Seems to me that the only time a "coup" is illegal is when it fails!

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Further evidence that Donny is barely literate. What an utter moron.

11 ( +17 / -6 )

I think we should just take a vote on installing Donny as king. It seems to be what the right wants.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

a duly elected president

So were Johnson, Nixon, and Clinton.

Trump supporters have no real defense.

11 ( +17 / -6 )

The White House also indicated opposition to Schumer's requests for the Senate trial. McConnell has previously said there is "no chance" the Senate will convict and remove Trump and that he would work in "total coordination" with the White House and Trump's defense team.

Meaning, McConnell will do exactly what Trump tells him to do, whether or not it's the right thing for the country!

I for one would LOVE for it to go as Trump wants, with witnesses from all sides testifying UNDER OATH, including Trump.

I am quite sure he would hang himself, and not realize he is doing it!

6 ( +9 / -3 )

plasticmonkey - So were Johnson, Nixon, and Clinton.

Trump supporters have no real defense.

The U.S. House Democrats had their chance to introduce evidence, and call all of the witnesses they wanted. Democrats refused to pursue their subpoenas in court. Why? Because they would have had to produce actual evidence, and not hearsay. Plus, Democrats are in a really big hurry to meet their arbitrary timeline.

Now Democrats are asking Senate Republicans to provide evidence for Trump's impeachment. Maybe Democrats are under the impression that Republicans can do a better job than Schiff, Nadler, Pelosi, and Comey did?

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

He's going to lose his mind when Dems vote for impeachment. Yet another permanent stain on the documented con man's record.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

Democrats started with a guilty verdict, and began searching for a crime. For three years. And this is the best that they can do. This may be the slowest coup in the history of coups.

-17 ( +4 / -21 )

Trump had to do this for the public record, and, because the media won’t do it. I think it’s too late now, the Dems will see lots of lost seats in the H of R and it might even flip to the Reps. After having shot off all their lower body parts, the Dems are now working on the torso.

Invalid CSRF

-14 ( +3 / -17 )

Trump, always the victim. He's terrified of being impeached and IT'S ALL NANCY'S FAULT!

Such a mean mommy!

And then trump put this collection of nonsense, aggression and pettiness on letterhead with the Presidential seal, thus permanently disgracing his presidency---for the record.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

The U.S. House Democrats had their chance to introduce evidence, and call all of the witnesses they wanted.

You're blaming House Democrats for Trump refusing to cooperate with the investigation? That's rich.

7 ( +12 / -5 )

In your guts, you know he's nuts.

In coloured pencils, probably. With doodles of naked women or his head with Rambo's body in the margins.

Seems to me that the only time a "coup" is illegal is when it fails!

Well, it fails next month.

Meanwhile Dems still believing the Russia hoax even after the Mueller report exonerated Trump. The lack of proof is no barrier to a belief driven by a severe case of Trump derangement syndrome.

https://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2019/dec/17/maxine-waters-i-believe-trump-putin-conspiracy-eve/?fbclid=IwAR2hXWXHYfNt-5JGezdFEPnkcCS14EO_oPR4QnBdyNGLxBQ81fhMhOxGRTY

-13 ( +2 / -15 )

People just have to accept the fact that Trump will be re-elected in 2020. Okay, so you have 5 more years to get ready for 2024.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

While McConnell said on the floor it was the Senate's role simply to act as a "judge and jury," he later told reporters that he is not "an impartial juror."

McConnell is saying pretty clearly that he knows the president did wrong, but he's not going to do anything about it.

What say ye, Trumpsters?

7 ( +9 / -2 )

You're blaming House Democrats for Trump refusing to cooperate with the investigation? That's rich.

That’s a joke. The House’s coup masterminds didn’t wait for the judicial process to run its course and turned the right to petition the courts into a crime. Clinton was given the right to go to the courts during his impeachment.

I just wish Republicans would have thought of this idea when Obama was stonewalling the investigation of the IRS targeting of conservative groups during the 2012 election cycle. They should have impeached him for obstruction of Congress for failing to have the IRS official who admitted to directing the illegal interference testify to Congress instead of pleading the fifth and for claiming executive privilege to withhold subpoenaed documents.

The impeachment was railroaded through the House. It will be likewise railroaded through the Senate and over in about 4 weeks. Then the House Dems can restart their next impeachment effort. Rinse. Repeat.

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

@wolfpack Meanwhile Dems still believing the Russia hoax even after the Mueller report exonerated Trump

Where in the Mueller Report, the actual one, not one re-re-redacted by far right media, does it say Trump was 'exonerated'? Nowhere. Shame that posters feel so compelled to defend their Trump they're willing to continue spreading alt facts. But then their Trump is the post truth era's poster boy.

I'm not a 'Dem', but I do believe reports written by 'western', including US intelligence agencies that Russians 'meddled' in US political affairs, and they did so to help Trump. Only the global far right and other Putin backers believe the Kremlin's reports.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

the Mueller report exonerated Trump.

"That is not what the report said."

--Robert Mueller

6 ( +8 / -2 )

"That is not what the report said."

So by your logic Trump was not found guilty of anything- therefore he is guilty? The Left is irrational and dangerous.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

plasticmonkey - You're blaming House Democrats for Trump refusing to cooperate with the investigation? That's rich.

Why would you think that? It's obvious that elected Democrats are doing the very best job they are capable of doing. Unfortunately, they're incompetent. The House is supposed to gather evidence for impeachment, vote for, or against, impeachment, and then the Senate is supposed to vote on that evidence. The fact that Schumer is now asking the Senate to provide more evidence for impeachment suggests that even Democrats understand that they don't have a case, and can't convince the voting public to back their impeachment coup. Ain't politics fun?

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Can’t wait to get this farce over with, the country has real issues to deal with, impeach the guy, move it to the Senate and Mitch acquit him and let him run the country without any further distractions, enough already!

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

The U.S. House Democrats had their chance to introduce evidence, and call all of the witnesses they wanted. Democrats refused to pursue their subpoenas in court. Why? Because they would have had to produce actual evidence, and not hearsay

What definition of hearsay are you using?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

PTownsend: Where in the Mueller Report, the actual one, not one re-re-redacted by far right media, does it say Trump was 'exonerated'? Nowhere.

Where in the Mueller report - not dreamed up in the fever swamps of the alt-Left blogosphere - does it say Trump committed a crime? Nowhere! Since when in Western jurisprudence has not being found to have committed a crime infer guilt?

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Well, it fails next month.

In what country will a coup occur next month? I know you can’t be honestly saying that about the US. That would be the height of intellectual dishonesty.

Meanwhile Dems still believing the Russia hoax even after the Mueller report exonerated Trump.

It didn’t exonerate him. A peak of intellectual dishonesty here.

The lack of proof is no barrier to a belief driven by a severe case of Trump derangement syndrome.

Gaslighting. Trumpophiles have no evidence from which to mount a defense of Donny, so they always go for disparagement. Ignore the pile of evidence offered by Donny’s own people.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

So by your logic Trump was not found guilty of anything- therefore he is guilty?

‘Tis, ladies and gentlemen, is the logic failure called a false duality. At this point, we don’t know whether Donny is guilty or innocent because that his not been determined by a tryer of fact.

The Left is irrational and dangerous.

Rightists calling anyone irrational and dangerous is frightening because they have a lot of firearms and very little pre-frontal cortex development.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

@wolfpackWhere in the Mueller report

Please show me where in the Mueller report it says Trump was 'exonerated', which is the word previously used. Without changing the subject. If not, I'll continue thinking what was written was just once more another Trump supporter sliming the truth to defend their Trump.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

I bet his victim mentality kicks into overdrive tomorrow and he breaks his own tweet record.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Can’t wait to get this farce over with, the country has real issues to deal with, impeach the guy, move it to the Senate and Mitch acquit him

Because Massacre Mitch cares only about power. Very patriotic.

and let him run the country without any further distractions, enough already!

Lmao! Donny’s a walking distraction. The entire republicans could have a super majority in Congress and Donny would still be inflicting wounds in himself, his administration, and our country.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Numan - Trump's whistleblower claim receives 2019 'Lie of the Year' award from fact-checker PolitiFact.

But the House Democrats did not include that tidbit in their chosen list of charges.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

But the House Democrats did not include that tidbit in their chosen list of charges.

Okay. If we start adding an article of impeachment for every one of Donny’s lies, we’ll greatly contribute to deforestation.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Rightists calling anyone irrational and dangerous is frightening because they have a lot of firearms and very little pre-frontal cortex development.

Schiff getting booed yesterday, seems like irrational California has just smelled a big fat rat walking on stage and realizing the guy is full of crap.

https://youtu.be/qLdMAbvXwmw

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Schiff getting booed yesterday,

by Trump's anti-impeachment protesters. Has anyone read whether they were paid to do so? If so, that would be easy to understand. Trump's the best thing that's ever happened to the 'establishment', the so called 'elite' who've got even richer and more powerful during his reign. The 'elite' in the US and around the globe will continue using their fortunes to protect Trump.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

It is pity to see that the best president for USA is being bullied and attacked by a short time majority of opposition in the house. They are haters of Trump, Trump made USA a great nation. He will keep it great again. The foundation he is laying will keep USA greatest for next 20 years. The China lovers, the left, the Russia lovers are very unhappy of what Trump is doing. This is so pity. This is a banana congress. Cheaper than the un educated third world politics .... Such a shame for the Nation.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

by Trump's anti-impeachment protesters. Has anyone read whether they were paid to do so?

Have Democrats even read the Constitution? It’s a document, not a roll of toilet paper.

If so, that would be easy to understand. Trump's the best thing that's ever happened to the 'establishment', the so called 'elite' who've got even richer and more powerful during his reign.

Yes, all those rich and powerful liberals just love Trump.

The 'elite' in the US and around the globe will continue using their fortunes to protect Trump.

What?

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

It is pity to see that the best president for USA is being bullied and attacked by a short time majority of opposition in the house.

I am actually enjoying the futility of the Lefts coup attempt. Pelosi admitted yesterday that she has been trying impeach the president since he was elected. There is a good chance that even Romney, a man who has personal hatred towards him, will vote to exonerate him.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Have Democrats even read the Constitution? It’s a document, not a roll of toilet paper

Irrelevant to Donny paying anti-impeachment protesters to boo dems.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

I am actually enjoying the futility of the Lefts coup attempt

What coup?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Irrelevant to Donny paying anti-impeachment protesters to boo dems.

No, it’s all relevant. Dems are getting booed at Townhalls, they are now heading over the cliff of political oblivion. Idiots like President Swalwell thinks 58% of independents will just agree and accept this farce. When you have people in California booing this farce, you got a serious problem.

But yeah, let’s get to the Senate and get it acquitted, it’s all gotten so boring.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

I am actually enjoying the futility of the Lefts coup attempt.

I'm not enjoying the reality that the House has to spend time and effort because of the attempts by Trump and his far right backers to undermine the Constitution so Trump can use the executive branch to trump Congress and the courts to install a system of corporatist authoritarianism. But if the republic is to remain intact, if Congress can stop Trump's coup attempts (backed by the global elite), then it's worth it.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

What an embarrassing display of stupidity from Donny!!!!!

Just when you think he has touched rock bottom, Donny debases himself even more.

A 10 year old could have written better stuff.

PTownsend - I'm not enjoying the reality that the House has to spend time and effort because of the attempts by Trump and his far right backers to undermine the Constitution

Democrats began their attempts to impeach Trump immediately after they realized that Hillary had just lost her 2nd attempt to become POTUS.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

But yeah, let’s get to the Senate and get it acquitted, it’s all gotten so boring.

Oh no Bass, it’s just getting good. This will be a completely partisan impeachment by Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler. After months claiming that they could only impeach on a bipartisan basis, they are doing it anyway. The trial will either be short and over quickly or it will be fair for a change with Trump witnesses testifying for the first time. Either way, Trump will get exonerated- the flip side of the House’s partisan Schiff show.

Now 20 to 30 Dems is districts Trump carried will have to defend their completely partisan, waste of time coup attempt. Republicans will likely gain seats even though there have been so many GOP retirements. A few Dems will vote against impeachment making it bipartisan in Trumps favor. This is just getting good. January should be fun.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

If Dems proved it all as they claim, they don’t need evidence and witnesses in the Senate, right? Our turn to talk to people who haven’t been heard from yet.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

its gonna be so great when Dems are annihilated in the elections because of this. Trump is going to tell us all how he even wrote a 6 page letter “full of love”to try to convince them not to do it, but they just didn’t listen....gonna be hillaryious.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Donny's 6 page letter will be in museums shortly, a juvenile document which resulted in the demise of a once great party!!

The total lack of intelligence in this incoherent piece of garbage points to Donny's sharpie and Stephanie Grisham's typing skills.

Any self-respecting communication executive would have refused anything to do with it.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Donny's 6 page letter will be in museums shortly, a juvenile document which resulted in the demise of a once great party!!

So what’s the Democrats excuse for a party?

The total lack of intelligence in this incoherent piece of garbage points to Donny's sharpie and Stephanie Grisham's typing skills.

And yet the intellectual skills of the House Democrats undercuts their illogical rationalization For doing this.

Any self-respecting communication executive would have refused anything to do with it.

Hmmmm.....

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Best joke so far ....2020!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Now 20 to 30 Dems is districts Trump carried will have to defend their completely partisan, waste of time coup attempt.

You mean 20-30 seats that Democratic congresspeople won in 2018? Why do Trump cultists think 2016 is more recent than 2018? Is this related to the "biggest crowds ever" and "5 million illegal voters" math difficulties they have?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Those 20-30 seats are in Trump districts that will still support Trump in 2020.

Dems ran a bunch of "moderate" candidates with intelligence agency or military backgrounds who said they would work with Trump if elected.

Those were lies. The voters in those districts still support Trump and will remove those who vote to impeach him.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Man, I wish that when I go on trial I can have most of the jury (senate) belonging to the same club that I belong to...and that I lead.

Seriously, the system is broke. How about the president gets recalled if the vote to remain falls below 50% (ie in this impeachment case, etc - he has to get majority vote of citizens in referendum) to remain in office. Or, actually put the president on a trial with real judges (9-member supreme court) upon suspicion of any wrongdoing by civil servant AG (independent and nonpartisan as opposed to the current clusterflopp we have). No politicians. Their votes are tainted.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Dems and the media going crazy over the letter.

CNN compares it to something Kim Jung Un would have written. Triggered!

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Donald's going to blow a gasket tomorrow when he becomes the 3rd President to ever get impeached. It will forever be part of his family name and referenced with his presidency. And knowing that is going to drive him absolutely crazy.

Get ready for the world's largest victim card tomorrow...

4 ( +6 / -2 )

His name will be tainted forever.

I mean, it already was. But this is definitely a club he deserves to be in.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Your Dem Congressman was impeached. For actual crimes. He is a member of this club too. But he is doing fine, has been reelected many times and will actually vote to impeach Trump.

"In 1988, the Democratic-controlled United States House of Representatives took up the case, and Alcee Hastings was impeached for bribery and perjury by a vote of 413–3."

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Yes, especially the ones who are running for President in 2020. But I dont hear any Dems calling for them to be recused.

No politicians. Their votes are tainted.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Strangerland: I mean, it already was. But this is definitely a club he deserves to be in.

Oh, this one is going to be special. When he leaves office and we see him getting on the chopper, at some point during that process the world will hear that he was the 3rd president ever impeached in the US. It will always be a part of any summary of Donald Trump.

The 3rd President ever impeached in the 250 year history of the United States. Tomorrow we pin that on him.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

You mean 20-30 seats that Democratic congresspeople won in 2018?

https://www.rollcall.com/news/one-year-democrats-dominate-10-vulnerable-house-members-2020

Republicans need a net gain of 19 seats to win control of the House, and they see their path back to the majority running through so-called Trump districts that slipped from the party’s grasp in the midterms. Whether they succeed depends on next year’s political climate and the strength of their candidates. In some districts, the GOP has worked hard to recruit more diverse challengers, especially after Democrats’ success electing women last year.

Why do Trump cultists think 2016 is more recent than 2018?

Why do liberals think that 2018 will be a shoe in for them in 2020?

Is this related to the "biggest crowds ever" and "5 million illegal voters" math difficulties they have?

Show me one Democrat of these candidates that can exceed supporters in at any Trump rally? Which one gets over 20,000+ at every rally?

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

45 and 3.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

It will forever be part of his family name and referenced with his presidency. And knowing that is going to drive him absolutely crazy.

He has other accomplishments that’ll be on his record from the economy 42% higher than expected showing that’s definitely something to brag about, the USMCA, had the “50th federal appeals judge confirmed.” In contrast, “Obama only had 55 judges overall in 8 years. He has 50 in 3 years.” “12 week paid parental leave” was also accomplished a major victory, National Defense Authorization Act” so “Space Force actually has money now.”

But yeah, the Dems have for 2018 impeachment going for them nothing else. Flawless victory for Trump.

Get ready for the world's largest victim card tomorrow...

Dunno, seems like House Dems are complaining because they want the Senate GOP to follow the same rules Schiff and Nadler created. ROFL?

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Trump abused his power of office for personal political gain, breaking emolument laws.

You can try to pretend that's nothing all you want. It's something.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Donald's going to blow a gasket tomorrow when he becomes the 3rd President to ever get impeached. It will forever be part of his family name and referenced with his presidency. And knowing that is going to drive him absolutely crazy.

He's not gonna blow a gasket or go crazy, that's what the Dems are gonna do if they don't get the votes to impeach, or if they do, when the Senate throws it out and again when he gets re-elected in a landslide.

If he does get impeached by this do-nothing House of Representatives, he'll wear it as a badge of honor.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

So what’s the Democrats excuse for a party?

Values, you might need to look that up though , right wing nutters don't have much clue what that means.

And yet the intellectual skills of the House Democrats undercuts their illogical rationalization For doing this.

ROFL. Compared to what? The intellectual skills of a party whose members exhort their members not to send children to good colleges...

3 ( +4 / -1 )

While McConnell said on the floor it was the Senate's role simply to act as a "judge and jury," he later told reporters that he is not "an impartial juror."

Listening to the BBC News this morning, they had an interview with a Supreme Court judge (Ruth Ginsberg), who pointed out that if a judge has a preconceived opinion regarding what the verdict in a particular trial should be, s/he is obliged to recuse him/herself from that trial: and that when picking a jury, potential jurors who show a distinct bias either way are weeded out.

It seems to be a foregone conclusion that all the Republican 'judges' in this impeachment trial have already made up their minds before the trial has even begun. History will record that American politicians acted to benefit themselves and their party, not their country.

Shame.

The back seat? It's cute that you don't think the democrats will be campaigning hard on the Republicans enabling corruption in the highest office.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The farcical current occupant of the White House is closer to the end of the rope. Again, he confirms he is unfit to be President of the United States of America (POTUS).

If he had any scruples, would have resigned sometime ago instead of ruining the country.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Trump abused his power of office for personal political gain, breaking emolument laws.

That's what the Democrats are trying to get you to believe. Apparently they snookered you.

Hey, question for the pro-impeachment posters: Why was George W. Bush not impeached for ordering the illegal invasion of Iraq, but Trump is being impeached over a phone call to the Ukrainian president asking him to look into corruption? I can give you a definitive answer to the first part of the question. A certain Democrat voted for the invasion. A really powerful one, one who remains free to this day in spite of clear evidence of felonies committed.

Why, when they went Democratic more recently?

Why do liberals think that 2018 will be a shoe in for them in 2020?

I don't think it is a shoe-in.

Show me one Democrat of these candidates that can exceed supporters in at any Trump rally? Which one gets over 20,000+ at every rally?

I did. When I gave figures that showed that Bernie's campaign launch rally attracted thousands more people than Trump's campaign announcement rally, you just ignored it, breaking your promise to shut up about rally sizes ever again.

So the answer is: Bernie.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

So people who are running for Trumps job in 2020 have no preference in how this all turns out?

Fine, they can be recused from being jurors and be disallowed from mentioning the impeachment in any fundraising or debates.

potential jurors who show a distinct bias either way are weeded out.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Values, you might need to look that up though , right wing nutters don't have much clue what that means.

Neither do Democrats, not even in the slightest.

ROFL. Compared to what? The intellectual skills of a party whose members exhort their members not to send children to good colleges...

I see, but it is OK for the Democrats to lie and fake reasons to impeach a president to overturn a president that was duly elected by the people, interesting. And besides the only thing that you learn in college nowadays is how to be a leftist political activist. And in the end the only job you can can’t get later is on the streets panhandling, go figure California, NY, Oregon, Washington....

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

It's cute that you don't think the democrats will be campaigning hard on the Republicans enabling corruption in the highest office.

They have been and it hasn’t been helping them that much, especially in swing states were it counts.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

And besides the only thing that you learn in college nowadays is how to be a leftist political activist.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Man, I wish that when I go on trial I can have most of the jury (senate) belonging to the same club that I belong to...and that I lead.

What if you were accused of a crime and had no right to have the right to an attorney to defend yourself against the prosecution? Both Nixon and Clinton were allowed this basic Constitutional right when they were subjected to impeachment. Trump was not. After denying the Republicans the right to call witnesses and ask questions free from being cut off during the Schiff show the Dems have no leverage to demand anything in the Senate trial.

The most hilarious thing now is Senator Schumer going around demanding a fair trial in the Senate. He seems to have forgotten that the right to a fair trial is for the accused- not the prosecution. Idiot.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

He seems to have forgotten that the right to a fair trial is for the accused- not the prosecution. Idiot.

Actually, the idiot was given a chance to appear in person and argue his defense , but he was too chicken to do that!! ROFL.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Trump is unhinged and should be impeached and removed for that alone. The man is clearly a threat to U.S. national security and mentally unfit to serve. Go back to running bankrupt casinos in Atlantic City.

"All roads lead to Putin." . . . Nancy Pelosi

She's absolutely right. Trump runs for cover like a chicken at the mere mention of Putin's name. Why is Trump so frightened of Putin?

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Even if the impeachment fails, conservatives won’t be able to bring the Constitution anymore in any discussion or debates.

Trump over party over country.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Meanwhile Dems still believing the Russia hoax even after the Mueller report exonerated Trump.

Fake news. Trump was not exonerated by the Mueller report.

Why do Trumpists insist on posting false information?

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

To all Trumpsters, which of the following are true?

Trump wanted Ukraine to investigate Hunter Biden.

Trump wanted Ukraine to publicly announce such an investigation.

Trump clearly indicated in his own "transcript" that military aid was contingent on such an investigation. ("I want you to do us a favor though.")

Trump had his personal lawyer conducting foreign policy for the United States.

Trump still wants Ukraine to investigate Hunter Biden. So does his personal lawyer.

Hunter Biden is frontrunner Joe Biden's son.

Trump withheld congressionally appropriated military aid to Ukraine until the story came out.

Trump's personal lawyer and "acting" chief of staff both admitted that military aid was withheld in return for an investigation of Hunter Biden.

Trump has refused to cooperate in the investigation, a clear act of obstruction.

It's telling that Trump supporters' defense of their lord and savior mostly rests on two points: 1) Trump is going to get away with it and win, so ha ha, and 2) we hate libs/Dems. I see very little of substance.

Trump has refused to cooperate in the investigation, a clear act of obstruction

democrats refused to give Trump a fair hearing and a fair trial and they wouldn’t even give the house Republicans a fair chance, but now the tables will be turned in the Senate, so the Republicans can now play the partisan games and throw it right back in their face and then for final coup de grace, acquit him. Lol

want to turn over the votes by the people of a duly elected President.

Your argument has no substance, as usual. The constitution allows for impeachment, regardless of how many red-hatted idiots voted for him.

democrats refused to give Trump a fair hearing and a fair trial

It's not a trial yet. Trump was offered a chance to testify and he refused. Trump will also not be allowed by his own party to testify in a Senate trial.

I love the circular reasoning. The trial is unfair because Trump isn't testifying because he doesn't want to participate in an unfair trial in which he is refusing to cooperate.

throw it right back in their face and then for final coup de grace, acquit him. Lol

Injustice is so funny, Lol

By the way, you haven't refuted any of the facts I stated before. You have no leg to stand on.

He said he wanted to testify, have his say but seems to have reversed that idea.

Republicans can now play the partisan games

"Now". LOL

It's nothing of the sort except a typically weird non-sequitur from a Trumpist. Trump is clearly unwell, that doesn't mean or make HRC the answer.

If he is indeed unwell, then he would not receive nearly a third of the support he’s receiving now. So.....

Liberals? Shame on Nazis who want to keep a deeply disturbed crook in the office of President. An office that he has disgraced.

liberals are the only people that have nowhere to run but use racism, or race to use any type of fascist tactics to overturn an election of a duly noted president.

Shifty Schiff also declined to testify in the Senate trial...oh, well.

Pelosi, Trump wrote, "is turning the House of Representatives from a revered legislative body into a Star Chamber of partisan persecution" while "scarcely concealing your hatred of me."

Trump is quite correct. Of course, for those of us who consume the BBC, CNN, NYT etc as their opinion source, it sounds like heresy.

Not from his south side of the track

I guess that makes him an unreliable narrator, like his leader.

And the term "shifty" has some dodgy connotations. Which, if pointed out here, are removed. The objections to the term, not the actual term.

Mugabe? What? Anyway....

You're not even able to follow up a point you made about leaders, their health and public support. Astounding.

So then tell the Democrats to use those same tactics

Sigh. I am not a liberal, nor a Democrat. This is about Trump, your deflection is not getting us anywhere.

Then Schiff should step down. Wasted his money on law school for nothing.

And the term "shifty" has some dodgy connotations.

Now liberals that call Trump names are worried about connotations, seriously?

because they’re chickening out of this impeachment hoax,

Fake news. It's the law, it's in the Constitution. Trump is being investigated because he's not divine, he's not a monarch and he's not above the law.

Why do Trumpists post misinformation and bogus statements?

What a circus.

But actually Trump revels in this.

No, I think it is really the way he interacts with the outside world. He does what he wants and then turns on this routine to distract people from what is indefensible and criminal behavior.

No reason to expect anything different now.

The hard part is seeing this example of extreme partisanship from the GoP. I can understand the GoP's position. They are losing young and educated voters and are barely hanging on to power, so the GoP is doing everything they can to avoid losing power. Even if it means trashing the constitution.

Not entirely true. You also have to take into account that most liberals are young and naïve and tend to grow more conservative as they get older liberals never take that into consideration, so it’s in a way kind of a washout.

"The GoP can't handle the truth."

It's the law, it's in the Constitution.

Constitutionally, the Senate Republicans can also call foul on this impeachment, and constitutionally they don’t have to take this up and can go for an acquittal.
