The lobbyists are storming Capital Hill,

calling in chits and offering more money to both Republicans and Democrats who'll vote to ensure their industries and special interest groups will be the primary beneficiaries of the changes in tax policies - at the expense of the middle class taxpayer.

For a brief shining moment, a Twitter employee made America great again!

"We apologise for the technical error. The scheduled trash, grandstanding and lies will resume shortly"

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Already have. Unfortunately that means I now have to use Twitter and other sources to see the real news.

Wouldn’t have known that the uranium that Hillary and Obama sold them Russia actually did leave the USA after all without Twitter. Wouldn’t have known about a lot of things of Trump didn’t tweet them first. So Twitter is very useful when they are not acting dishonestly like they did with the Podesta emails/Wikileaks.

Where is the responsibility of these organizations to be truthful?

The likes of CNN and Fox are interested in getting viewers. Truth is incidental.

Looking at Trump's Twitter history, I'd trust either of those partisan outlets over him to be truthful. Do you really want to look at the extensive list of rancid trash and lies he's peddled on this medium? He's quoted the National Enquirer for covfefe's sake.

Wouldn’t have known about a lot of things of Trump didn’t tweet them first.

Like the recordings of Comey he lied about having? Or the recordings of the widow he also lied about having? I sure do miss a lot of "news" but not following our lyonf president on twitter. ;)

Trump tweet: primary was rigged against Bernie Sanders. Election is rigged too.

Dems and media: Trump is lying, how ridiculous and stupid!

Elizabeth Warren then: it’s not rigged you age losing fair and square so put on your big boy pants blah blah

Eluzabeth Warren today: yes Hillary rigged the election and the DNC needs to take action and apologize to Bernie.

Many examples like this of Trump tweets being proven right later.

@Blacklabel

Trump has sent out thousands of tweets taking in a variety of sources - Fox and Friends, the National Enquirer etc. Even they can be right sometimes based on the law of averages.

Now, let's think about birtherism, Ted Cruz's father involved in the Kennedy assassination, asking his followers to check out a non-existent sex tape, record numbers at his inauguration, Muslims celebrating the 9/11 attacks in New York...I could go on.

Trust the honesty of this man if you like. I'd honestly go with CNN or Fox. At least they sometimes retract and apologise.

Fair enough I can understand what you are saying. I just like he tweets and then based on how CNN publicizes that tweet or immediately or not at all, I can know if he is right, wrong or it’s headed for a media cover up.

Didn’t used to like Twitter because it’s not really interactive. But recently been reading posts from both sides of issues and getting a lot of insight into how people interact and try to push their narrative over another.

I see retractions sometimes when that media outlet originates a story. What I never see is another story later saying Trump was actually right when he was attacked as being wrong right after the initial tweet.

I think this helps him a lot with his base and media bias that the media doesn’t correct themselves later. If they would simply later admit that he was right I think it would destroy a lot of the “fake news” narrative.

A new American hero is minted.

Identify yourself and I will buy you a drink.

Do the pro-Trump outlets take him to task for the tweets dealing in sub-tabloid conspiracy theories? He sometimes gets one right but it’s a very scattergun approach. Some of Trump’s tweets are insane.

If Trump would tweet sensible things and take a measured approach rather than tweeting his latest brain fart or whatever idiotic nonsense he sees on TV, this wouldn’t be such an issue

Fox and CNN are there to make money, I don’t like the Punch and Judy stupidity but there it is.

Trump is supposed to be leading the civilised world.

Yes, I am sure that would win over a base that already overlooks repeating birther claims, Cruz's father killing JFK, lying about recording Comey, lying about recording a conversation with a gold star widow. If only they'd admit he was right, they'd totally be convinced its not "fake news." Riiigghhtt

Don't have twitter, Facebook, instgram, line... so who cares?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I’m talking about admit he is right but only when he actually is. You know like when he says Donna Brazile cheated and gave Hillary the debate questions.

of course Donna lies and says didn’t and MSM attacks Trump as a liar in multiple top of page headline articles. Yet later we find out Trump was right, but that is totally ignored. But fair minded people remember the initial attacks and wonder why there is never any acknowledgement by MSM that they were wrong. So Trump tweets it out to show us he was right.

I think the employee was trying to save the world.....

And in return, will you be willing to point out when Trump is wrong or lies? Do we have a deal?

buy the man a box or a bottle.

that guy will sitting back on his mothers couch

Some posters assuming this was a man. Is that known? Would opinions change if it was a woman?

If that former employee was that dimwitted then even more so of a reason to fire him/her.

I wouldn't call it trash

Birtherism - trash.

Ted Cruz’s father involved in the Kennedy assassination - trash.

Fake sex tapes - trash.

Shall I continue?

You’re the wordsmith here. Give me a better word.

bass4funk: "If that former employee was that dimwitted then even more so of a reason to fire him/her."

Funny, you don't share the same feelings when it comes to the dimwitted President and his even more dimwitted followers.

What's funniest about this is how utterly angry and frustrated Trump and his followers are that the man is being considered a hero in every single corner of the world; no exceptions, while Trump and his followers, and the US for having him, are being utterly laughed it. Funnier still is how that gets compounded when it in turn makes them MORE frustrated!

The Democrats/Russians colussion to interfere in American politics continues. I wonder if Hillary paid the former employee from Democratic National Committee funds.

Don't have twitter ....

I also don't have Twitter. However, it doesn't matter. Every presidential tweet will be re-broadcast over and over, ad nauseam, by the news media. IMHO, all of the news media, i.e., TV, online news agencies, newspapers, radio, etc., would do us non-Twitter users a great favor by not giving so much publicity to every single presidential tweet.

No, I think we think that the left are so beside themselves that they have to say the meanest and nastiest things about the president shows the deepest anger they have towards the president and especially his supporters.

Those of us who actually get out in the world, and don’t live inside the American echo chamber of team-party ideals know that Trump is derided pretty much across the board in pretty much every country. Occasionally you find someone overseas who likes him, but sometimes it turns out they like him because they think he is going to crash America (they don’t realize how bad this would be for the rest of us too).

You guys can walk around the US and find echo chambers of people telling you they think he is awesome, and therefore you start to believe it’s true, but that is simply confirmation bias.
