America's utter failure to cope with Corona Virus is demontsrating to its people the USELESSNESS of capitalism when it comes to healthcare. Having stocks of ventilators, test kits, and so on CUTS INTO PROFITS! So GREEDY CEOs, executives, boards of directors, and shareholders say -- NO, NO, A THOUSAND TIMES NO! I WANT MY PROFITS, I DON'T CARE ABOUT PANDEMICS!

I do hope you Americans are PAYING ATTENTION! Don't you wish you had a national health service NOW, eh? -- like the rest of the developed world!

This is dangerous for the American people. He will be providing money to his business partners, to people he like and to political allies.

I hope the US people vote for a better leader this year!

A wise move...

Trump probably knew that the bloated funding for the relief fund would not have been proposed had it not been known to the politicians that those non-virus related relief funds will be distributed by those already in the position to do so. The funds are supposed to be for relief and not for some side show. So removing the obvious personnel that would have affected the distribution with or without cause was a well calculated move to assure the proper distribution of funds. He has the authority to determine when and where the funds get distributed first and be able to control that funding route.

Quick! Invoke Amendment XXV. We can no longer wait until November when the crazed Trump may attempt to manipulate the election by weaponizing the virus to remain in power. The Republic has never been in such peril since the days of Jefferson Davis.

The Trump/Putin war on American democracy continues - and the spineless Repubs in the Congress sit on their hands and do nothing...

210 days left of Trump’s presidency....potentially the most dangerous time our Constitution has ever faced.

Frightening, but absolutely correct.

Donny's main concern is himself and his interests during this crisis. He wont let anyone or anything that distracts from that get in the way

He just keeps on badmouthing everyone like a gossip mongering kid. Every school class and workplace has one. The kind whom nobody likes.

In addition, Sanofi’s largest shareholders include a mutual fund company run by major Republican donor Ken Fisher...

I'm curious to hear whether far right, pro-Trump supporters would call this 'crony capitalism' and disapprove. Or maybe see this as a form of national socialism and support their president.

We now know why Donny keeps pushing an untested drug to treat this virus:

President Donald Trump reportedly owns a stake in a company that produces hydroxychloroquine, the anti-malaria drug he has repeatedly touted as a coronavirus treatment even though his experts say there’s no strong evidence it works.

Trump “has a small personal financial interest” in Sanofi, the French drugmaker that makes Plaquenil, the brand-name version of hydroxychloroquine, The New York Times reported Monday.

In addition, Sanofi’s largest shareholders include a mutual fund company run by major Republican donor Ken Fisher, the paper said. Trump’s three family trusts, as of last year, each had investments in a mutual fund whose largest holding was Sanofi, according to the Times. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross also had ties to the drugmaker, the Times reported.

His fans would have us believe that Donny is touting this unproven drug because he cares about people getting better. Smh.

nd now blaming everyone but himself.

The cry of the pampered class 'I don't take responsibility for that'. Trump, like despots before him knows he needs to constantly find enemies for his followers to fear and hate. Watch how frequently his followers parrot his claims that 'X, Y, etal' bad'. While those same followers are unwilling to criticize him beyond saying 'other people do bad things, too'. Or maybe he was given bad info by the 'deep state department'. Or it's 'the media's' fault for reporting what he said verbatim.

He messed everything up and now blaming everyone but himself. The WHO is also in his firing line - attacked at his most recent press conference.

If he could just concentrate on the job in-hand, he might bring this to an end sooner.

Oh good, less oversight on billions of government dollars. What could possibly go wrong.

It's sad to see businesses affected but I really don't give a d*mn about Trumps'. I have a feeling he does everything, including his actions in this article, so that it somehow financially benefits him. He's a disgraceful excuse of a human being. He wouldn't even let Dr Fauci get a word in edge-wise the other day at the press conference, despite admitting that he wasn't a doctor himself, and yet touting miracle cures.

His mouth is the kiss of death as far as American lives are concerned. But when half the country is made up of minions and idiots, do we really care? I feel sorry for my American relatives who have to put up with his nasty, childish antics.

Just another example of Donny attacking our institutions. Repugnant.

Of course there won't be any mishandling of the money, right? I mean, all of the best people are overseeing the funds, and there's no way that any of that money would just happen to be funneled to Trump's family, cronies, or political allies, right?

Right?

Very fine people!

"More and more, President Trump views anybody within government who does anything that could reflect negatively upon him as unacceptable, that he seems to view any kind of accountability or oversight or a check as disloyalty,"

That's especially worrying given Trump's brand of crony capitalism (right wing term). And even more so when Jared, a serial grifter, has got a role in any of this, and as always has his pockets open. But that's to be expected when a corrupt businessmale is elected.
