Don't you love the irony that the US is punishing Cuba for its support for democracy in Venezuela.

PS, the Canadian government went along with the American effort to oust the democratically elected government and refused to recognize it as legitimate, instead claiming that the guy who has refused to accept the legitimacy of every election his side lost, and then tried to scam his way to power was the legitimate head of government, and then had to publicly embarrass itself by asking the 'illegitimate' government to continue to recognize the Canadian diplomats request to stay in the country. Of course, it (or at least our foreign minister) is claiming that it's refusal to do so somehow proves that it is illegitimate and should be censured for doing so.

the Trump administration's ban on travel to the Caribbean island,

Trump and his admin once again interfering in the market.

The new restrictions are aimed at pressuring Cuba's Communist government to reform and stop supporting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

In other words, Trump's pushing for regime changes. How have those worked out in Iraq? Libya? For anyone other than the military-industrial complex, oil corporations and their 'financiers'.

Other posters have mentioned the Bautista regime and how absolutely brutal they were. A beneficiary of the Bautista regime was the US mafia who made millions on their Cuban casinos. I wonder if any current US casino operators are pressuring Trump to punish Cuba, especially those who've contributed millions to him

Like the Affordable Care Act? Democrats didn’t think that one through at all.

He can and push for it, we just won’t be pushed to use our money to support a regime that oppresses its people.

What nonsense, lol.

What? So many in Trump's pro-authoritarian base seem willing to have the working and middle classes pay higher taxes to subsidize big oil and big war industries plus Wall Street in their numerous global interventions.

Big oil, big war and Wall Street have long supported regimes that oppress people.

The US needs to leave sovereign nations alone and focus on its own serious domestic problems.

Yes, its interference is taking the form of a cancer growing.

For Canadians (and other nationalities who don't give a sh*t about Trump or US policy) Cuba just got cheaper. That's good thing, so off I go!

Now all of a sudden liberals care about cost and taxes??? Wow! Never thought I’d live to see that day come...

Big oil, big war and Wall Street have long supported regimes that oppress people.

As do lack of public education, the unions, PP, Hollywood...

The US needs to leave sovereign nations alone and focus on its own serious domestic problems.

Tell that to Mexico and all the other countries that always need our help or money.
