has been common knowledge for a year. How can you be ignorant of this?

mask mandates for the general population have little effect.

Then why are countries that instituted mask mandates early on seeing lower covid infection rates and deaths?

That is false, mask use (as well as many other social distancing measures) have a huge effect in preventing transmission, that includes spreading to the mask wearer and also from the asymptomatic carriers. This has been already demonstrated scientifically, just saying things that are contrary to the scientific consensus is not a justification, it just makes clear the reason why you are mistaken.

Their leaders are morons. A danger to the nation.

Their leaders are morons. A danger to the nation.

This is true. Another problem is the bizarro-world dwellers who advocate to their friends and family that scientifically sound vaccines and peer-reviewed medical advice on public safety is wrong while they shill for Big Vitamin D Pills, and the level to which their lies are accommodated online. This is why I laud Twitter, Facebook etc. for cracking down on these falsehoods. It's too little too late, but it's something.

Unfortunately, viruses don't care about state borders, and this could hurt normal Americans.

States should ban flights from non-compliant states.

It unmasks their incompetence.

He needs to 100% prove the effect of masks. Currently 50% of health experts are suggesting just wearing a paper mask is detrimental to your health if not used and worn correctly. But Mr Gates has managed to allow people to be forbidden to access this information.
