With the allegations on him and the sexist boorish remarks he makes and his blubbering lust for his daughter, Trump is being a hypocrite himself and has no credibility to say anything on this matter.

Dsnt Trump have to settle and pay $25 million for his con?

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Typical victim shaming, which contributes to 2/3 of all sexual assault going unreported in the US.

I think Don the Con, is trying to con us into thinking his Kavanaugh con is being conned.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Trump and his fellow 1950's era males once again demeaning women and victim shaming.

In Trump's defense, very few know the con game better than him. But that doesn't excuse his repeated defense of entitled class mashers. On a con game note, does anyone know if Trump's reported the cash 'foreign' oligarchs paid him when they bought some of his condominiums? Has he released his most current tax info?

5 ( +8 / -3 )

If Trump truly believes it's a con game as he says it is, then all the more reason to order an FBI investigation to get to the bottom of the matter.

But, alas, he won't. Why not?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

No Trump supporter has yet to work up the courage to answer my question:

Why is it necessary to rush through this confirmation? Why can't we slow down and investigate it properly?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

It bears repeating, for those who did not pass middle school civics.

The United States Senate is a separate, co-equal branch of government.

Senators do not work for the President, nor do they need his permission.

For anything.

NO, the criminal Trump has not released his current tax info, or last year's either. He says, 'I can do what I want'. He is a narcisstic egomaniac and a spoiled brat and NO - he hasn't obeyed ANY laws or done anything legitimate or legal. Does that answer your question?

It's because they lack the intellectual honesty to provide an answer. Also, they know whatever answer they provide will be defeated by their performance with Garland.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

I will answer.

Blocking Garland was pure power politics. Cloaked in precedent, but political opportunism at heart.

The Democrats are now returning the favor. They can't do it with votes, so they are doing it with smears and grandstanding.

Welcome to Sodom on the Potomac.

That's not an answer. That's an attempt at a justification. I asked why we can't slow down. You're trying to tell me why Republicans won't slow down, and even then you're trying to dishonestly pin Republicans' choice to rush through this confirmation hearing on the Democrats somehow.

Again, why can't we slow down and do this investigation properly?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Blocking Garland was pure power politics. Cloaked in precedent, but political opportunism at heart.

The Democrats are now returning the favor. They can't do it with votes, so they are doing it with smears and grandstanding.

While I agree fully, and support the Democrats in playing the Republican game against the Republicans, the existence of political grandstanding does not logically determine the accusations to be false. The truth or falsehood of the accusations themselves are not determined by the existence of political grandstanding, the truth or falsehood is determined by whether or not the things accused actually happened or not.

So while it's very understandable that the Republicans would be frustrated by having to deal with the political retaliation for their own actions just two short years ago, it's ridiculous that they would try to sweep these accusations under the rug without properly investigating them, as political retaliation aside, the truth or falsehood of these accusations needs to be determined before putting a man on the highest court of the land for the rest of his life.

That's what makes it a brilliant political move by the Democrats; everyone can openly admit it was done politically, yet it still needs to be investigated regardless.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Agreed that it was a brilliant move by the Dems. Senator Finestein keeping the accusatory letter secret until after the hearing was basically finished was a master stroke. However, IF she had truly been interested in justice for the alleged victim, she would have taken action much sooner. I guess after waiting 35 years, she thought that waiting another 35 days was no big deal. This does however, speak to how little the Democrats are concerned with the truth of the accusations as opposed to the utility of keeping the accusations secret until the best politically expedient opportunity.

It has just recently come to light that the second alleged victim, Ramirez, was not a willing participant in the process. According to Ronan Farrow, the Senate Democrats sought her out, and kept her in the wings until it was a good time to deploy her. Now she is refusing to testify under oath. As an aside, hopefully Ronan can recover some of his reputation after this fiasco. He did some great work exposing Harvey Weinstein and has a bright future if he can avoid being used like this.

Now? Time has been wasted. Anyone can investigate if they want. The FBI is no magic source of independence or brilliance. The Senate has its own investigators who can easily take over. Since the alleged crime was a state offence (not federal), the law enforcement in the jurisdiction it allegedly took place can also freely choose to investigate, no matter what anyone else does.

The problem is that, given what we know now, there is nothing TO investigate. No physical evidence, no photography, no contemporary witness accounts, no records of any kind of police or social involvement. Only innuendo and memory, both of which are fallible and have limited value.

For those who moan about 'cabals' led by the elite, here's an article written by a participant in a GOP (speaking of elite cabals) led effort to further the Republican Party's control using malleable hawks like Kavanaugh. These are NOT nice people. They care jack-nothing for anyone outside their class.

This is interesting, this thread is about Kavanaugh and yet everybody’s talking about Trump and his taxes? Too funny.

Oh, please! This woman doctor ford her story and slowly falling apart has more holes in it didn’t switch cheese she wants to do this and she doesn’t wanna do this she wants me to stick me she doesn’t want to make a statement first she doesn’t want all these old white men to interview her, now she wants a woman, but the left thinks it’s sexist And on and on. I have to admit, their games were amusing, but Grassley is right, here what this woman has to say and move on with the vote otherwise, the left will try and bleed this for as long as they can, we all know it. The GOP have been way to accommodating and overly careful and now that the creepy porn lawyer is involved just shows you how bad these people are, so much so that even crazy people like Mika and far out there Jeffery Tobin are saying this is really getting to be too much.

Switch cheese? Have you been drinking? In that case, I don't think your statement has any credibility.

Why do Trump's stormtroopers support sex pests - is it an entitlement thing?

Typo, sorry, “Swiss.”

Why Do Trump haters support con artists?

Perhaps all victims of sexual assault are con artists in your world. But you haven't answered my question, you've deflected yet again. So it's not worth continuing the discussion unless you'd care to posit a suggestion as to why you dismiss sexual predators like Moore, Trump and possibly Kavanaugh.

I don't see you dismissing the likes of Cosby, Franken, Spacey and others.

Why is that, I wonder?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Perhaps all victims of sexual assault are con artists in your world.

No, just the ones trying to block a conservative nominee at the 11th hour.

But you haven't answered my question, you've deflected yet again. So it's not worth continuing the discussion unless you'd care to posit a suggestion as to why you dismiss sexual predators like Moore, Trump and possibly Kavanaugh.

I don’t dismiss them, if the allegations are true, with these men, we just a few women saying this allegedly happen, but we have way more that said it didn’t. So I’m neutral on that.

I don't see you dismissing the likes of Cosby, Franken, Spacey and others.

Because the evidence as well as with Wiener and Weinstein, Ellison, Spitze were so overwhelming unlike the others.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

No, just the ones trying to block a conservative nominee at the 11th hour.

And those who spoke up against Democratic politicians late in the day - are they to be dismissed as well?

I don’t dismiss them, if the allegations are true, with these men, we just a few women saying this allegedly happen, but we have way more that said it didn’t. So I’m neutral on that.

Neutral? You've just said just the ones trying to block a conservative nominee at the 11th hour.

Hardly neutral, if you're hoping to be consistent.

Because the evidence as well as with Wiener and Weinstein, Ellison, Spitze were so overwhelming unlike the others.

The evidence for Trump and Moore was overwhelming but you still support them all the way.

Trump even boasted about his assaults.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Yes, Trump is the level of "decent upstanding citizen" that they adhere to. So anything equal or below his actions is passable from their view.

Ever heard of a thing called the local police department? Ford should have started by filing a police report, which, if she's not lying, she should have done 36 years ago.

Yes, there should be an investigation - after Kavanaugh is confirmed, they should reconstruct the chain of custody of the "Ford letter" to determine who leaked it. They should also look into the Democrats' coordinated efforts to subvert the SCOTUS process as well as the accusers themselves and charge them with making false accusations causing grief for the falsely accused.

Oh my!

This is one of those “everyone is laughing at you” moments like Trump just had at the UN.

Embrace it. It’s your only choice.

Ever heard of a thing called the local police department? Ford should have started by filing a police report, which, if she's not lying, she should have done 36 years ago.

Ever heard of a thing called trauma?

I hope the males here never have to go through an horrific ordeal such as sexual assault or rape and then be told by others how they should have behaved.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I don't expect liberals to understand accountability and responsibility though, you don't learn those things living off of welfare.

I don't understand why Republicans sneer at the unemployed, as if they are somehow superior to marginalised folks out there.

I mean, one moment they're lambasting liberals for being rich and out of touch and the next they're laughing at liberals for being poor.

Which is it? As you've told us before, you can't have it both ways.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Ever heard of a thing called the local police department? Ford should have started by filing a police report, which, if she's not lying, she should have done 36 years ago.

"Ever heard of a thing called trauma?"

Yes.

OK, 30 years ago ( gives her 6 years )

OK, 20 years ago ( gives her 16 years )

OK, 10 years ago ( gives her 26 years )

OK, 1 year ago ( gives her 35 years )

OK, she can do it next year.

Looks like the Kavanaugh confirmation is going to be Judge Thomas 2:

The MSM continues to be complicit in aiding and abetting the Left in its goal of destroying our country. Who is it who said the Fake News was the enemy of the people? He was right again.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

And those who spoke up against Democratic politicians late in the day - are they to be dismissed as well?

Pretty much.

I don’t dismiss them, if the allegations are true, with these men, we just a few women saying this allegedly happen, but we have way more that said it didn’t. So I’m neutral on that.

Ohhhh, really?

Neutral? You've just said just the ones trying to block a conservative nominee at the 11th hour.

Not these Democrats

Hardly neutral, if you're hoping to be consistent.

You can be neutral and consistent.

The evidence for Trump and Moore was overwhelming but you still support them all the way.

Trump even boasted about his assaults.

Neither were convicted and unless there was physical, audio tapes, tangible evidence, it's all alleged. So until something damning comes out that solidly and concretely can show that these men did indeed commit these crimes, Yes, I will support them.

You seem to have a much lower bar for proof with all of your theories about the FBI.

@Toasted: Why do Trump's stormtroopers support sex pests

Probably for the same reason that Bill Clinton’s brownshirts like Senator Gillibrand, Hirano, Hillary and the rest of the Democrats gave their support to Bubba - a credibly accused rapist and serial sex offender. We are now told to “Say their names!”. Kathleen Wiley - sexually assaulted in the Oval Office, Paula Jones - commanded to “kiss it”, Juanita Broderick- raped and told to put ice on her badly bitten lip. I suppose it all just comes down to political power. People will see what they want to see to be on the winning side. It’s been 25 years but it’s never too late for the FBI to investigate as Broderick has requested .

Dems are so desperate to save Roe vs Wade that they are willing to lie and defame a well qualified nominee. I have no doubt that tomorrow Feinstein will unleash more ridiculous allegations - maybe accuse Kavanaugh and his wife of molesting a troop of girl scouts. I would not be surprised based on what she has pulled so far.

I just hope that whatever happens that Amy Coney-Barret eventually winds up on the court and drives those crazy feminists out of their minds. No doubt we would get more yelling and screaming about how men should stand up and remain mute in their presence. Good stuff.

Yell and scream all you want but everyone remembers that Dems went to the wall for rapey Bill. Their party leader Keith Ellison is being accused right now by a woman. None of the feminists seem to believe her. The Dems set the standard - live with it.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Trump said Ford's allegation was 36 years old "and nobody ever heard about it." Of Ramirez's allegation, Trump said: "And now a new charge comes up. And she says: 'Well it might not be him.' And there were gaps. And she said she was totally inebriated, and she was all messed up, and she doesn't know it was him, but it might have been him."

The second Democrat con artist's case/story/fantasy seems to be based on the fact that she, herself, thinks "it might not be him". Another extremely solid Democrat Party con artist/witness. The Democrats are flushing their own credibility down the toilet. Again.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

katsu78 - Why is it necessary to rush through this confirmation? Why can't we slow down and investigate it properly?

Elected Democrats are only seeking to "resist" anything, and everything, the Republicans attempt. SSDD. Neither witness seems to be credible. Neither can actually remember what happened, or if anything happened.

If Democrats wanted to have an actual investigation, they would have contacted the local police, or the states district attorney. "If" they had wanted an actual investigation. Better luck next time.

Why do Trump's stormtroopers support sex pests - is it an entitlement thing?

Trump brags about abusing and assaulting women, he boasts about barging into the  America contestants' locker room while they're changing, he blubbers lustfully about his daughter and says he wants to MARRY her, there's a lot of disgusting pictures of them 2 together, so much more - he supports sex pests because he IS one too. His  stormtroopers are the same way because he is their leader, their daddy and their 'master Yoda', their Buddha and their god. That's the Church of Benedict Donald.
