This couldn't have anything to do with the ludicrous amounts of money Trump and the Kush get from the Saudis, could it?

Good to see the President refusing to get the IS involved in another country’s issues. America first.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Trump is defending Saudi Arabia because of his financial interest there despite their role in a brutal premeditated murder.

Remember when Republicans were screaming that Saudi donations to the Clinton Foundation would influence US foreign policy?

How quaint.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Who ordered the death?

Why did Saudi Arabia have a death squad and bone saws in its Turkish embassy?

What messages has the US intercepted from the embassy to Saudi Arabia?

Why did the Saudis deny the death and have embassy staff wear Khashoggi’s clothes and parade around outside the embassy?

Where is Mr Khashoggi’s body?

And why do the Saudi Arabian authorities condone such

barbaric methods of dealing with people?

President Trump should ensure the answers to these questions are answered before selling more deadly weapons to such a regime.....

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Well someone just got a license to kill.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Since most of the Trumpets wouldn't know Saudi Arabia from Sweden, its not a high priority for genius Donny.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

His comments contradicted the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)

Trump was quickly accused by Democratic lawmakers of undermining his own intelligence agencies

Trump continues to undermine intelligence agencies, but they are NOT his own. The US is not a Russia or China type state run by and for the protection of a despot. Yet.

His son-in-law Jared Kushner has developed a close relationship with MbS,

A closer audit of Jared and Ivanka is needed to see where all they're getting their wealth and whether they're using their roles in daddy's White House to increase family fortunes.

Trump's tax info must also be released. Has he sold properties to Saudi princes, to Putin's oligarchs, to Xi's CCP members?

But Trump's armies of lawyers and accountants might be finding ways to protect him from paying his fair share of taxes. After all, the Trump GOP tax breaks were for his benefit and the benefit of the .01%

And it could be Trump's being protected by his private 'deep staters' in the Internal Revenue Service, the US tax agency.

Or like liberals that don’t know the difference between homeland security and economic dependence and the ramifications over alienating the Saudis. I purposely don’t like the outcome of this, don’t like these people, don’t trust them, but I totally understand. Now if you want to throw the US economy in a turmoil in really make it bad for the entire country then go ahead and send Shane the Saudi’s and call out the crown prince and watch what happens, until we can continue to Frak into we can continue our energy independence in the Democrats can’t step out of the way and continue with the Keystone pipeline, we can do this, we won’t have to be beholden to the Saudi‘s and then one day we can tell them to jump off a cliff , but until then we need them.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

@bas4 but until then we need them.

What the US and any of its remaining allies need to do is more quickly develop alternatives to burning so much oil and gas.

Dinosaurs like Trump and his enablers in the GOP who want to burn larger amounts of fossil fuels (coal? seriously?) need to be replaced.

The US needs to stop subsidizing the oil industry, to stop spending trillions invading sovereign nations to take their resources.

The US needs to stop partnering with brutal regimes that butcher and poison (e.g. dioxin-ate and Novichok-ate) their opposition.

My kingdom for a period, a semicolon, god, even a dash.

Shorter GOP talking point: Why would we care that they murdered an innocent journalist. I mean, let's be honest, we secretly wish we could rendition Jim Acosta to a black site for re-education.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Donny inflated the job impact of Saudi arms deal, the facts are out there you just need to read.

But then again dont let facts get in your way.

I totally agree, but until then and until we can replace the millions of cars, machinery and items that need oil, we need the Saudis.

Dinosaurs like Trump and his enablers in the GOP who want to burn larger amounts of fossil fuels (coal? seriously?) need to be replaced.

Ok, so how we going to functions, what is going to happen with the cars in the Plains? Liberals don’t think about that, they just emotionally react as usual.

The US needs to stop subsidizing the oil industry, to stop spending trillions invading sovereign nations to take their resources.

So then liberals and Democrats should step out of the way of tracking in the environmentalists should stop protesting blocking the keystone pipeline and allow for energy independence to grow.

The US needs to stop partnering with brutal regimes that butcher and poison (e.g. dioxin-ate and Novichok-ate) their opposition.

Again, I agree. But as long as the Democrats and liberals are blocking attempts to achieve energy independence, we will always have this unholy alliance.

The Saudi Prince could have been caught on hidden camera killing Khashoggi and trump would still stand by him.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

”standing by” someone is much different than choosing not to get involved. So what has Japan done about this crucial world issue? UK? France? Australia?

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

so yeah that’s a long winded response to say he wasn’t a US citizen nor an actual “journalist”.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

He has brought the integrity of America, long seen as the leader of the free world into disrepute.

Let's not call a spade an earth removal instrument, a horticultural implement or a big spoon with a handle.

What he has done - is doing - is prostituted America: he states clearly, arrogantly and proudly that the Saudis pay enough to be able to make the US roll over and provide the goods.

And the goods are not a bit of feel-good, but weapons of death.

So he's also saying that America relies on war and killing, including the bombing of babies, to maintain the lifestyles of its workers. Lifestyles that are also propped up (for the time being) by outdated fossil fuel energy that is steadily destroying the environment and changing the climate.

MAGA - Make America Grim Again.

"What he has done - is doing - is prostituted America"

That statement has no basis in reality. What about Putin, Xi or any other world leader, none of whomhave taken any action against Saudi Arabia? No criticism of them?

MAGA - Michael Avenetti Got Arrested

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

@serrano What about Putin, Xi

Both are brutal despots. Why are you including Trump with them? He's not at their level - yet.

And has been explained numerous times, Khashoggi was a US resident on a US visa, on an O visa, just like Trump's third wife. He was not a resident of Russia or China, instead the US.

Khashoggi was working for a US newspaper, a paper Trump despises because it questions Trump, and its owner is one hundred times richer than Trump. Plus the WaPo owner didn't inherit a business, he built Amazon himself.

Trump obviously feels closer ties to the murderer than the murdered. Maybe, like POWs captured in war, Trump hates the murdered.

And loves selling big war weapons to brutal murderers. After all, military arms sales help make his economy look better.

And it could be Jared etal have sold even more properties to the murdering prince and his family. If we could see Trump's current tax info, we might be able to see.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

"And has been explained numerous times, Khashoggi was a US resident on a US visa"

And having been explained numerous times, the dude was a Saudi citizen killed by other Saudi citizens in Turkey. And yet Trump is supposed to suspend diplomatic relations and cancel multi-billion dollar business deals over this. Guaranteed Hillary and Barack wouldn't have either.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

I wonder what Trump would do if Hannity was cut up into little bits in a foreign embassy?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

No surprise.

It's only a matter of time before it becomes open season on journalists (if it wasn't already).

Trump has sent out a powerful message - murder is no hindrance to making money.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Yesterday Trump went too far and pardoned one turkey too many. There will be consequences (unintended, of course) for Trump's repeated, willful dissing of intelligence reports that he refuses to read.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Serrano apparently thinks the President of the United States of America is/should be on the same level as Putin and Xi. 'Splains a lot.

Mmm, lets see.

Hostile to free press Tick

Using government role for personal profitTick

Try to get opponents locked upTick

Promoting Nepotism Tick for Donny, jury is still out on the other 2.

Serrano: Thats pure genius.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

so yeah that’s a long winded response to say he wasn’t a US citizen nor an actual “journalist”.

So permanent residents of the US are not as important as citizens? Conservative "logic" at its finest.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

"I wonder what Trump would do if Hannity was cut up into little bits in a foreign embassy?"

Hannity is a U.S. citizen. Khashoggi wasn't.

"Mmm, lets see...

"Hostile to free press Tick"

Wrong. Hostile to those in the corporate media who spew lies. Nothing wrong with that.

"Using government role for personal profitTick"

Something wrong with profiting from a great economy like a lot of other folks?

"Try to get opponents locked upTick"

Those opponents have committed felonies.

"Promoting Nepotism Tick for Donny, jury is still out on the other 2."

Outright lie.

ulysses loses this one 4-0.

I remember when certain Republican freaks were using Saddam Hussein and his "winsome sons" brutality as an excuses for their miserable failure of an invasion in Iraq.

And here they are today defending their Dear Leader Trump the Moron and his Bone Saw companion, Prince Momo...

Charlatans.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

No surprise.

It's only a matter of time before it becomes open season on journalists (if it wasn't already).

It’s not, only if they are rude and obnoxious and Acosta fits that exact description.

Trump has sent out a powerful message - murder is no hindrance to making money.

Not only Trump, every other world leader, except maybe for Brazil.

What he has done - is doing - is prostituted America: he states clearly, arrogantly and proudly that the Saudis pay enough to be able to make the US roll over and provide the goods.

Not and so much words but we do need them. Does it matter what you want to call it, you can college democracy with some cream puffs, the point is we need the Saudis and the Saudis need us.

And the goods are not a bit of feel-good, but weapons of death.

Yes, we do need the Saudis as a buffer to help us contain Iran as much as possible, not to mention, it helps secure their and the Israelis safety.

So he's also saying that America relies on war and killing, including the bombing of babies, to maintain the lifestyles of its workers.

Sometimes it has to be in order to keep the peace, no one likes or wants a war, but it is often inevitable.

Lifestyles that are also propped up (for the time being) by outdated fossil fuel energy that is steadily destroying the environment and changing the climate.

Well, you can thank the Democrats and the liberals for that. For years the environmentalists have done everything in their power to stop the advancement of domestic fracking In four years since we are not allowed for the most part to get our own oil which we have in abundance, we have to sadly rely on the Mideast oil. At the loud it, we would be way ahead of the game and maybe we could slowly wean ourselves off of it, but as of now, it will take awhile and now with the Dems back in the front seat, I would expect to continue this unhealthy relationship.

MAGA - Make America Grim Again.

With the Dems now Controlling the purse, probably.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Hostile to those in the corporate media who spew lies. Nothing wrong with that.

Or is it that Donny and Trumpets cannot handle the truth.

Something wrong with profiting from a great economy like a lot of other folks?

Wow, do you realize thats a violation of the constitution ? Can you name the 'other folks'

Those opponents have committed felonies.

Putin and Xi also believe the same, or at least try to.

Outright lie.

I am sure Ivanka and Jared are the most qualified people in the US.

ulysses loses this one 4-0

Alternate facts!

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Sometimes it has to be in order to keep the peace, no one likes or wants a war, but it is often inevitable.

I find that the people who make excuses for war tend not to serve. They are quite happy to see young men and women sacrificed for the whims of the elite, the corporate and the corrupt. From the safety of distance and a comfortable life.

Why was Yemen inevitable, if anyone could tell me? I've been following the horrible tragedy for a while now and still can't find an answer.

Saudi Arabia with its murderous, misogynistic regime, oil and money and US backing. Hmmmm.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I find that the people who make excuses for war tend not to serve.

I have 3 people in my family that served and they all feel the same as I do, please don’t try and pigeonhole people into a monolithic group.

They are quite happy to see young men and women sacrificed for the whims of the elite, the corporate and the corrupt. From the safety of distance and a comfortable life.

In the Hollywood realm for sure.

Saudi Arabia with its murderous, misogynistic regime, oil and money and US backing. Hmmmm.

Yes, sadly. We need them and they need us, nothing and No President will change that.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

”standing by” someone is much different than choosing not to get involved.

Standing by someone means you are already involved. Whew! That was difficult.
