As the band played 'believe it if you want'

its simply imply to even begin to judge how many cases unless everyone has been tested.

including post mortem.

Also Many get it and have fairly minor symptoms so fly under the radar.

While it’s always wise to doubt any figures coming from the CCP, Xi did visit Wuhan which indicates the situation there has improved.

While I get that you can't trust the Chinese government, I do have some confidence that these numbers aren't entirely made up.

The outbreak was growing at an exponential rate in China just a few weeks ago. If it had continued on its trajectory, they'd be dealing with millions of cases by now, which would be impossible to cover up.

So while the numbers can be taken with a grain of salt, I think the general message of "the outbreak is now being contained in China" is accurate. Which is a relief and does give me some hope that aggressive action can halt this thing.

Hey how about celebrating good news?

This means lives will be saved.

Very happy to hear the Chinese are getting some relief, and hopefully it’s something everyone else can learn from so that Wuhan and Italy don’t happen elsewhere.

@rainyday.

100% agree.

its important to do as much as possible to contain and try to control especially on an individual level. Delay as much possible as not to overwhelm medical capacity is second stage.

the nay sayers will believe themselves proven if it doesn't spread. Hopefully they aren't the majority.

Chinese statistics... what an oxymoron. I'd ponder whether an another reason why figures are down, is that the people doing the counting have themselves, succumbed to the virus, hence less reporting.

@rainyday Took the words right out of my mouth. And I did post similar things in the comments sections of other articles.

And for those who are still naysayers, I also say come on. I mean do you really think that the Chinese government would be able to cover up millions of infections? Especially considering the fact that their main economic drive is exports, via the manufacturing sector?

JCosplay - And for those who are still naysayers, I also say come on. I mean do you really think that the Chinese government would be able to cover up millions of infections?

Considering their past performance, the answer would be a resounding Yes.
