The internet did it. Pathetic. Some other-guys did it. Equally pathetic. Youssef Zaghba did it.

Does the state return the remains of dead terrorists so they can be buried or given funerals? Part of the punishment for terrorists should be that the state has their remains destroyed so there can be no funeral, no service, nothing but ashes thrown in the trash.

the only reason these people become radicalised by propaganda is that there is justification behind their despicable acts.

Disillusioned youth. 21st century ennui. Or mental issues. Lots of factors at play. Perhaps the internet is another; swarming with angry people from every corner of the globe. Some put the anger to good use in positive ways; becoming activists and dissenters against unfair regimes. Sadly, others haven't what it takes and turn the anger inwards & decide to lash out at whoever they can.

She also said she agreed with the Muslim religious leaders who refused to recite funeral prayers for the attackers.

Collina said she would dedicate her life to fighting Islamic State ideology by "teaching real Islam to people and trying to convince families to fill the void that they might find in their children".

Good on her. Out of the misery and senseless wanton violence can come some good.

On a personal level, I'd be more in favor of teaching a little bit about all religions to the kids (if religion must be taught) and making them aware that there's room for all belief systems. Atheists included!

How the next UK government responds to suspected radicalized Islamic jihadists that fester an extreme belligerent hatred of western ideals, freedom, equality, democratic government , etc  within communities will be crucial to restoring some faith and confidence that when UK police/security service armed with the knowledge that Islamic fundamentalist preachers of hate are stirring, inciting, radicalizing racial and religious hatred actions can taken that can prevent them from provoking atrocities.

That is only of the questions voters should consider on Thursdays General Election. Without overstating or dramatizing these appalling extreme barbaric acts all of which could have been avoided. Because intolerably, unacceptability the UK establishment has failed to act on evidence reported time after time.

I would suggest that politicians have been complacent, if not negligent in failing to debate openly about clearly difficult politically sensitive decisions that need to be taken.

Unfortunately, many of the religious seem to think segregating children according to the religion of their parents is a good idea.

Not a good model for social cohesion. I heard plenty of swipes from my teachers about 'proddies' and 'the orange' when I was a kid.

And a tool can't be blamed only the ones using it

Under current legislation, especially in connection religious freedoms contained within the human rights act it is far from a simple task to restrict future acts of terrorism.

Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief, in worship, teaching, practice and observance.

I meant just one of the questions voters should consider on Thursdays General Election. My mistake

May's tough talk yesterday should be enough to take her over the line, and Diane Abbott's inexcusable incompetence on anything to do with this issue is breathtaking.

Land of dope and Tories. I couldn't find a way to insert jihadis into that title.

Diane is keeping a low profile the last few days. Probably for the best.

Hi Jimzo, I am hoping at the very least voters turn out, especially the 18 to 25 group. This election campaigns have been the most disappointing in my 28 years. I won't pretend to be a Corbynite, or Farronolic . But it is safe to say, I wince at the thought, prospect or accusation of becoming  Maymented.

This election must rank as one of the most momentous, consequential for many generations. A landslide for Theresa May would be a vote for a more autocratic form of government.

I turned the sound down half way through Diane Abbott interview. What was Abbott thinking about, it toe curling to listen and watch. When comparisons are made from May 2017 local elections results at least two pollsters appear a tad bonkers.

There is a theory behind estimating constituency by constituency prediction/projection theory and modelling a voting pattern percentage but it's a tad hit and miss.

If any of my children committed such a evil act. I have to blame myself and kill myself as a deterrent to these evil young men. These Parent should start showing their misguided young men, this is what will happen, if you go and commit these act of evil in the name of a religion that the parent encouraged. These people, protect their ideailog by saying their young men are mislead. Their is way too many young man being mislead. This must be centred around the islamic household. The lack of moral guidance in Religious household. Either it is lack of Parenting or the religion. These households will swear blind that the religion they teach is peaceful. No wrong. This religion needs a totally overhaul and the book rewritten. If not throw the parents in goal for life. These Parent totally discuss me.

What concerns the most is many students chose UK universities to study. I have positively encouraged company employees with sponsorship programmes to gain higher qualifications at Universities in London and Sussex providing a undertaking to parents/families a duty of care for there loved ones.

With the arbitrary nature of these attacks I am beginning to question that policy and have researched moving students to Nagoya.

Jimizo, apologies for misspelling your name.

Well, if you're going to rewrite the Koran, how about the Bible and the Torah. Put all the monotheistic old school stuff together and reboot the franchise.

Jailing the parents; an inspired idea. Let's face it; there's no such thing as responsible parents these days. They could all do with a bit of porridge.

They disgust me, too. Having the temerity to bring up kids without 24 hour supervision, no external stimuli and total mind dominance.

Best jail the grandparents too, just in case.

Meanwhile, back in reality - Valeria Khadija Collina did her best to keep her son on the straight and narrow but bored, disillusioned and easily swayed youth will often prefer their peers to any amount of parenting. And with so much hatred in every available byte online, someone, somewhere is bound to be radicalised. And I'm not just talking about the kind of radicalisation that leads to Islamist idiocy, either.

The internet and London did it. Pathetic. He tried to travel to Syria before he went to the UK, and I find it hard to believe his family and friends didn't notice his changing attitudes and behaviour. He didn't exactly keep them secret.

Good idea. However, I'd say the Jews and Christians have done a far better job in ignoring the horrific passages in their books.

This tends to be more difficult when the mainstream believe their book is the flawless work of the creator, which is good for all times, and is never to be superseded.

Nothing arouses human passions more than the sight and smell of blood. Graphic, bloody scenes of killing and maiming and the dread sight and sound of the suffering of women and children will whip the human heart into paroxysms of fury and hate and trigger extreme emotional responses that cry out for bloody revenge as the only way to assuage the ferocity of people's emotions. Arabs and their Muslim brethren feel these extreme emotions more than we in the West because of the unimaginable suffering wrought on the peoples in the Muslim world. The Internet amplifies these passions because of the immediate access to graphic content that the 'cool' medium of print denies. No wonder governments fear the Internet as a medium they have not yet figured out how to control and exploit in order to to compel compliance from their citizens. It is interesting to note that Japan is ranked 72nd in the world table of freedom of information, thanks to the collusion between the LDP and the JMSM keeping a very tight lid on what the mono-lingual Japanese people know. Indignation and outrage are rarely expressed openly in Japan.

Yeah right.

Blame the Internet.

Look first towards yourself. What was it, that turned your Son away from your Family's belief of Love towards thy Neighbour.

No, YOU are Guilty, for encouraging the environment that led to your Son to become a hater of all else. You, yourself need, to answer that question, upon why ? And not, ... simply blame it on... the Internet.

This poor woman, should be considered as hiding the poker she used to stoke the fire. If she were to be more open, about where things may have gone wrong, then that may be more constructive towards helping an integrated Society, rather than the very Polarised one that it is heading to right now. ...

All these people blaming the mother and saying "the internet? yeah, right... nope!". We only have to see the comments on this site, and they're both relatively mild and moderated, to see there are extreme views on issues. When we let impressionable individuals onto extreme sites, then yes, the internet is to blame. Any parent knows that they can't moderate their child's online activity 24/7. It is, though, up to the parent to teach their child who to process information and determine fact from fiction. Unfortunately, from what I've seen, this is a skill fewer parents have these days, so it's hard to have high hopes for the generations that follow... :(
