U.S. Senator Ted Cruz on Saturday

showed once again that he's an anti-democracy radical by claiming the votes cast for Trump are more important than those cast for Biden. Though according to official government statistics Biden got 81,000,000 votes (51.3%) while Trump got 74,000,00 (46.8%) in an election that government officials including the courts at all levels claimed was fair, Cruz and others in his right wing extremist faction won't accept the results. It's clear that Trump and his faction, which includes anti-Americans like Cruz are trying to steal the election and continue to do even more damage to the republic.

Normal people can see through the psychotic behavior and manipulation by Trump for profit and the ego-driven drivel by Cruz.

As Trump so famously said, "I love low IQ people."

I feel sorry for the people taken in by these evil monsters.

15 ( +22 / -7 )

Seems like he's trying to appease Trump's base to keep them for a run at the 2024 presidency. Just another slimy politician doing what he can for power.

Butthurt Republican

Here's the sophistry from lyin' king Ted Cruz (debating wiz!) and his gang:

1) Trump claimed and continues to claim that the election was fraudulent.

2) Millions of Trump worshippers believe this unsubstantiated nonsense.

ergo 3) Because millions believe this unsubstantiated nonsense, we must throw out the results of this election, except in the states where Trump won, and in the races Republican congressional candidates won.

Cruz and Hawley are supposedly well educated and "smart". Shame on them. There's something in the Bible about misleading dumb people--people like Marsha Blackburn (B.S. Home Economics) and Tommy Tuberville (B.S. Physical Education) who somehow ended up as senators.

10 ( +17 / -7 )

If I call his wife ugly and say that his father assassinated a president, will Rafael Cruz also support me?

13 ( +18 / -5 )

Just another dog wagging his tail and hoping for a bone.

Deal with it losers.

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz on Saturday said he will spearhead a drive by nearly a dozen Republican senators to challenge President-elect Joe Biden’s victory when Electoral College results are tallied in Congress on Jan. 6 – a largely symbolic move that has virtually no chance of preventing Biden from taking office.

These shenanigans are entertaining in one respect but they are having consequences. Legislation for addressing the pandemic and economic relief is being neglected because of this .

2 ( +8 / -6 )

Yuck. This creepy little lizard man, as @Puckey2 said, his wife was insulted and his father was accused of JFK assassination all by Dump, shows once again that he has absolutely no spine, not a shred of integrity. Classic Republican toad.

11 ( +17 / -6 )

The apocryphal rallying of the Trump base, pushing for protests and the blocking of politicians from being able to attend the January 6th certification seems like an attempt to create an incident in DC. Trump really has nothing more to lose. Unfortunately, expecting the calls from Trump’s lawyer and supporters for violence and execution of opposition to increase.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

Cruz -- a politician with no principles whatsoever -- is bent on getting his name in the news, and somehow thinks that alone will be sufficient to advancing his lifelong ambition to being elected president. His announcement that he'll be "spearheading" the opposition is designed to distract attention from Missouri's Senator Josh Hawley.

Using the Dems tactics against them (1969, 2005, 2017).

All good, if you have the morals of a headlouse.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

Using the Dems tactics against them (1969, 2005, 2017).

...and still losing. Nice one.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

Using the Dems tactics against them (1969, 2005, 2017).

Which Democratic Senators objected to Trump's win?

4 ( +9 / -5 )

Trump fans, make your checks payable to the Ted Cruz Reelection Committee.

He's going to make bank.

8 ( +13 / -5 )

Nah, they know their efforts will fail. This is just a publicity stunt and cash grab.

10 ( +15 / -5 )

The epitome of putting party over country. People who actually support this should leave America if they hate it so much.

10 ( +15 / -5 )

What a smarmy loser cruz is.

Shame on him.

Sold his soul

7 ( +12 / -5 )

Sold his soul

People who know him since his college days would argue he never had one to begin with. He's famously one of the most universally hated politicians in Congress, and that's saying a lot.

Hey Ted, I guess you have a hearing problem....

Trump called your wife ugly and said your Daddy was involved in the assassination of JFK...

In the parts of Texas I lived in, them was fightin' words...

And I seem to remember you called Trump a "sniveling coward".....

Well, all's fair in love and politics, right Ted?

Seems to me though that you made that "sniveling coward" comment while looking in the mirror...

5 ( +9 / -4 )

He's famously one of the most universally hated politicians in Congress, and that's saying a lot.

I think former Sen. Al Franken had some funny comments on him:

You have to understand that I like Ted Cruz probably more than my colleagues like Ted Cruz,” Franken said as the interview with Page, “and I hate Ted Cruz.”

"When most people think of cruise full of sh*t they think of Carnival. But we think of Ted."

Comedy gold.

Un-American, fascist, anti-democratic, greedy, corrupt, self-absorbed, hypocritical, evil.... this describes the current state of too many "Republicans" of the GOP (and their equally foolish constituents) right now at this moment in time.

Voting in this country will NEVER have any meaning again if they accomplish their goal of violating the most sacred constitutional right that all Americans have.

9 ( +14 / -5 )

Biden's first act as president should be to have the lot of them charged with sedition and jailed.

Biden probably can't but we the people (with our sanity still viable) can bring a case against all of these so called political officials that are violating their oath of office when the DOJ is straightened out and we get rid of Trumps loyalist cronies. We'll actually have an AG for America again, and we'd better make damned sure these bunch of freaks can never hold any modicum of power or position in any form of government again.

As an outsider looking in at the US election and it’s aftermath, the Republican approach prior to, during and after the election was to throw as much “mud” as possible to see how much would stick in order to undermine the integrity of the process. The constant barrage of baseless claims that the process is fraudulent despite no evidence to the contrary was simply to sow distrust among voters giving the Republicans a shiny object to point at if they lost. This Emperor has no clothes rationale is as childish as it is dangerous. All because some do not want to hurt the pride of the leader and his followers or to relinquish power.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Well, whatever the outcome will be all right I can say is, the left resisted Trump from day one, they called him illegitimate, they boycotted his inauguration, the NYT very first after read “the impeachment begins” for 4 years the Democrats did everything to foil and sabotage this President and his administration now liberals call for unity? Seriously? That’s not going to happen and while I don’t think this attempt will be successful, the Republicans will do everything in their power to resist and foil Biden and his people for the next 4 years. The Dems didn’t care about democracy (according to the GOP) then and the Republicans don’t care now. (according to the Dems) This is the climate we just have to live with.

-13 ( +8 / -21 )

So... no credible source disputes the complete lack of fraud in the election. Conservatives, president's own officials, etc. all agree no fraud. These people simply do not want democracy. They want tyranny. Disgusting.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

Well, whatever the outcome will be all right I can say is, the left resisted Trump from day one, they called him illegitimate,

Change "left" to "right", and "Trump" to "Obama" and you've summed up 2008 very well...

7 ( +12 / -5 )

the left resisted Trump from day one,

The "left" resisted Trump because they knew he was a moronic, uneducated, lazy, lying, narcissistic, dangerous wannabe dictator who was going to do a lot of harm the country in the next four years. Which is pretty much exactly what he did.

The right now resists Biden because they want the moronic, uneducated, lazy, lying, narcissistic, dangerous wannabe dictator to stay in power.

There's a very big difference between the two.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

for 4 years the Democrats did everything to foil and sabotage this President

If you can't grasp the difference between evidence-based investigations, due process, and legislative resistance (on the one side), and utterly unsubstantiated, judicially unsupportable attempts to cancel the results of a presidential election because Donald Trump can't handle losing (on the other side), you're beyond hope of being enlightened. Which I've known for a long time anyway.

The Dems didn’t care about democracy (according to the GOP)

News flash. No serious Republicans in leadership or media (McConnell, Nunes, Hannity, Limbaugh, Carlson included) ever actually believed this, but they sure had fun making MAGA heads think it was true.

"As if you're not going to be doing exactly the same thing with Joe Biden."

I never liked Biden and had a problem with him since 1987 so yeah.

Doesn't make you any better than "the left" then, does it.

Midnight Sun TribeToday  11:30 am JST

So... no credible source disputes the complete lack of fraud in the election. Conservatives, president's own officials, etc. all agree no fraud. These people simply do not want democracy. They want tyranny. Disgusting.

I think they want to be sweet with Trump supporters who buy into all the election fraud stuff for when they're up for re-election.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Trump will be President after January 20th.

Oh yeah? How much money would you bet on that? Put it all on, go on, all of it.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

"We are not naïve.

No, not naive at all. Insanely cynical and craven are much more accurate adjectives.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Hey Ted, I guess you have a hearing problem....

Trump called your wife ugly and said your Daddy was involved in the assassination of JFK.

I would have punched Trump in his trash-talking mouth if he’d done that to me. Imagine attacking the looks of someone’s wife on Twitter. Disgusting trash.

How these people defend Trump is beyond me. Pathetic excuses for men

6 ( +11 / -5 )

At least Biden didn’t have five bankruptcies like your boy Trump. Your boy has never started a successful business.

He has no success as a president or as a businessman.

He inherited the only successful business from his father.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Can't stand this clown. My stomach turns just hearing or reading his name.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Biden's first act as president should be to have the lot of them charged with sedition and jailed.

LOL! Good luck with that.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

And the ineffectual flailing continues. And I wonder how he feels that someone finally decrypted one of his letters.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Dems are too smart to get caught. Trump fans will just have to live with the fact that we stole it from you and Trump will be out of office soon.

And not a single Democrat arrested. Masterful.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

...Republicans will do everything in their power to resist and foil Biden and his people for the next 4 years.

Actually Trump is now doing so much to divide and rip the Republicans apart that it may not be possible for them to function as one group any longer.

The real situation is that Trump is forcing the party to split and the Hawley/Cruz political stunts are just helping that along.

After Hawley, a potential 2024 presidential candidate, gained a bit of spotlight, Cruz, another potential candidate, decided to pull a bigger stunt to steal the spotlight back. In reality both realize that it’s just a political stunt, has zero chance of success, in no way hurts Biden’s presidency, and in reality will accomplish nothing but to further divide the Republicans.

The Trumpublicans have moved so far right the see the old Republican party as a far left group while Trump himself just wants to follow in the footsteps of those he admires, Vlad, Xi, Kim, et.al.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

klausdorth Today  07:11 am JST

Cruz and those others are doing nothing else but bowing to their master. Trying to keep up that divide and hoping for some rewards! What a joke!

It looks as if Cruz is trying to do what Trump would want in the hope that in case Trump cannot be chosen as the GOP presidential candidate in 2024, Trump would tweet his right-wing followers to support him.

More than four years ago, the dangerous personality of Ted Cruz captured the attention of The Conversation editor Misha Ketchell. In his article titled "Ted Cruz, not Donald Trump, is the scariest candidate standing" published on March 23, 2016, the author noted, "By many measures, he’s a far more frightening candidate than unpredictable, truth-averse, race-baiting vulgarian Donald Trump."

Hey Republicans - "no take-backs." Felt it was important to use the language of a 7-yr old so you could understand.

To the adult Republicans, get your members under control. They are embarrassing you, your party and the USA. Unacceptable.

The GOP needs to clean house. For over 30 yrs, I almost always voted GOP. They've lost me due to all tee lies and some bad things in their platform. It isn't the 1950s guys. The world has changed. If you don't change too, the GOP will turn into the 3rd party as the Dems split in half to match what people under 65 believe.
