It is just a sad state of affairs for the United States, when Trump nominates perennial liar Jeff Sessions to a seat that represents the pinnacle of American Law Enforcement.
Sessions, a racist, a bigot, a misogynist, and most importantly, a documented liar, who assisted the President in a treasonous activity so he can achieve his lifelong goal of taking us back to the 60's... and I mean the 1860's.
As his boss would say.... SAD!!!

He's also just said there isn't enough evidence to launch an investigation into Hillary Clinton.

I do hope Trump's adoring fans here don't take it too badly, what with having to hold Hillary Clinton to the same standards as the man that some call... the man. I mean, there's no evidence to convict him of any wrongdoing over Russia or any sexual misconduct so he's completely wonderful, and now that there doesn't appear to be enough to go after Clinton it follows that she must be beyond reproach too. Although she was clearly terrible at running an election campaign.
smithinjapan
That's at least two cases of perjury for the man... unless he is honestly as senile as he claims to be and should recuse himself from the job, entirely, and go straight into a home.

"Evidence?! We don' need no stinkin' evidence!" - that's probably along with what came down to Jeff. And he's preparing to jump ship - a bit late, but there is little room for sympathy. Meanwhile, Congress holds a hearing on the chain of nuclear command. Just another day in Trumpworld.

a foreign enemy? Don't we buy seats on their rockets to get to the space station?

First statement:
I did not and I’m not aware of anyone else that [met with or contacted the Russians]. And I don’t believe it happened.
(Story gets reported that they have info that there was a meeting, he was at it, and he discussed it.)
Second statement:
"I do now recall" the meeting where adviser George Papadopoulos made the proposal, Sessions said, "but I have no clear recollection of the details of what he said during the meeting."
Then follows it up with:
"After reading his account, and to the best of my recollection, I believe that I wanted to make clear to him that he was not authorized to represent the campaign with the Russian government, or any other foreign government, for that matter," Sessions said on Tuesday."
From the top:
Never happened. Oh, yeah, it happened, forgot, and my memory of the details are fuzzy. Oh, yeah, now I remember one detail, where I strongly told him not to talk to the Russians.
SuperLib
We know what that means. Sessions is in on it.

Which Sessions admits can't be investigated because there isn't enough evidence. Haven't you been following the news over the past couple of days?
garymalmgren
Mueller has Papadopoulos.
Papadopoulos has a memory and a diary.
Sessions is in trouble.
Blacklabel
Did you miss where he said there could be up to 10 investigations that he is recused from?
what did he decide to “recuse” himself from? Any investigation related to Hillary Clinton or her campaign.
also said 27 investigations into leaking of information.
SuperLib
Great, so that's 37 investigations into the things you obsess over every day. Should be more than enough to find some kind of evidence of something.
And if it doesn't, well, maybe the rabbit hole goes deeper than you'd imagined....?
Simon Foston
Yes, keep wishing. Try dropping a coin in a well or something, and it might be in the news tomorrow the FBI and SWAT teams have Clinton holed up in her house with no way out.
Blacklabel
Yeah we will see what he is talking about shortly I guess. I don’t have much confidence in Sessions as he seems to uninvolve himself at every and any opportunity while others do not. But he did say there are Clinton email investigations based on new evidence.
The whole Dem response yesterday was “shouldn’t look into any crimes of Hillary because she was a political opponent”. First nothing says if you run for office and any crimes you might have done are exempt.
Second, why does no one ever say don’t look into her because she didn’t do anything? It’s slways some excuse why it’s a waste of time or is irrelevant or doesn’t matter. Never a direct statement of actual innocence.
Strangerland
The house of cards is crumbling, and the Trump "administration" (which can only laughingly be called so) is trying to catch them as quick as they can.
Strangerland
Because you cannot prove innocence without a trial, and without a trial, we cannot know she is innocent.
But what we do know, is that your team (go team red!) has already investigated her dozens of times, and literally come up with nothing, at a cost of millions and millions of dollars (from the party of so-called fiscal responsibility), based on an obsession that is really a means of diverting attention from the failure that is president.
8T
The U.S. really has everything backwards. The Trump/Russian probe is purely political, while the Hillary Clinton scandals are corruption 101. She should most definitely be investigated.
Blacklabel
So the dossier and Uranium one have been investigated “dozens” of times?
Its false equivalency to take numerous Benghazi investigations, one flawed and prematurely ended email investigation and based on that say “all things” have been investigated dozens of times and resolved.
It’s 1 thing 8 times, 1 thing once and 2 things never, actually.

Sessions is involved in treason, or at least a cover-up. He's digging his ditch around himself.

Replace Beauregard with someone who DOES have a functioning memory -- shouldn't be hard to find.

Unlike that jewel Holder. ROFL
Here we go once again with the name calling and as usual the left have zero evidence or tangible proof, just more hot air resentment and anger rhetoric. Nothing to see folks, move on....
What’really sad is the left feels thst they can call out anyone they don’t like or agree with, attack them, mock them and ridicule them, if the tables were reversed, you are a racist, intolerant and immoral for even thinking such a thing.
Madverts
Heh, the whole freaking administration are mixed in Putin's web of evil.
They're all going to jail, it's just a question of who switches first. It's well documented that there's no honor amongst thieves ....

bass4funk: "Here we go once again with the name calling and as usual the left have zero evidence or tangible proof..."
haha... no, no proof at all... except the video AND audio recordings of him committing perjury. Either that or he is so senile that he cannot be trusted and must relinquish his position in government. He helped prosecute others for having memories better than his selective memory, and even during the hearing he "couldn't recall" what he said a few minutes before!
bass4funk
He didn’t commit perjury because constitutionally he didn’t do anything wrong at the meeting, there is no one that can definitively outright say Sessions perjured himself to the point where he would be in hot water given his monumental responsibilities that he has to deal with on a daily basis. That’s why that will blow over quickly the left knows and even the right, they don’t have a leg to sit on this one.
Says you, but you are not a government official and cannot make that call, in the court of public opinion you are allowed to say that, but what you or I think is irrelevant.
So what’s your point?
takeda.shingen.1991@gmail.com
That it is utterly ironic that a man who made a living prosecuting people for perjury because they forgot something, is now having a hard time recalling numerous meetings with Russians.
Even Sessions prosecuted people for forgetting things, Sessions could certainly be prosecuted for "forgetting."
bass4funk
If there is an ongoing investigation going on as head of the DOJ, he doesn’t have give out any detailed information as to what he knows, who’s being investigated and why, he didn’t rule out of recusing himself from any possible investigation into the Uranium One deal or the Russian dossier as well.
I wonder.....
Yeah, doesn’t look like it, probably because he didn’t. Forgetting something isn’t perjury if he really and truly can’t recall or can anyone prove he really can’t recall certain conversations or meetings?
SuperLib
Are Trump fans buying the story that he forget then remembered?
bass4funk
Yes, why wouldn’t we give him a Benefit of a doubt?
SuperLib
OK, just checking. No concerns about his age and memory issues?
Strangerland
The point here is that you people have lost any credibility when it comes to your accusations against Hillary, due to the fact that you screamed she was guilty, then investigated again and again and again and again, never finding anything, always declaring that she was guilty even though the investigations found nothing.
Now you’re saying ‘but this time is different’ (aka a false equivalency). What’s that you say little boy? There’s a wolf? There, there, go on with your games.
if you expect anything other than being ridiculed when you go on about more investigations into her, then you clearly don’t understand that your actions have consequences.
Maybe be there is something to be found in an investigation into her. But unfortunately you guys screamed wolf a few too many times, and now the rest of us can’t be bothered to do anything other than give ourselves facepalms when you bring it up.
