Same thing happened to the three men on the Duke Lacrosse team. These privileged, prep school educated party boys were found guilty by the local and national media, politicians, and civil rights groups immediately. A large number of Dukes faculty and administration came out against them before the accusers case was investigated.

Yes, all men are subject to a rush to judgement by a false claim in a political environment in which women are to be believed without question and men are guilty without due process.
