"I think it should be a woman because I actually like women much more than men."

Trump can’t imagine that a Supreme Court Justice would have any function beyond how she makes him feel. Schmuck.

America is going to end as we know it. Brought down by a narcissistic fool and his Machiavellian enablers in the GOP. And the death cult that follows Trump.

"I think it should be a woman because I actually like women much more than men."

His history as a philanderer says he has zero regard for women other than as objects.

How many women has he appointed to his cabinet.

How many women has he had to have one of fixers pay off.

How many have accused him of some form of assault.

The architect of the Biden Rule will just have to hope that Republicans are too incompetent to take advantage of this historic opportunity to thwart Americas slide into systemic Progressivism.

You are probably right. Trumps election and the potential of a sixth Constitutionalist on the Supreme Court only delays America’s implosion. Because Dems insist on making government responsible for all aspects of people’s lives and the fact that both parties helped cause the nation to incur built-in annual deficits of $1 trillion there is no way out that doesn’t involve huge social disruption. Americans are too soft to bite the bullet and steer away from the cliff.

Time to stack the courts.

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

ALL Congressional Republicans WILL BE catering to trump & McConnell if they allow trump to nominate anyone & fill the vacant seat of RBG.

Vote (D), up and down the ballot.

Crush the GOP.

Kick McConnell (KY), Graham (SC), Tillis (NC), Ernst (IA), McSally (AZ), Collins (ME), Gardner (CO) & Daines (MT) out of Washington!

Kick trump*, his grifting family, and Pence out of Washington!

Thanks for the compliment. This is why I voted Trump.

Trump's plan an "exercise of raw political power."

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Is it illegal or not? That's the only question. Hint: it isn't.

Trump is picking from the MM list-o-approved conservative judges. The GOP is looking to stack the SCOTUS to prevent liberal "abuses" by lower courts, activists judges, for the next 20 yrs.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

The larger question is why the Supreme Court has so much power. and why the actual lawmakers can’t seem to pass laws that don’t need 5-4 decisions about if they are legal or not.

Fact check: Biden falsely claims Trump campaign only asked him for Supreme Court list after Ruth Bader Ginsburg died

Here’s another legal idea: eliminate the Filibuster, and name another 2-4 Justices. Using the majority he will have, President Biden can ram them down Mitch’s sizable gullet.

His history as a philanderer says he has zero regard for women other than as objects.

God, I sincerely hope Democrats don't try that crap again. Using the he doesn't respect woman card. That is so overplayed like the Russian hoax, no one believes that anymore. When he allowed Omarosa to live in the WH liberals were veeeery careful as to how to back up their bogus gender and racist empty claims. After she was kicked out then the accusations came which made No sense whatsoever, but I get it, Democrats need a catalyst.

And then one day when the GOP takes power Dems will be in a panic of what they will do. Democrats need to be careful, they talk a lot of BS, but they think that blowback will never come to bite them back.

What a bunch of sick, craven, hypocrites....

Sure, Dems should be worried - but it's the Repubs that should be terrified by this most brazen flip-flip...

So what other core beliefs and promises the Repubs hold is going to disappear tomorrow?

Abortion - we're OK with that. Assault weapons ban - Yes. Obamacare - strengthen it.

Repubs have now shown they have no values or core principals - they're just power-hungry authoritarians no different from the apparatchiks that sit around Putin.

And just like Trump with Woodward, it's all on tape and video for all to see...

No one cares what Woodward thinks, he has his opinion and if people want to read his books, more power to them. We have a lot of people on video, Trump is on video saying things, no one cares and it's not going to help the Dems on this one, Trump needs to fill that vacant seat and that's that. If the Dems have a conniption, so be it. Wouldn't be the first time.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Who cares what Trump and Biden say? What does the law say?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

The law says the President nominates and the Senate approves. So lets go.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Here's a tweet from Chuck Schumer in Feb. 2016:

"Attn GOP: Senate has confirmed 17 #SCOTUS justices in presidential election years. #DoYourJob"

Will do, Chuck!

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Remember waaay back in 2016, The democrats were demanding that the Senate hold hearings to approve a Supreme Court justice during an election campaign. Fast forward to 2020. The Democrats are demanding that the senate NOT hold hearings to approve a Supreme Court justice.... wonder what has changed?

The president and senate together must do this process. When the two are from differing parties, it is a long and fraught thing. When they are both the same party, it can get done very quickly.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

The law says the President nominates and the Senate approves. So lets go.

He shouldn't waste time on this.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Is it illegal or not? That's the only question. Hint: it isn't.

Not only is it legal, it is supported by Ginsburg herself:

Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the president filling SCOTUS seats in election years, 2016: "That's their job. There's nothing in the constitution that says the president stops being the president in his last year. Eight is not a good number for a collegial body that sometimes disagrees"

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Hillary Clinton, 2016:

"Holding a Supreme Court seat open dishonors our Constitution. The senate has a Constitutional responsibility to fill the seat."

2 ( +4 / -2 )

President Biden can ram them down Mitch’s sizable gullet.

Let's hope Moscow Mitch is eating grits in jail by then.

In the meantime, the Dems should move swiftly to bring charges against Trump and Barr on multiple counts for the egregious slew of crimes and misdemeanors they have committed and impeach the president for an unprecedented second time. Such a bold action would send a strong message to the electorate that the gloves are off and would surely concentrate the minds of the Trump Republicans otherwise bent on perverting justice with their rush to judgment by trashing RBG's legacy with Trump's right-wing eye-candy.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

The simple fact that some Democrats seem to be threatening to pack the court in retaliation for simple fulfillment of constitutional process is WHY Trump and McConnell should move forward. Threats to destroy institutions should not be humored with concessions.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

If Democrats want to threaten the President and Republicans then they have to retaliate back in the future, I am not advocating it, but Democrats need to understand that they can't continue to change the rules they see fit because if the Republicans were in charge they wouldn't hesitate for a second to fill a slot with any conservative justice that would pass on, they would NEVER listen to ANY requests the GOP would make, but now since they're not in power and because they don't control the Senate they can and have the right to usurp the political process?

If Hillary and Holder or Obama didn't go to jail, what makes you think Republicans will? Because you couldn't get your way? Because the GOP and the President will exercise his constitutional duty? Dems are desperate I get it, but I sure hope they're not stupid.

I’m curious why Mitch would be going to jail and for what reason Barr and Trump would be impeached.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

I’m curious why Mitch would be going to jail and for what reason Barr and Trump would be impeached.

no reasoning behind these hopes whatsoever. But feelings have been hurt and feelings are what's important to leftists these days.

God willing, Trump and McConnell will ram the nominee through in their faces.

Long after Trump is done at the White House, whether its this year or 2024, his transformation of the courts will be perhaps his biggest accomplishment.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Ginsburg was also against court packing by Dems.

"If anything, [it] would make the court look partisan," she said of the court-packing plans advocated by some Democrats. "It would be that — one side saying, 'When we're in power, we're going to enlarge the number of judges, so we would have more people who would vote the way we want them to.'"

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Hillary Clinton, 2016:

"Holding a Supreme Court seat open dishonors our Constitution. The senate has a Constitutional responsibility to fill the seat."

And then the Republicans set the precedent that a vote would not happen until the election.

This blatant hypocrisy in the Republican party in the push towards absolute power and authoritarianism is just one more nudge towards the civil war that is scheduled for mid-November, regardless of who wins.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I’m curious why Mitch would be going to jail and for what reason Barr and Trump would be impeached.

Retired prosecutor, Glenn Kirschner, on Youtube, could explain the reasons why. He keeps us up to date on the prospects of bringing Trump and his criminal enablers to face justice and jail time in 2021 because "justice matters".

2 ( +3 / -1 )

This blatant hypocrisy in the Republican party in the push towards absolute power and authoritarianism

Which the Democrats would never hesitate to fulfill if they controlled the Presidency and the Senate, so I could care less about the whining and screaming because they’re the last people that would play fair. We have seen that with the Mueller hoax, the fake impeachment and even now the investigators that are being investigated all had their phones wiped and encrypted? All of them in the same way? Again, McConnell shouldn’t hesitate and fill the seat.

is just one more nudge towards the civil war that is scheduled for mid-November, regardless of who wins.

Either way, there will be a civil war, I’m sure of it.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Anybody else thinks Trump should nominate Joe Biden for that Scotus seat? In that case I would stock up on popcorn.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

And then the Republicans set the precedent that a vote would not happen until the election.

Not at all. It wasnt a precedent. A cursory knowledge of the Constitution would illustrate that.
