Get ready for part two, as the Democrat majority in the house is not going to pass any funding for a wall, and Trump will declare a national emergency, throwing things into even more of a cluster-fruck!

There will be more shutdowns. How can a budget be passed in this environment ?

Federal workers get half percent loans on their pay. That means they pay half a percent of interest. It's funny that none of their unions offered to help them cover this cost. They pay dues and they cant go on strike, so the dues must either reflect that and be lower because there isn't any strike fund or the workers are getting taken advantage of by the union.

I still don't understand why Trump didn't secure the money for his much loved wall when the republicans had control of both houses. It is almost like he was waiting for this so he could portray himself as the victim.

Well, the Republicans knew the wall was a moronic idea, so they kept telling him to put it off until next time. Then he suddenly realized there was no next time, so he freaked out.

Basically everyone got screwed by his own party's unwillingness to keep him in check.

Trump said he would be willing to shut down the government again

But somehow he's once again got his believers convinced it was the Democrats at fault. Once again after he's caused a problem he blames someone else for it, then expects them to clean up his messes, a trait of the narcissistically impaired spoiled class brats.

It is almost like he was waiting for this so he could portray himself as the victim.

Good point. Remember Trump claimed 'no president has been treated worse...'https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-russia-comey-latest-news-no-president-treated-worse-speech-quote-a7741571.html

Remember his wife claiming she's 'the most bullied person in the world' https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-45818267

Part of the Trump's claims to their 'victimhood' is to appeal to their white supremacist followers who also claim to be victims because actions pushing for equality lessen their sense of superiority.

So, reduce by $11B over a $5.7B thing.

Brilliant. We need to fire everyone in all the white buildings in Washington DC.

Unfortunately, that's the type of thinking that led to Trump getting elected. It's cutting off your nose to spite your face.

To be fair when you think about the money the wars have costed, Obamacare, entitlements, bailouts, 3 billion although quite a significant amount is just another drop in the bucket of money that was lost in the country.

CBO also projects the federal budget deficit will be 4.2% of GDP this year, compared to average of 2.9% over the past 50 years.

Longer term the deficit will exceed $1T every year beginning in 2022. Debt to GDP ratio will hit 93% in 2029, WWII era levels. Aging population will continue to boost spending.

Meanwhile, the GOP tax bill actually raised my taxes.

Don't worry folks, Mexico will pay for all of it, they will pay for the wall, loss to the economy and even add a small tip for Trump.

And then I woke up....

Very well stated, and it again highlights that the Grand Old Party (GOP) no longer exists.  Where are all the Repub fiscal hawks?  Where are all the Repub "Tea Party" deficit reduction nuts?  Where are all the Repubs that couldn't take a breath without saying we need a balanced budget amendment...

Easy answer - the dumped all their so called "conservative fiscal values" right over the side and hitched up to the Trump derailment train - permanent big tax cuts for the Top 1%, smaller temporary ones for the middle class.  And the deficit?  Who cares about that....

Can you spell H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-S-Y?

The Republican Congress gave him $1.2 Billion last year - and much of it still unused

More lost money for a lost cause.

No, too many RINOS including former House Speaker Ryan. Some Republicans need to be tossed out along with virtually all the Democrats.

More lost money for a lost cause.

Our Border Patrol disagrees. I'm with our Border Patrol. Did you already forget CNN's Jimmy Boy proving to us that a wall / steel barrier works?

Seems that all of that could have been said about the GOP for the last 2 years. No national emergency, no claims that they want open borders or are soft on security.

That suddenly started to happen when Democrats said no. Odd.

Seems Nancy and Chuck need to give a straight answer as to why they supported a wall before and why they don't support a wall now.

Um, someone needs to give you guys a straight talk about how you can't try to re-write reality and expect to have any credibility.

Chuck and Nancy never supported a wall. No Democratic candidate has ever supported a wall.

But once again, you're talking about how the Democrats have supported border security, even while your team tries to claim that the democrats want open borders.

You people are all over the place. A real mess.
