If Venezuelans come out massively today, Maduro is finished. I admire the courage of the Venezuelan people, coming into the streets unarmed to face down their armed oppressors. Also, keep an eye on the Cuban agents in Venezuela. When they get ready to leave, it really is over for the dictatorship.

I feel sorry for them. First the socialist took over, there rights were gone including private property rights and firearms rights. Now basic needs gone. I wonder where are the Hollywood stars at now that loved Venezuela?

If 'the military's support is crucial to Maduro' because of his 'deep unpopularity', you can imagine how vital an illusion of military support for Guaido, who's unpopularity is an order of magnitude greater.

I wonder how much of the billions the US robbed from the democratically elected government has given to Guaido is now headed into the pockets of the 'senior general' in question?

Well, Venezuelans did 'come out massively' to the demonstrations. And the shots of the crowds at Guaido's procoup demonstrations certainly look impressive. Until, that is, you compare them to the shots of the crowds at the pro democratically elected government demonstrations. It's reminiscent of the shots of the crowds at the Trump and Obama inaugurations (right down to the difference in skin tones and apparent income levels).

How about elections for everybody, including the Presidency

The National Congress, including Guaido, was elected by the people - yet instead of respecting that election won by the opposition, Maduro ripped apart the country's Constitution and made another one just so he can have his Congress consisting of his own people. And then he had a Presidential election that barred the opposition leader from running. That was a sham of a democracy orchestrated by Maduro
