I wish Macron the best. He's much better than the human train wreck we have in the U.S.

He is essentially a technocrat from the Hollande government.  My guess is much more of the same coupled with a lot of hot air like his acceptance speech.

when Trump was elected he hit the ground running and sprang into action(good or bad). All the news coverage i have ever seen about this guy is that his wife is 25 years older and his wives daughter was in the same class at high school.

Come on guy, France is disintegrating, one in three voted for a Nazi like figure, Britexit, and how many wars is france involved in now? time to get to work buddy, unless you are just for show.

To get a country united....hummmmm. I can think of couple of ways, common interest or common enemy. I think common enemy is easier to get people united - unfortunately, that's how human are.

I miss the old Europe....maybe because I am older. France was French, Germany was German, Spain was Spanish, etc. I remember crossing borders on trains, etc. Sure the passport filled up quicker and had alot of different currencies in the wallet, but that was part of the adventure. And still, when the old Europe existed the Islamic and other cultures existed and flourished! I remember travelling to Turkey, Morocco, Egypt, etc. with my ex with very little fear or harassment from locals. The worst was when I left her alone at a Mosque (on the steps to use the toilet) but that kind of died down quickly. I think it should be OK for these great nations to be proud of their heritage and where they came from, and yes of course, each nation has its own blemishes as well.

My fear is that Macron is another globalist and he does not care so much about preserving France's culture and France as a nation and wishes to see these great European cultures and nations continue melt into one conglomerate governed from Brussels. I hope I am wrong!!
