This shows what the American promise is worth, NOTHING! Japan after all did not help out at Normandy. If Japan gets hit, we can expect no American assistance. They will turn their tails and run.

Under any other U.S. president I would have said that you were dead wrong, but under this one I honestly can't say for sure. This one is an utter buffoon.
2020 can't come soon enough.

No one made any claims of treaties. Only you.
For the rest of us, let's keep on track.

Erdogan is just waiting for a pretext. He has a visceral dislike for the Kurds.
May the Lord have mercy !
.Those people were being massacred.

Sheesh. What a mess. The region is teetering on the edge of explosive war not seen since Yugoslavia, and Trump has allowed the fuse to be lit. This will not turn out well.
To be fair, the US did not create the situation, but historically, the US has worked to defuse, not ignore. One Egyptian politician once said, "The Russians offer weapons. The Americans offer solutions." Looks like those days are gone.

The folks most upset about what Erdogan is reputed to intend to do are those least upset when Netanyahu does it.

So Russia increases its influence, while the US recedes into the background. It's almost as if Putin couldn't have planned it any better himself...
And I think the West really should start reviewing Turkey's NATO status. At this point, what is the advantage of having them in the alliance, especially now that they are getting so close to Russia and seem to be starting down the path to genocide? Time to start reviewing NATO bylaws.

Actually, Japan did help out during D-Day. They were just on the losing team. Japan was Hitler's distraction to keep the US busy in the Pacific. Germany never really considered Japan equal. If Germany would have won WW II, they would have later conquered Japan.
However, I do understand that US promises have very little meaning under the current administration.

Erdogan is dictating the terms to Trump.

Funny, you were the one always saying that American needs to get out of these wars and mind it’s own business and now like with other liberals and Trump giving the finger to Erdogan (and for once we finally have a President that is standing up to Erdogan) and wanting to pull our troops back you still complain, so which is it?

Bass4funk: glad to see you’re on the record as supporting the release of ISIS terrorists as well as the genocide happening in Syria. Because if you support Trump’s move, the blood’s on your hands, too.
bass4funk
I never said such a thing for the record.
Not on my hands, I’m not in the ME, I’m not fighting, not a soldier. I have zero to do with the Presidents decision on this.

Yes, they did. It was Obama/Clintons reckless and illegal "regime change" operation that created the Syrian mess. The Syrian government could have dealt with the ISIS insurgency, but no, Obama and Clinton just had to support their "vetted rebels", i.e. ISIS in fine clothes, and insert US troops to help.

He was not. Can we do without making up things?

There are terrorists on all sides. Anyone claiming otherwise has simply picked a side.
We sit here watching the terrorist Erdogan do his thing with his terrorist forces in reaction to terrorism from the Kurds over many years initially caused by Turkish terrorism. So ISIS wanted their own terrorist domain....how is that worse than all those other terrorists?
