The US needs Saudis Arabia in order to combat the Islamic extremists that Saudi Arabia creates and supports, according to certain conservative posters.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday he was wary of halting arms sales to Riyadh because of Khashoggi as it would just shift its weapons purchases to Russia and China.

Wary’: not because US arms sales will continue ongoing wars and the slaughters of innocents so Saudi’s rulers and their global faction of the world’s .01% can maintain control of oil and gas in the Gulf region.

Wary’: because Russia and China’s war industries would profit instead of US war industries, and their ruling classes could gain greater control of oil and gas.

The world’s stuck watching the US, Russian and Chinese empires battle each other for the benefit of their respective .01%ers.

Why don't liberals ever raise a fuss about that?

On that note way off topic, I imagine many US rightists probably support the ways the LGBTQ community is mistreated in ultra-rightist Russia.

Sometimes you need to strike a deal with the devil if you want to keep your soul and have peace.

Striking a deal with the devil excludes one from keeping their soul.

Logic failures abound in the right!

Trump is all about greed, not human rights.

Even if there is a video tape with audio of Khashoggi being murdered in the Saudi consulate, the Trump administration will pull another Kavanaugh and say that they need more proof.

Then there's the question of how the Saudis are going to use those U.S, weapons. Hospitals, school buses and civilians are intentional targets hit with these U.S. weapons at the discretion of the Saudi government, and that really stinks.

I love money as much as the next guy, but when it comes to blood money, no thanks.

Trump is all about greed, not human rights.

Israel, SK and Japan are not complaining.

Even if there is a video tape with audio of Khashoggi being murdered in the Saudi consulate, the Trump administration will pull another Kavanaugh and say that they need more proof.

As if the left didn't want.....more proof. We need the Saudis, no one likes this situation, but No one is happy with the possible scenario of what happened, but cooler heads prevail and the left are an extremely overly emotional bunch and you need to think and not just act based on your emotional outburst. The Saudis are very instrumental in helping us when it comes to the war on terror and Iran, not cut and dry and you need to approach this one carefully and cautiously.

Then there's the question of how the Saudis are going to use those U.S, weapons. Hospitals, school buses and civilians are intentional targets hit with these U.S. weapons at the discretion of the Saudi government, and that really stinks.

Hey, I get it, I'm not a fan of the Saudi regime whatsoever, but I do see where the WH has to hold its nose on this.

I love money as much as the next guy, but when it comes to blood money, no thanks.

I agree, but we are not in the WH or a part of the intelligence agency and the Pentagon that have a deeper insight into all this madness.

Can't Trump get the Russians to buy these weapons instead of the Saudis?

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

@serrano Can't Trump get the Russians to buy these weapons instead of the Saudis?

Only the most extreme 'western' rightists support ultra-rightist Russia as Putin continues trying to re-establish the Russian empire while displacing the US and its 'former' European allies.

No more weapons for Saudi!

Trump is weak, corrupt and compromised.

Murdering dissenters on foreign soil is the shocking new norm started by the Russian dictator. If the Saudis aren’t brought to heel, expect more of this.

@bass

If you ignore it, you condone it.

Trump is weak, corrupt and compromised.

Weak? When did he go on an apologizing tour?

Murdering dissenters on foreign soil is the shocking new norm started by the Russian dictator.

He murdered someone?? Ok, lol! What proof do you have?

If the Saudis aren’t brought to heel, expect more of this.

First we need to find out what happened, if the man was murdered and who exactly was responsible and not jump to conclusions.

We don't need the Saudis: their government is evil and corrupt. We should have as little to do with them as possible. Not only do they murder their own citizens, they also bomb Yemeni citizens. They fund extremists and terrorists around the world, yet the US refuses to put them on the list of states who sponsor terrorism. They teach their children that non sunni muslims should be killed: that includes the US weapon manufacturers, who it seems would eagerly sell the Saudis the knives that would be used in their own beheadings.

We should not be selling weapons to the Saudis: we should be isolating them and threatening them with a good bombing if they do not change their ways. Let them eat sand.

We don't need the Saudis

Actually and sadly for the next foreseeable future, we do.

There's no evidence about journalist Jamal Khashoggi was already killed by Saudi secret agents. Turkey must release any information collected from Saudi Consulate to press.

I hope he wasn't murdered and he was still alive taken to Saudi. The US Government should ask the Saudi Government about what happen to journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

At the same time, the US must pressure the Saudi Crown Prince to produce more Oil. The Oil price is too high at the moment. The Oil price should be around $60.

Weak? When did he go on an apologizing tour?

No president has gone on an apology tour. That conservative conspiracy originated with Romney and had no basis in reality. If it were true, conservatives would be posting links to the evidence.

He murdered someone?? Ok, lol! What proof do you have?

No, Trump hasn't personally murdered anyone. That said, being POTUS, he is undoubtedly responsible for some murders in the same way conservatives feel Oba and Hilary are responsible for murder. (Undoubtedly, we'll get a conservative double-standard explanation of why Obama and Hilary are different.)

First we need to find out what happened, if the man was murdered and who exactly was responsible and not jump to conclusions.

The Turks have audio evidence of this man being murdered by Saudis. Of course, only conservatives are allowed to jump to conclusions.

Actually and sadly for the next foreseeable future, we do.

Only in conservative La La Land does the US need the country that creates and supports Islamic extremist terrorists. Conservatives don't have the intellectual capacity to understand the logic failure in making this claim.

Actually and sadly for the next foreseeable future, we do.

Are foreseeable futures a length of measurement from the metric system? What period of time is the current foreseeable future? When was the previous foreseeable future?

We don't need the Saudis

I disagree. What do the Saudis offer us? If you say they are "helping" us fight terrorism, I would argue that they are still financing terrorists around the world. They did nothing to fight IS in Syria and Iraq (because they support them and their ideals). The Saudi state itself is a terrorist entity, bombing innocent civilians in Yemen, killing opponents at home and overseas.

We do not need, and should have nothing to do with, the Saudis until they learn to behave in a civilised manner and to treat people with respect. Instead, they murder anyone who disagrees with their outdated, backwards behaviour.

I'm sure their money goes a long way towards keeping America's corporate and political... ahem, "elite" in the fine lifestyles to which they are accustomed.
