Le Pen labelled Macron a "smirking banker"

Je parle Francais comme un idiot, but is that a common insult in French? It sounds kind of... dog whistley to me.

Brigitte Bardot votes for Le Pen and so should you!

RarePepe Today  02:27 pm JST Brigitte Bardot votes for Le Pen and so should you!

She's a burnt out old racist with multiple convictions for inciting hate. The FN is indeed the party for her, I agree comrade.

@Madverts Your opinion is not an argument!

That last sentence citing a poll is hilarious! Macron has no party to speak of.  Le Pen is an experience member of the European Parliament for crissake!  He has rich and powerful backers.    'the latest secret poll puts Le Pen at over 66 percent"! She must be the antichrist, by god... Racism is a Trotsky-invented term to bring down the community; historically tight-knit local communities.  The is nothing wrong with promoting your own, the ones who have persevered and become French; assimilation.

The faceless global village needs a new chief! Enough with the wage slave.  Bring back support for the co-operative and give power back to the locals.  She has a very brave stance against the Euro for god's sake. That certainly scares the rich and the retiring, but the blue collar and truly well educated ( he is a pampered mama's boy) will a lot of them take a risk this time, I think.  The two hundred Franc bill was a work of art.  Bring it back.  We just might then be able to buy a place in the Riviera, Ha!

@zichi It doesn't require to be politically right-aligned! It only requires common sense to see what is happening in Paris and conclude the things that are wrong with what's going on. Not everybody has been brainwashed at school by Marxism. Besides Breitbard isn't far-right. they are, if anything, centre-right. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that either as long as there are centre-left news sites like BBC.

Hah! By that definition, Fox "News" is left.

LOL. The one time I checked out Breitbart was cuz of the MSM tools on here talking about it so much. You lefties dream a good dream.

Anyone who watched last night's debate learned (if they didn't know yet) that MLP doesn't have a program per se. Her answers about the euro, French franc and ecu were quite frankly embarrassing. She was clearly out of her depth (am almost embarrassed to say I actually 'expected' more/better from her)

Like anarchists, communists, hunters & fishermen, royalists and all others who can't govern (and don't really want to), the FN and MLP in particular are decent watchdogs a leading democracy such as France needs to keep govts on their toes, but nothing else/more.

Yup. She knows, bar a freak occurrence, this is her one and only shot at the presidency. It was a Trumpian personal attack-fest that went badly wrong for her, proving to anyone but the most brain-washed that she doesn't have an effing clue about what she's talking about, just playing on fear and inciting division. Even if she did get through it's only because people got complacent and couldn't be arsed to go out and vote against her. Imagine that as a mandate.

People like to complain in France and many of the complaints are legitimate. Real change is needed, but not the sort offered by the FN. Whichever candidate wins, the real challenge for the presidency are the upcoming legislative elections - this is uncharted territory from Sunday....

Agree, madverts. I would like to think ppl finally realised last night who MLP really is & what she stands for. What surprised me most is that she was borderline insane at times, something I have never seen ( if I remember well) in French politics. I expected the violent diatribes but not so much the giggles/pseudo impersonations or bad jokes (wtf was the 'a la schlague" stuff towards the end, coming from her ffs!!! Is she mad/possessed?! Have to admit I had a good chuckle though )

I reckon this debate will hurt her big, big time.

Apparently an old German military disciplinary expression for getting smacked with a piece of wood or cane. Never heard it used here in the south but it's probably a nod at the rust-belts in the northeast, some of whom speak a German patois (and want to be part of Germany!)...

@madvert, I think it's more a generational thing tbh. My grandma (she was from the West) used to say this kind of stuff. Never thought Le Pen (out of all ppl!) would 'reconnect' me with French/German post ww2 slang. I immediately thought about Merkel when MLP (Macron knew it too btw) said it; dunno if she/Germans really know we have these type of expressions in our language. It's quite anti-german actually as it's always about the legendary teutonic discipline and other clichés. Anyway I thought it was not a very European thing to say lol. (but it was funny, sort of)

Macron has absolutely a dearth of experience in politics compared to Le Pen.

Meanwhile French people are being slaughtered in their hundreds in Nice,Paris and priests are being slashed to death in their churches during services!

France is divided and has large numbers of citizens that don't accept their own country of birth!

Recent attacks in France have shown that open borders are conducive to the ability to maim and murder.

Far from speaking nonsense Le Pen is correct to say that border controls are needed to protect French people.

The present system is leading to French deaths

Le Pen needs to gain power to stop this madness....

Unless the French deliver a protest vote of political earthquake epic proportions Emmanuel Macron will be handed what amounts to a François Hollande's poison challis of equal toxicity.

Emmanuel Macron will struggle to govern French voter expectations at the most volatile period of European history by Presidential dictate.

If there is no agreement or deal between UK and EU, not only will French agriculture, farming communities have to accept swinging cuts to cohesion CAP subsidies, but face a double whammy effect of veritable walls of import duties and tariffs. Who will be watching and waiting menacingly?, Marine Le Pen.
