The death counts continue to rise during the waning days of the Trump regime. Trump and his Republicans are leaving Biden the biggest messes ever left by an outgoing presidency.

Trump inherited a healthy economy, but through his incompetence is leaving behind one in which millions of Americans are out of work with no job prospects, are losing their homes, and have to stand in lines at charity food kitchens which struggle to feed them.

Trump is leaving the country weaker than it's been in modern history.

Some think that this corona virus is alive only in USA.... Yes some frogs who are living in a well think that way.

The creator and the father of this virus is our most respected XI, who is the controller of the USA and the world is the only one who can control the the corona. And Biden family is in very good terms with XI. Hope they will work as buddies as before...

@PTownend - Trump inherited a healthy economy, but through his incompetence is leaving behind one in which millions of Americans are out of work with no job prospects, are losing their homes, and have to stand in lines at charity food kitchens which struggle to feed them.

Trump did not inherit a healthy economy. He inherited a fickle economy. The virus showed just how fickle the US economy was. If you want to point the finger, point it at the 300 million residents of the US who have ignored safety warning and procedures which have lead to more than 2,000 deaths daily and hundreds of thousands of new cases every day. Blaming one man and his political party is naive and petty.

Have any cites

...common! What ever hapoened to reading comprehension and basic deduction?

Captains of corporate America has been joining the CCP cadre publicly for years, America's biggest company 'Apple' regularly tow the CCP line at the expense of western free values.

That list is tiny compared to the actual list.

Twitter is not...

It's your choice to ignore media channels like twitter, but it doesn't mean country leaders will stop using it.

“Guess what, after November 3 coronavirus will magically all of a sudden go away and disappear and everybody will be able to reopen.”

—Eric Trump, May, 2020

“on November 4 you won’t hear anything about it (Covid) because we’re rounding that turn,”

—Donald Stabilus Genius Maximus

Not comedy, though. Tragedy.

Yeah, I wonder why so many Americans are doing that. Its almost like their leader has been telling them this would all magically disappear on its own and publicly flouting safety procedures himself while mocking those who follow them all year.

The situation is beyond the pale.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

The situation is beyond the pale.

A more pitiful situation is hard to imagine. A rampant virus at the onset of a long winter, hospitals & morgues already full, an incompetent, absent leader who doesn't care and a population that seems not to have the self-discipline nor fortitude to deal with it all.

That Thanksgiving turkey really wasn't worth it.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

And not a peep from the man-child who wants to be the next president. The pandemic should be the priority for the leader of any country. Someone should ask him what his plans are for the pandemic if he is to serve a second term. He has no plan, just like he didn't all this year.

14 ( +15 / -1 )

MCGA was another Trumpromise that won't pan out this year and, much worse than a "stolen Christmas", lost lives will be the price paid by American people "tired of winning" under Trump's AWOL administration. Covid has exposed the corruption of the swamp creature who for four years has led the nation by the nose until the November election at last brought deliverance, but Trump and his Retrumplican wrecking crew have given every indication that they will continue their nefarious work until the inauguration and beyond. There must be a precedent-shattering reckoning in 2021 if the republic is to ever repair the damage and recover from its trauma.

"We're rounding the corner."

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Make America Great Again, they shriek.

We have a 9/11-scale death toll every day, which was totally avoidable had there been leadership.

The bloated orange buffoon who swore he wouldn't have time to play golf is out golfing every day he isn't spinning his conspiracy theory of stolen election victory to hordes of his maskless cultists.

Lines for food banks back up for miles in the richest country in the world.

Highest levels of unemployment for a generation, with the GOP blocking unemployment aid in the catastrophe they created.

And 49% of the US electorate want four more years of this cavalcade of veal buffoonery.

No wonder Trump loves the poorly-educated.

If McConnell keeps the Senate, he can block all of Biden's attempts to fix this carnage, then, come the mid-terms, blame him for not fixing it. Then we get Don Jr. in 2024.

Congratulations, Mr. Putin. Your work is almost done.

Those of you blaming the outgoing administration are so off base and coming from some other planet.

Read the article.

as millions of Americans refuse to follow medical advice to wear masks and avoid crowds and smaller gatherings to contain the virus' spread.

&

first responders and nursing home residents within days in what Hanse called "light at the end of the tunnel."

Who is responsible for fast tracking this? The outgoing said administration. Seriously if you really want to point fingers and place blame. Go to the source/. Everyday more and more evidence is brought forward that the Chinese government knew this virus was infecting their citizens and did nothing to stop it before it was too late. Trump could have done more. But so could have every other world leader at this point. Its an invisible enemy was the most realistic description of this virus I have ever heard since it broke. I have lost two dear to me in Massachusetts from this Virus. Seeing the X-ray of these dear and near to me. One them. Her lungs looked liked shattered glass. With every breath she was taking at the end was like breathing in needles and pins. It was horrible to hear from her Children. Utterly heartbreaking.

https://www.bostonherald.com/

This Virus is a global Pandemic. It requires a global level of cooperation between nations never seen. Imagine if we had not the technology we have now. You know what you would be looking? An extinction even for the human race. And I do not say that lightly. Trumps fault? You can blame anyone right now for this but the source at this point. Those in the early days in China that could have stopped it.

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

Correction.

You can't blame anyone right now for this but the source at this point. Those in the early days in China that could have stopped it.

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

Those of you giving me the -'s All good.

Two dead I know. Two! Two people who will never hold their children and grandchildren ever again.

Have done all in life they will have done. One sick and dead even before Massachusetts medical staff knew what the heck they were looking at.

Your minus's mean nothing to me. (+0/-1000000) Go for it!

Half of you or more do not have the courage to admit that Trumps operation "warp speed" has saved lives.

Your just reveling in the fact the guy went down. Is going down.

pandemic -(of a disease) prevalent over a whole country or the world.

Global pandemic.

Its not Trumps fault! Its Chinas fault and as I have said since day one is death on holocaustic level and China must be held responsible for its Virus they failed to contain.

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

Leaders can keep on telling people to avoid having X'mas party, it could be futile as most probably not many of them would want to oblige.

Be prepared for a new surge..

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Given Trump has given up - waived the white flag - ran from the battlefield....maybe its time to just move the inauguration up to 20 Dec instead of 20 Jan, so President Biden can his team can start saving American lives...

8 ( +9 / -1 )

And once again the power-hungry elite want to encroach on what you can and can't do in your own home, just like with Thanksgiving.

Remember civil disobedience? Time to exercise that a bit.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

Move past your distain for this President.

President Trump’s decisive action has helped save American lives like it not.

The United States has a lower excess mortality rate than Europe, including many European countries, such as: the United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Spain, and others.

The United States has among the lowest case fatality rates of any major country.

According to the best estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 99.997 percent of individuals aged 19 and younger who contract coronavirus make a full recovery, 99.98 percent of those aged 20 to 49 make a full recovery, and 99.5 percent aged 50 to 69 fully recover.

President Trump has deployed point of care testing equipment, millions of rapid tests, and critical PPE to nursing homes to help protect our seniors.

The Administration also put in place safety measures like visitation restrictions, mandated staff testing, and required reporting of cases at certain senior facilities.

The Trump Administration mobilized extra beds and personnel to help prevent hospital overcrowding and has deployed medical supplies to aid healthcare workers on the frontlines.

Trump issued an order on 31 January which stopped foreign nationals who had been in China in the previous two weeks from entering the US, which came into effect on 2 February.

Were almost a year into this. How can anyone say the US governments response didn't save lives?

You can't blame anyone right now for this but the source at this point. Those in the early days in China that could have stopped it.

No, actually, we can. It is possible for more than one party to be responsible for the dumpster fire in the US right now.

Yes, China deserves to be blamed for starting this and letting it get out of control in the first place.

But that doesn't absolve Trump of blame for his completely disastrous response once it arrived in the US.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

China must be held responsible for its Virus they failed to contain.

Slickdrifter - are you sure you want to go down the route of who failed to contain the virus? With nearly 300,000 US dead and the basic need to wear a mask a point of confederate flag-waving Freedumb?

When the US now suffers 9/11-level death tolls DAILY because the GOP refused to act?

Every other developed country has contained the virus better than Trump's failure to lead.

Now start wearing a mask.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

But that doesn't absolve Trump of blame for his completely disastrous response once it arrived in the US.

No expert in the medical field but a few knew what the heck were looking at in the early days!

Doctors even admit in my home state that I know personally and some here in Japan. They did not understand this Sar's based virus before it was too late. I am sorry I disagree with you. China had an opportunity to shut down travel and flights but went on as business as usual. They swept under the rug.

Its like in that movie Prometheus. Its an accurate analogy!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_UROacPwPY

It tuned on them! Exploded on them.

The COVID impact was unknown most experts in America.

Cause the WHO was so wishy washy and in Chinas Pocket in the early days!

There are no Global pandemic countermeasures in place in the world that are effective to date. Because we never had to deal with something like this before. Most of these virus have taken place in countries like Africa where they are accounted for and contained. Locking down swaths of land and people for containment. Not the modern world!

But you can bet your...that there will be now. And I do hope Biden leads the way in this once this is all over.

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

Remember civil disobedience? Time to exercise that a bit.

How is civil disobedience handled in your country? Are opposition leaders dioxin-ated?

I have a mask on Dereck. AND A DAMN GOOD ONE! CARBON FIBER BASED N-95

Dereck, How many have you lost close to you from this virus? Had you heard from those treating your loves ones that died, We just didn't know or have enough information to save her. We threw the pharmacy at her. Nothing was effective.

Dr. Agathangelou. If I only had access to the data they have in Chinese hospitals.

These were the last words I heard spoken to my family. When we lost our beloved member.

Politicizing it and blaming the GOP for the American deaths due to this virus is way off base.

The MARSOC bod has been well maintained and still fit for duty if need be even at 50. ROLF!

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

There are no Global pandemic countermeasures in place in the world that are effective to date.

That is emphatically not true. Taiwan has gone over 200 days without a locally transmitted case of Covid 19. Taiwan's population is 23.8 million. They acted early, lessons learned from their experience with the 2004 SARS pandemic, and have had only 607 total cases and seven Covid 19 related deaths. The total number of active cases peaked at 307 on April 6th. As a result they have experienced minimal economic disruption.

Florida by comparison has a population of 21.99 million, call it 22 million. Florida has suffered 1.074 million cases of Covid 19 and 19,402 deaths. There's your freedumb at work.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Because we never had to deal with something like this before.

Again not true. There was SARS in 2004 and the 2009 H1N1 Pandemic. The latter caused so many deaths world wide and in the US that the Obama administration developed a 69 page National Security Council playbook for dealing with a pandemic titled “Playbook for Early Response to High-Consequence Emerging Infectious Disease Threats and Biological Incidents”. This document still exists and was briefed to the then incoming Trump administration but was subsequently ignored. The Obama administration also established an Office of Pandemic Preparedness that was abolished in the early days of the current administration. A global disease monitoring system called PREDICT was largely defunded and then allowed to expire entirely just weeks before the current SARS-CoV2 pandemic was first discovered.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Its not Trumps fault! Its Chinas fault and as I have said since day one is death on holocaustic level and China must be held responsible for its Virus they failed to contain.

There is much more to the problems facing the US than what China did or didn't do. Countries that share borders with China or that are only hundreds of miles away across the sea have suffered far lower infection and death rates per 100,000 population than the US has. Countries like Taiwan, South Korea and Japan are every bit as advanced and urbanized at the US yet they have done a far better job of reducing the physical and economic suffering from this pandemic than the US has. The US has done just about everything wrong that could be done during a pandemic while little Taiwan did everything right. Time to set aside the false pride and flag waving nonsense and learn some lessons from our developed peers, particularly those in Asia. Don't be stubborn and assume Americans are always and forever the smartest and best in the world This pandemic proves otherwise.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

No expert in the medical field but a few knew what the heck were looking at in the early days!

Yeah, I'll accept that as a reasonable excuse for Trump's fumbles in January and February.

It doesn't explain his shambolic response from March forward well after the scientific community had developed a good understanding of the virus and how to limit its spread.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

@Desert Tortoise

Taiwan-Global? Small and condensed.

The world a hyperbole fishbowl of mass transit from continent to continent.

SPREAD! Again no counter measures in place globally. No "how to handle" and extinction level pandemic hand book, Or Pandemic for dummies. As this is the first time the world has been faced with problem. Blaming government officials for not doing enough in any country. Unless severely negligent and Trump was not. Its just not right. I get it, You despise Trump. Four years of the same ole hate Trump hum drum!

@PTownsend-Not uncanny or mysterious? Rich! おえらいさん!

And I do not know bass personal level or anyone here and I like that way.

But I am respected in my field in this country at highest level and few have achieved what I have Japan. And I say that humbly as I deal in fact in career and not fiction. If I say a thing. You can take it to the bank.

If you really want to know why things a so bad in the USA right now, just read Slickdrifter's comments. They align wholly with the worst criminal in Americas history.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

It is unfortunate but the situation has made it clear that everything in excess is bad, including obsessing with personal freedoms. The pandemic can be fought successfully, several places have done it, but this is simply not possible if enough members of the society consider any kind of cooperation as an insult to their personal rights. Giving everybody the right to be a jerk was fine for America, until this meant putting everybody else at risk.

@ Slickdrifter

Blaming government officials for not doing enough in any country. Unless severely negligent and Trump was not. Its just not right.

It is more than right, it is what the US is apparently about. There are countries where the top of the government cannot really do that much so the whole group shares the responsibility, Trump made it clear from the beginning that was not going to happen to him and grabbed as much power as he could, that also means he can be made responsible for what the government of the country as a whole accomplished or failed to do.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

@ non party

Have at it bud. I think you've uncovered something major here worthy of investigation. Meanwhile lots of Americans are needlessly dying just to prove a point. Which side of the political fence they sit.
