I love Mr Trump he's so eloquent, articulate, and sophisticated, soon he will be using crayons to write his name!

How does a wall help save people who die on a journey up? Especially considering most of them walk up to a port of entry and ask for asylum...They aren't going to suddenly give up because of it. Do you give up on your dream because someone tells you no or tries to stop you?
Laguna
Wow. Look at that photo. Trump has always been petulant, but the stress of a Dem House is clearly getting to him.
Bintaro
I don't get it. Do they die, then come back to life and raid houses ? Is it a zombie invasion ?
Sad that only good people die, and bad people arrive. So sad.
Yes ! They will just bump their head on the wall again and again like moths until some come pick them up.
They won't come because none of them has any idea how to climb something, and they will never think about bringing tools !
Seems like the nurse forgot to give his meds to granpa again !
sf2k
huh? What is he even saying? Take the code away from this thing
Deadforgood
Lol, good point. Although I'm sure some soldiers would also feel like their positions are being wasted.

Maybe he ought to get Mexico to pay for the wall like he promised...
What happened to "Mark my words, mark my words"?
Deadforgood
Really?...
CrazyJoe
Trump isn't interested in actually understanding the situation and coming up with a solution. That would take work. All he's interested in is touting his "Wall" BS to rally his base, pushing simplistic non-solutions, and finding scapegoats.
Deadforgood
No, it doesn't. And neither do the mass of immigrants applying for asylum and green cards. Which is the majority of the people being held in holding cells while they await the looooooong application process. Trust me, IVE BEEN THROUGH THIS AND ITS NOT FUN...
Goodlucktoyou
If I was a us soldier I would rather be sent to the Mexican border where I can eat cheap Mexican food and drink tequila, than Libya, Afghanistan etc.
Deadforgood
Here's the way I see it. Either you have money (approximately 1,500 usd, more if you need a lawyer), internet, resources, family member or sponsor (depending on this person, your application could take anywhere between 1 to 30 years to process), and you can apply to USCIS for a green card to immigrate to America. Or, you need to show up at the border and apply for asylum to gain entrance into the USA (this is the fastest, most affordable, and pretty much the only option for a lot of these people, and yes, its legal). The government does not make this easy. I will tell you from experience, USCIS and the NVC will rarely respond to questions about applications so even if you do happen to have the luxury of applying (yes, applying for immigration into the USA is a luxury), you are basically waiting in the dark for a long time. And if you don't have the luxury, you are labeled a rapist, murder, etc by Trump and his base. I get it, illegal immigration is not good, that's why I have legally applied for family members to live and work in the USA. But the problem isn't a damn wall, its the system, its the current situation down south, its a lot of stuff...but its not the wall. Trump has literally offered no solution to this, and the wall is not going to work.
Strangerland
So it's very clearly a Republican problem. The democrats didn't control anything during those two years.
It's your own team that doesn't want the wall.
Deadforgood
The number of people who do this now is incredibly low.
lincolnman
Of course we need more military at the border - they're needed to convoy all the illegals to Mar-A-Lago or Trump Golf Courses for jobs...Trump knows they work cheap....
pointofview
Can't just walk in.
Toasted Heretic
Hopefully, Mexico and other Central and South American states will respond accordingly.
And of course, make sure the dear leader is on the front line.

Just because you don't like the solution put forth, doesn't mean it hasn't been proposed. https://www.npr.org/2018/01/25/580858256/white-house-releases-draft-immigration-plan
It addresses DACA, chain immigration, removes the lottery, and adds physical barriers.
It is missing the mark on a few elements. Penalties for people/companies hiring anyone inside the USA illegally. A solution to allow seasonal migrant workers, provided they return home each year, don't bring families with them, and asylum rules that force legal entrance at a controlled border, or automatic deportation. The US should learn a little from Japan in these immigration areas, but not learn so much as to only allow 50 asylum seekers annually, if that.
I'd like to see birthright citizenship limited to babies with 1 parent legally in the USA too, but that is probably impossible without a constitutional amendment and 2/3 of the country agreeing. Not likely.
With all these changes, there won't be a need for a border wall, since people who cannot work legally won't jump the river/fence and employers getting fined 2x the annual salary for each illegal worker will be out of business quickly.
I don't have much hope of Congress (both houses) coming up with a viable solution.
Serrano
Hopefully, Mexico and other Central and South American states will respond accordingly.
I can guarantee you, Toasted, that your hopes are going to be dashed.
We all need to solve this problem and discourage illegal economic immigrants, make it impossible to find work inside the USA by punishing everyone involved.
Be way better to prevent these people from entering illegally in the first place. And we're swamped with so many, we can't punish everyone involved.
FizzBit
You misread my comment, that’s not what I wrote.
lincolnman
Another diversion - just can't answer the question, can they...
Maybe you ought to stop your President from giving them all jobs at his properties...
SuperLib
Always with the fear.
Send a million troops if you want. Better drama and headlines.

Hyperpole much?
Just under 400K crossed the boarder illegally last year https://www.factcheck.org/2018/06/illegal-immigration-statistics/ . It might not seem like a huge problem to you. It does to me.
Trump's entire suite of companies only has 22K employees.
Lest the Obama fans think his border and immigration control was perfect, they had over 30K pages of allegations of mistreatment and rape. https://www.aclu.org/blog/immigrants-rights/ice-and-border-patrol-abuses/border-patrol-was-monstrous-under-obama-imagine

Joe Blow
Does your dream involving breaking the law?
This sort of rhetoric gets the wrong people right in the feels, but it's just that, rhetoric.
Serrano
Maybe he ought to get Mexico to pay for the wall like he promised...
No maybes about it, you ought to admit we have a crisis at the southern border with our border patrol overwhelmed and migrants having their lives put in danger which could be avoided by having a decent physical barrier.
Kaerimashita
Send in the Marines!!
Serrano
"I'm going to have to call up more military," Trump said.
All because Congress can't seem to get it together and fund our border security.
Trump is going to use the military to secure the border in the near term. We must vote out the Democrats and RINOS who are obstructing the president from doing what he was elected to do - secure our border.
He may have to close it for awhile. If that's what it takes to get the Mexican government to stop these people before they get to the border, so be it.
Serrano
CrazyJoe: Trump isn't interested in actually understanding the situation and coming up with a solution.
You're confusing Trump with yourself and the Democrats, Crazy. It's chaos on the border, our border control are totally swamped, we need a physical barrier, it's not rocket science. Jeez...
Serrano
Serrano he had 2 years where Republicans had both the house and the senate
I've explained this before - too many RINOS. Have to get rid of them as well as the Democrats.
Yes, Trump has had to deal with idiots in both parties.
