I remember Billy Crystal described Pence as looking like a man who chased the Von Trapp family through the Alps.

Harris deflected a bit but at least she didn’t totally ignore the questions. As always Trump supporters will say Biden won and Trump can do no wrong but he didn’t come out looking too good! Biden tried his best to defend the administration’s response but he didn’t have anything to work with there. Like Harris said:

That's not what happened. Pence just ran well over his time, ignoring the question he was asked. I don't think he gave more than one straight answer in the whole debate.

Lot of non-answers in this debate. Pence talked about a vaccine rather than the importance of an orderly succession if the obese, frail and elderly President who is sick with Coronavirus, and Harris just chatted about her history.

Pence just made a major interruption, and is being allowed to talk well over his time. The moderator tonight doesn't face as big a challenge as Chris Wallace did, but she's also not demonstrating any interest in controlling the debate.

35 minutes into the debate and Pence hasn't answered a single question from Susan Page. No concrete plans. There really needs to be real time fact checking.

I missed the start, so I'm watching it with a time lag. I haven't spotted the fly on Pence's head yet. As some people have said, the fly must have been attracted to whatever was coming out of Pence's mouth.

I am not a fan of playing Hypocrisy Wars these days. It's a waste of time, both sides do it, it is part of the way politics is played.

I would rather focus on the issues and competency. To me, Sen. Harris did not look in control of many of the issues. She had set talking points, but no real policy. This was particularly true when talking about the Supreme Court and also foreign policy issues/economics. Trump/Pence have a lot to answer for due to Covid, but I didn't hear any credible or concrete alternatives offered by either Biden or Harris. It is far too easy to play Monday morning quarterback without offering anything real in return.

Not one question to Harris about Biden’s racist past and her own attacks on him for his opposition to the busing and integration policies that gave her the opportunity to be in the position she is in today. Sen. Harris was universally rejected by the Democratic party during their primaries. I think we can see why. Her knowledge is a mile wide but only an inch deep. I would dread her taking over in the event that a future President Biden was incapacitated. Final takeaway: Mike Pence was a gentleman, forthright and focused. He delivered his plan for America brilliantly. Kamala Harris behaved like a “Valley Girl,” smirking and rolling her eyes like a petulant brat, dodging every question she was asked.

Pence called out Harris and Biden on a few counts, made her squirm a little , you can see the lack of integrity right there.
