Time for the democrats to move on to their next manufactured "crisis". lol the only crisis manufactured are of Trumps doing , Dems are just responding to idiocy

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The authorities are responsible for their lives, health and safety and general well being.

Are you aware of how many illegal migrants die every year while being smuggled into the US by cartel coyotes? Or how many are left behind to die in the desert because they were injured or just couldn't keep up? Are you aware of how many migrants lives have been saved by border patrol agents rescuing them from death by exposure or being crammed into a shipping container and left to die by the smugglers?

Ever hear of a "rape tree"? That's the way the cartel coyotes mark their territory and reinforce the message of their power and complete control over their victims. After they rape females in the group they hang an article of the victim's clothing (usually undergarments) on a tree as a trophy. Those monuments to cruelty are common in the border states. Having the freedom to rape anyone they choose is considered to be one of the perks of being a cartel coyote. Rape on the migrant trail is so pervasive that mothers routinely give their daughters 'day after' pills and/or oral contraception to protect them from pregnancy in the almost certain chance that they will be raped on the road.

When you state that "the authorities are responsible" just which authorities are you referring to? The Mexican authorities that facilitate and profit from cartel human trafficking? If so, then you would be correct. If any authorities are to be held responsible for the loss of life among the migrants or the damage to their health, lack of safety or the general degradation of their well being then it would be them.

Although US authorities are not responsible for the suffering, death and degradation of these migrants they have nonetheless taken on the "responsibility" for saving the lives of cartel victims, providing them with nutrition, healthcare, a safe environment as well as educational, social and recreational opportunities. So far, I haven't heard of any of the juvenile detainees being raped, murdered or locked in a shipping container on the side of a hot desert highway.

Given the hardships inflicted on these kids by the human trafficking industry (with the direct involvement of their own parents) removing these minors from this pipeline of exploitation can reasonably be looked at as a humanitarian rescue mission.

Can we please stop going on about uncooperative Democrats?! With their majority in BOTH houses, the Republicans DO NOT NEED A SINGLE DEMOCRATIC VOTE to pass anything they want to pass!! They are being stymied by THEIR OWN REPUBLICAN COLLEAGUES!!

Cleo and others who are just so incensed at the idea of a child being separated from a parent

Do you bother to actually read what people write before going off on a rant telling them how wrong they are because of one anecdotal case? No, of course you don't.

My recollection of the word 'deplorable' was not in response to 'the idea of a child being separated from a parent'. It was an attempt to describe the mentality of the kind of person who can rejoice at the idea of little children and their parents being held indefinitely in some soulless detention centre on the whim of some judge.

What do you think of the little girl crying on the Time Magazine cover.

I hadn't seen it so I had thought literally nothing of it. I googled it to find the Guardian describes it as 'the US president looking down at a sobbing two-year-old girl next to the caption “Welcome to America”.' So far so accurate. That is exactly what it shows. The accompanying article explains that is is 'a photograph taken at the US border by Getty photographer John Moore this week. Showing the toddler’s distress while her mother is searched and detained'. No mention of the little girl being snatched away from her mother.

You've been duped people. Played. By the anti-Trump liberal media that doesn't care a damn about truth.

Not as duped as the pro-Trump fools tying their tongues in knots as they struggle to continue to back their hero when he does a 180-degree turn and calls them heartless for agreeing with him a day earlier.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

I have the perfect solution for all of this. Canada's Prime Minister is full of love and acceptance and criticism of Trump. They have a much lower population and lots of space up there. So Just like Mexico is happy for people from South and Central America to go through their country and into the US, just give everyone a shower, some food, clean clothes and put them on buses and drop them off at the Canadian border.

Thousands? Millions? Canada would love to have them. And they'll keep them in families too!

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

"There was a word that just aptly describes this kind of mentality. Now what was it?

Deplorable?"

So, Cleo and others who are just so incensed at the idea of a child being separated from a parent.

What do you think of the little girl crying on the Time Magazine cover. The photo that broke everyones heart and made out Trump to be a monster.

That girl wasn't separated at all. Her mother put her down for a few moments so the mother could be searched.

So firstly, she wasn't crying because she was separated. But talk about separation? Ready to cry? The mother left behind three other kids. Not forced separation - totally voluntary. She just left three kids and took this little girl on a dangerous trek. Was she starving? No. In fact she could pay 6000 dollars to smugglers. Maybe that isn't a lot to you - but it is if you're starving. Actually in Honduras, it pays for a years rent. I know lots of Americans and Japanese who don't have a 12 months rent money.

Her husband didn't even want her to go! But she ignored him and just vanished with the little girl.

How would her husband feel? We know - he thinks she was irresponsible. Will Time Magazine go and take a photo of the three crying children separated from their mother because .....

she wanted a "dream job" in America?

Dry your tears people. No don't! Start crying about the poor man back in Honduras. And the three kids without their mother. He wants his wife and little daughter back. Maybe the kids are hoping their mother and little sister will come home.

You've been duped people. Played. By the anti-Trump liberal media that doesn't care a damn about truth.

Signing this order means zilch. Trump is embarrassed that he got caught. He won't stop his evil deeds of kidnapping children and holding them hostage so he can cry and bellyache for money for his unnecessary stupid wall.

the way he backs down is full of theatrical act, used his wife and daughter as a stepping

stone to cover up his mistake and embarrassment , and also benefit his family to gain a better image from public.

what a deal!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Um, what?

1, if it's bipartisan, then the GOP is included. #2, if you won't go along with any bipartisan deal, then you don't have the votes to pass anything.

Sorry, there is no way that they’ll be any bipartisan support if there is no into the chain migration no end to sanctuary cities no end to catch and release no funding for the wall, it just won’t happen. So what will the Democrats do about it? Oh, that’s right, they will do nothing because it under cuts all the arguments.

So stop complaining that Democrats "won't sit down with Republicans to work something out" if your position is that you refuse to pass anything bipartisan.

I’m not complaining about the Democrats, I’m just saying what it is and that the Democrats are full of you know what that is it starts with an S. The Democrats cannot make the moral high ground that they care about this issue, they were completely stagnant on the issue when Obama was president they were completely stagnant on the issue when Bush was president, but because they have such animosity towards this man and because everything else failed to try to get this guy, they will use every tactic that they can find and they found one with these kids

BTW, your hardline immigration bill got torpedoed in the House today, 231-193. The vote for the more moderate bill was delayed as most people weren't sure what was in it.

But it will also fail.

There is a long way to go in the more that people see that the Democrats are not willing to close the border into let people in, the more that they see that the president and sessions will follow up on their zero tolerance policy they will keep filling up the detention centers, but of course with families united, but either way the Democrats are not going to get a foothold this issue anymore

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

He’s head of his party

So if they folded, it's because he folded.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

the GOP will never go along with any bipartisan deal

Someone just showed they never bothered to use a dictionary to look up the big words.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

the GOP will never go along with any bipartisan deal

Um, what?

1, if it's bipartisan, then the GOP is included. #2, if you won't go along with any bipartisan deal, then you don't have the votes to pass anything. So stop complaining that Democrats "won't sit down with Republicans to work something out" if your position is that you refuse to pass anything bipartisan.

But it will also fail.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Both bills had the votes to pass, which is specifically why Ryan and Beohner refused to put them to a vote. It wasn't voted down, they refused to hold a vote to kill a bill that would have passed.

It wouldn’t have passsed. As long as Democrats don’t put an end to chain migration, the visa lottery, catch and release and funding for the wall, the GOP will never go along with any bipartisan deal. Then let the dreamers hang.

I can't keep explaining these things to you. Your hardline stance is specifically why the compromise bipartisan bills fail.

Back at you.

If you won't budge, then dont budge, but don't blame others for your hardline stance which gets nothing accomplished. Just like both of the GOP only bills that will both fail.

Well, back to you as well. The left want open borders, it’s vital to their lifeline and that has to end. We welcome everyone from everywhere, but if you come to the US come legally, but we all know legal immigration hurts Democrats.

There's an old saw that has been around for ages, "the Right sees the Left as wrong, the Left sees the Right as evil" and this "Easy Rider" incident is a good example of why that just be the case.

In his first tweet Fonda calls for the doxing of federal agents and for their children's schools to be "surrounded" and "protested". Apparently to punish all of the children in the school because some of their classmates have a federal agent for a parent. Being protested could be traumatic.

He reinforced that with a subsequent tweet where he stated "WE NEED TO SCARE THE F*** OUT OF THEM! NEED TO MAKE THEIR CHILDREN WORRY NOW" (his caps).  This is a guy calling for the terrorizing of children as a means of protesting a policy he perceives as terrorizing children. I mean, really?

Then to cap it off, he calls for the son of the President of the United States to be caged with pedophiles, I assume, with the implication that he would(or should) be raped.

Yet in spite of his calling for targeting innocent children for harassment, terrorizing and rape, Mr. Fonda is being vigorously defended on social media for his strong social justice stance. And a list of doxed federal agents is being dutifully shared by his twitter followers.

How such incredible inconsistencies can fly is amazing. But it's easier to understand when you think about the adage I referred to in the first sentence and how Mr. Fonda ended his first tweet "THESE AGENTS ARE DOING THIS CUZ THEY WANT TO DO IT. THEY LIKE DOING THIS." (his caps) Why would these agents like doing this? Because they're evil, wicked, mean and nasty.

It's easy to get a good hate on when the subject of your hate is evil. And evil people need to be brought to heel. Even if you have to rape their kids.

Both bills had the votes to pass, which is specifically why Ryan and Beohner refused to put them to a vote. It wasn't voted down, they refused to hold a vote to kill a bill that would have passed.

The damage is done -- in the November midterm elections American voters will unleash their fury. There will be no Republicans left in the House and Senate. That will pave the way for impeachment proceedings against Big Orange Man, the baby torturer.

Wow, great to know your stocks are doing good, nishikat! Hee hee!

Yes, and Trump followers directly connect Trump to this. If President Hillary were the actual president they would be going down. They don't care about the kid snatching as long as stocks keep going up and up. Maybe I can retire very soon. As long as the stocks are up the kid snatching can continue. Right Trump followers?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

And if he hadn't signed this executive order you would have called him cruel, lol

If Trump were exterminating these kids like roaches his followers would still be supporting him. It doesn't matter what Trump does. His followers always follow and they don't think for themselves.

Ask the Democrats, all of whom voted against it, about that.

No, it's Trump's fault. He promised from day 1 (and the Mexicans would pay) Just like his caving in from snatching kids from parents and no Hillary arrest No wall = Trump failure out of many.

Yeah, how come Obama

Trump tried. He tried to take care of business by kid snatching but he failed. Trump is weak. And looks like these kids will get freebies for life. Trump is failing with immigration because he caved in with the kid snatching.

Are we already back to square one?

Darn it, I guess so....

I gave you two examples of bipartisan bills that would have passed, both killed by GOP leadership because they would have passed.

And I gave you examples that it wouldn’t pass because it doesn’t cover the very thing that almost every conservative wants. Funding for the wall, end catch and release, end chain migration, end the visa lottery, there is no wriggle room around that. The Dems in return get up to 1.5 million DACA recipients legalized.

That’s Democrats coming to the table and negotiating with Republicans,

No, that’s Democrats saying, we want open borders and we won’t go along with anything that will stop it.

and Republicans killing bipartisan legislation to please the hardliners in their own party.

I would take an AR-15 and blow that up.

You can’t demand all of your points then turn around and say a deal isn’t done because someone else isn’t compromising.

So let me get this straight, and just stay focused me for one moment, if Trump legalizes 1.5 million illegal immigrants, the left is not happy with that? That’s not enough? That went up from 800,000 and now you’re going up to close to 2 million and you’re still not satisfied? Look, even the amount for the right it’s almost too much, but they are willing to give in to the high number as long as the Democrats give the Republicans what they want, they say they care so deeply about these kids, but if that is true then show it.

Your position is literally the opposite of compromise and the lack of legislation is the result.

No, it is trying to compromise and to compromise with something that I really don’t agree with, but will give in if my side gets what they want so I’m laying it all out there on the table, but I know the Democrats don’t want to do that, they don’t want to cut their lifeline.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

The signing of the EO by Trump will do very little for the 2,000 + children already detained.

They might have no choice but to give them full citizenship. I bet the Trump voters will be happy all those tax dollars will go for all those freebie medical care and education. Boy if I were a Trump voter I would be steaming. Another failure by Trump. But it's OK because my 401k is rocking. Somehow having Trump in the WH is good for my stocks. Just for some reason he is.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

nishikat: " Trump caved. He's weak."

And if he hadn't signed this executive order you would have called him cruel, lol

" Now about that wall that Trump said Mexico would pay for. I don't seem to see any pictures of that great structure going up."

Ask the Democrats, all of whom voted against it, about that.

zichi: "What a mess!"

Yeah, how come Obama and before him Bush and before him Billy Boy didn't do anything about this mess? Trump inherited the mess and he is endeavoring to fix it.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Trump caved. He's weak. Let's look at his failures. No wall, no Hillary arrest, no muslim ban, and now he's failed at keeping his promise of snatching kids from their parents. I am going to predict another failure of Trump. Right now they don't know what's going to happen to the kids who are currently snatched from their parents. I predict Trump will have no choice but to give them citizenship so they can mooch on the system. Free healthcare, education, and foodstamps. And it will be all Trump's fault. Now about that wall that Trump said Mexico would pay for. I don't seem to see any pictures of that great structure going up.

Today Trump decided the pen was mightier than the sword.

And that might not be a bad thing politically strategically speaking.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

But you guys signed him because he's tough, and doesn't take anything from everyone. He's the un-politician.

He’s head of his party, like Schumer he wants to survive, although the Dems did an about face from what they used to say about immigration, but hey, it’s Democrats, as in “Demo” a play a spiel.

So it can't have been the GOP,

But it was, they all caved and they all urged the President and like Schumer, this is an election year, think. So he did what he didn’t want to do and I get it, it from thr optics, it was politically, the smart move, now shove it back to Schumer and his buddies.

No, that can't be. It's occam's razor. The simplest answer is the truth. He folded.

Not at all, he didn’t cave in, but the pressure was mounting and he made the right call.

Because if it wasn't him, then it doesn't just mean he folded, it means he folded to the GOP. And they also folded. It's a freaking origami convention around here with all the folding.

You're starting to sound like Kenny Rogers, anyway, folding is not giving up or giving in, losing a fight doesn’t mean you lost the war, not by a long shot. Give it back to the Dems and let us see how and if they really care for these kids or if it’s just more liberal bloviating.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Bass: and if the Democrats don’t come to the table and do something about immigration by November and work with the Republicans then the arrow is on them and then once again they would look like total idiots and obstructionists.

Are we already back to square one? I gave you two examples of bipartisan bills that would have passed, both killed by GOP leadership because they would have passed. That’s Democrats coming to the table and negotiating with Republicans, and Republicans killing bipartisan legislation to please the hardliners in their own party.

Earlier this week, the liberal were shrieking that "the children" were being separated from their families. Today, they are melting down because they got what they demanded: "the children" of illegal alien nuclear families are reunited.

The left's dumpster fire will never seem to burn itself out.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

I don’t think he’s a coward, he just never backs down

He just did. It was either to the American people, or to the GOP. Which one is unclear, but the fact that he backed down is entirely clear.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Signing a signature does it mean that you’re giving in or giving up, but often times when you’re under pressure you have to do things in order to get things back to civility

But you guys signed him because he's tough, and doesn't take anything from everyone. He's the un-politician.

So it can't have been the GOP, if he was signing it under pressure from them, that would mean he's just like every other politician everywhere.

No, that can't be. It's occam's razor. The simplest answer is the truth. He folded. Because if it wasn't him, then it doesn't just mean he folded, it means he folded to the GOP. And they also folded. It's a freaking origami convention around here with all the folding.

It is so hypocritical listening to people who were defending this separation of families and demonizing of immigrants. Unless your ancestors were slaves or indigenous peoples then you come from immigrants. The majority of US citizen's ancestors were also uneducated, illiterate, and unable to speak English too. I could probably say the same about ya'all now since you live in Japan. The loudest mouths are the far-right always have the most to be embarrassed about.

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2018/06/20/un-poverty-report-blasting-trump-us-for-hatred-for-poor-uses-data-from-last-year-obama-s-presidency.html

The above article starts with this:

A recent United Nations report blasting President Trump and America in general for harboring “contempt” and “hatred for the poor”

The report only mentions Trump once:

It is sometimes argued that President Johnson’s war on poverty has failed miserably because, despite the “trillions of taxpayer dollars” spent on welfare programmes over the past five decades, the official poverty rate has remained largely unchanged. The proposed solution then is to downsize the safety net by making it more “efficient”, “targeted” and “evidence-based”, while underlining the need to move “from welfare to work”.

These ideas underpin both Speaker Paul Ryan’s blueprint for welfare reform and the budget proposed by President Donald Trump for the fiscal year 2019, which decries “stubbornly high” enrolment in welfare programmes, and describes millions of Americans as being“in a tragic state of dependency on a welfare system that does not reward work, and in many cases, pays people not to work”.

Once again Fox "News" shows that it will write whatever the hell it wants, reality be damned. And once again Trumpets show they don't even care.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

There was only one Republican's signature on that order, and it was Trump. He's the one who folded.

Signing a signature does it mean that you’re giving in or giving up, but often times when you’re under pressure you have to do things in order to get things back to civility, the GOP on the other hand folded like a deck of cards.

And yet, fully supported it.

Yes, and still do, but if they are reunited with their mothers, we can send the entire family back

One thing I see in both you and Trump, is that you'll say two things that entirely contradict each other, yet still pretend you make sense.

No different than any other human.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

That’s because Trump is a coward. He tried to hurt kids and people were outraged which means his plan didn’t work. So now he will say he was feeling so bad for the kids and just had to stop their suffering (that he intended to happen.)

The best part is seeing his base hung out to dry. Now they are the heartless ones pushing for this thing and Trump rides off into the sunset as the hero who stopped the suffering....that his base will still have to defend.

I said that this was only the beginning and things were going to get worse for these people, and your exact response to me was:

"I hope so."

And Trump fans, it's telling that you're talking about the "rule of law" in one thread and then promoting pardons for Trump's criminal buddies in other threads. I believe you were outraged that Manafort, a grown man who was tampering with witnesses, was taken into custody. Change that to a brown 3-year old who did nothing wrong and suddenly you become defenders of justice.

But go ahead and pardon the rich, white, adult criminals close to Trump and cheer about it.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

what the democrats will be falsely accusing our president of for next week's news cycle. nothing false about it, Trump was allowing families to be separated, it took an executive order and a signed document by Trump to allow them to stay together, but only after an out cry from the majority of congress and Americans, thank god democracy is still working in America.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

bass: One main reason why the Republicans are so quick to dismiss any bipartisan deal from the Democrats is very simple and no need to go into deep debate about it, they don’t want to seal the border, they don’t want to end the chain migration, they don’t want to enter visa lottery program and they don’t want to fund anything that constitutes as a wall, so far publicans that’s just a No Go option.

Do you understand what "bipartisan" means? And do you especially understand what "bipartisan with enough votes to pass" means? That means both Democrats and Republicans came together to make the legislation. You've been talking about the lack of bipartisanship and compromise for days. Well, there are two examples.

It will never pass the Senate, I can tell you that now.

The discharge petition was denied by Ryan. Your information is old and you don't even know it. Now we are stuck voting on two Republican-only bills (now that the bipartisan bills have been eliminated) and you're right, none of them have any chance of passing the Senate.

So no, you aren't looking for the Democrats to compromise, your position is complete and total capitulation, and you demand it from not only Democrats but people in your own party. YOU are the reason why we don't have bipartisan bills so stop blaming others.

And had you read any of the bills, which you had no idea about, you'd find that some of your demands are already in them. You know, compromise. But that's not what you really want so stop saying you want Democrats to compromise when you really mean you want Democrats and moderate Republicans to give you 100% of your demands.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

A man who leads with compassion. LOL a man who had to back down because even many of his supporters think hes gone too far, oh well onto the next scam he can brew up to threaten some minorities so he can blackmail congress to give him his wall. Liberals ought to be high-fiving themselves this morning. They got what they were shrieking for: the Illegal alien nuclear families have been reunited once again thanks to President Trump's EO. As an added bonus, the U.S. law stating a zero policy mandate against illegal invasion remains intact.

Time to move on and try to figure out what the democrats will be falsely accusing our president of for next week's news cycle.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

No they didn’t, Trump did. He’s the one who signed the order. Not the Republicans

No, they folded, they didn’t hold the line, the Pressure from the Dems and the MSM was over the top, totally overblown and exaggerated, the President had no choice to be honest, but even with this Executive orders signed, good luck with it getting it through the Senate, that’s a whole totally different ballgame, but until Chuck sits down with thr GOP, they will still have a zero tolerance policy, but at least you can keep the families together.

Well, the pressure was great, the Republicans Like scared little girls folded and here we are, I know the ploy the Democrats are using and I’m not buying it for a second, I wanted this to end, but I want it done by Congress NOT by the President and the many of the Republicans fell for it, hook, line and sinker.

It does seem to be a bit of an inconsistent stance you are taking here.

Not at all, I’m always consistent.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

It does seem to be a bit of an inconsistent stance you are taking here.

...and Alexandre forfeits the debate, losing on the Godwin's Law principle. Seriously, concentration camps? I can see the analogy, except for the fact that the kids in the US aren't being murdered or worked to death or tortured. Oh, and that the actual victims of concentration camps weren't given medical care or nutritious food or education.

Other than that, there's really no difference. /s

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

President Trump resolved this issue with the stroke of a pen. The liberals got what they asked for: The illegal alien nuclear families seeking asylum are reunited once again as they all sit together in detention for untold weeks awaiting their fate instead of being allowed to run around our country unchecked.

Time for the democrats to move on to their next manufactured "crisis".

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

Wow, this is kind of Gestapo in concentration camps of that 70 years ago. So, what Trump wants to do with the children?

-C'mon, Mr. President be a human being before any authoritarian power you have.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Fine. But the damage has already been done.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Now we have two GOP "compromise" votes coming. I put it into quotes because it's the GOP compromising with their own members with no Democrat input.

Hmmm...and these misguided Democrats say, they care about the kids, what a load of crap that is! They used to lie really well, but they’re getting sloppy now.

The moderate proposal makes a path for DACAs, funds a wall, and a few other things. The far right said they won't support it and won't even allow a vote to happen unless their competing bill is also voted on (hence the second one). Their bill is extreme is that is does everything Trump wants plus removes DACAs....something literally no one wants. But that's why they are fringe.

You left out something very important, it doesn’t include ending chain migration, it doesn’t and the visa lottery program, it doesn’t catch and release, there are so many flawed loopholes in this and Republicans are never going to sign onto it! And for the wall covers about $25 million? That won’t cover 30 feet.

In the unlikely event this even gets out of the House (it won't), it will have to go to the Senate, where they need more than 9 Democrats to vote in favor of it since there's a chance Republicans will sabotage the bill if it wasn't the one they wanted from the House.

God, I sure hope so!

So that's where we stand. Zero chance of these votes passing, and they are both 100% Republican. The compromise bipartisan bills had the support to pass but they were killed off by GOP leadership.

The Democrats said that they care, but they are not willing to sit down and to meet the president halfway, these people, the charlatans for what they really are only want one thing open borders not into migration, no into sanctuary cities, no into the visa lottery program, they want a free for all and they want to destroy the country by giving out entitlement after entitlement and expanding their socialist entitlement agenda. God help us all!

I told you before the election that the GOP getting the White House, the Senate, and the House would change nothing since they are constantly sobataging and back stabbing each other.

Well, when you have a Democratic Congress that absolutely refuses to work with the present anything and oh, by the way what is their solution for the midterms? What are the campaigning on? What are their policies? I’ll tell you, they don’t have anything! The only thing that they have is just impeach Trump OK, then what?

I've said many times they have zero legislative victories because they can't compromise with each other. Looking to the Democrats to change their ways to solve that is misplaced. We've done our part with two bipartisan bills.

The Democrats didn’t do their part, if they did their part, they wouldn’t be screaming every single minute timer whining and moaning all the time and they would sit there and say, our cities are becoming Impoverished, we need to end chain migration, we need to end a sanctuary cities, we need to enter visa lottery program, but they won’t do that, because if they did they would never win another election again and they know it, these illegals are the lifeline for the survival of the Democrat party.

If you really are serious about a sincere desire to see a bipartisan bill, then contact Paul Ryan.

....and Chuck Schumer.

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

I don't think anyone here is "decrying immigrants". Chances are, most of us ARE immigrants, to Japan (I am). However, there is a huge difference between immigrants who are wanted, who go through proper procedures, and those who take it upon themselves to willingly flout the laws of the nation they want to enter. One of the biggest obstacles to having a rational conversation about this issue is the constant conflation of legal and illegal immigration.

Time for Congress to stop dIcking around and pass a bill, the simpler the better.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Off the top of my head, there have been two bipartisan immigration bills. One was from the Group of Eight (4 Dems, 4 Repubs) that had bipartisan support. The bill passed the Senate, but the House refused to call a vote on it to placate the fringe right of the party. Had they had any spine the vote would have been allowed to take place and we would have had a compromise, bipartisan immigration bill. Instead it ended up in the garbage to end a GOP revolt in the House.

One main reason why the Republicans are so quick to dismiss any bipartisan deal from the Democrats is very simple and no need to go into deep debate about it, they don’t want to seal the border, they don’t want to end the chain migration, they don’t want to enter visa lottery program and they don’t want to fund anything that constitutes as a wall, so far publicans that’s just a No Go option.

The other one is the more recent effort by Republicans and Democrats for another compromise bill that had bipartisan support. The moderate Republicans tried to go around Ryan by forcing a discharge vote, because, once again, GOP leadership refused to allow a vote. Ryan got around that by scheduling two immigration votes on two GOP plans, effectively killing, once again, the bipartisan compromise.

Oh, you mean the bill that more or less was a surrender about Republicans that were scared about the midterms so they decided to compromise by pretty much giving everything and then in return get nothing?

The DREAMers are undocumented immigrants brought to the country as children. Many of them were thrown into legal limbo last year when Trump ended the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which granted roughly 700,000 of them temporary legal status. Federal courts have forced the administration to keep the program running, but Republicans such as Denham want a permanent solution for the DACA recipients so they do not have to fear deportation.

Denham is part of a rump faction of moderates who have joined with nearly all Democrats to push a rare maneuver known as a "discharge petition" to try to force a series of immigration votes. The conservative legislation hard-liners are pushing for would be one of the bills brought up, though it is expected to fail.

It will never pass the Senate, I can tell you that now.

So two times we've had immigration reform with compromise and bipartisan support, and two times GOP leadership killed it to placate the far right.

Yes, thankfully it failed, because giving something and not getting anything is not a compromise it’s something that I cannot say on this site.

The Goodlatte Bill:

Trump wants a bill that provides protections for DACA recipients and other so-called Dreamers, young undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children. But the president also wants the measure to fund construction of a wall along the Southern border, end the diversity visa lottery program and limit family-based visas.

The Goodlatte bill meets those criteria, but it has other provisions outside the scope of Trump’s four pillars. That includes controversial proposals to require employers to use the E-Verify program to check employees’ immigration status and to authorize the Department of Justice to withhold grants from sanctuary cities.

The bill would also create an agricultural guest worker program that many lawmakers have said is flawed.

It was impossible for him to do anything, without signing an illegal order. which he just did. To an ungrateful group of people and media who are enjoying the benefits of the order while also still attacking about the issue.

Wait, you mean Trump is so weak that he will cave in to a bunch of ungrateful liberals on this? My god, I had no idea how much of a coward he was, even going so far as to break the law in order to appease his liberal masters? This must make you so mad.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Now watch the same people who decried immigrants and claimed Trump needs to be tough and he's doing the right thing say he's doing the right thing by ending the policy and "bravo, Trump!" etc.

Business as usual for the loony supporters.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Ike, right on.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Because of the "Zero-tolerance" policy, there is high chance illegal border-crossers will be prosecuted as criminals if they try to cross the U.S. border illegally (just as one might considered such if attempting the same at an airport).

Under "Zero-tolerance", essentially, these people are considered criminals. Just as with any criminal, there is forced separation of minors from the criminal for the benefit of the children for their own "welfare". So the questions are:

Are illegal border crossers criminals?

If you are a parent willing to put your children at risk trying to cross a border illegally, then are you not a risk to your child's safety? Should this type of behavior not be deterred - aka, zero-tolerance?

Perhaps the economic situation in one's homeland is dire enough that they are willing to take the risk (hence, the waves of people willing to risk it all to enter parts of Europe or elsewhere by boat).

What should be done with families who try to illegally cross with kids? Should they be sent straight back or should some other type of facility be built - at U.S. taxpayers' expense?

I'll let you debate this one.

Is "Zero-tolerance" wrong? Maybe, maybe not.

Trump's constituents are demanding "Zero-tolerance".

But it also might be necessary policy if these numbers from factcheck.org (a non-profit, non-partisan group) are accurate:

"From fiscal year 2010 to fiscal 2016, there were 2,362,966 adults apprehended illegally crossing the Southern border, and 492,970 were referred for prosecution, those figures show. But that doesn’t tell us anything about how many children may have been separated from their parents under Obama. And we don’t have such statistics to compare the past to the present."

So basically, was Trump as bad as Obama in allowing kids to be separated from families?

Statistically, we don't know. But at least Trump took a step in signing and executive order to stop these separations - one step in what will be a LONG process to try and curb illegal immigration. So congratulations to the Trump-bashers for raising an issue that was almost certainly happening under Obama (unless all 492,970 referred for prosecution in the 2010 to 2016 period under Obama did not bring kids with them).

Do try to get some facts straight before lobbing vitriol at someone whose constituents

The arsonist runs back into the building in which he's started a raging fire, rescues the children and is then shameless enough to congratulate himself as a hero.

Even this analogy is over-generous. After rescuing the children from one burning building he has put them into another burning building that he also set fire too.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Fake News!!!!!

This wasn't "Trump's Policy"!!! Just look at what your globalist super hero Obama was doing!

Here is the best boneheaded comment that sums it all it

"Why in the pursuit of immigration law do you feel it's acceptable to rip apart parents and children?"

Let explain the obvious, ripping apart families happens when parents break the law! Nothing new except for everyone pretending to be outraged and virtuous.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Very interesting picture, what they must be thinking;

  -  Trump:  I've got to find another way to blame this all on the Democrats...

  -  Nielsen:  Why oh why did I take this job working for such a moron...

  -  Pence (smirking):   I'm getting closer and closer to sitting in that chair everyday....

6 ( +8 / -2 )

So, instead of dispatching the kids to parts unknown within the U.S., they get to stay with their parents in detention. ...... This was a brilliant move by President Trump.

You're rejoicing over the thought of infants (and their parents) being held indefinitely in some soulless detention centre on the whim of some judge.

There was a word that just aptly describes this kind of mentality. Now what was it?

Heartless? Insensitive? Uncaring? Mean-spirited? Callous? Cruel? Despicable? Disgraceful? Unpardonable? Contemptible?

Ah, I remember now.

Deplorable.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

Kirsten Neilsen and Donald Trump have shown their true worth by their abuses of power, mishandling of office, inconsideration and crass coldhearted lack of concern about the child abuse they initiated and gross human rights violations. They should be made to resign NOW. They blew it. Period.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

The arsonist runs back into the building in which he's started a raging fire, rescues the children and is then shameless enough to congratulate himself as a hero.

Trump backs down; orders end to family separations at U.S. border -- headline

Backs down? Far from it. Before this EO was signed, U.S. law (Reno v Flores) mandated that unaccompanied minor children of Illegals were to be held for only up to 20 days before being allowed to enter our country (a form of catch and release). Now, to preserve to illegal Nuclear Family, the kids will also be held along with their parents for however long it takes (months, years) until an administrative judge decides whether an asylum request is valid.

So, instead of dispatching the kids to parts unknown within the U.S., they get to stay with their parents in detention. I doubt the low information liberals, the ACLU nor La Raza has figured this out yet.

This was a brilliant move by President Trump. Thanks, democrats. Thanks media.

-15 ( +2 / -17 )

Ike, can you link to the article where you were fed that information to distribute?

2 ( +6 / -4 )

He backed off because hes scared of losing votes. Lets not get carried away and see whether or not the American citizens will vote these Nazis out in November.

So, is it about votes?

This from Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader (Dem):

“There are so many obstacles to legislation and when the president can do it with his own pen, it makes no sense,” Schumer told reporters. “Legislation is not the way to go here when it’s so easy for the president to sign it.”

“Legislation is not the way to go here...” This from the Democratic Party legislative leader.

“... when it’s so easy for the president to sign it.”

If Schumer were only lazy, having gotten use to rule by executive order under President Obama he might be forgiven but he might just prefer presidential fiats. That’s how republics usually end.

Schumer, his Democratic colleagues and sit-on-their-arses Republicans are the “many obstacles to legislation”.

Now, please tell us again that this is about compassion and not partisan politics.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Meanwhile, thousands of traumatised children. Not all of them will get over this.

Nielsen doesn't look so happy in that picture. So much for her bs that "only congress" could fix it.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Obviously one alternative to keeping families out of detention altogether by excercising prosecutorial discretion and not charging people who are commit the federal crime of illegally entering the US. But then again, that seems inconsistent with the rule of law, the wishes of congress, or fair to the thousands of other people who are prosecuted for other federal crimes. It really does seem like congress needs to change the law if they don't want this to happen.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Blacklabel is actually correct when he says the executive order may exceed the President's authority. Vox has an article explaining exactly why this is the case.

It’s not at all clear that Trump can, legally, issue an executive order that would override the Flores settlement. That’s why analysts are assuming that any order Trump issues to keep families together in DHS custody will be challenged by a lawsuit and may get thwarted.

https://www.vox.com/2018/6/20/17484546/executive-order-family-separation-flores-settlement-agreement-immigration

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Black: But Dems are showing they are fine with illegal actions if it benefits them. If this order isn’t illegal why are the liberal media telling me I should expect lawsuits?

Obama created the program to give time to decide on legal status. It was a temporary measure and he said as such. Trump decided to end that window and set a date to end it. Why?

Hostages.

He saw an opportunity to put these people in legal limbo to try to extract concessions. It’s similar to that other program you supported that targeted immigrant children. Remember that? You are all for it. The targeting of children.

And much like we heard cries about following the law (that you made happen with changes to the system) we now get the “we just have to make things legal” talking point here. You want to remove the DACAs, and you see holding them hostage as an opportunity. Man up and say as much.

This is a crisis manufactured by Trump. Once again, by design. The government would have lost legal cases but the time it would take them to go through the system could have bought more time for a permanent solution from Congress. That’s to say that Trump stepped in and made things harder.

By the way, would you like to remove DACAs? Something like 80% of Americans want them to stay. Your 20% minority is a fringe element engaging in hostage taking.

So congrats for that.

"I feel very strongly about it. I think anybody with a heart would feel very strongly about it." A lie followed by the truth. He only did this for the upcoming elections. This awful excuse for a human doesn't care for the right reasons...and he has no heart.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

The USA has millions of homeless families. Maybe US citizens should sneak across to Mexico then come back through. Maybe then someone would care about them too.

Not to worry--help is trickling down. That they've been waiting since the Reagan years shouldn't concern you. It's astonishing that you think either party is concerned about them. I can admit the Democratic Party has done little to improve their lives or reach out to them over the past 20 years. Ridiculing people in poverty, even those who are unwilling to vote for you, is stupid politics. But blaming all their problems on poor brown people as opposed to the rich whites who are right this minute swindling them...

7 ( +7 / -0 )

@blackl So we basically have no immigration laws anymore.

Zero or one again? You've written before that complexity is for liberals (whoever they are): Is saying 'we basically have no immigration laws anymore' an example of non-complexity?

If so, to me that's a fundamentalist's perspective: you're a believer or an infidel. Which doesn't sound very democratic to me, and which gives support to those who claim Trump and his supporters are ushering in the era of autocracy, akin to eras history's had before.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

To the democrats, this issue has never been about "the children"; if it truly was, they and their propaganda wing would have had their collective meltdown back in 2014 when photos surfaced showing kids of illegals actually housed in cages and given aluminum foil to keep themselves warm. Of course, everyone knows why they chose not to vent their outrage over that situation.

No, the democrats end game is about a non-negotiable blanket amnesty for all foreign illegals invading our country (instead of coming into our natopn through established points of entry); to them, "the children" are just throwaways to advance their political agenda.

-14 ( +3 / -17 )

When you endure emotional trauma as a small child, it never leaves you.

Oh my god. The media is using the term ‘ripping apart’ to describe kids being ripped apart by their families. oh my God

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Trump just needs to copy Australia's long-running policy on asylum seekers - sorry ... "Illegal Immigrants"; find a handy off-shore detention site and ship them all there, while at the same time making it illegal for the press to cover the story in any depth, and for any of the people who work in the Concentration Camps - sorry ... "Detention Facilities" ... to talk about what happens there.

All the deaths and despair will happen at a convenient distance from the mainland, and the whole thing can be more easily swept under the carpet.

Australia has proven that you can keep people under those conditions for years and years, even in the face of condemnation from your own people, and in defiance of the UN Human Rights Treaty to which you are a signatory and of the local courts in the place of incarceration when they rule the facilities illegal.

It works even if your own Human Rights Commission (AHRC), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), a Senate Select Committee, and a government-appointed independent expert all raise concerns about the policy.

Most of the time, the problems solve themselves when the prisoners - sorry ... "Detainees" ... kill themselves. "No comment" works just fine if anyone asks embarrassing questions.

It's ridiculously expensive, morally repugnant, and utterly inhumane - but it's worked for Australia.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Remember folks, just because something is the "law" and "legal" does not make it "right" or "moral.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

i am condemning Trump. He signed an illegal order just like obama did. Liberals aren’t complaining about it (yet) only because it means your emotional blackmail worked and you got what you wanted for now. What trump just did is illegal and was a big mistake.

-13 ( +4 / -17 )

When I say people can’t do anything, I only consider legal actions not illegal ones. Guess thats why I’m not a liberal. This requires legislation to override the previous law. Which now exists again today for purposes of lawsuits.

Why is immigration law the only law we are concerned with helping the people who break it?

-11 ( +5 / -16 )

It was impossible for him to do anything, without signing an illegal order. which he just did. To an ungrateful group of people and media who are enjoying the benefits of the order while also still attacking about the issue.

-10 ( +5 / -15 )

I answered that this order was illegal yesterday and still illegal today.

The problem with this logic is that it was not illegal yesterday, nor illegal today. And completely ignores the hypocrisy in how you demonized Obama for even daring to sign an executive order, and now when Trump does an order you don't like, there is zero condemnation whatsoever.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

How can you get all you want without a majority? Obstruction, emotional blackmail of the public and false allegations. All supported by the media which you own.

-15 ( +1 / -16 )

This order is also illegal ave should not have been signed.

But you guys said yesterday it was impossible for him to stop this, that it was the responsibility of the Democrats. Yet he just stopped this. I'm having troubles understanding how you guys could have been so wrong.

But Dems are showing they are fine with illegal actions if it benefits them.

Well, only if you accept your flawed premise that the actions were illegal.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I answered that this order was illegal yesterday and still illegal today. Dems will surely bring that up shortly after they are done with this political issue and then easy to move to the next outrage.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Well, that's better. The photo is pretty funny, Trump looking all serious because 2 adults are in the room.

The grand comedy is the Trump supporters here who just had thier pants pulled down by thier leader.

Instead of just quietly zipping up, they are running around the room 'We never meant what we said! You misunderstood our position!'

Wonderful.

14 ( +14 / -0 )

The Trump order, an unusual reversal by him, also moves parents with children to the front of the line for immigration proceedings.

The cynic in me thinks that all the immigrants need to do now is pick up a couple of pretend kids then crossover into the US and they're in.

But hey, not my country, not my problem. Good luck with that guys.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

My reaction is exactly the same as when Obama signed his illegal DACA order. This order is also illegal ave should not have been signed.

But Dems are showing they are fine with illegal actions if it benefits them. If this order isn’t illegal why are the liberal media telling me I should expect lawsuits? Ungrateful.

Oh and mocking that the word separation was spelled wrong. Not one word of thanks.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

Black: trump IS exceeding his authority with this executive order. but Dems are temporarily looking the other way until they get all thru want. Then comes the attack over the illegal order, see he’s a dictator and all that.

Trump is choosing to exceed his legal authority by signing the EO while still keeping his zero tolerance policy. That’s the conflict.

So he created this mess with his zero tolerance policy, and now he’s creating another mess by signing the EO but keeping his policy in place, something Congress will now have to sort out.

He tried to target children and that didn’t work out, and now step 2 will be blaming Congress for not fixing a mess he entirely created himself by design. Now that he has someone else to blame for his despicable actions he will walk away.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

@blackl  but Dems are temporarily looking the other way until they get all thru want.

Could you explain how the 'dems' can possibly get 'all they? want' when the Republicans have majorities in both the House and Senate and the president is a Republican?

He also lied repeatedly to the American people when he kept claiming only Congress could fix this, when he knew all along that he could fix it.

Wait, I am so confused. I have been told again and again that this was all out of Trump’s control and that only The Democrats in Congress, despite not controlling Congress, could end this. Trump must be exceeding his constitutional powers here or something, right? He absolutely never had any ability to stop this by just signing a piece of paper, right? What is going on?

15 ( +15 / -0 )

Congress needs to do something about it,

Given that both houses have Republican majorities and the president is a Republican, I'd say the ball's in the Republican's hand. Which is very scary to the majority of Americans who've watched the GOP turn the US even farther to the right.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

We probably have to thank the emotional responses of Ivanka and Melania and the multitude of other women's voices in America to the heart-rending pictures, sounds and reports of weeping children for Trump's sudden change of heart. He must have been subjected to intense pressure, OUCH! No crystal ball was needed to foresee that this outrage of cruel child abuse would soon result in Trump's crying uncle. This is not the end, though. Trumpy still likes to wave the big stick and there are plenty of other hornets' nests around to poke into. Robert Mueller, puleeze hurry up!

Well, our good King "Trump the Imperious" gives us again another clear example of his brazen untruthfulness - for weeks ranting that it was the Democrats fault for children being torn away from their parents, he finally decides to "come clean" and show all the world that this was his personal and his administration's policy to violate the human rights and basic human dignity of these poor victims.   Shameful, disgraceful - there are really no words to describe the moral depravity of this man.

Unfortunately, until Robert Mueller finishes his work, tomorrow we will no doubt see another hideous example of Trump's utter lies and contempt for the American people.

That's fair enough. It's too bad that you are such an extremist

I’m no more of an extremist than than the left.

that you thought that pressuring this to happen by using children separated for their parents was an appropriate means of pressure. It was entirely deplorable. The world has spoken, and it has said that those of your opinion are in the wrong.

Not wrong, but actually, it doesn’t mean it’s the end because as the president said there will be zero tolerance for breaking the law, so why he will allow by executive order the family stay together there will be zero tolerance for people that illegally cross the border and since the Democrats don’t want to do anything on this issue or give bipartisan support that puts the ball back in their court, so while Trump did the smart thing again, now the focus will be back and may bite the Democrats as see, even with the families together, they still advocate for open borders, that my friend is the very definition of leftist extremism. The Dems want the President to go back to catch and release and the President knows how sneaky the left is and they will never go back to that.

He backed off because hes scared of losing votes. Lets not get carried away and see whether or not the American citizens will vote these Nazis out in November.

You know exactly how little Trump cares about the people he has brutalized because his administration has made no effort to actually return or even to prepare to return any stolen children to their parents. Reports are coming out of desperate parents who have received no paperwork or even (potentially deliberately) falsified paperwork for getting back in touch with their children. Over 2000 children stolen from their parents, and not a scrap of a paper trail to re-united them- only the vague promises of the Regime that stole them.

Because the Trump Regime never wanted them reunited in the first place.

What Cleo said

16 ( +16 / -0 )

I think anybody with a heart would feel very strongly about it," Trump said.

Trump just told us he thinks all his staunch supporters in favour of ripping babies away from their parents are heartless.

at least he listened and ended this

He didn't listen to you, bass. He listened to people saying the opposite of what you've been saying. He's basically said you were wrong - heartless - to support children being taken away from their parents.

Oh, the perils of being a blind follower!

27 ( +28 / -1 )

"Ivanka feels very strongly. My wife feels very strongly about it. I feel very strongly about it. I think anybody with a heart would feel very strongly about it," Trump said.

And yet, Trump chose to enact the policy. From that we must conclude he did not feel strongly enough about it. And from that, we can only conclude from Trump's own argument that he has no heart. This we already knew. Trump wanted 5 innocent black men killed by the state way back in the 80s. He wanted people from Muslim countries banned from entering the US. He never had a heart.

Make no mistake, this problem isn't solved and Trump didn't really give in. He simply swapped one deceitful, harmful, unnecessary policy for another. "Law and Order" Trump, "I'm just following orders!" Trump, is now explicitly breaking the law in order to evade the backlash he's suffering over his proto-Nazism.

Watch the Trump apologists who cast this as a compromise. They show the same lack of moral core as Americans who imprisoned innocent Japanese-Americans in WWII, insisting it couldn't be evil because "at least we aren't murdering them! Nazis are worse, so we're okay!" They would do the same to you if given the chance.

Bass: as a parent I don’t like seeing kids separated from their parents, but

But you'll support it If there's a political gain to be had. Trump weaponized innocent children and you supported it.

Trump, an avid viewer of cable television news,

Hats off to all in the media who covered this, regardless of viewpoint.

Those who want to restrict in any way a free, for-profit media still have the right to express their beliefs and still have outlets to represent their perspectives. As it should be.

Read this earlier:

This was “the strongest indication yet of Trump’s racism ... not just b/c you have to be a racist to do it. But b/c the racism blinded him to how outraged other people would be. Why would people be outraged by what happens to a bunch of brown kids?”

Yes, I believe in the rule of law, but it doesn’t mean I’m not compassionate.

I agree with your logic. However, I have not seen you express any compassion whatsoever. You've stated that you "don't like to see kids separate from their parents", and I suspect you think this expresses compassion - but it doesn't. When that phrase is uttered while simultaneously supporting a policy where kids are separated from their parents, it makes the phrase entirely empty. It's like when people say "I don't want to be racist, but...", then go on to say something entirely racist.

I really want Congress to sit down and come up with a solution

That's fair enough. It's too bad that you are such an extremist that you thought that pressuring this to happen by using children separated for their parents was an appropriate means of pressure. A good thing. For the moment, Trump has egg on his face. Which is always a good thing,. But

I think Josh Marshall gets this right:

The President says he’s signing an executive order to end family separations. The actual aim seems to be to pick a fight with the courts and allow separations to continue while blaming judges. According to The New York Times, the President will sign an executive order allowing children to be detained indefinitely with their parents. The problem is that that violates a 1997 consent decree saying that you can’t detain/imprison children for more than 20 days (technically what’s currently happening isn’t detention). It straight up violates that order. So what will almost inevitably happen is that a court will step in, say you can’t do that and then Trump will announce that the judge is forcing him to keep separating families.

IOW, this is just getting started. And it's all about rousing the Trog White Racist Base. Trump has been trying to blame his policy on someone else ever since it started, but the non-Fox media has been pretty good about repeatedly calling this out as a lie.

Just remember: if he really wants to end the separations, he can always go back to the policy he followed for the first 443 days of his administration. It’s entirely up to him.

And yet, you advocated it, supported it's implementation,

Yes, I believe in the rule of law, but it doesn’t mean I’m not compassionate.

and even after it's been stopped, are still saying it was the right thing to do.

Yes.

I guess you're just taking one for the team. Good on you.

Not for the team, but for law, I do, but let’s focus for a moment, I really want Congress to sit down and come up with a solution this should’ve been done long ago by Congress and that’s one of the reasons why just aggravates me so much, these people don’t do anything. They need to come together on this, especially the Democrats.

In my opinion I highly doubt that the line has been met yet.

Well, it was this time. Other issues will have other lines I guess.

As I’ve said before, as a parent I don’t like seeing kids separated from their parents

I truly feel sorry for the immigrants trying to get into the US, knowing the situation at the border, and still trying to get in, their homes or where they came from must be truly hell to have to face the crap they are at the borders.

As I’ve said before, as a parent I don’t like seeing kids separated from their parents, but as the President said, we need to uphold the law, but at least he listened and ended this, this is a problem, the border is a serious problem, but it didn’t start now, for over 30 years this problem has worsened because the laws on immigration were lax and the border was for the most part ignored to a large extent. There is enough blame to go around on both sides. Both sides have to come together on this, they just have to, they need to come up with a comprehensive immigration bill, both sides will have to compromise on some things, neither side may get everything, but they might be able to get to some point, otherwise the situation will never get better.

The nice thing to see about this, is that there actually is a line where the people of America decide decency has been abandoned,

In my opinion I highly doubt that the line has been met yet.

This too will soon be forgotten as the press cycles turns to something else, and people tire of the story. Then we'll see if Trump goes back and looks for another way to keep doing it.

Trump is a vindictive s.o.b. who does not like loosing or going back on something "he" decided.

17 ( +18 / -1 )

The nice thing to see about this, is that there actually is a line where the people of America decide decency has been abandoned, and it's good to see that even Trump will return back to that line when pushed. It should have been obvious not to cross it in the first place, but the far-right frenzy pushed them past, and it required the outrage of a planet to bring them back.
