Sen. Harris was universally rejected by the Democratic party during their primaries. I think we can see why. Her knowledge is a mile wide but only an inch deep. I would dread her taking over in the event that a future President Biden was incapacitated. She exhibits all the impatience of Donald Trump combined with the self righteousness of a dedicated statist. Even when VP Biden warned her during debates that she simply couldn't flout or change the Constitution at will, she still vowed to try.

Pence? A steady hand at the wheel. Obviously has learned a lot in the past 4 years.

She went after the worst offenders, she just didn’t seek the death penalty.

I am not a fan of playing Hypocrisy Wars these days. It's a waste of time, both sides do it, it is part of the way politics is played.

I would rather focus on the issues and competency. To me, Sen. Harris did not look in control of many of the issues. She had set talking points, but no real policy. This was particularly true when talking about the Supreme Court and also foreign policy issues/economics. Trump/Pence have a lot to answer for due to Covid, but I didn't hear any credible or concrete alternatives offered by either Biden or Harris. It is far too easy to play Monday morning quarterback without offering anything real in return.

Both were OK, Pence was smoooooooth and very precise, trapped Sen Harris a number of times. She was well prepared but could not be spontaneous, her answers were often nonsensical and off topic. Check the issues she dodged and you can see the truth of where the Democratic ticket wants to go.

35 minutes into the debate and Pence hasn't answered a single question from Susan Page. No concrete plans. There really needs to be real time fact checking.

Lot of non-answers in this debate. Pence talked about a vaccine rather than the importance of an orderly succession if the obese, frail and elderly President who is sick with Coronavirus, and Harris just chatted about her history.

Pence just made a major interruption, and is being allowed to talk well over his time. The moderator tonight doesn't face as big a challenge as Chris Wallace did, but she's also not demonstrating any interest in controlling the debate.
