The probe is the first major action of Attorney General Merrick Garland, after President Joe Biden vowed to address systemic racism in the United States.

A REAL Attorney General. Thank you President Biden for a strong selection.

The conviction triggered a wave of relief and reflection not only across the United States but in countries around the world.

And no riots. Much to the disappointment of some. Still, Tucker might whip up a white riot yet.

He’d have a good example to follow with Maxine Waters whipping up a black riot.

What riot?

good news!

...President Joe Biden vowed to address systemic racism in the United States. It will consider whether the department engages "in a pattern or practice of using excessive force, including during protests,"

Completely missing from this article is any mention of the original police report filed after the malicious killing of George Floyd which put his death down to "natural causes". The MSM have chosen not to highlight this tip of the egregious iceberg of police corruption and cover- ups which (in every country) is SOP. Without the crucial evidence of a teenager's video posted online nobody would have heard of Mr Floyd who would have become just one more statistic in BL(don't)M. Every single one of those police complicit in this doctored report on George Floyd's arrest and death must be prosecuted and severely punished, not forgetting the two cops who stood back and stood by to watch a murder with malice aforethought.

After the verdict, Biden spoke to Grifter Crump via telephone and said this is now the chance to make a genuine move against systemic racism. Biden also said to similar effect at the podium later that night. As well as VP Harris.

Are saying, Joe, that in all that time you’ve never took a genuine crack at systemic racism?

Are you saying that you think he was pledging personally to do it all by himself?

I think he was talking to everybody because it is everybody’s responsibility to end racism. Making this into an attack on Biden and again politicizing this is not helpful. Do you see?

0 ( +7 / -7 )

None of that was a genuine attempt to stomp out systemic racism?

...??? Haha, you're hilarious :D

Are saying, Joe, that in all that time you’ve never took a genuine crack at systemic racism?

That's of course absolutely not what he's saying, but that won't keep people on the right from trying to play semantic gynmnastics with his words to make him sound like he a horrible man, after 4 years of adamantly defending the worst president america has ever seen. It's pretty blatant and not working at all :) (still at 54% popularity, despite Fox's best efforts).

Wait until the sentencing. Bet it will be light - under 10 yrs. I find it confusing that a single crime can be found guilty of basically the same charge - 2nd, 3rd, and manslaughter.

Nearly every police department needs to have the feds overseeing it. Training dollars need to be shifted from weapons to community policing. Police training needs to be more on the "protect and serve" than the "kill anyone who appears dangerous." Use non-lethal deterrents in all situations unless the cop or someone else is in mortal danger - like being run over by a car, being charged with a deadly weapon, etc.

In the Columbus, Ohio shooting, initial reports say the woman was attacking other women with the knife, so the cop had to do something. Don't know if Columbus police carry non-lethal deterrents.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

I think there are pieces to the puzzle that aren't on the table yet regarding race in America. We're still stumbling through the conversation.

I think one of the issues is a lack of nuance for each situation. Everything tends to be presented as racist or not racist and it's just never that black and white.

Initial reports? Even a blind man watching the video can see the knife in the teenager's hand while another man is repeatedly kicking another girl's face.

No doubt the police need better training, mandatory body cameras, and a general shift in police culture from the Us vs. Them mentailty that pervades. But none of these are, or need to be, racial issues. They are issues that impact all people in America. The police shoot and kill far too many PEOPLE, not just far too many black people.

The mistake IMHO is making this a race issue. That guarantees that a large portion of the population who would be sympathetic to the cause of criminal justice reform won't listen.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

This is theater. It’s the way they’ll smuggle in the St.George policing act which is all part of the defund and abolish police initiatives. It’s theater.

After the verdict, Biden spoke to Grifter Crump via telephone and said this is now the chance to make a genuine move against systemic racism. Biden also said to similar effect at the podium later that night. As well as VP Harris.

Okay. So Little Rock 9, Birmingham bus boycott; marching into packs of dogs and racist cops with batons, the voting act, the civil rights bill, affirmative action; MLK, Edgars, Malcom X; the sit-ins and the walkouts; the deaths. None of that was a genuine attempt to stomp out systemic racism? Really, Biden?

And then, if it is such, what about all the hootin’ n hollerin’ you done about all your civil rights efforts in Delaware in the sixties? Was that not genuine or just another lie? And what about all your time in Congress? Are saying, Joe, that in all that time you’ve never took a genuine crack at systemic racism? Well, I believe you if it be so.

Justice was served with the verdict. But as always with the insatiable mob, it’s never enough. And why would they let it be. Racism and victim hood the real oppressors too much money and power.

Theater? Of course, not. It's a legitimate response to a court case that has shown a policeman abusing his power to kill a man. Imagine anyone being scared by being pulled over by the police for any reason. The very thing that is supposed to protect you might kill you for no reason other than your skin color.

Don't give me that 'theater' bs. It's KKK and Proud Boy thought to not believe there is systemic racism in law enforcement and needs to be investigated. Stand back and stand by, right??

Hootin' n hollerin'??? NO!!! First of all what an insulting use of words...it implies stupidity and foolish words, instead of reason and attempt to right wrongs. These vile words of sarcasm insult me and anyone who believes there is a need to investigate systemic racism.

Justice has been served in this one case. But the case is a symptom of a much larger problem in law enforcement in Minnesota and many areas of the USA, which is the source...the disease...that creates this symptom of unnecessary killings of people who are not given proper treatment by the police. There is ample reason to investigate the on goings of systemic problems. And those problems are created by people who have racist tendency.

Biden is trying to fight systemic racism, but what he's really doing is fighting unfairness, which was often promoted by Trump. I expect nothing less from you than to support the wrongs and the ideals of bigotry and racism.

I think there are pieces to the puzzle that aren't on the table yet regarding race in America. We're still stumbling through the conversation.

We are fine with race. Nothing like the days of Bull Connor or the heyday where whites held blacks with impunity.

I think one of the issues is a lack of nuance for each situation. Everything tends to be presented as racist or not racist and it's just never that black and white.

But Democrats have been and still use the race card for political gains. If America were a racist nation Obama would never have made it to the highest office, No Oprah, No LeBron, No BET, No Sharpton, No Maxine Waters. The US is not perfect, there’s always room for improvement, but to imply that the nation is racist is just a ludicrous joke.

I support police reform on many levels, but this is just going to backfire badly for the Dems and in doing this, they just created more GOP voters, thanks Garland.

There is no systemic racism in the US. Show me the racist law or rule and I will join you on the barricades to remove it. Until then, these are general social issues that impact ALL people.

There ARE too many rent seekers and race hustlers (the Al Sharpton types) trying to profit from this tragedy.

1 ( +9 / -8 )

I think one of the issues is a lack of nuance for each situation. Everything tends to be presented as racist or not racist and it's just never that black and white.

Agree, plus the corporate media presenting it as black and white for ratings, profits and Democrat votes.

Yes, in a way, it is capitalism that keeps people marginalized and encourages a system that goes against the people in favour of profits.

But there is little doubt that the system is stacked against black people. I'd recommend Douglas A Blackmon's book Slavery by Another Name: The Re-Enslavement of Black Americans from the Civil War to World War II, to get an idea of how the USA has reached this point.

There ARE too many rent seekers and race hustlers (the Al Sharpton types) trying to profit from this tragedy.

There's a lot of angry white men who are aggrieved by the guilty result yesterday, I've noticed a lot of chatter out there, over the last 24 hours. A lot of them insisting that the USA isn't racist.

Their influence is waning, so it's understandable, in a way.

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

There is no systemic racism in the US.

Google red-lining.

-3 ( +7 / -10 )

If America were a racist nation Obama would never have made it to the highest office, No Oprah, No LeBron, No BET, No Sharpton, No Maxine Waters.

The far right still don't get it.

These examples are wheeled out, almost every day. As if, somehow, it proves something.

Prosecution: An ever increasing list of the names of black people murdered by cops, had cops called on them, had funding diverted from their communities, were all but ignored in Katrina etc

Defence: Hey, look, Oprah!

-2 ( +7 / -9 )

Justice was served with the verdict. But as always with the insatiable mob, it’s never enough.

Some terrified and angry folk out there, that's true.

They know they can't get away with this anymore. That they will be sent down, if they try to continue their campaign of slaughter and oppression.

Expect the next few weeks, or months, for the last gasp of the apologists for inherent racism in the US.

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

Heretic: more whites are killed by cops than blacks. Again, this is a police problem NOT a race problem.

Surveys show a vast majority of African Americans want policing of their communities to either stay at the same level or even be increased. THEY know the reality on the ground that the corporate media and hustlers refuse to acknowledge.

Groups like the KKK may have been semi-relevant in the past, but today are ridiculously minor. You could put every member of the KKK into a minor league baseball stadium and still have room to spare for the skinheads and Nazis.

I don't know anyone aggrieved by the trial result. Some are asking questons about how politicians and others tried to influence the jury, but those issues can come out in the appeals process. For now, justice was served.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Heretic: more whites are killed by cops than blacks. Again, this is a police problem NOT a race problem.

This is what you would expect in a majority white country. However, black people are disproportionately more likely to be shot by police, when you control for population.

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

If America wasn't racist there would be no KKK, Proud Boys, white supremacists. Racism remains ingrained in society.

The country that has the most foreign born citizens in the World and taking in the most immigrants per year. You can fact check that! So do tell me, why are people lining up to enter a country you consider extremely racist?

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Lazarus; possibly. Latest stats show that, in 2019, 9 unarmed blacks were killed by police. 19 unarmed whites. Overall the police killed about 1,000 people, of whom about one quarter were black. So perhaps based on population there is a slight discrepancy. But when also taking into account the relative crime rates and number of police encounters, the discrepancy disappears.

And again, if your sole focus is one group you miss the bigger and IMHO more important picture.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

bass4funk: But Democrats have been and still use the race card for political gains.

The problem with the Left is that they see racism in everything, even when it's not there or not verified (ie mind reading). That weakens their voice in situations where racism is obvious and proven. It also gives the Right a chance to play their "get out of jail free" card by repeating times when the Left simply got it wrong or didn't look at the nuances of the situation.

The problem with the Right is that they see racism in nothing, even when it's there and verified. They have a false belief that we passed laws on equality and suddenly everything changed, as if America leveled the playing field overnight. Changing the laws is great, but denying blacks the right to own homes 60 years ago is still being felt by a black person today because there's no wealth that's been passed down from his grandparents. The playing field is definitely not level and won't be for quite some time.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Zichi, I am sure you don'T mean that in other than a rhetorical way. If you cannot see the improvements over the past 50 years then I don't think we can have a productive discussion. The incidents you mention are horrific. They are as horrific as they are rare.

Perhaps watch or read an interview with someone like Congressman Burgess Owens, who actually grew up in the deep south under Jim Crow laws. His father wasn't allowed to go to university in their home state. THAT is systemic racism. But to compare the genuine problems of the pre-civil rights era with today is disignenious at best. Just ask yourself- if you were African American, would you rather be alive in the MLK days or today?

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Mass shootings of black churchgoers. Blacks out for a run shot dead by two white guys who pursued him. Black guy dragged along behind a truck. Serving black trooper stopped and threatened by cops in a traffic stop.

Another fact check for you to run up. 16% of homicides on White victim done by Black perpetrator. 8-9% White on Black.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

If America wasn't racist there would be no KKK, Proud Boys, white supremacists. Racism remains ingrained in society.

...or BLM, Black Panthers, Nation of Islam

The Floyd case was won but thousands of others never make it to the courts.

This is true, a lot of dead officers as well and none of the liberal networks pay tributes to the people that try and uphold the law. The US is not perfect, but again, blacks could never reach the level of billionaire status in any other first world nation other than the United States and if whites were so racists every black prominent leader and celeb wouldn’t be where they are today.

-2 ( +7 / -9 )

@Toasted Heretic

Evidently, there are small enclaves (as evidenced above) who watched a different video to the rest of the world.

Links to your videos, please.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

The problem with the Right is that they see racism in nothing, even when it's there and verified.

The difference is that, the left make claims of racism and their media surrogates without a shred of evidence label them as facts.

They have a false belief that we passed laws on equality and suddenly everything changed, as if America leveled the playing field overnight.

It wasn’t overnight and Obama’s Presidency put that rant to sleep. Again, America is not perfect, and we do have problems with racial issues for example, in every major black city that votes for and supports Democrats have the lowest standard of living why is that? For over 60 years the Democrats have done nothing to better the lives of their largest voters and support base.

Changing the laws is great, but denying blacks the right to own homes 60 years ago is still being felt by a black person today

But you can’t lean on that and use that as a legitimate argument or think it will help bolster your argument.

because there's no wealth that's been passed down from his grandparents. The playing field is definitely not level and won't be for quite some time.

So in moving forward what are blacks going to do? Will they stop embracing the Democrat policies that continue to financially hold them down? Will they try and push for less dependency on Federal government and embrace self-reliance and the only solution to upward mobility is to never depend heavily on big government. Will blacks stop listening to white liberals telling them they’re victims and and white conservatives are their oppressors when they( white liberals ) are the ones holding them back socially, economically and racially?

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

And again, if your sole focus is one group you miss the bigger and IMHO more important picture.

Which is?

The are non-white billionaires in other countries too. Not just America.

I’m talking about America the nation where the majority of the richest blacks were born and live in.

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

I’m talking about America the nation where the majority of the richest blacks were born and live in.

You mean all 6 African-American billionaires? Forget the 41.99 African Americans. America is racist and is good for blacks, because 6/41000000 African Americans are billionaires. Good point, Bass.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Zichi, I get where you are coming from. Nobody is saying that there is no racism in the US. THat would be both foolish and wrong. There is. And there are racist people. There always will be. However, there are no racist laws. No racist regulations. No racist institutions. No more "colored only" signs or "white only" waiting rooms. I share you and your daughters' hope that the issue of skin colour will fade away.

Lazarus;: the "more important issue" is refoming police and police culture in general in the US. Better training that focuses on de-escalation tactics, less emphasis on police as revenue generators for cities, and less institutional paranoia/"thin blue line" bs.

This is true, a lot of dead officers as well and none of the liberal networks pay tributes to the people that try and uphold the law.

There were tributes to the dead police officer after the failed insurgency of the Capitol.

Did you not notice any of the events leading up to, during and the aftermath of January 6th?

https://gizmodo.com/white-extremists-sought-murders-of-politicians-and-cops-1846677172

Demands for swift reprisals following the failed Jan. 6 coup resounded across a network of prominent Telegram channels manned by an amalgam of neo-Nazis, anti-government belligerents, and conspiracy-theory hawkers—a veritable open pit of genocidal fanaticism, where names like Adolf Hitler and Anders Breivik are spoken in reverent tones. Amid the usual xenophobic bellyaching, something more deadly arose from the crowd and grasped the attention of Homeland Security agents: calls for the most fanatical of members to launch suicide attacks on Democratic politicians and their Republican counterparts deemed “traitorous” to the cause. Likewise, any cops getting in the way would viewed as suitable targets. The massacres, they were told, should be livestreamed. Those who fell in the attacks would be “Saints.”

The difference is that, the left make claims of racism and their media surrogates without a shred of evidence label them as facts.

This is disingenuous. Myself and others have on numerous occasions linked to the evidence, which is dismissed or not read by the far right commentators.

It's easy for obscenely wealthy people, or those with vested interests to claim there's no racism.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

There were tributes to the dead police officer after the failed insurgency of the Capitol.

The officer the left tried to use to advance their political agenda, the same people that demonized the police for over a year a called for their defunding, but the elites need them like Maxine Waters? She made sure she had the police and private security protect her. So ironic. Now that we know this officer died of natural causes I sincerely hope the left stops using this guy’s name in vain. They got what they wanted yesterday and for many on the left it’s still not enough.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

Most of this 60-second video is about the bad decision made by the cop who used her gun instead of a taser, but his message hits home at the end. Not everyone is a threat. Try talking to people.

According to some because there are no racist laws or segregation there is no racism.

No one is claiming that. The problem is, liberals conflate the two. They link racial problems to racism and although not directly but indirectly implying that the US is a racist nation and it’s not.

Even the rich blacks still experience racism at times. They too are often judged by the color of their skin, not by the color of their skin.

There is also a lot of racism among blacks as well, between light and dark-skinned blacks and that’s another secret that the left refuses to talk about. These are deep topics that liberals and the black community will openly talk about.
