Is McConnell kissing up to Biden hoping his wife can continue in her high paying federal job? Not surprising McConnell congratulated Biden after Putin had previously done so.

Putin acknowledged Biden's win just before McConnell did. Not insinuating that McConnell is Putin's puppet, just how sad all of this has become.

Probably more of a matter of trying to protect his wife's family's shipping company, since his wife probably has a cozy job already lined up with The Heritage Foundation like she did before. But the Foremost Group is owned by Elaine Chao's family (Chao is McConnel's wife and the current Secretary of Transportation). To quote from the Wiki on the company:

Foremost has had most of its ships built by China State Shipbuilding, some of them financed by loans from the state-owned Export-Import Bank of China.[13][14] In 2015 it began construction of the first freighter jointly financed by banks in both the People's Republic of China and Taiwan.[6] Its ships are registered under the flags of Liberia and Hong Kong.[2][4][14] Iron ore is one of its principle cargoes.[13] 72 percent of its freight is shipped to China, with its ships operating primarily in the region of Korea to Australia,[13][2][14] but also world-wide.

of trying to protect his wife's family's shipping company,

Good point. Mitch and Trump are vying for greater control of the Republican Party. Given McConnell and Trump (and their respective families) have long had close business and personal relations with both Chinese and Russian rulers, it will be interesting to see whether both Trump and McConnell continue to use their 'foreign' connections to gain more Party control. And expand their fortunes.

after the lawmaker ended his silence on the results of the presidential election held six weeks ago.

What a spineless child.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

Timing says a political and financial decision for McConnell over the decency of democracy one. He's a weasel.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

Hold on McConnel, this thing ain’t over yet. Trump knows a guy who knows a guy whose sister is friends with another guy who knows a guy whose uncle spent time in the can with a guy who knows a guy who said he is an expert on reversing election results because he Googled it. All it takes is one phone call from Giuliani to that guy’s mom’s house, cause he has to stay there now, and poof - four more years of Trump. This was Plan A all along, that stuff about winning the election, then that stuff about winning in court, then that other stuff about winning the electoral college - all a clever ploy to distract the libs all along.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

But the burst water pipe at the polling station! Why isn’t the liberal controlled media still talking about the burst pipe!? The truth is in plain sight, everyone knows it. 70 million + people will never forget the pipe. Wait until January 6th, you’ll see.

Or something similar I expect...

"While we disagree on a lot of things, there are things we can work together on," Biden told reporters. "We agreed to get together sooner (rather) than later."

And that is why Biden was selected. Even though McConnell pulled all of his shenanigans in denying that the election had been done fairly, Biden was willing to let bygones be bygones. Working for the greater good supersedes ego. Imagine how Trump would've reacted?

The US Senate will now assuredly certify the Electoral College votes

Yesterday, a GOP House of Representative Congressman has left the Republican Party due to members trying to overturn the Presidential Election with no evidence

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/michigan-congressman-leaves-gop-over-bid-to-overturn-election

Mitchell, 64, said he voted for Trump despite some reservations about four more years of his leadership. He criticized GOP leaders for tolerating “unfounded conspiracy theories” without defending a secure electoral process.

“It is unacceptable for political candidates to treat our election system as though we are a third-world nation and incite distrust of something so basic as the sanctity of our vote,” he said.

“As elected members of Congress, we take an oath to ‘support and defend the Constitution of the United States,’ not to preserve and protect the political interests of any individual, be it the president or anyone else, to the detriment of our cherished nation.”

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh said in a statement that Warnock and Ossoff "represent the left-most fringe" of the Democratic Party and that Biden campaigning for them showed he was under the influence of that wing of the party.

And does he think Perdue and Loeffler are saints? Those two are the most corrupt, egotistical Senators in Congress. Georgians would be shooting themselves in the foot if they elect them again. Perdue dodges debates and Loeffler puts out hate ads using the ton of money she own.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

McConnell has only ever been interested in preserving his Senate majority, so he likely stayed silent up till now to drum up support in the Georgia runoffs.

Of course, he likely hurt those efforts by allowing Trump to delegitimize the voting process itself. No one is going to vote in a system they think is rigged.

Time it took McConnell to acknowledge Biden's obvious win: 38 days.

Time it took McConnell to announce a vote to replace RBG after her death: 90 minutes.

After 35 days, Vladdy Putin congratulated Biden before McConnell. For 35 days Mitch could have stepped up and shown some leadership. But no, Putin had to speak up first. I guess the moniker Moscow Mitch is well earned.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

Mitch acknowledged Biden’s victory after Putin.

Guess he was waiting for the master to do it first.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Now that Putin has broken up with trump, trump must be heartbroken!!!!

Trump continues with his frauds.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Tremendous evidence pouring in on voter fraud. There has never been anything like this in our Country!

Doesn't that man's delusional hyperbole just get tedious after a while.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Is McConnell kissing up to Biden

As long as I remember McConnell that man doesn’t kiss up to anyone. He’s probably as stubborn as Nancy.

hoping his wife can continue in her high paying federal job? Not surprising McConnell congratulated Biden after Putin had previously done so.

Not really, as most conservatives, we think you accept the results even if you don’t like them, re-strategize, regroup, plan accordingly and try again.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Just hang in there because come Jan 20th he loses his president's twitter account

But not his account overall.

and the protections that go with it.

He never had protections since it’s the hipsters private company, Trump just has 88 million followers and Twitter already lost a lot of support, not enough to put them under, but still quite a drop.

https://www.wzzm13.com/article/news/politics/conservatives-ditch-twitter-for-alternative-social-platform-parler/69-641475ca-eca3-4da6-87cc-2fb01f70332f

I think it’s great news!

His personal account will be quickly banned for abuse. He will also lose the front page media attention.

Not really, as Trump runs as a shadow President, the media can’t help themselves but to follow Trump around.

One thing that both Obama and Trump agree on - Mitch is as craven a pol as they come...

Obama: 'What McConnell lacked in charisma or interest in policy he more than made up for in discipline, shrewdness and shamelessness — all of which he employed in the single-minded and dispassionate pursuit of power.'

Trump to McConnell: "Man, you're a real snake"...

As he's done his entire political career, McConnell just threw the knife into Trump's back..

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Trump to McConnell: "Man, you're a real snake"...

A reptilian shapeshifter. Like Trump, no allegiance to country; in politics just for his personal bank account.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Twitter can probably handle Trump with post removals and temporary suspensions (like Don Jr.). Maybe if he accumulates too many of those he will get banned but it would probably take a lot and eventually he'll stop whining about the election. One gray area might be if one of his posts is an attempt to incite violence, but it would have to be pretty clear.

I think it’s great news!

Except that, after the initial surge, Parler's growth has petered out and dropped back to the small levels it was before. Much like Trump himself, most 'conservatives' are just loudmouths who can only bother to say something if it rustles the jimmies of the 'libs.'

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/12/10/tech/parler-downloads/index.html

And if you don't like the source of the story, just look up the facts on Apptopia itself.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

The president can make Tweets that ordinary individuals would be banned for.

Biden won't be like Trump issuing hundreds of Tweets by the day.

Who cares what Biden wants or likes. Trump doesn't have to worry, if Twitter wants to ban him, they’re right, it’s a private company, he just moves to Parler, helps them...a lot.

Parler is a subscription/membership site and not open to just be viewed so will have zero effect outside of its own sphere.

Sorry, people thought FNC would never overtake CNN and it did, give it time, it’ll get bigger as well despite Dems thinking otherwise.

The media have lost interest in Trump

No, they didn’t, because as long as he’s alive and has 88 million followers, as David Gergen said, he’s always a threat to the left.

I tend to agree. Smart man.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Sorry, people thought FNC would never overtake CNN and it did, give it time, it’ll get bigger as well despite Dems thinking otherwise.

Hmmmm......

“Fox News is out with another of their phony polls, done by the same group of haters that got it even more wrong in 2016. Watch what happens in November. Fox is terrible!”

".@FoxNews daytime ratings have completely collapsed. Weekend daytime even WORSE. Very sad to watch this happen, but they forgot what made them successful, what got them there. They forgot the Golden Goose.

“Fox puts Sleepy Joe (Biden) on all the time, this would not have happened with Roger Ailes.”

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Well, as a Trump supporter, I think McConnell is guilty of treason....

How could he not see at all that evidence of Hugo Chavez, Hillary, and Elvis stealing all those Trump votes....it's shameful...

Is this what the Republican Party has become? One that won't support their anointed King and Grand Wizard?

Well, if I lived in Georgia, I sure wouldn't vote for those traitor Repub Senate Candidates...

I'd write in my favorites; Scott Baio and Jon Voight...

Down with the GOP...

7 ( +7 / -0 )

There's no such position has shadow president.

Talk to Gergen, besides, the libs can’t stop him.

Trump will be an ex-president in the shadows going forward.

Like Gergen said, you just made my point for me, Zichi!

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Like I said Parlar is restricted to its own little sphere.

And is expanding the way FNC did. back in the 90’s

The majority of the voters 81 million plus who voted for Biden will have an interest in him but it won't be Biden on Twitter.

Uh-huh...ROFL

Fox News abandoned Trump already.

And Newsmax and OANN picked him up, more growing networks.

If Trump was a smart man he wouldn't have dished on so many people and states. Insulting them and then expecting them to vote for him. Instead they gave him a slap in the face rejection. Now alone and isolated in the Oval Office abandoned by his closest. Consumed with his rejection.

72+ million followers, I wouldn’t call that alone and he has the GOP by the you know what, now that’s smart.

The Trump will leave for Christmas and never return even in 2024.

He will, libs won’t stop him and Kamale will help him get to that goal.

He won't even be man enough to attend the Biden's inauguration.

I hope he doesn’t. The Dems delegitimized this President from the beginning, I think it’s fitting he can disrespect this guy as well. Lol

the media can’t help themselves but to follow Trump around.

Well, it is hard to look away from a train wreck.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

It will be a blessing to see the sane adults in charge again. The childish whining sooks will keep sniping from the sidelines though. Democracy is the winner here Hate speech, insults and lies are the loser

5 ( +5 / -0 )

The people living around Mar-a-lago have sent a notice asking trump not to move there.

Unwanted by the voters, unwanted by the courts and now unwanted by his neighbors .

I really feel sorry for this pathetic person!!!!

5 ( +5 / -0 )

In a democracy there are no shadow presidents or shadow governments.

In a democracy we have opposing views, who’s going to stop Trump from holding rallies or speaking out against Biden and his administration, the Dems did for 4 years, Trump will do the same and who’s going to stop him? He can do it legally and he can legally undermine Biden in many ways, he has conservative media, a growing populist movement, there’s nothing that can legally stop him and the Dems know this is a threat. Again, Gergen’s words. Smart man.

"In the shadows" actually means in the dark. No longer relevant!

And on the sidelines as in Trump’s case.

Does not matter how much Parlar expands, its a closed site. Only accessible if you join.

And more people will join just to follow this guy, I did snd it’s growing.

Newsmax does not have the clout of Fox News.

FNC didn’t have the the clout of CNN and they surpassed them, it took time, so they are moving in that direction.

Trump has already lost one million Twitter followers

The majority are moving to Parler, more to follow.

and the numbers of his supporters are also dropping from the 71 million who voted. Americans hate a loser which Trump has become.

Liberals keep saying that and have been.....lol

If Trump does not attend the inauguration more than disrespecting the new president Biden, Trump is disrespecting the country, the election system and the people. The senior republican leaders will be there. Trump would be unAmerican.

Not to 72+angry and disgruntled supporters, he’ll be a hero if he makes that move.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Putin should offer Trump asylum

The Rikers Island Warden...

"In the shadows" actually means in the dark. No longer relevant!

And on the sidelines as in Trump’s case.

Not on the sideline, in the cell block...

I agree - he shouldn't attend - why have one more superspreader bio-hazard event...

Not to 72+angry and disgruntled supporters...

Just read that again. It's actually quite funny.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Talk to Gergen, besides, the libs can’t stop him.

Newsflash. They already did.

Not that facts will influence you in anyway.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Twitter can probably handle Trump with post removals and temporary suspensions (like Don Jr.). Maybe if he accumulates too many of those he will get banned

He could go to Parler, except that it turns out Parler is really boring for the far-righties, "because there are no lefties to own".

It just proves that the goal of the far-right is to own the left, not to make for a better society. Useless humans.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

So have the far-righties decried McConell as a leftist deep-stater yet?

8 ( +8 / -0 )

He could go to Parler, except that it turns out Parler is really boring for the far-righties, "because there are no lefties to own".

Bingo!

6 ( +6 / -0 )

What's Trump's current approval ratings? What are Trump's approval ratings for the year? Lower than any other president in modern times.

Not among Republicans 77% or Trump supporters 85% he still has

Parlar is a closed shop

Naw, it’s expanding its format. I remember when CNN laughed at FNC ratings, now it’s the opposite

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Just read that again. It's actually quite funny.

Liberals are the real funny joke of jokes. Sadly, their policies make you want to cry.

Newsflash. They already did.

I doubt it, they’re already making the same mistakes again, case in point, losing 14 House seats I nothing to snicker at.....well, I do.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Parler has its rules too. No violent posts so there goes the extreme rightwing and the likes of the Proud Boys. The Alt Boys. The Qanon Boys.

Has nothing to do with Trump, so he’s in good standing.

At what point does Trumps continued false claim of voter fraud become a threat to national security?

Excellent question.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

The majority are moving to Parler, more to follow.

Parler will become the Radio Shack of social media platforms. Impossible to sustain a large enterprise targeted at such a narrow demographic.

Liberals are the real funny joke of jokes. Sadly, their policies make you want to cry.

Fascinating analysis.

Putin dumps his lap dog and McConnell is a rat deserting a sinking ship.
