Three weeks ago, the UK and Japan had each recorded 21 deaths from the coronavirus. Whilst the UK now has over 3,600, Japan has only 63.
I have not yet heard a convincing explanation for the difference.

Restoration of Royal Prerogative?? Looks like this in the headline
First time since 1640, but then it ended badly, especially for the last Charles.

Thank god the queen will finally address the nation. She’s the lynchpin of British society.

BoJo needs to shift a bit of fat too.

The UK should have a coalition government of national unity. Now Kier Starmer will likely be announced the new Labour leader today, it would be a good opportunity to do this.

More like running and hiding from this major screw up by another incompetent leader!

Johnson is used to operating from the bedroom.
As for the monarchy, it's well past their bedtime.

An generally healthier population and a less touch-feely culture? That would explain some of the difference. Also, how is co-morbidity recorded?

The UK PM didn't look well on his last photo-shoot.

@zichi - during WWII the UK was less of a diverse Nation, than it is now. Sadly diversity has seemingly led to many divisions back home, notably those from doing what is seen as being not "British" by a "few" very vocal individuals - which harms the very fabric of this diversification concept within the UK as a whole.
The UK needs to weed out those few and let the rest get on with their lives as others wish to do within any normal society, regardless as to their origins.
