t was the second time since Monday's summit that Trump and the White House have blamed a misstatement or misunderstanding for the furor over Russia.

One of the most important qualities a president, or any leader for that matter, must have is the ability to communicate effectively. Trump has the worst communications skills of any US president, maybe ever.

The reality that nothing he says can be believed makes him a very dangerous leader. And then of course there's the growing list of allegations of illegal and unethical actions, plus of course his ties to fellow despots around the globe.

How many?

@stocktrader

Winners are focused on winning, Losers are focused on winners!

Is that the reason Dump likes to bring up Pres. Obama when ever he can? Or the fact he continues to bring up the media because they call out his lies? Or the fact that he continues to try and explain himself and Putin while he changes his story?

Seems to me that expression applies to Dump perfectly!

19 ( +19 / -0 )

@Cla68

90% of Republicans are sticking Dump, many praising his performance

1) Which part do they support? The siding with the country that attacked the US? Or the part where he lied about doing it?

Trumptards and some Republicans are traders too. Anybody who puts their party before their country. They will do anything to feel like they are actual winners for once. Even lie to themselves and others. It seems Dumps delusional symptoms are contagious.

2) He lied again this morning a changed the story he said that he told Putin to end the hacking in private.

The Latest: Trump says he told Putin to end election hacking

3) But another former WH staff says he is lies all the time, so he does record any meeting. They know he can always lie about the meeting later if has to. Like the one in Helsinki.

Americans are left with just two choices, is Trump betraying America to Russia, or is he just a completely incompetent unqualified imbecile?

Either way, America can't afford to let him remain President of the country. He denies that he is willfully betraying his country, which would instead mean that he is unfit for office.

That is enough reason to get him out of office Trump's governing philosophy is: If It Isn't Broke, Let's Break It.

15 ( +19 / -4 )

"Struggles"?? Just put a muzzle on the guy doing the talking and everything would be fine!

Better yet...give up, throw in the towel. There are just so many times you can open your mouth and exchange your feet, pretty soon you are going to end up with trench foot from all the saliva!

14 ( +16 / -2 )

Trump, you work for me. Stop lying to my foce and treating me like I'm a stupid. Do your damn job and stop kissing Putin's rear.

You are weak.

Great, then stop blaming the left and the media for everything Trump does.

He apologized for an interview, not for retweeting a racist video.

It’s still an apology.

So if I say 'I apologise' once, that covers everything in my past that I might be expected to apologise for, whether or not I want or mean to apologise for them?

Trump apologised (sort of) for criticising Theresa May in an interview in a trash UK tabloid during his recent trip to the UK. In fact he didn't apologise for criticising her, he apologised for the tabloid choosing to use his more scathing remarks in their article on the interview. He did not deny the remarks, or actually apologise for them.

He did NOT apologise for retweeting vile, fake videos put out by a racist UK group, whose scumbag leaders were later convicted and put behind bars for anti-Muslim hate speech. Or, when Mrs May objected to the retweeting of the hate speech videos, for essentially telling her to shut up and mind her own business. The nearest he got to an apology was in an interview with ITV in which he said, 'If you are telling me they're horrible people, horrible, racist people, I would certainly apologise if you'd like me to do that'. Not I do apologise. I would if pushed to it.

He's a rabble-rousing, mealy-mouthed coward.

cla68 etal Sounds like RT.

"The president has made clear to Vladimir Putin that he should stay out of U.S. elections," Sanders said.

Er, yeah ... right. Maybe in some alternative universe.

"We're doing very well, probably as well as anybody has ever done with Russia. And there's been no president ever as tough as I have been on Russia,"

Is that why you rolled over and let Putin tickle your belly?

9 ( +10 / -1 )

The guy has a pathological inability to be seen as being incompetent, combined with being incompetent. I've worked with people like that, and they were the worst co-workers ever. And this guy leads the US. What a disaster.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Is Trump a controlled asset of the Russians?

*"He (Trump) is clearly acting in a way that he thinks Putin wants him to act, and that raises very interesting questions. Is it just because he wants good relations with Russia? I don't think so. You know, I have been very reluctant to come to the conclusion that he is a controlled asset, but that's the term that we use in the intelligence community when we have someone in another government who for whatever reason does what we want them to do because we're bribing them, because we have something on them. He is acting like a controlled asset."*

Richard A. Clarke,

Former U.S. National Coordinator for Counter-Terrorism (7 / 18 / 2018)

Is Trump Derangement Syndrome where people read too many Trump comments and start to become as deranged as Trump? Because it seems like 40% of America has been struck with that.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Ah, when every single person in the room except for you is wrong, do you know what that means? Trump doesn't. Love how Pompeo is even laughing at him in this pic.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Bass: Sorry, I would do the exact same thing

Nah. We’ve talked for a long time. I’ve never heard you talk down to the military, It’s just something you wouldn’t do.

But you will cheer Trump when he does it because it makes him win, and you’re on his team, so you are winning.

You criticized him for his performance with Putin and I think those were your real feelings. None of the other Trump’s fans here did that. It didn’t last, but we all had respect for you in that moment.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

I can see potential here for a great new game: "No means Yes". Each round is played as follows:

1) Journalist asks Trump if Russia meddled in the US election.

2) Trump denies it.

3) Trump's spokesperson has to think up an explanation for why, when Trump said "no", he actually meant "yes".

Hours of fun for everyone.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

"No"...'Meaning no, and whatever I was thinking at the time, didn't I say what I was thinking?  I usually do, oh well...'

Some might think Trump was being vague on purpose so that he could change the meaning later to suit the media reaction, fake news or not.  But that credits him with far too much intelligence.

When I want to teach my high school students about vagueness and generalising I often quote Trump as a prime example.  It seems to come naturally to him.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Asked why Americans should defend NATO member Montenegro from attack, Trump said, "I've asked the same question. Montenegro is a tiny country with very strong people. ... They are very aggressive people, they may get aggressive, and congratulations, you are in World War Three." Montenegro joined NATO last year in defiance of Moscow after accusing Russian spies of orchestrating an attempted coup to derail the accession.

There is no more clear evidence that Trump is under the thumb of Putin than this comment, which completely undermines the credibility of our 69 year NATO partnership – a goal of every Russian dictator since Stalin. Putin has been trying to destabilize and weaken NATO for years - and Trump just presented him with his trophy.  Now that Trump have given him the “green light”  –  with Georgia and Ukraine under his belt, he can now march on to Montenegro, Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland…..  Trump is an imbecile and has made the world a much more dangerous place.

Trump certainly deserves the nickname “Sputnik” – he broadcasts Russian propaganda, he’s in Russia’s orbit, and he’s controlled by Moscow….

For anyone who wants to translate TexAggie's above post, here's a glossary.

@bas4 He apologized already.

He apologized for an interview, not for retweeting a racist video.

@commentee One has to be a special kind of gullible to believe that is what is happening in this pic. Sad that so many are.

The poster expressed an opinion, as did you. As am I by responding.

@serrano These people just can't seem to wrap their heads around the fact that Trump beat Hillary in the election.

Hillary again? She's long time gone - wrap you head around that. Move along. I'm worried about what Trump's been doing to the US and to international relations, plus all of the alleged illegal and unethical activities he might have been involved in. Hillary and Obama are really haunting some of you guys, aren't they.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

The number one sufferer lof of Donald Trump Derangement Syndrome is the screaming Cheeto himself. He simply infected the cult members with a similar dose of insanity.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Asked why Americans should defend NATO member Montenegro from attack, Trump said, "I've asked the same question. Montenegro is a tiny country with very strong people. ... They are very aggressive people, they may get aggressive, and congratulations, you are in World War Three."

More RT/Sputnik reasoning ala '...Syria no-fly zone = WW3'.

One interpretation of what Trump (and RT) are saying is there are only 2 choices: Putin's way or WW3.

Bifurcators want issues divided into polar choices, completing ignoring all options in between. Their despotic leaders understand how easy it is to en-sheeple their followers using the power of the 'Big lieS'.

Cult of personality redux.

For a few heart-stopping seconds the lights went out and when they came on again a deranged Donnie Darko hugging himself bigly before the cameras attempted a highly unconvincing flip-flop, a gaslighting, Groucho Marxian performance reading nervously from script and ad-libbing inanely to further insult the intelligence of the public with his risible parsing of his infamous Helsinki meltdown which all boiled down to a desperate "Who ya gonna believe, the "stable genius", or your lyin' eyes'n'ears"? Trouble is, Groucho is funny, Trumpo NOT!

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Cla68: 90% of Republicans are sticking with President Trump, many praising his performance.

Sure, but a vast majority of those people are humiliated by Trump’s wet noodle performance on the world stage. First with Un, now with Putun.

And I get it. You alone have the power to make Trump a winner in situations where he loses. You were deflated seeing Trump kiss Putin’s rear....but if you cheer Trump’s name anyway, then he WINS! Look at his approval ratings! He did a great job! We love him! Trump wins!

It’s like watching a friend in an abusive relationship. You tell her to leave. You tell her that he’s a bad guy and he won’t change, If you’ve ever been in that situation, they always agree with you and try to make a change.

Trump fans are the opposite. Their response is, “Oh, so you’re saying he’s a bad guy for beating me up?? Well I still support him! I’ll stay with him! So HE wins and YOU lose!!”

So cheer the wet noodle. Make him a winner when he undercuts the men and women in the American intelligence community, calls war heroes losers, insults our war dead. You make it possible, so enjoy it.

You’re on the winning team.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Supporting our president is equal to choosing to stay in an abusive relationship now?

Yep. When you support a guy who is working against the best interests of your company, it's very equivalent.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

And bury the past?

No, just stop ignoring the present.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

So I dont expect the police to arrest and prosecute when I see the guy who robbed by house back in 2016 walking down the street today? The past is quite relevant in many cases. you arent innocent just because you lose an election or dont get caught until later because you hid the evidence well.

The subject of this article is Donald Trump and what he is doing now. The subject of this thread of comments is Donald Trump and what he is doing now.

Whatever Hillary did in the past is irrelevant to assessing the merits of what Donald Trump is doing now. What Donald Trump is doing now is the most relevant piece of evidence to consider in evaluating what Donald Trump is doing now.

When an article about what Hillary Clinton did several years ago comes out, we can certainly talk about what Hillary Clinton did several years ago.

Why would a non American living in Japan have to “deal with” Trump? Only if he does something that affects Japan or your home country, right?

I’m from the UK and I’ll be returning there to live in the near future. When Trump gave an interview to a trash tabloid in the UK, he put the idea of a trade deal with the US in doubt and then seemed to say something else at a press conference. It’s hard to tell if it was a U-turn for the cameras he didn’t actually say, or may correct later, or may have been misreported by the fake news media etc.

There was less confusion about him retweeting dodgy videos from racists in the UK, and giving these now imprisoned sewer-dwellers publicity. That was very clear indeed.

Trump’s gibberish, U-turns and unhealthy interest in racists affects the UK. These are just two examples. There are others.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

And dont text and drive.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

@burningbush etal He doesn't seem to care what you think.

Absolutely true. Waiting to hear what @cochise and the 'others' have to say, which sides they'll represent to keep the flames burning. Russia is far ahead in cyberwarfare, isn't.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

What a perfect article for JT and the ultra liberals on this tabloid.

I'll explain it in 1 sentence,

"Winners are focused on winning, Losers are focused on winners!"

I am focused on the loser of the Helsinki summit, so I’m not sure where that puts me in your worldview.

Trump of course is focused on Putin the winner, so that is consistent with him being a loser according to you, and I do agree with that.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

What"s the proper response to a president that continuously lies, shows obvious incompetence and corruption, and attacks the 4th estate for doing their job of challenging positions of power? What seems like derangement is actually a natural response to lousy leadership. Sure his critics can complain too often, but that doesn't mean what they're complaining about isn't true.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Follow the money. When the dust settles, I bet we'll find corrupt ties between Trump and Russia extending back decades.

And corruption is a growing issue. Even GOPers consider Repubs to be more corrupt than Dems, a recent poll showed. This is the one issue that even die-hard Trumpers cannot ignore.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Sorry, I would do the exact same thing, I would never give Mueller credit for anything. As bad as it was, I get it. If Trump had agreed with the intelligence community, the left would have said to themselves, see...he admits it! So the president did indeed collude with Russia and the left would have further had two meltdowns and he would have to many articles of impeachment and the whole team stunk to high heaven of a trap set on foreign soil for the president to incriminate himself.

Literally you are complaining that the only options Trump has is to admit to committing a crime or lying about it and somehow this is all the "left's" fault, not his?

You guys elected a turd and are stuck with him. Own it.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

It doesn't matter where the money comes from, be it Adelson, Koch, Mercer, Soros or Russian money. It is money that has corrupted our democracy. We have allowed it to infiltrate every part of our political system. Americans are bombarded with election advertising that lies and distorts, and for the most part we don't even know who is paying for the lies and distortions. The people we elect to represent us work only for the wealthy folks who put them in office.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

BlacklabelToday  10:10 am JST

TDS in full effect, Supporting our president is equal to choosing to stay in an abusive relationship now?

Well, what are you getting out of it? You're on here all the time, defending this cretin unconditionally whatever he does, wasting your time on discussions with people that you're never, ever going to get to agree with you, no more than you're ever going to agree with them, and what's the benefit for you? Is there nothing you could be doing that wouldn't be more fun or productive? So I don't know about abusive, but the relationship certainly looks a bit... one-sided.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Also, his electoral base overwhelmingly supports detent with Russia. It’s one of the reasons they elected him. Talk about FAKE NEWS.

I presume you mean detente, as detent is a device that prevents forward motion?

Hard to tell with the Trump base. If they can even point out Russia on the map...

This is the problem with Trump and his supporters. It's hard to tell what they want as they twist words, backtrack, mislead and misconstrue.

His performance is increasingly surreal. Surely the end days are in sight?

6 ( +7 / -1 )

@blackbal Why would a non American living in Japan have to “deal with” Trump? Only if he does something that affects Japan or your home country, right?

Are you questioning an individual's freedom, regardless of their nationality, to express an opinion using a free, for-profit international media outlet? Thousands of individuals living and working in Japan, regardless of nationality, are affected by US - Japan relations in any number of ways. They have to 'deal with' the effects of the decisions he and the GOP make, especially those concerning trade.

Same with people from countries all around the world. Trump and the GOP are doing things that affect billions. How about the Russians posting on this site writing pro-Trump messages? You guys have never complained about that.

But in reading comments written by GoTrumpers, wanting to stop people, Americans or not, from saying anything negative about Trump is consistent. Most want to shut down any criticism of their political messiah. They can't stand to read anything that questions him and his backers.

The sense of the 'not very attractive in any way' American has come about for many reasons.

And why should an American living in Japan question what anyone here does if they're staying within the law?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

90% of President Trump's problems are self-inflicted.

His retirement in Feb '19 would be good for conservatives, to provide a new President for 2 more terms. If he leaves too soon, the term limit for presidents would be harmful to Republicans.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Oh look, how cute. Trump has expanded his vocabulary for defending himself from one phrase ("fake news") to two ("fake news" or "TDS").

He is growing up so fast. As are his supporters.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Blacklabel: I am sure people who have been actual victims of an abusive relationship would not agree with your hysterics.

You missed the point, but that’s OK. I wasn’t actually talking about you since I really don’t see you as the type of people I was describing.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

And yeah Romney actually said Russia is our number one geopolitical foe and Obama laughed at him.

Credit where it's due, Romney was right on that one.

Yet now that is exactly what the Dems are claiming to prevent Trump and Putin from being able to even talk. Who is laughing now?

Um, no.

Trump's campaign was in repeated contact with Russians during the campaign, the Russians interfered in the campaign to get Trump elected, Trump has decades of business ventures with the Russians, and Trump won't show where exactly his money comes from even though that's been the standard for 40 years so as to prevent questions exactly like Trump is facing right now. Then Trump just went and had a 2-hour off the record conversation with him in private.

Meeting with the enemy is not a problem. Meeting with the enemy off the record, when it's not clear whether or not the person meeting with them is their pawn, is a MASSIVE problem.

Try to keep your manufactured outrage on track please.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Trump mis-spoke. The American people mis-voted. Trump issued a correction the next day. The American people will issue their corrections in the 2018 and 2020 elections.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I sure don't remember Obama rambling on this far into his term about how everything bad that was happening was Bush's fault.

I can't particularly recall Obama ever really saying anything about Bush or that administration.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Yet so many people are whining that Trump is being treated like Trump treats people.

I haven’t come across attacks on Trump that come near the tornado of trash he was spewing. I think the only unhinged rightwing clown car he didn’t jump on was the one blaring out messages that Obama is the anti-Christ.

To hear him complaining about deranged attacks on him is childish more than anything else. At a certain age, most balanced people learn the virtue of self-reflection and the ability to be honest about yourself.

This bawling baby has been throwing his potty around non-stop. It stinks, it’s dirty and it’s pathetic.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Pssst - Pete - She was just running her mouth the other day about Trump, lol.

That must really scare those with Hillary Derangement Syndrome. Or are you suggesting Trump should do a Putin and have her quieted?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I don’t see why others who are not American have this huge interest on a Japan website about our politics

Unfortunately, you guys are the only ones who get to choose the chump that the rest of us have to deal with. That's why it's news. You guys wanted a disruptor, and now you're all wierded out when he has disrupted things.

Don't worry, as distrust in America grows world-wide, and American turns inward into isolation, the impact of Trump and the right will have less impact on the rest of the world, and will become less of an issue.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I don’t see why others who are not American have this huge interest on a Japan website about our politics to the level of getting TDS from it.

Because your, er, leader has an affect on the rest of the world, sadly. And because this site may have a strong US demographic in terms of readership but Americans are not the sole gaijin grouping here in Japan.

I’m not mocking and name calling EU leaders every day because it doesn’t concern me.

No, you're just mocking those who see the dangerous behaviour inherent in the Trump administration as deranged.

As for EU leaders (my turn to mock) you probably can't name more than 2 or 3 without recourse to Google ;-)

Joking aside, when EU leaders start to jeopardise world stability, that's the time to get stuck in with the mocking.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

There is only one symptom of Trump Derangement Syndrome:

1. You don't think Trump is deranged.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Why would a non American living in Japan have to “deal with” Trump? Only if he does something that affects Japan or your home country, right?

You mean like declaring a trade war against our country? Or undermining NATO? Or insulting its leaders? Or threatening to collapse the global economic and security system through incompetence?

Granted most domestic things he does that inflame American opponents - try to kick millions off of health insurance, do nothing about guns, stir up racism, cage children, give massive tax cuts to the wealthy, explode the national deficit and so on - don't effect those of us fortunate to live outside the US, so we don't comment on them as much.

But unfortunately we live in a world in which the rest of us can't ignore the fact that the President of the United States is a complete idiot the way we can ignore the fact that the Prime Minister of Hungary is a complete idiot. His crap affects us too.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

One only needs to open their eyes and read what the rest of the world is saying about, and analysing, Trumps comments and performance on the world stage. Laughing stock would be rather kind. Some people really do need to take the blinkers off. I genuinely feel sorry for those thinking Americans who are being tarred with the Trump brush.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

@silvafan see: https://japantoday.com/category/world/mere-gun-lover-or-siberian-spy-maria-butina's-curious-path

But Trump supporters in the US and 'abroad' will echo Putin and Trump, saying 'can't prove it' and 'can't trust US intelligence agencies'. It's been frightening to watch the sheet come off the faces of those in the US who long claimed to be 'patriotic' (whatever that means) as they become rabidly anti-American, willing to trade the country away so Trump and his richest backers can get richer. 35% of Americans in the cult of personality?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Yet now that is exactly what the Dems are claiming to prevent Trump and Putin from being able to even talk. Who is laughing now?

We want Trump to talk. We don't want him to bend over and throw our own under the bus.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

No one is doing that, not even Trump.

Then why is it that every time Trump does something idiotic in the present all we hear about from him or his supporters including you are stories about all the bad things Obama or Hillary did in the past? Usually completely unrelated things at that.

Obama and Hillary are not president. Trump is. I sure don't remember Obama rambling on this far into his term about how everything bad that was happening was Bush's fault.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

You dont agree that the recent attacks and extremely partisan statements from the Obama intelligence community leaders could be the reason why he is right to not blindly trust what they concluded?

You don't agree that he may have a personal motive for denouncing an investigation involving key people in his administration and possibly himself?

The extremely partisan statements were directed at a known con man who insults POWs and Gold Star families. Again, what do you think is the proper response to something like that?

However "extreme" the statements may have been, there's no evidence that there's any bias in the way investigations are started or conducted. On the contrary, both sides seem to get investigated as seen in the multiple Clinton investigations.

The current "witch hunt" has already indicted 32 people. How many were indicted in the dozens of Benghazi investigations again?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Because we are tired of the double standard games the left play, especially when they were warned of Russian meddling, they did nothing and the Democrats didn’t take the threat and now all of a sudden the Dems have hysteria meltdown of biblical proportions.

I'm not a Democrat. In politics each side throws whatever argument they can against their opponent regardless of whether its hypocritical, call it a double standard if you will but it goes both ways. That is what politicians do.

That is a separate issue from us non-politicians trying to evaluate what actual political leaders are doing right now. I think, based on what I have seen and read, that the current president of the United States is acting like an idiot. The fact that you don't like what Democrats did in the past is not an actual answer to that charge. The fact that nobody is interested in complaints about what Hillary and Obama did is not just attributable to bias (and I'm not pretending that bias doesn't exist) but because they are not the ones with the keys to the White House right now and are pretty irrelevant to what is happening at this point.

You guys are eager to roast this President for any infraction, but when called on previous presidents and their past transgressions, particularly the Democrat ones, didn’t it’s the usual, “hey, that’s not fair whining.”

Yup, I'm eager to roast him because I don't like him or his policies. So? If he or his policies are good, they should be worth defending on their own merits. Yet this almost never happens, instead whenever the blatant incompetence of the man or the sheer awfulness of his policies are brought up, we just get a wall of random Hillary is bad talking points. Its a pathetic defence of the man. Disagree with my calling him incompetent and his policies awful? Try crafting a statement in support of them based on why they are good rather than just telling me why Democrats are bad. Its way more convincing.

The small minority Trump haters are at it again, blinded to the good things Trump has done for America.

Out of curiosity, what are the majority of Trump haters up to?

White House not ruling out Putin proposal to let Russia question ex-US ambassador, prominent financier

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/07/18/white-house-not-ruling-out-putin-proposal-to-let-russia-question-ex-us-ambassador-prominent-financier.html

The White House said Wednesday that President Trump would consider whether to allow Russian prosecutors to interview onetime U.S. ambassador to Moscow Michael McFaul and other Americans in connection with criminal claims against Bill Browder, a prominent critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Jimizo, you aren’t an inquisitor wannabe by any chance, are you?

No, just inquisitive. I was just wondering if retweeting dodgy racist videos is now acceptable behaviour from a US president. It truly shocked me that no Trump supporter could call it out. I was very persistent but I don’t think I was being inquisitorial.

By the way, what do you think about retweeting dodgy videos from racists?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

I have been searching for evidence of that for nearly 2 years and have seen none.

Two years is nothing in a case like this, and the Mueller probe is already moving faster than average with 35 indictments in this early stage.

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/mueller-is-moving-quickly-compared-to-past-special-counsel-investigations/

There's no way for us to know more than the investigators, so leave the searching to them. They'll reveal all they know when it's all over. In the meantime, we have the indictments, which include several guilty pleas, some from former Trump aides.

Yet I see clear evidence of the bias and partisan Trump hate from intelligence officials in their tweets, interviews, public statements and the confirmed actions while they were in office in 2016.

All humans have personal feelings about things. Bias is only a problem when it affects your actions. What are these "confirmed actions" you speak of?

Its quite clear with evidence I can see.

Again, which evidence specifically?

Trump, not yet, despite endless speculation and suspicion.

You have to agree that firing the lead investigator in a case so close to you is a clear action that only promotes more speculation and suspicion, right? It's the type of action that caused Nixon to lose even his closest supporters. Clearly those were different times.

@ socktrader clam: What a perfect article for JT and the ultra liberals on this tabloid.

I'll explain it in 1 sentence,

"Winners are focused on winning, Losers are focused on winners!"

Gee, I wonder which one the majority of the commenters are?

For some reason, I can't downvote your input, so I have to reply instead. It's not a game when your President is lying on a daily basis, upsetting allies and throwing his own intelligence services under the bus. He's not winning by claiming that it was America's fault for being hacked. He's coming under fire from his own party. This is not, in any sense of the word, "winning". Far from it.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Anyone want to add anything?

Would love to but apparently only some replies are deemed worthy!

In the last few days, those speaking out/protesting the man have been called losers, mentally ill, rent a mob, unemployed, paid protesters and now deranged. All provocative charges and designed to elicit a response. Funny, that.

Why would a non American living in Japan have to “deal with” Trump? Only if he does something that affects Japan or your home country, right?

Aye and Trump's many misdemeanours affect not just the US but the entire world. Hence my posts.

Seems “mueller investigation” would be insignificant to you and that you would want to avoid the upheaval and instability in the world if Trump were actually found guilty and had to be replaced.

Better the devil ye know, eh? Nah, I don't think so. That's not much of an excuse for keeping such a disaster in power. Besides, we'll deal with Pence when he takes on the gig. Can't be long now.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

They get a lot of stories because that translates to these so called journalists into cold hard Cha-Ching! $! It’s all about the click baits. But be honest, I’m starting to think you don’t like Trump.

And did your canny nose for a good story suss that one out?

I don't like people who fabricate and mislead, make stuff up and then pretend they didn't.

And I'm not talking about actual journalists with Reuters (or JT).

Trump is bad news. And yes, that sells.

@lincolnman  with Georgia and Ukraine under his belt, he can now march on to Montenegro, Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland…..

Don't forget Bulgaria and in the Baltic area Estonia. Putin wants a neo-USSR, maybe an enlargement of the tsars' old empires, under his command.

He's got the oil and gas to expand his empire, and now Trump and the GOP are ceding the remaining bits of the US empire, including regions that don't belong to the US, to him as the US further isolates itself.

Cadet 'Capitulate and Appease while on bending knees to his master' Bonespurs must stand to get richer, rich enough to afford living anywhere outside the US.

Is Trump Derangement Syndrome

It's a meme like 'fake news', 'MSM', 'globalists' and so many others extremists on the US and 'foreign' right have used to appeal to their base. Their leaders know they need to use the KISS principle for their followers to understand.

Memes like those make it easier for the 'big lieS' to be accepted. When they're questioned, the followers can respond from a menu of choices. Read JT forums for many examples.

"No one is doing that, not even Trump."

Then why is it that every time Trump does something idiotic in the present all we hear about from him or his supporters including you are stories about all the bad things Obama or Hillary did in the past? Usually completely unrelated things at that.

That's what they do when they can't offer any kind of credible defence. Try to change the topic and make it look as if Trump's critics have no right to be criticising him - never mind that the same critics may be just as scathing about Obama or Hillary Clinton.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

that picture says it all.

Pompeo: " oh crap now ive got to try and explain that word salad my boss just sprouted"

Ivanka: "yes sorry thats my father whos dribbling, but you know hes the only one ive got so ive got to support him no matter how bad it gets sigh"

3 ( +3 / -0 )

What are you talking abut??? Lol. The right criticize the President all the time

Not all the time. When discussing why Trump was generally reviled on his recent visit to the UK, I asked you and others to condemn Trump for retweeting dodgy videos from a racist group and was met with complete nothingness or you telling me it was in the past.

I was shocked that our objective and fair-minded Trump supporters were unable to condemn it. They were like the partisan left you’ve just described.

It was very revealing but very disappointing at the same time.

to me “world news” would be the Thai cave rescue. But it only has 2 comments. Brexit article has 5.

Well, I could post up suggestions as to what to cover but I fear that would not go down well with the site admin!

If I’m this website owner I’m getting page views from anti-trump stories all day long. Even though it really has nothing really to do with Japan. So if they post it, I comment. If they don’t, I won’t miss it.

Well, yes. As I said, it's the heavy US demographic that calls the shots. And one would hope, it's a broad demographic at that, educated and relatively au fait with what's happening in the world. But there's little doubt that the Trump stories do get the highest traffic. I'd disagree in that they are anti-Trump articles as that would imply some kind of bias at work. These stories are certainly bizarre but they are as they happen.

We need to know just what we're dealing with here. If it was any other world leader destabilising the world, there'd be an equal interest in it. I'd hope.

@blacklab Im just trying to get people to consider alternatives to what they are being fed by the liberal controlled media.

Being honest helps when trying to convince people. As does not constantly trying to undermine a free, for-profit press.

Trump is the one who misspoke - that's according to his own admission

So he should blame that

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I just don’t get that Dems and liberals

Plenty of Republicans criticized Trump. Even his own national security director disputed his remarks in public.

I know you're used to automatically scapgoating Dems and the media, but you also use it as a mischarcterization too often. Man up and stop giving the GOP a free pass if you are angry. Don't be so soft.

Heh, another "news" cycle where the liberal low information crowd laps up the spittle spewed by the DNC propaganda department, the MSM, blissfully unaware of the real reason as to why the globalist media machine is engaged in so much manufactured pearl clutching.

"I've asked the same question. Montenegro is a tiny country with very strong people. ... They are very aggressive people, they may get aggressive, and congratulations, you are in World War Three."

Trump really is an idiot. Trump advocates, help me out here. Does Trump actually mean this or will he “clarify “ again? You might want to wait before backing the statement, you know, in case he backpedals again.

Pretty obvious that Trump doesn’t understand how article 5 works.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Trump's governing philosophy is: If It Isn't Broke, Let's Break It. especially if somebody else thought of it, make sure its well and truly fudged up and if we cant fix it or change it into something similar and claim credit for it, we can always blame somebody else for the mess.

Trump mis-spoke. The American people mis-voted.

And that’s why she lost.

so basically your saying the American people mis-voted so Hillary wasnt elected POTUS, so the correct vote would have been for Hillary!?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Was it Obama/Hillary or Trump that pressed that fake reset button? Was it Obama or Trump that was picked up on a hot mike while speaking to the Russians that he would be more flexible after he won the next election? Was it Obama or Trump that would not supply arms to the Ukraine? Was it Obamaor Trump that did nothing to Russia when it invaded the Ukraine? Was it Obama or Trump that pulled plans for a missile defense system in Europe after Russia complained? In what administration was the Russian meddling most prevalent and nothing done about it ? ( hmm . that would be who was in charge prior to the elections). Was it during Trump or Obama that the US sold 20% of its uranium to Russia. Was it Obama or Trump that upset the Russians by selling Ukraine arms and restoring plans for Eastern Europe defense? Was it Obama or Trump that recently place sanctions on Russia and expelled scores of "diplomats" ? Look at actions and just not words to see who really placates Russia. Was it Obama or Trump that attacked Syria at the airport where Russians were stationed? Was it Obama or Trump that drew a line in the sand and then let Syria and the Russians cross it? Was it Obama or Trump that propped up terrorist supporting Iran by giving them billions to stop nuclear programs yet did not get to inspect the sites developed by their military? Yes, he may say the wrong thing politically but the actions are what count, not political rhetoric. Much of what is reported is seen through the eyes of the liberal media, over 90% who vote democrat.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Speaking of things that need to "get in check" concerning politics in the US, alongside "TDS" is also two others-- I'd call one PTDS and the other just PDS-- Pro-Trump Derangement Syndrome, those who cannot think objectively about Trump, no matter what he does or says just go along, and Partisan Derangement Syndrome, those who cannot think objectively about what members of the opponent political party have to say. WE could all do better at our public discourse.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Americans are left with just two choices, is Trump betraying America to Russia, or is he just a completely incompetent unqualified imbecile?

Why is this an "or" question. He can be both at the same time!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Even a broken clock is right twice a day :-)

Im just trying to get people to consider alternatives to what they are being fed by the liberal controlled media. That is how I was able to come to the realization that Trump could and then would win the election despite the 98% Hillary predictions.

Not that I wanted Trump to win, but once it was either/or with Hillary, the choice was clear to me. it’s more a sad state of affairs that of a country of 330 million we were stuck with those 2 people to choose from.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The whole world is suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, and things won't get better until he is out of office.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

There's hypocrisy in the US politic and as well as the EU. Both sides of the Parties are okay when the US meddling in other country politics. Even the US Government and the CIA have many times tried to change the Government with the American friendly group in another country in the past.

Okay, the Russian is meddling in the US election. So what? The CIA did the same thing too. The US and EU have used the NGO as spies and to support West friendly opposition groups in other countries. There are some the United State and the EU Governments back NGOs have secretly given money to pro-West opposition groups in Russia and other Asian countries as well as Africa. Even the UN officials were using by the Middle East Governments and the OIC as their agent. Some Médecins Sans Frontières' staffs are working for Middle East Governments and the OIC.

I believed the good relationship between the US and the Russia is very important and good thing for the world. The Russian Government can help the US Government for the North Korea disarming nuclear weapons. The EU discriminating against the Russian Government and President Putin is a bad idea and not helping peace and stability in regime. The EU and the NATO expansion to Russia backyard is bad thing. If the EU member states worried about the Russian expansion to their back yard and then they should not initiate the expand the EU and the NATO power to the Russia's backyard.

The EU has used the NATO for its expanding in Eastern Europe. The EU thinks everything the EU was doing is right. The EU was okay when the EU has exploited Ukraine to join the EU and influence over the Ukraine Government.

Why can't the US and the Russia move on to the next level and start a new relationship and new era?

The discriminating against the Russian Government and the President Putin is not benefiting to West and it's fueling the problem in the Middle East, Africa and the Asia. It will go back the cold war era and divide the world into groups.

The EU is worried about developing a good relationship between the Russian Government and the US Government. The EU, especially the French Government and German Government thinks the NATO will become weak if the relationship between the US Government and the Russian Government was improved and becoming friendship between the President Trump and the President Putin.

The EU will be indirectly meddled next the US Presidential election. There are many methods to meddle another country's politic in the digital age. The EU wants to see the President Trump lost in 2020 the presidential election. No one is better than another. Stop discriminating the Russia and the President Putin and move on.

One of the most important qualities a president, or any leader for that matter, must have is the ability to communicate effectively. Trump has the worst communications skills of any US president, maybe ever.

Well he is communicating to the so called media exactly the way they need to be communicated, he is playing them around at his leisure and making them look like total and complete fools, while in the background he does the real work and gets it done. He is just using them as a distraction and the majority of MNS is providing all the distraction he will ever need.

Because we are tired of the double standard games the left play, especially when they were warned of Russian meddling, they did nothing and the Democrats didn’t take the threat and now all of a sudden the Dems have hysteria meltdown of biblical proportions.

You guys are eager to roast this President for any infraction, but when called on previous presidents and their past transgressions, particularly the Democrat ones, didn’t it’s the usual, “hey, that’s not fair whining.”

Obama and Hillary are not president.

Funny, when Democrat President’s are in power, the left always reminds us what the previous Republican president has done, but if the tables are turned, sorry, you’re not allowed to bring that up.

Trump is. I sure don't remember Obama rambling on this far into his term about how everything bad that was happening was Bush's fault.

They did as well as his supporters for 6 years.

If you want to hold Trump accountable, no one has a problem with that, but it is outrageous when the left fail to recognize their own faults and shortcomings.

Why should "the left" do anything of the sort in a discussion about the current administration, not previous ones?

Ahhhh....but when it came to bashing Bush, all bets were off then, so what changed? Liberals moving the goal post once again?

No Democratic president, candidate, politician or administration is mentioned even once in the article because they are not relevant. I'm surprised the moderators don't point that out more often.

Here is the thing, you want to bash Trump for what he did, fine. You want to call it a treasonous act......uhhh, ok? But how about being consistent, so how is Trump not saying Russia meddled in our election treasonous, but the previous President leaning over to the previous Russian President on a hot mic whispering “after my election, I’ll have more flexibility to talk about the missile defense shield?” Please explain that. I really want to hear the lefts excuse.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Well, yes. As I said, it's the heavy US demographic that calls the shots. And one would hope, it's a broad demographic at that, educated and relatively au fait with what's happening in the world.

I just don’t get that Dems and liberals mad that Trump doesn’t trust the “intelligence community” (which actually was just Clapper, Brennan and Comey at the time)

Same Dems and liberals perfectly fine that DNC didnt trust same intelligence community to view their hacked server. Instead they gave it to a third party analyst linked to Mueller. Who obediently reported back that it was Russia.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

"Everyone was embarrassed by what Trump did"

Yeah, Super, it's so embarrassing to have a president who is much tougher on Russia than Obama was, yet be gracious in his meeting with their president.

Real world application of the theoretical psychological and social related to my actual profession. Point/counterpoint, how to deal with difficult people, illogical and biased thought patterns, research methods, sourcing, etc.

You don't agree that he may have a personal motive for denouncing an investigation involving key people in his administration and possibly himself?

yes, he may well have that. I have been searching for evidence of that for nearly 2 years and have seen none. Yet I see clear evidence of the bias and partisan Trump hate from intelligence officials in their tweets, interviews, public statements and the confirmed actions while they were in office in 2016. Its quite clear with evidence I can see. Trump, not yet, despite endless speculation and suspicion.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

theFu: "90% of President Trump's problems are self-inflicted. His retirement in Feb '19..."

He'll retire in Jan '25. Good enough? hehe

Oh the Richard A. Clarke that said the Obama CIA had the capability to kill Obama and government surveillance critic journalist Michael Hastings by remote controlling his car? Interesting, as I definitrly agree that is possible and may even have happened.

But his comments only matter when they are anti-Bush or anti-Trump, liberals won’t believe anything else he says as valid for some reason.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

You dont agree that the recent attacks and extremely partisan statements from the Obama intelligence community leaders could be the reason why he is right to not blindly trust what they concluded?

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Hastings was a critic of the Obama administration and of illegal government surveillance. Got dead in a suspicious car crash, this Clarke guy said it’s possible CIA killed him by hacking his car as they have capability to do so. His comments were not given credibility then, but now his comments are credible?

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

Take this to the bank, @realDonaldTrump: you turn over former U.S. Ambassador @McFaul to Putin, you can count on me and millions others to swiftly make you an ex-president.

all the Trump Derangement tells me we are getting closer and closer to the truth of it all. Above is actually the Twitter post of an elected Dem Congressman. Won’t even allow Russia to speak to this McFaul guy and threatens the President over it.

Same congressman who kept interrupting Peter Strzok testimony to prevent him from having to answer legitimate questions.

Has the media asked him what he plans to do to make Trump an ex president? No election until 2020 you know.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

speaking of Trump Derangement Syndrome........

And yeah Romney actually said Russia is our number one geopolitical foe and Obama laughed at him. Yet now that is exactly what the Dems are claiming to prevent Trump and Putin from being able to even talk. Who is laughing now?

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

You were deflated seeing Trump kiss Putin’s rear....but if you cheer Trump’s name anyway, then he WINS! Look at his approval ratings! He did a great job! We love him! Trump wins!

Steadily hovering at 47% not shabby at all when you factor in all the grenades the left are trying to throw at him on a continuous basis.

It’s like watching a friend in an abusive relationship. You tell her to leave. You tell her that he’s a bad guy and he won’t change, If you’ve ever been in that situation, they always agree with you and try to make a change.

My friend, you just summed up the entire Democratic Party and their progressive socialist movement.

Trump fans are the opposite. Their response is, “Oh, so you’re saying he’s a bad guy for beating me up?? Well I still support him! I’ll stay with him! So HE wins and YOU lose!!”

Pretty much. Besides Hillary, Bernie and lol....Cortez, who do they have?

So cheer the wet noodle. Make him a winner when he undercuts the men and women in the American intelligence community, calls war heroes losers, insults our war dead. You make it possible, so enjoy it.

Sorry, I would do the exact same thing, I would never give Mueller credit for anything. As bad as it was, I get it. If Trump had agreed with the intelligence community, the left would have said to themselves, see...he admits it! So the president did indeed collude with Russia and the left would have further had two meltdowns and he would have to many articles of impeachment and the whole team stunk to high heaven of a trap set on foreign soil for the president to incriminate himself.

color your hair a)blue b)pink c)purple d)green

express your support for the transgender community or even join it and become a voice for it.

support abortions while at the same time show your disgust for separating children and the US border

show support for women by wearing a pink hat the symbolizes a female genitalia

become an open communist and hate America

7. feel bad and apologize for things you cannot control, like your skin color

I couldnt have proven my point any better.

No one is doing that, not even Trump.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

The White House said Wednesday that President Trump would consider whether to allow Russian prosecutors to interview onetime U.S. ambassador to Moscow Michael McFaul and other Americans in connection with criminal claims against Bill Browder, a prominent critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Yeah, that’s not going to happen. But I thought the story was funny as well when I read it.

He apologized for an interview, not for retweeting a racist video.

It’s still an apology.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

Oh yeah thats an awesome national platform that deals with all of the issues that people outside of California and NY really care about, please use this. Liberals are so far away from the real world that no one even understands you anymore.

No, they’ll run on defending our country from Russian attacks, sensible trade policy rather than tariffs that kill US jobs, and a pledge not to grab members of the opposite sex by their genitals…

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

Literally you are complaining that the only options Trump has is to admit to committing a crime or lying about it and somehow this is all the "left's" fault, not his?

No, I never said that, what happen in Helsinki was horrible, but I’m not going to dismiss that in 2014 the president back then chose not to do anything about Russian meddling or his head of the CIA which, if I remind you, once voted for the Russian communist party.

Gladly!

There’s a third choice, liberals need to get their TDS in check. Trump didn’t betray the States no more than the last commander in chief did with Medvedev. He screwed up, he clarified his position, nothing was taken or given, so he should weather this storm fairly well.

Either way, America can't afford to let him remain President of the country.

In 6 years the Dems will have a chance to try and put someone up that maybe won’t want to run on socialism or income redistribution.

He denies that he is willfully betraying his country, which would instead mean that he is unfit for office.

Of course he does, because he didn’t. Did he sell a portion of our uranium to the Russians? Did he promise to have more flexibility on the missile defense shield?

That is enough reason to get him out of office Trump's governing philosophy is: If It Isn't Broke, Let's Break It.

Broke? You mean like the Democratic Party? You guys now have a NY socialist making every Democrat run for the hills. Yeah, good luck with that.

What a misleading headline and article. 90% of Republicans are sticking with President Trump, many praising his performance. Also, his electoral base overwhelmingly supports detent with Russia. It’s one of the reasons they elected him. Talk about FAKE NEWS.
