How nice it will be to have knowledgeable, qualified people in charge again.

So much for Donald’s “tool of the Left” talking point.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

While Blinken, 58, is not a household name for the secretary of state job, he has held important foreign policy positions in the last two Democratic administrations, including a spell as a deputy secretary of state under President Barack Obama.

I think he is a sensible choice. A pro diplomat.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

It's so refreshing to see choices being made based on experience and intelligence. All I ever saw out of Trump's appointees were family members and "Yes" men and women. A lot of the people he hired were unqualified for their respective positions.

Also, we can see that Biden is all for reaching across the aisle. He is hiring even people who have served under Bush, and centrists. Trump on the other hand, wouldn't even go near a Democrat or liberal, even if they were qualified for that position. To him, loyalty and 100% agreement with everything he says is more important. And if that person offered some critical advice, he would either fire that person or insult them publicly.

pledged to rejoin a nuclear deal with Iran if Tehran restores its compliance, return to the Paris climate accord, abandon plans to leave the World Health Organization and end a U.S. rule that bans funding of aid groups that discuss abortion

Good.

bass: He will, but knowing him, he will drag it out, I hope he does personally.

Agreed.

The GSA has begun the transition process for Biden. Trump can choose to continue to resist but he will just lose more and more and I enjoy seeing that. In addition, will come across as petty in the eyes of America and the world which will even further tarnish his reputation.

Fitting end to his presidency. Losing.

Given the people Biden's reported to be appointing to his cabinet, who so far appear to be pretty mainstream centrist, that Trump and the far right media's 'Biden's turning the country socialist' was just one more wolf cry intended to further scare the easily duped and scared. Many of whom have no idea what 'socialist' even means beyond believing for whatever reason it's a pejorative.

Farewell to facile slogans!

After two Bushes and a Trump*, it’s conclusive that these people don’t really know what they’re talking about. They aren’t very good at this, the only reason their economy hasn’t collapsed is because they keep alternating with democrats who do their best to clean up the mess they were left.

* As well as two ravaged economies, two unpaid wars, as well as a country ridden with civil unrest and an unmanaged pandemic.

It appears that President Elect Biden is proceeding with his agenda of “Making the USA Sane Again”.

Minutes ago, it was reported that the General Services Administration (GSA) has been allowed by the White House to proceed with providing Mr. Biden with the facilities and funds to carry out the most important activities to carry out a close to seamless transition.

Ideally, the current dangerous embarrassment occupying the White House will stop interfering with the constitution of the nation and will curtail his chaotic approach to misadministration of the USA in the the weeks to come leading to the 20th January transfer of power.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Attila: It is interesting that President Trump pursuing legal avenues to contest the election results is portrayed as trying to "shred our Constitution"... kind of shows the thought processes on the left for what they are.

This is an obviously manufactured misrepresentation.

Trump brought up dozens of frivolous lawsuits with no evidence. When he couldn't get anything to stick he literally lobbied our elected officials to ignore the will of the people and switch their vote to Trump.

If you're confused, imagine Obama or Hillary doing that.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Wakarimasen: I still can't believe that the country voted for this stuff.

Just use your imagination. Imagine Biden's political circle going to jail. Imagine him bragging about molesting women. Imagine him stealing from charities and starting fake Biden Universities. Imagine him losing discrimination suits.

You'll find him more to your liking.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Well, as it stands now a given that Biden is pretty much giving the jobs back to these people that appeased the world and kissed off the States, Europe China wins, America loses. This is going to be the fastest one term presidency and fast than Usain Bolt can run and that guy is fast!

Yeah, kind of like when Trump took away income from American farmers with his little trade war with China. Meanwhile, many of his products (about 180 out of nearly 300) are listed as being made in China or elsewhere. Several of them are listed as "Decorated in America", which is a fancy way of covering up the fact that it was "manufactured" elsewhere. Which emphasizes the point that Trump likes to make: "Do as I say; not as I do". It's his mantra.

Trump putting America first? Yeah, right. In his mind, it's Trump first, then America.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Attila: So let all this talk of a smooth transition go away.

“My number one priority in the coming two months is to try to facilitate a transition that ensures our president-elect is successful,” Obama said.

During his inaugural address, Trump thanked Obama and his wife, Michelle, “for their gracious aid throughout this transition” and called them “magnificent.”

You must be pretty deep in the bubble if you weren't aware of this.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

only liberals worry about what other people think which always have amused me. Lol

bass4funk: Then I guess Trump must be the biggest liberal, according to your "definition" of a liberal. Trump spends most of his time watching TV, looking at Twitter, taking note of how people think of him. He gets butt-hurt at the hint of an insult thrown his way. Now, that his feelings are hurt at not winning the election, he is bunkering down and playing golf.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

It is interesting that President Trump pursuing legal avenues to contest the election results is portrayed as trying to "shred our Constitution"... kind of shows the thought processes on the left for what they are.

What would you call encouraging election officials to invalidate the results of the majority of the voters in their state?

I am also not sure what "abyss" that a possible future Presiden Biden needs to pull the US back from. The "abyss" of record low unemployment for all Americans of all racial and ethnic backgrounds? The "abyss" of energy self sufficiency? The "abyss" of peace deals between Muslims and Israel".

If you don't think over 260K American deaths, an economy approaching the depths of the Great Depression, unemployment in the millions, and a budget deficit the highest in history isn't an abyss, you better watch where you step...

I will give the new folks a chance before commenting. I will say that there is nothing wrong with American cabinet members and diplomats pursuing an "America First" policy. That's their job! China surely is pursuing a "China First" policy, the EU is doing the same, Russia the same, so why should America not put their interests ahead of others as well?

You were fooled. Trump was never about America First - it was always Trump First, Russia Second, China Third... He's given Putin and Xi all they asked for - Putin remains in Crimea/Ukraine and poisons his opponents, and China took over Hong Kong and made trade agreements with America's partners...

For the last four years its been America Last...that changes on Jan 20th...

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Now don’t be surprised that Republicans refuse to help Biden fundamentally change America into a country other that what the Constitution provides for.

Yes, the right have been clear that they intend to return to Obama-era obstructionist tactics, intending to obstruct rather than oppose. They are clearly much better at obstruction than they are at leadership. It's much easier to complain successfully than it is to lead successfully.

I'm sure America will fare better for it. After all, the obstructionists haven't elected three complete and utter losers in a row have they?

...have they?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

To quote, "he (Trump) knows he is an illegitimate President". She also advised Biden, should he lose, "do not concede under any circumstances"

Awesome! She's trolling you guys. I'm surprised you don't respect her more for it - it's what you claim you loved your Dear Loser for being so good at. I guess you only like it when it's someone on your team doing it. No hypocrisy there; carry on.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Trump: 'We’re going to win so much, you’re going to be so sick and tired of winning'

I don't know about everyone else, but all these lawsuits he's been putting out, well is everyone else sick and tired of how much he's winning?

Particularly how he beat the Democrat Hoax that disappeared by Halloween?

(Three Losers in a row; two Bushes and a Trump)

2 ( +4 / -2 )

They got a Latina over ICE

1 ( +4 / -3 )

If you're confused, imagine Obama or Hillary doing that.

The right went on about how the left were sore losers for simply pointing out that even though he won the electoral college, Trump wasn't whom the people wanted. They hated him more than they hated Hillary, and that drives. them. crazy.

Now here Trump is, actually trying to steal the election. Let's remember, this is the third Loser (capital L) in a row that they've elected. And he's making their country look like a pathetic banana republic.

If he actually manages to succeed, America will get the president it deserves.

At this moment, the president of the USA is like that guy that won't leave the girl who broke up with him alone.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

But surely those personal failings are outweighed by no war

Except in Yemen. And the one they had planned for Iran before covid came around.

and less tax

That only benefitted the richest and not the economy in general?

and regulation

Corporations can freely poisoned water again. Is that supposed to be a good thing?

and a bit more transparency as to what goes on in government?

It is true that at least with the Trump government, the corruption was completely transparent, we can thank him for that at least, I guess.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Team Biden all old political insiders. And old age too. Just like him.

Absolutely - who'd want these experienced professionals when you can gave folks like Omarosa, Scaramucchi, Steve Bannon, and Kellyanne...

Back to the bad old days of paying the world to love the US, starting ridiculous wars that just end in carnage, more taxes and more regulation and political cronyism and opacity.

Going back to 2004?

The progressives must be spitting teeth right now.

In victory...

I still can't believe that the country voted for this stuff.

Said a majority of Americans in 2016...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Looks like Biden's cabinet is going to push the envelope (to the right). I hope Biden has not forgotten that he owes his luck in landing his WH job to running against the most incompetent and disliked American president in history. If he gives "progressives" like Sanders and Warren the DNC cold shoulder, he will show himself ungrateful. Fortunately, the Dems may still have one last chance to reboot under President Harris.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

The swamp thing lives.

Don't worry, he'll be gone next january.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I echo the comments about having knowledgeable and professional cabinet members instead of the Trump circus of mental midgets and criminal grifters...

Now don’t be surprised that Republicans refuse to help Biden fundamentally change America into a country other that what the Constitution provides for.

By their spineless inaction and tacit agreement, the Pubs already tried to shred our Constitution by supporting Trump's blatant attempt to steal an election and turn the US into a third-world dictatorship...

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Welcome back America! Hopefully the D will be U again.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Trolling? Not at all. She was still bitter that she lost a "can't lose" election to a New York City bs artist. It was her turn, after all. Obama even threw aside his own vice president to support Hillary. I wouldn't have voted for Trump in 2016, but I am sure glad that Hillary didn't win.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

doubt it, he’ll be in jail, ROFL

Probably not, if the audits, the Russian hoax, the impeachment’s didn’t, then he won’t, Hillary and Holder didn’t. Trump going to prison is as real as Trump getting the election overturned.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Superlib' Oh, I agree that the Obamas acted with class and were very gracious. It was the others around them and the Democratic party faithful who were less than hospitable.

Whatever happens, the American system will survive. This is no existential threat, no descent into tyranny, just a guy playing whatever cards he has left. The fact that he can do so is testament to the strength of the system.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Superlib.  your statements about Orange's demeanour and behavior and all may be right.  Although Joe hasn't exactly had a blemish free past. And we may still find out that he has more hidden stuff we should care about.

But surely those personal failings are outweighed by no war and less tax and regulation and a bit more transparency as to what goes on in government?

I think virus did for Orange, but we are about to find out if the "better" plan is indeed better.  Joe is lucky that he is coming in exactly as all the vaccine and therapeutics work is coming to fruition.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Some senior republicans have raise concerns over Trump's mental health.

Even more with Biden

Biden will become the 46th president and I believe Kamala Harris will become the 47th, and sooner than later.

Well should be a one term then anymore.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Don't have to imagine Hillary doing it. She did it. Was still claiming that the election was stolen from her as late as last year! To quote, "he (Trump) knows he is an illegitimate President". She also advised Biden, should he lose, "do not concede under any circumstances". Not to mention that a third of congressional Democrats boycotted Trump's inauguration. So let all this talk of a smooth transition go away. Please, no more faux outrage at how Trump is conducting himself.

Biden names team to steer U.S. foreign policy in post-Trump era

WestExec Advisor Tony Blinken. Back to war for you Biden supporters. Congrats. Don’t know what WestExec is or does? CNN’s not gonna tell ya.

Funny, I thought this story was about Biden’s new team? Lots of Trump whining still going on.

invalid CSRF

Trump can choose to continue to resist but he will just lose more and more and I enjoy seeing that.

But he’s not and actually he’s gaining a lot more, he can and will step down, gives him time to continue to build up his base.

In addition, will come across as petty in the eyes of America and the world

To the Trump haters and the world, only liberals worry about what other people think which always have amused me. Lol

which will even further tarnish his reputation.

Fitting end to his presidency. Losing.

In the eyes and minds of liberals I guess so, but the Good thing is, the guy is just out of the WH, not gone so I’m happy 2024

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Trump and his supporters have no answers for their shock defeat in a landslide victory won by Biden and Harris.

Ok, if liberals really think so, they’re entitled to. ROFL!

Trump has been offered a job on Newsmax.

Beyond fantastic, a growing conservative network that helps him and his ability to expand his base

Trump will never like his history when its written.

It depends on who’s writing it. I don’t think Obama likes how his history is written by most conservatives.

Going forward less Trump posts.

Probably more, a lot more.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

The swamp thing lives.

Kerry? Seriously? This man knows nothing of the climate and climate change. Gore would have been a better pick.

Get ready good old fashion flare up war in the Middle East. Get ready to start locking Biden's Super predators back in prison again for minor offenses.

Blinken- Sectary of State. Oh my. Obama leftovers. Can not value this man's expertise at all. Totally untrustworthy.

Watch that big overspend huge huge budget to make a come back in the State department.

Greenfield- She once said. My mother taught me to lead with the power of kindness and compassion to make the world a better place. Well the world you now Greenfield does not exist. Its a fairy tale. Why we got out of the dying U.N. in the first place. I love how they call this a restoration of America back on the world stage. Have Democrat's learned anything? Middle East has peace finally. The U.N. will see a walking ATM machine when Greenfield hits the U.N. assembly.

Mayorkas-Another Obama leftover crony!

Get ready for a sharp turn.

Remember nearly half the country and most in the military voted charterers like these above out positions of power and in four years we will do it again! You think the world will be a better place now?

Be ready for some serious vetting Biden. You choose poorly.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

And conservatives are free to deny facts and reality,

As do liberals.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Don't worry, he'll be gone next january.

You really believe that?

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

If Biden would do everything exactly OPPOSITE of what he thinks is right, ... he'd be fantastic.

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

He still can't utter the words "I concede".

He doesn’t need to.

Senior republicans across the nation calling on Trump to concede.

He will, but knowing him, he will drag it out, I hope he does personally.

Biden names team to steer U.S. foreign policy in post-Trump era

His team will steer the USA right off a cliff. Thank you again Mr. Biden.

-10 ( +5 / -15 )

It’s willful ignorance coupled with ignorance driven fear that causes Trump supporters to act on emotion instead of facts.

What was that about Russia again? Oh yeah- willful undermining of democracy. Yes - that’s it; and the emotion was hatred. Truth over facts right?

Now don’t be surprised that Republicans refuse to help Biden fundamentally change America into a country other that what the Constitution provides for.
