Trump ordered officials not to comply with legal requests

He now believes he is above the law.  And this is going to get worse.  The US has now got a (tin pot) dictator at the helm.

16 ( +20 / -4 )

Sad time in America!

13 ( +16 / -3 )

Under the Constitution, Congress is a co-equal branch of government alongside the executive branch and the judiciary.

But Trump still thinks he's managing the corrupt property development company he inherited from his corrupt father, that he's the CEO and all must do his bidding.

Or else he's patterning his regime on those run by the various despots around the globe he admires. Why else would he say 'Nobody disobeys me'.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

Everybody is putting party before country.

Everybody? Bifurcate much? No gray, just black or white. No nuance. You're for the state or you're an enemy. More us v. them, more divide and rule, typical of those pushing totalitarianism.

Another Soviet era propaganda technique to stifle discussion and used by ultra-rightists today to appeal to a base made up of angry and intellectually vulnerable people.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

"If the partisan Dems ever tried to Impeach, I would first head to the U.S. Supreme Court," the Republican president, who is seeking re-election next year, said on Twitter without offering details about what legal action he envisioned.

I do not understand why people even care all that much about what he says anymore anyways! He is a blow-hard child in a grandfather's aging mind!

Let him talk, he will eventually ties his own noose!

Trump...

Hide my grades.

Hide my financial records.

Hide my collusion.

Hide my taxes.

Hide my affairs.

Always hiding the truth and his crimes.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

More us v. them, more divide and rule, typical of those pushing totalitarianism.

True, like the Departments of Justice and Education's respective civil rights divisions transgender bathroom / locker room decree under Obama.

-18 ( +2 / -20 )

Keep fighting Mr. President. We are behind you. This is only about keeping the political narrative alive. un-redacted report, release of his taxes won’t change anything. If you hate the President or whether you like him won’t change any minds.

True, like the Departments of Justice and Education's respective civil rights divisions transgender bathroom / locker room decree under Obama.

Bingo!

-18 ( +6 / -24 )

Where are the cool heads? Moderates?

BB, that would be Pelosi and her group, which has a Constitutional oversight responsibility. Dems have left the impeachment option on the table, but I doubt it will come to that. Meanwhile, Trump, with his reckless remarks and illegal actions, is playing straight into the Dem's hands. But then, he's never been known for his intelligence - just survival instinct.

Look for aides to defy his orders not to testify. They have their futures to consider as well.

12 ( +15 / -3 )

Just shows the mediocrity of the Democrats that they believe their only chance in 20/20 is to keep the debunked Russia collusion scam going, Trump cleared of collusion, Tax records checked by the Mueller team and nothing untoward showed up, Liz Warren still talking about impeachment, just another day in la la land for the Dems.

-15 ( +4 / -19 )

@klaus

I really hope Trump doesn’t release his tax returns, there is nothing illegal in his tax records so none of our business, if Trump’s tax records are made public and they may show tax minimisation at best what will the Left nitpick next, Trump’s laughing at ya all, yes annoying isn’t it? Ha

-15 ( +4 / -19 )

@OZ N  debunked Russia collusion scam going,

If posters only read headlines in one of Rupert Murdoch's outlets, they might think the Russian collusion has been debunked. Those who've actually read the documents know otherwise.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Impeach him. This man is clearly corrupt and unfit for office.

Even though it will never pass the Senate, legislators will be forced to vote and tie their political futures to where they stand on justice and constitutional government. Plus, impeachment proceedings will make no difference in the 2020 election. Trump's diehard cult members will support him no matter what. Swing voters will peel away.

He will go down in history as the first president to be impeached and then lose reelection.

6 ( +12 / -6 )

@OZN there is nothing illegal in his tax records

Now it's clear you're just flaming. If you're NOT flaming, back up what you're saying with a source. RT, Murdoch, Alex Jones, perhaps someone in Australia pushing conspiracy theories?

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Just shows the mediocrity of the Democrats that they believe their only chance in 20/20 is to keep the debunked Russia collusion scam going, Trump cleared of collusion, Tax records checked by the Mueller team and nothing untoward showed up, Liz Warren still talking about impeachment, just another day in la la land for the Dems.

It’s so pathetic watching the Democrats and their train wreck unfold right before our very eyes. They never get it. As smart as they all claim to be, their actions seem pretty dumb on this.

-12 ( +4 / -16 )

@bas4 They never get it.

When GoTrumpers can only defend Trump by trolling those who oppose him, it's yet another sign even they can't find anything positive to say about him.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

Impeach him. This man is clearly corrupt and unfit for office.

Plus, impeachment proceedings will make no difference in the 2020 election. Trump's diehard cult members will support him no matter what. Swing voters will peel away.

So in other words, the Democrats should look more foolish and waste more of everyone’s time and money....Yup, seems well thought out to me. Lol

He will go down in history as the first president to be impeached and then lose reelection.

Yeah, the Republicans thought that as well awhile back.

When GoTrumpers can only defend Trump by trolling those who oppose him,

No different than the Trump haters trolling those that support him.

it's yet another sign even they can't find anything positive to say about him.

We do, but you guys never pay attention. Put the hate on the side for a bit then you’d all know.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

look more foolish and waste more of everyone’s time and money....Yup, seems well thought out to me. Lol

If you think holding the president accountable to justice is a foolish waste of time and money, yeah, Lol.

the Republicans thought that as well awhile back.

The difference is that Clinton was a broadly popular president. Trump is nothing close to that. Also, Clinton's "high crimes and misdemeanors" were nothing compared to those of Trump.

No different than the Trump haters trolling those that support him.

Yes, there is a difference. Trump "haters" are driven by clear evidence showing the president to be utterly corrupt and unfit for office. People who defend Trump simply obfuscate, change the subject, or shrug off their man's wrongdoings as normal.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

plasticmonkeyToday  08:37 am JST

People who defend Trump simply obfuscate, change the subject, or shrug off their man's wrongdoings as normal.

Or engage in jaw-dropping sycophancy, e.g. "love this President... best President in US history... want to have his babies... etc etc" that would be laughed out of the room in an actual conversation. Even if there were any politicians I really liked I couldn't brown-nose like that. Trump clearly knew his marks very well when he said he could shoot someone in the street and still not lose any popularity.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Indeed many Trump supporters seems to have some serious medical condition where they can't speak more than two sentences without mentioning a Clinton or Obama, very rarely able to hold a conversation on the actual merit of an enquiry or suggestion.

For someone who says they do no wrong, and says they are a person of the people, seems there is a lot Trump isn't happy about the world seeing.

Wonder for everyone who says he shouldn't have to show anything were equally supportive of Obama when claims were made for him to produce evidence of his citizenship... guessing not.

Either side of the political spectrum, open tax records and a move away from PACs, Superpacs, anonymous donations and some genuine inquiry into the use of clandestine foreign advertising and influence groups is looking more and more important for the United States to stay a true democracy.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

@Klaus

I don’t claim to have connections it’s just obvious, Mueller’s team obtained his tax records early on that I do know, they were also pored over by various agencies and obviously nothing untoward turned up or Trump wouldn’t be making a state visit in June at the Queen’s invitation, just common sense I suppose.

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

I really hope Trump doesn’t release his tax returns, there is nothing illegal in his tax records so none of our business, if Trump’s tax records are made public and they may show tax minimisation at best

If Trump does release his tax forms, there's every likelihood he did cheat on his taxes. He's had two civil trials for income tax fraud, one by the state of New York and the other by the city of New York, and he lost both cases. In one of those trials, his own tax lawyer, Jack Mitnick, testified against him, as Donald Trump photocopied his lawyer's signature on a fraudulent tax return. It is the business of everyone to see the president's tax return, and Trump has a history of cheating and lying on them.

The other reasons he refuses to release his tax forms he overstates his wealth, and hates the idea of being shown he's way behind other top businessmen, not being a billionaire, and lying about his supposed vast wealth to his constituency. The returns also may also and likely establish how much money he is getting from Russians, Saudis, people from the Emigrates and elsewhere. They could very well show he has been engaged in money laundering for these people through real estate transactions that make no business sense, except for Trump's own personal gain.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

@ptowns

We’ve not trolling anyone, if there was any clear evidence of wrongdoing don’t you think Nancy and co. would have filed for impeachment right away, even Nancy has the smarts to realise it would merely be a publicity stunt doomed to fail.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

If you think holding the president accountable to justice is a foolish waste of time and money, yeah, Lol.

Mueller did, for 2 years, the verdict was spoken, No collusion, move on.

The difference is that Clinton was a broadly popular president.

Yes, like with Kennedy, they turned an eye to everything else he did wrong.

Trump is nothing close to that. Also, Clinton's "high crimes and misdemeanors" were nothing compared to those of Trump.

I never voted for Trump based on his popularity, liberals care about star status, we don’t. I voted for a disrupter and the more liberals lose their mind, the more calm and relax I feel that I made the right choice.

Yes, there is a difference. Trump "haters" are driven by clear evidence showing the president to be utterly corrupt and unfit for office. People who defend Trump simply obfuscate, change the subject, or shrug off their man's wrongdoings as normal.

Well, we think the Democrats are far, far worse. But anyway, if the Dems were smart, they would try to beat Trump at the ballot box, but nope, they have to make an excuse for a witch hunt, weaponize our intelligence agency, lie and make up stories to try and dislodge a duly elected President. Democrats can never win on the merits, if they can’t use the courts which is now the case, then they want to change the system, pack the courts with more judges, allow felons and terrorists to vote, allow minors to vote, illegals to vote, get rid of the EC whatever it takes, anything goes and it keeps blowing up in their faces. The Democrats keep squandering opportunity after opportunity to come up with real solutions to fix real problems the country is facing and the only thing the Dems care about is “Russia, collusion and obstruction” they will lose so badly in 2020

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Im curious if Trump will respond with "Low IQ."

2 ( +5 / -3 )

@Plastic

Trump was held accountable by a 2 yr investigation launched on dubious grounds, for all intensive purposes he’s innocent and free to run his country, just accept it, there was no evidence of collusion as Mueller found.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

The Republican president ordered officials not to obey legal requests from the Democratic-led House of Representatives, which is carrying out multiple investigations of his administration, including his tax returns, White House security clearances and the probe of Russian interference in U.S. politics.

The key word there is "requests."

The word "obey" does not go with the word "requests." No one is ever obligated to obey a request.

This is biased word-twisting by the media, in an effort to portray Trump has having done something illegal. It's dishonest. And it reveals the media's true agenda.

Trump did nothing illegal in telling administration staffers not to comply with requests. That is because a request is not a legal order.

If a request is made, one has the option of either agreeing to do what is requested, or declining to do it.

And when the boss tells you to decline it, he/she has done nothing illegal.

This is not even close to being a case of obstruction of justice -- because Congress are not the police nor are they a court.

These efforts by Democrats to bring down Trump are now reaching the pathetic stage.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

@sun

Wow a lot of maybes and likely this and that, let’s deal in what has been established, Trump’s net worth is around 3.8 billion, taking the Presidency has cost him an estimated 700 thousand from his businesses and he draws no salary, more importantly, since the release of the report there are no grounds to impeach and the Democrats know it.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

We bring up and Obama or Clinton so that we have something on the other side to compare it to.

I simply want to understand if the expectation is reasonable or not and how it was when the other side was the recipient.

Ok so as of this article ignoring a subpoena is a bad thing. When a subpoena was given for a Clinton person what happened? Did they comply? Let me check.....

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/sep/13/pagliano-defies-subpoena-avoid-testifying-clinton-/

Hmm didnt testify, not once but twice. Ignored the subpoena. Dem outrage? zero. Anything happen to him? Nope. So why outrage now about Republicans ignoring subpoenas?

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

plasticmonkey: Impeach him. This man is clearly corrupt and unfit for office.

I think they should have public hearings first. Hearing about the contents of a report second-hand is one thing, hearing the White House lawyer say in front of cameras that the President gave him an order that he refused to carry out due to legal or ethical concerns has an entirely different impact.

JenniSchiebel: The key word there is "requests." The word "obey" does not go with the word "requests." No one is ever obligated to obey a request.

Well, not to be too technical, but no. For example, with his taxes, the law reads, "Upon written request from the chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives (and others), the Secretary shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request".

Shall is a command. So, yes, if they request, the law clearly interpretes the request as something that you must obey.

Laguna:  Meanwhile, Trump, with his reckless remarks and illegal actions, is playing straight into the Dem's hands.

I think the dynamics will change a lot when the Democratic candidates start to take center stage. They'll have a big microphone, and how they respond to Trump will be important. Hopefully they will focus on his uselessness and not whatever crazy headline he made that day.

Ocasio-Cortez, while not a candidate, is on the front page of FoxNews.com every day, sometimes with more than one story a day. She's kicking their asses. I think we will hear her voice a lot during the election process.

You probably heard about what she did to the Rep from Kentucky?

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Then you check to see if it happened more than once, just to verify it isnt an anomaly.

https://www.usnews.com/debate-club/was-the-house-right-to-hold-eric-holder-in-contempt/eric-holder-is-defying-the-law-by-resisting-subpoena

Yep, it did.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

I can only hope we hear from AOC every single day. The gift that keeps on giving. Ask her how she feels about terrorists and murderers being allowed to vote from prison. Dems stumbled all over themselves on that one!

I think we will hear her voice a lot during the election process.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

for all intensive purposes he’s innocent

So say Barr and other Trump sycophants. Mueller's report says no such thing.

no evidence of collusion as Mueller found.

So say Barr and other Trump sycophants. Tell me the page number of Mueller's report where "no collusion" is mentioned.

no grounds to impeach

Mueller's report details at least 10 incidents in which Trump attempted to interfere with an ongoing investigation. Despite what Barr says, the law is very clear that obstruction of justice can (and often does) occur absent any underlying criminal offense. That is grounds in and of itself for impeachment.

And BTW, "high crimes and misdemeanors" refers to abuse of the office of the presidency. We see this virtually every day.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

@blacklabel

Yeah right up there with her New green deal, she’s turning out to be a major asset in the Republican armoury. Every time she’s interviewed and goes on a tangent she pushes Trump closer to a win. Tucker loves her but.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

I simply want to understand if the expectation is reasonable or not and how it was when the other side was the recipient.

I sometimes think that, too. I mean I imagine watching Don Lemon and his lead guest is Beto saying Trump's birth certificate is fake, he's not a real citizen, and he needs to be removed from office immediately. If I concentrate, I can almost get there. But not quite.

Anyway, on Trump's side you have an investigation into possible collusion due to his proven lies, the proven lies of those around him, and his direct, bizarre actions.

Yeah that's about equal.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

No surprises from the Democrats here. They're desperate to find anything they can to impeach him on!

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Trump's removal from office is most unlikely barring a change of heart by his fellow Republicans, who hold a majority in the U.S. Senate.

This is the most important, concrete fact.

Everything else is bread, circus, and moral grandstanding.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

@ plasticm

Mueller has recommended no new charges or indictments, so obviously no evidence of collusion found, pretty clear, I’ll admit Trump should have held his temper by wanting to fire Mueller but so frustrating when you’re trying to implement policy and a dubious probe is being held over your head so understandable. Would you agree that just as they investigated the Trump campaign they should now investigate the US intelligence agencies and Clinton for FISA and the Steele dossier?

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Wow a lot of maybes and likely this and that, let’s deal in what has been established, Trump’s net worth is around 3.8 billion,

If you check out the facts, there's never been verifiable evidence that Trump is a billionaire. It was revealed back in 1990, when he said he was worth 3 billion, that he wasn't. He was actually worth a negative 295 million. That's -295 million dollars., not +3 billion, as he claimed.

During the campaign, he said he was worth 10 billion, again, with no verifying evidence, but apparently, what wealth he does have, has been reduced by 90% since his disclosure statement under oath, when becoming president. As we know, all he has to do is release his tax returns to verify he is worth 10 billion dollars as he boasted, but likely does not have near that much.

His debts always come back to haunt him, as his big casino deal in NJ caused him to become bankrupt, as Ivana confirmed at the time, and he only got Trump Hotels back in business by catering to oligarchs and such, the laundering of their money, in guise of buying an apt. in his hotel at way over value to give Trump money and allow illegal rubies to become dollars. He's a con man, a liar, and not a great legal excellent businessman as he states, but a law breaking individual who will do anything to help his own cause. If he is a billionaire, it's likely due to illegal sales, and again, something he does not want to show in his tax returns.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Trump cleared of collusion,

but not obstruction.

Tax records checked by the Mueller team and nothing untoward showed up.

BS if that was the case then Trump would have no problem with releasing them, nothing there to find , nothing to worry about. release them, clear his name then the Dems wont have anything on him. why are the Republicans so against transparency!?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

bass

Unfortunately for you the 'We' in your 'We are behind you' sentence is a rapidly shrinking number of people. Anyone who has read the relevant parts of the Mueller report can see that Trump tried to obstruct justice and trying is as good as doing from a legal standpoint. Trump will try to put off the inevitable as long as he can but, thankfully, his days are numbered.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

The Democratic chairman of the U.S. House Oversight Committee on Wednesday accused President Donald Trump of a "massive, unprecedented, and growing pattern of obstruction" after he ordered federal employees not to comply with congressional investigations.

After the Democrats couldn't bring down Trump with their unverified Steele dossier, anti-Trump FBI agents, Comey's leaked documents, rabid anti-Trump news media outlets, plus the Mueller witch hunt, Democrats will now be forced to take every new fishing expedition request to court. Which means they will all end up before the SCOTUS.

However, it won't be as easy to fool the next judge(s) as it was to fool the FISA court. The courts, and the voters, will be watching these new proceedings very closely.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

I think the dynamics will change a lot when the Democratic candidates start to take center stage. They'll have a big microphone, and how they respond to Trump will be important.

Can’t wait to see Trump fire back. Lol

Hopefully they will focus on his uselessness

Seriously? You guys wallowed in glee for Mueller and his bogus witch hunt which everyone knew was bogus and inflated, talk about uselessness....

Ocasio-Cortez, while not a candidate, is on the front page of FoxNews.com every day, sometimes with more than one story a day. She's kicking their asses.

No, she’s not kicking their asses, not only is she helping driving their ratings, but FNC ets to show every night what an ignorant unhinged out of touch politician she is. Even in her hometown she’s getting now some competition to bring this nonsense to a complete halt. The incoming freshman politician that screwed 100,000 jobs from NYC. Bravo!

I think we will hear her voice a lot during the election process.

Oh, I pray for that!!!!!

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

So say Barr and other Trump sycophants. Mueller's report says no such thing.

Plastic, the Russian collusion delusion witch hoax is over. Chill.

So say Barr and other Trump sycophants. Tell me the page number of Mueller's report where "no collusion" is mentioned.

No matter how much you want to see or contort, shuffle, Trump is not going to jail. I’m trying to help you, accept it, take it all in. The Democrats are helping Trump by keeping this faux narrative alive.

Mueller's report details at least 10 incidents in which Trump attempted to interfere with an ongoing investigation.

But it wasn’t enough to indict him, over.

Despite what Barr says, the law is very clear that obstruction of justice can (and often does) occur absent any underlying criminal offense. That is grounds in and of itself for impeachment.

Uh-huh....now liberals know more than Barr? Good luck with that one.

And BTW, "high crimes and misdemeanors" refers to abuse of the office of the presidency. We see this virtually every day.

If you go by that then pretty much all the Dems should be sitting in Pelican Bay.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Unfortunately for you the 'We' in your 'We are behind you' sentence is a rapidly shrinking number of people. Anyone who has read the relevant parts of the Mueller report can see that Trump tried to obstruct justice and trying is as good as doing from a legal standpoint. Trump will try to put off the inevitable as long as he can but, thankfully, his days are numbered

Yeah, 4 more to go, so keep counting..btw.....I totally agree with you, he “tried” which in a legal sense doesn’t hold water, you can’t arrest someone for “trying” nice try. Mueller couldn’t do it and the Trump haters on JT especially won’t be able to do it. Lol

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

@sun

When his assets are totaled up its 3.8, according to informed sources, he’s very wealthy, he doesn’t even need to draw a salary and I believe he donates it to a veterans home/charity which is a pretty nice gesture, but Trump is known by his inner circle as a very generous person.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

wtfjapan - BS if that was the case then Trump would have no problem with releasing them, nothing there to find , nothing to worry about. release them, clear his name then the Dems wont have anything on him. why are the Republicans so against transparency!?

LOL. And when the Democrats do not find the hoped-for evidence for impeachment in this fishing expedition they will start another one, and another one, and another one. If elected Democrats want any more records they are going to have to go thru the courts to get them.

"IF" they can convince a judge to actually order the records to be released.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

When his assets are totaled up its 3.8, according to informed sources, he’s very wealthy, he doesn’t even need to draw a salary

Obviously, he has wealth, but his own value is questionably not over a billion, and could be negative, to this day. We don't know because he hides his tax returns. Also, his assets are not him. Assets can be accrued from debt and illegal money. What we want from his tax returns is to see what his true value is, why it is that way, and whether he has cheated on his taxes, and who he is doing business with.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

sunfunbun - What we want from his tax returns is to see what his true value is, why it is that way, and whether he has cheated on his taxes, and who he is doing business with.

Nothing on your shopping list sounds like a valid reason for a judge, or SCOTUS majority, to order the release of anyone's tax returns. You'll need something more specific, and convincing.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Mueller has recommended no new charges or indictments, so obviously no evidence of collusion found, pretty clear

it wasn’t enough to indict him, over.

Both of you are wrong on your conclusion. Mueller's report makes it amply clear that although no new indictments are recommended, it is because Mueller does not want to wade into indicting a sitting president, which goes against Justice Department custom, as it is a politically divisive action to take. Mueller also makes it clear that it is up to Congress to make the next move, whether through further investigations or impeachment based on existing evidence.

you can’t arrest someone for “trying”

Then you obviously don't know much about the law.

now liberals know more than Barr? Good luck with that one.

First, I would say that there are plenty of liberals who know as much as or more than Barr does. But that is not the issue. It's a matter of ethical jurisprudence. Barr's "summary" of the report is designed to protect Trump, not to uphold the laws of the United States.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Why did Trump lie about his intention to release his tax returns?

He or his handlers must have regarded it as something which would attract voters. His devout followers clearly couldn’t care less about honesty or transparency, but surely he owes it to the less partisan and more discerning people who voted for him.

Promise made, promise kept and all that.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

@sun

The net worth of Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, is approximately $3.1 billion according to Forbes as of 5 March 2019. Is this recent enough for you?

His leaked 2005 tax returns showed he paid I believe but could be wrong 40 million in tax.

He may well have business debts, the vast majority of businesses around the world operate on a line of credit, considering the size Trump’s business empire the debt figure would have to high as well, that’s how business works.

They were handling around 500 businesses and 6 were liquidated, Trump has never been personally bankrupt, this is a lie pushed by people to discredit him.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

He isn't stupid enough to put his own money on the line except he did make personal payments of $25 million to the victims of his failed university.

Scam university.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Nothing on your shopping list sounds like a valid reason for a judge, or SCOTUS majority, to order the release of anyone's tax returns. You'll need something more specific, and convincing.

There's nothing that needs convincing. There's no reason to hide his tax returns, as president, and why Trump and his supporters refuse the obvious, is baffling and somewhat treason laden.

Heck, you'd get justification he's telling the truth. He is a legit multi billionaire, making money completely legally, and obeying the tax system. Why wouldn't you want that? From such a highly held individual, I'd think you want him to be proven right, instead of just assuming so.

My take, obviously, is he is a cheat and you approve of him, no matter how criminal he is. That's turning the blindest of eyes to this con man, who does have many people either conned or people just agree with his illegal ways such as laundering illegal Russian money to allow oligarchs power, and meddle in our elections.

To not show a presidential tax return is a pretty treasonous way of thinking, and not very patriotic to America; to not want to see the completely legal, and up to Trump, presidential showing of their tax returns. If you're an American so called patriot, you want the tax return shown, as a course of your country's presidential protocol. It has nothing to do with republican, Trump or democratic leanings.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

It’s amazing how much the pubbies are trying to pretend Trump isn’t clearly guilty and not qualified for president after the Meullet report. Never has any report ever so clearly painted a president as corrupt, unethical, and illegal, as the report did, and yet the morons are still trying to claim he’s a good president. Have their ever been a more deluded people in the history of humanity?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

@zchi

So yes he has never been bankrupt, why would a businessman put his own money on the line, would you know any? Obviously if you’re managing companies you’re investing other people’s money as their buying your products and services. Are you blaming Trump for perfectly legal business practices, get him at any cost eh.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Both of you are wrong on your conclusion. Mueller's report makes it amply clear that although no new indictments are recommended, it is because Mueller does not want to wade into indicting a sitting president,

Ok, so this was a dog and political farce.

which goes against Justice Department custom, as it is a politically divisive action to take. Mueller also makes it clear that it is up to Congress to make the next move, whether through further investigations or impeachment based on existing evidence.

I hope congress proceeds, better them getting their hands dirty while burying themselves. The Republicans can make their headstones for this.

Then you obviously don't know much about the law.

You don’t either otherwise, Trump would have been indicted if that were the case, even Professor Turly and Napolitano disagree with you, that’s two of the best libertarian law professionals.

First, I would say that there are plenty of liberals who know as much as or more than Barr does.

But they are not the AG, so that part of the conversation is done.

Barr's "summary" of the report is designed to protect Trump, not to uphold the laws of the United States.

You can’t prove that and if you think so, then I can also say, Rice protected Hillary, Holder protected Obama, which they can do, there is nothing in the constitution that says they can’t.

The Democratic chairman of the U.S. House Oversight Committee on Wednesday accused President Donald Trump of a "massive, unprecedented, and growing pattern of obstruction"

Had to laugh at this the whole Democrat policy since Trump got elected has been obstruct, obstruct, obstruct.

Which the Republicans have shown twice to be a winning approach.

if liberals hadn’t overpromised in the beginning maybe someone wouid care about these minor political based attacks.

Remember when you told me he was a treasonous traitor who only got elected because Russia changed votes? When the entire dossier was obviously fact? When Trump would be led out of the White House in handcuffs and his entire family would be jailed too?

You guys kinda over did it compared to what the results actually were. But I’m sure you won’t learn from it, just keep making more “bombshells” that aren’t.

michael Cohen was meeting Russians! Well, he was in Prague even he didn’t meet Russians! Well he wasn’t in Prague but his phone was! mueller is coming!

Oh mueller report said he wasn’t in Prague? Oh we never said he was in Prague just there was an obviously false story that he was, we knew that.

its the liberal story on everything. You knew Trump didn’t collude, (that’s not even a crime, you say now), knew the dossier was fake, knew Trump didn’t tell Cohen to lie.

Then why all the fakery from the beginning it you knew all this the whole time?

@zchi

Sure people do all kinds of things, some even put the business in their wives name for certain reasons and I’m sure Trump would skirt the regulations at times but the trick is to just stay inside of them so no problem there.

I think your talking about a Phoenix operation where a business declares bankruptcy and then restarts under a different name. Australia recently bought in laws to stop it.

Well I started out as a sole trader but the tax breaks convinced me to register as a company, we get a rebate up to $20,000 on any new acquired equipment, and I when I subcontract work I claim tax for them as a contractor.

@blacklabel

yeah, to be fair to Cohen, he was looking at a long sentence and had to come up with something, anything to get the plea deal, if you notice he was at his testimony mixing in facts we already knew about Trump and then adding some damaging false testimony to make it all seem true, seriously who would believe any of it.

House panel chair accuses Trump of 'massive, unprecedented' obstruction

Guess Mueller don't know what he be talking about then, lol.

The Democrats are officially looney tunes. Off the deep end.

I am soooooo looking foward to seeing justice served. It is coming.

Leaders and politicians like these are the main reason why the youth of today is losing belief in a government.....

Only an idiot or a crazed partisan would trust the words of Trump or Cohen without watertight evidence. They were together for so long for a reason - they are both dodgy, amoral liars.

Rump can’t even tell the truth about where his own dad was born.

The Democrats are going to get destroyed in the courts and politically as they have no grounds for all these frivolous investigations.

HRC can't even tell the truth about her 33,000 missing emails.

A very dodgy woman. Trump supporters tell us the US dodged a bullet when Trump won.

Looks like the only way they can justify his barrrage of lies is to compare him to a woman they regard as unfit to lead.

Not really convincing, is it?

Trump is baiting congress to impeach him!

I hope the Democrats do it, I want them to make their own nooses.

Yes.

Lies? Hardly.

Watching what passes for Dems these days is entertaining. A pack of loonies with the few sane ones left feeling compelled to go along with the madness. Break out the popcorn!

Full speed ahead on destroying America; what else do we expect from Trump?

Lessee...

Best economy in decades if not in history... record low unemployment rate for women, blacks and Hispanics... better trade deals negotiated... working on immigration reform and border security...

Gosh, Trump has a really bad record on destroying America!

You're confusing Trump with the Democrats.

The Mueller report found nothing?

It proved the following;

That Russia engaged in a massive strategic influence campaign to help elect Trump - just as all our intel agencies have assessed. Yet Trump defends Putin rather than stand up for his country.

Seven of Trump's closest associates were indicted for felonies - criminals - all of them. And more to come - Stone is up next. Just think if these indictments weren't released until the report was published - and we found out 7 of Trump's closest cronies were going to jail just last week - amazing.

Trump lies - big news huh! He lied when he said he knew nothing of the Trump Tower meeting with Russians and when he dictated the memo saying it was about adoptions.

Sarah HS lies - big news huh! FBI agents were not rejoicing when Comey was fired...

Worst of all - this president tried to obstruct justice on at least 10 separate occasions - but his staff didn't want to be accessories to obstruction so they refused - The Resistance! That's the same as saying Trump wanted to shoot someone on 5th Ave as he has so proudly boasted, but no one would give him a gun. innocent? Hardly.

Americans see through these pathetic attempts to cover up all this crime and corruption - they know who the "Crime Don" is...
