Bye Barr!

15 ( +19 / -4 )

Never liked the show and not going to miss her. That said, what about Joy Behar (anti-Christian bigotry), Joy Reid (homophobe), Bill Maher ( n-word), etc. There is no defense for Roseanne Bar and there is none for any of these others either. Seems Hollywood is not all that outraged by the bigotry of their fellow Leftist radicals. Just say’in.

-10 ( +12 / -22 )

Thoughts and prayers sent to Rosanne on the loss of any personal responsibility for her own actions. Sad to see another conservative use the blame game to explain away their own disgusting behavior. Republicans, the party of no personal responsibility but lots of blame.

Trump wades into furor over racist Roseanne Barr tweet

to talk about himself, using the 'media' to make claims he's been victimized by the ‘media’. Trump and his authoritarian nationalists continue to attack the for-profit press, trying to make it less free to print and say what the press are Constitutionally permitted to. They use ‘media’ as a pejorative when what’s been printed or said contradicts their personal beliefs.

The dozens of outlets in Rupert Murdoch’s global corporate empire that praise Trump daily, the dozens of stations in the Sinclair Broadcast Group that slant news from corporate headquarters lauding Trump while smearing his opponents, the New York Post, Washington Times, Breitbart, RT and Sputnik (both Russian, i.e. associated with Putin’s global media empire), are just a few examples of media outlets many GoTrumpers are willing to believe. While somehow claiming the ‘media’ are out to get Trump.

For Americans who support Barr, here’s what she thinks about the national anthem. In her defense, she might have been on sleeping meds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ls1YVhcLD2c

I’m sorry John Goodman and others in the cast lost work.

24 ( +27 / -3 )

I wonder how Trump felt about RB disrespecting the US national anthem. Seeing as how the NFL protests get him all riled up.

As for Bill Maher being a leftist radical? He's about as radical as mom's apple pie.

13 ( +17 / -4 )

"While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication," its U.S. arm said on Twitter.

spot on !

28 ( +31 / -3 )

Poor Trump. Maybe someday he will get his apology.

And shame on the right-wing media for trying to turn conservatives into the victims. It takes a real loser to push aside the racism so you can whine to the world that you got treated unfairly in this story.

18 ( +22 / -4 )

Trump may need to apologize to a few people before he can ask for an apology himself...

Talk about hypocrisy !

20 ( +23 / -3 )

“While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.”

Corporate communications Hall of Fame material!

27 ( +30 / -3 )

Joy Behar (anti-Christian bigotry)

Never heard of her so I looked it up:

"In February 2018], Joy Behar bashed Vice President Mike Pence and his Christian faith on her talk show “The View.” Now, it has come back to bite her in a huge way. Behar responded by saying that Pence’s talking to Jesus is not a sign of faith, but a sign of “mental illness.”

“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct, hearing voices,” Behar said."

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/did-abc-fire-joy-behar-from-the-view/

Seriously, that's it? That's nothing. A very mild joke about "hearing voices" which we all know can be a sign of mental illness, and the far right is going crazy over anti-Christian bigotry? Wheesh, if you think that's bad you should hear some of the stuff that UK comedians come up with, it'd give you a heart attack. Feeble.

25 ( +29 / -4 )

That said, what about Joy Behar (anti-Christian bigotry), Joy Reid (homophobe), Bill Maher ( n-word), etc.

Take it up with their employers. Whataboutism much? If Fox want to take her on then good for them. When someone calls out a person for their actions versus a whole race can you see a difference? Religion is easy, keep it to yourself. Dan Savage calls homosexuals queers, no one minds cause I guess context is important. Barr had no context save stirring up the Trump fans. And to date Trump hasn't called out Barr. He is still focussed on 2016 and Hilary.

@Alfie,

Speaking of which,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7VrdN7TrDk

Trump would have a meltdown if he saw that. And I'm not a Boyle fan... it is even more amusing how Trump has managed to make the Roseanne incident all about himself. That's quite a skill.

14 ( +15 / -1 )

Toasted: I wonder how Trump felt about RB disrespecting the US national anthem. Seeing as how the NFL protests get him all riled up.

I am also curious to see Trump would answer that question. I could never understand why she would be chosen for to sing the national anthem. She was booed loudly just as the NFL kneelers are being booed now.

As for a Bill Mahrer being a Leftist radical? He’s about as radical as mom’s apple pie.

I don’t associate the n-word and comparing the president to a primate as like Mom’s apple pie. Guess we got different types of Moms.

How did I know that was Frankie Boyle even before I clicked the link? Love him or loathe him, he does get to the heart of the matter.

Trump's good at making stuff all about him. It distracts people from what's happening inside the US.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

I could never understand why she would be chosen for to sing the national anthem.

The Padres new owner also owned The Cosby Show and the Roseanne show. His decision to blend the businesses backfired.

Keep your eye on the ball Donny!

If its true that R Barr didn't know that Jarret was black, then the accusations of her being a "racist" is moot.

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

I don’t associate the n-word and comparing the president to a primate as like Mom’s apple pie. Guess we got different types of Moms.

As I said yesterday, I despise the word and don't care who uses it - it's vile. My point is that Bill Maher is no leftist radical, as someone else claimed.

Now, when will Trump condemn Barr for her racist comments, or will he continue to make it all about himself?

13 ( +15 / -2 )

Whether Barr had racist intent or not, I don't know - but in any case it wasn't a nice thing to tweet.

But, I do find myself wondering if people's interpretations of the remarks of others don't expose more about their own personal biases and conceptions than anything.

Has anyone ever called Trump an ape? I don't think its inconceivable that he could be described as such (and quite fairly, except perhaps to the apes.)

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Love that photo. Finally, he's playing with people of the same mental age. And no need to cheat anymore.

“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct, hearing voices,” Behar said."

LOL! Don't forget, Michelle Bachmann, who's married to one of the former patients of their cure clinic, said that Trump was sent by Jesus!

Give 'em all a straitjacket!!!

14 ( +16 / -2 )

I keep getting the image of a black lady in the spotlight as a victim of racism, then the trust fund billionaire enters, body checks her to the ground, and demands to know when he gets his apology.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

Twitter really is a home for childish, spiteful, ridiculous people who want their every whim publicized.  and sooo often those whims are just plain dumb.

11 ( +14 / -3 )

How many lies did President Trump say about ... er ... anyone he disagrees with has he called personally and apologized to? I bet President Obama hasn't gotten his call.

Same for Stormy and Rudy and any late-night comedian.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

Of course Rezident Dogdoo made it about himself...that's all he cares about. an apology for him?...he deserves much worse

9 ( +9 / -0 )

This is the new right-wing game: pretend Roseanne's comment was offensive because it insulted Valerie Jarrett individually,

They did, did they not?

not because it attacks an entire race of people as subhuman.

Common sense would already tell you that. More left wing conspiratorial Nonsense.

If you completely ignore the long history of white racists trying to cast people of color as inferior to humans, it almost makes sense.

So then why do the left Connie to perpetuate racism as well as social and economical racist policies? I don’t get it.

In truth, to a degree I sympathize with Roseanne. It's hard to know the line.

Yes, because the left has gone completely unhinged with their jihad selective political outburst.

Some outright bigoted comments get you fired. Some outright bigoted comments get you elected President of the United States. How is she supposed to know which is which?

Bigoted, thr President? Hardly.

-21 ( +2 / -23 )

You have to hand it to ABC, zichi says they essentially paid out $60 million DOLLARS to stand on the side of Humanity and get rid of Barr and her parody of the sad state of the average American, deformed in both mind and body. America, it is NOT OK to look and sound like those people do because THEY ARE MAKING FUN OF YOU. Maybe you don't get that. Go and read about how 'denial' works. Then go look in the mirror. Really.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Sarah Sanders told a briefing that Trump's comments were not a defense of Barr's tweet.

Talk about following the elephant parade with a broom and very large disposal bin. Sadly for Sanders, her lame attempts at cleanup will define her place in history as an enabler of this megalomaniac.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Poor Trump needs an apology too.

He so deserves an apology for being called out on his lies, deceit, defense of rapists and wife batterers, payments to a porn star and a playboy playmate, comfort to neo-nazis and racists, attacks on government, attacks on free speech, making our environment and water less safe, making money off of his office, hiring imbeciles, nepotism, self-aggrandizing, conflicts with allies, befriending foes and dictators, and the list goes on.

Someone should send him a cake to make him feel better.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

@Toasted:  My point is that Bill Maher is no leftist radical, as someone else claimed.

Sure he is. He is anti-religious, supports big government redistribution of wealth, gay marriage, etc. He is very Liberal on most social issues with a few exceptions- notably Islam. But I see that as being an honest Liberal given derisive opinions about Christians and Jews. He is a socialist with an Libertarian bent - as inconsequent as they are.

Now, when will Trump condemn Barr for her racist comments, or will he continue to make it all about himself?

He does like to talk about himself but I don’t know why he should be expected to say anything about Barr. The press didn’t force Obama to explain himself after the Dallas sniper killed all those cops after so many years in which he instantly accussed white policeman for being responsible for the history of racism in America.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Her jokes weren't even funny, so as a Comedian she has lost it and should perhaps seek another role in life... maybe as a minorities support officer ?

So, Trump's "weighing in" on this Roseanne Barr craziness is really just him hijacking the whole thing yet again and playing the victim. The man even did this when supposedly honoring the fallen at a major ceremony this week, making the whole thing about him and his purported successes. The man is worse than an junior highschool kid with ZERO self-confidence! He's a baby.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

If its true that R Barr didn't know that Jarret was black, then the accusations of her being a "racist" is moot.

I had no idea who Jarret is, so I did a Google image search, and she did not look black to me.

Has anyone ever called Trump an ape?

I don't know about that, but I have seen many comparing Bush to apes...

2 ( +5 / -3 )

@wolfp The press didn’t force Obama to explain himself after the Dallas sniper killed all those cops after so many years in which he instantly accussed white policeman for being responsible for the history of racism in America.

All credibility is lost when distorted interpretations like the above are made. Cherry picking from quotes and repackaging them to make a point that supports a perspective probably works best on 'poorly educated' audiences.

It's wrong for the 'media' to print fake news, to present alt facts, and distort truth, and - in my opinion - it's wrong for posters on social media and sites like this to do so, too.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

fxgai: "Has anyone ever called Trump an ape? I don't think its inconceivable that he could be described as such (and quite fairly, except perhaps to the apes.)"

We are all descended from the apes, even if certain religions might not believe it.

Oh, and Trump has been called an orangutan, probably 60% because of his orange hair and 40% intelligence.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

@bas4 Cake and lots of presents, starting with a pledge from the media to do what they should be doing and that’s telling the news, leave the gossiping to TMZ.

Why do Trump and his followers continue to want to limit what a free, for-profit press can report and how they report it? Do you want a state-controlled media like China, Russia, North Korea, Saudi, Iran, Turkey, etc.?

If what's been reported slanders or libels, the courts can take care of that. Let the markets decide; stop trying to have the state, especially the executive, take greater control.

Where is it written in the Constitution that reporting has to reflect GoTrumper's perspective?

'Free' people have more media alternatives today than any time in history. And you complain?

"While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication," its U.S. arm said on Twitter.

That’s a bad joke too. The drug Ambien can become completely impaired the person if not falling to sleep after taking the Ambien. The statement from Sanofi is so stupid.

Let me tell you about my experienced with that so called Ambien or Stilnox sleeping tablet, Sanofi marketing as "Stilnox" 10mg in Australia. I start using Stilnox in early 2000 when I got a work related injury. I was also taking strong pain killer and other medicines at the time.

First time my bad experience was, I drove a car to the City and bought some gift for to send to the Japan, but I have no recollection of driving a car to the City. My wife and our daughter were in the car and my wife told me later she is trying stops me but I didn't listen to her. I was totally impaired by Stilnox (Ambien). Fortunately, we were backed home without accident. My wife tried to stop me taking Stilnox (Amibien) after that incident, but I don’t listen to her and I continue to take it frequently.

I have no problem with taken Stilnox (Ambien) 10mg - 20mg before and it was the first time the drug has changed my behavior.

You shouldn't eat foods and alcohol after you took Ambien (Stilnox) because you won't be falling to sleep. You will become a different person and will do and talk all sorts of crazy things. One time, I have spent over $ 2,000 on eBay and I have no recollection. I have apologized to some sellers and canceled most of my purchased after I have received contact from sellers and eBay. I’m becoming completely different person after is taken Stilnox (Ambien). Also, I sent silly email to friends in unreadable spelling and nonsense because I can’t see letter on the keyboard and I was totally impaired.

I was locked up nearly 4 weeks in Psychiatrist, Hospital for my own good after a drug overdose in late 2003. I took 10mg Stilnox before bed and I have some toast and milk. I couldn't sleep and also increasing upper and lower back pain. I couldn’t cope with the pain and becoming crazy, and I lost my mind. I took all Stilnox tablets I have in the box. I believed about Stilnox (Ambien) 10 tablets were left in the box and other Medicines. I woke up in the Hospital and I have no recollection about what happened in the last 24 hours. My wife found me lying on the floor and our late daughter was on the street when she came back home from the work. She called an ambulance and I wake up in the Hospital.

The Amibien (Stilnox) sleeping tablet is very dangerous and you shouldn’t take it. You should take the difference kind of sleeping tablet if you have to.

You must not drink alcohol or eat foods after you have taken Ambien (Stilnox). Also, you shouldn’t take Ambien (Stilnox) after dinner or foods or alcohol.

My advice is, do not use Ambien (Stilnox) and stay away from that medicine.

Meanwhile a racist defends another racist , no surprise there.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Ambien's maker, Sanofi, responded. "While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication," its U.S. arm said on Twitter.

If they all have side effects, maybe we need to regain some control over our medications.

Why do Trump and his followers continue to want to limit what a free, for-profit press can report and how they report it? Do you want a state-controlled media like China, Russia, North Korea, Saudi, Iran, Turkey, etc.?

It’s already a one-sided fascist, tabloid, talking point fest.

If what's been reported slanders or libels, the courts can take care of that. Let the markets decide; stop trying to have the state, especially the executive, take greater control.

Oh, yeah?

Where is it written in the Constitution that reporting has to reflect GoTrumper's perspective?

Where is it written that the left will complain if Trump scratches his ear.

As my old next door Rabbi would say to me ( his favorite 16 year old Shabbos goy) that this is a person we can not afford. The Rabbi was poor as a shul mouse but rich in his sense humor, ecumenical spirit and charity. Miss Barr would have been seen in my opinion as tref after attacking members of her own tribe like George Soros with her anti-semetic rage. She is the perfect pawn for the recent wave of hate and blame being prosecuted out of the Whitehouse. Turn the topic of immigrants into outright discrimination into beware of those people. After all they are not like us who pray to strange gods and look so different

I would not trust Donnie to turn on a dime for the opportunity to enrich himself at the cost of his family or the nation. Mr. Kushner beware of the Pharisees among you and yours ! Ms. Barr is gone for good but this time around no well meaning Mormon healer in Utah will not interceded on her behalf. It is interesting that Mitt Romney is one of the few Republicans who claims his moral seat but was seen as a dangerous member of a religious cult by the Christiane right wing base when he was a recent presidential candidate

Until the commander in goof can do that then as far as Im concerned its open season on him, he deserves every he gets.

Zichi: Liberal, communist, leftwing, socialist, democrat, to you they all mean the same, yes!

Spend a week on FoxNews.com. It will open your eyes. They are becoming more like a Breitbart, but instead of focusing on immigrants the focus is liberals.

The problem of homelessness in Seattle has a headline about “liberal policies in danger.” They have daily articles talking about someone in the “liberal university system” corrupting our kids. It’s not MSNBC, it’s “liberal” MSNBC. An article about a state official pulled over by the cops is described as, “one-time liberal Clinton aid pulled over.”

Then check out the message boards. About 75% of the comments begin with “liberals” or “the problem with you liberals is.”

Remind you of anyone?

Do only liberals complain about racism? Are conservatives not concerned about bigotry, as displayed by Roseanne?

When Trump or one of his fans/supporters/acolytes etc does something bad like this, is it not possible to complain about what they've done without bringing up liberals?

Obviously he feels the pains of being a trust fund billionaire President takes priority over the pain regular Americans feel with racism, which isn't even worth mentioning. Now the guy who went on Fox News to try to convince the world that the last President wasn't born here is demanding an apology for unfair treatment by the media.

You agree with everything I'm saying but you won't speak out. That's precisely why Trump puts you in these humiliating situations.

Do only liberals complain about racism?

Non-stop.

Are conservatives not concerned about bigotry, as displayed by Roseanne?

This has nothing to do with Trump or conservatives, Barr is a liberal through and through, this has everything to do with her and her only. She has been saying looney things for years and years, so ABC knew full well what they were getting into when they hired her, so they have to take a bit of responsibility for this as well.

When Trump or one of his fans/supporters/acolytes etc does something bad like this, is it not possible to complain about what they've done without bringing up liberals?

Usually when Trump attacks someone is when someone attacks him, although it may not be the nicest thing for him to do, why should he take it? He's human, but with Barr, it was just her usual self, so to link the President to what this woman said is totally ludicrous. Everyone is responsible for their own actions.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

We had an incident that highlighted the problem of racism in this country. Trump pushed the racism aside and used the spotlight as an opportunity to talk about how he's a victim.

Actually he is, it's funny that Bill Maher has insulted the President, Joy Behar (repeatedly) of course it shows complete bias on the networks part.

Obviously he feels the pains of being a trust fund billionaire President takes priority over the pain regular Americans feel with racism, which isn't even worth mentioning.

Look, whatever you want to call it racism, harassment, mocking it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter if Trump started by getting a loan from his father, I got a loan as well, he was lucky, I would help my kids in a minute that's my job as a parent. Racism didn't start with Trump and it will be here way after Trump is gone, for years the Democrats have been racist and shown out full-blown racism in their language and policies and there is no one that is immune, doesn't matter if you are a liberal or conservative, it is wrong, but the liberals are so selective in their outrage, it is a completely bias on their parts.

Now the guy who went on Fox News to try to convince the world that the last President wasn't born here is demanding an apology for unfair treatment by the media.

Two wrongs don't make a right. No one said the President is perfect, but he didn't racially insult the former President.

You agree with everything I'm saying but you won't speak out. That's precisely why Trump puts you in these humiliating situations.

Hmmmm....

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

When will the President condemn Barr?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

According to the conservatives the victims of this are only the conservatives themselves.

No one said that, keep it contained, conservatives just want liberals to scale back their selective outrage.

When will the President condemn Barr?

Why? He has nothing to do with CBS or their business decisions, whether he makes a comment or not is irrelevant. Barr is responsible for Barr. There are more evil forces at work that need greater attention like NK and Iran and not some dumb TV show.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Why? He has nothing to do with CBS or their business decisions, whether he makes a comment or not is irrelevant. Barr is responsible for Barr. There are more evil forces at work that need greater attention like NK and Iran and not some dumb TV show.

He's quick to condemn celebrities who mock him. He's quick to slam NFL players protesting police brutality and racism. Quick to pardon TV celebrities.

So, sorry, Mr bass but your argument doesn't hold water.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Two wrongs don't make a right. No one said the President is perfect, but he didn't racially insult the former President.

He did, though. By claiming that Obama isn't American. If that isn't despicable bigotry, I don't know what is.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

This case is somewhat reminiscent of the drunk John Galliano who blamed sleeping pills for his foul-mouthed rantings in a Paris cafe'.

He was personally fined and fired, but that would not have affected everyone else in his company, and there was even some talk of possible future redemption.

It's silly but the context is not the same as calling black people apes. Trump is part of a silver spoon dynasty who have not come from oppression, slavery, peonage and being racially abused.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Bill Maher compared Trump to an orangutan on his show, but that is OK is seems...

Yeah, because most people are able to differentiate between a stupid joke being made as a parody of a person's racist comments, and the original racist comments themselves. They are hardly equal.
