Indecisive Britain. They cannot calculate merit and demerit of Brexit accurately. It is difficult to see the future rightly for all.

UK regrets Brexit but has no gut to reverse it.

May also needs to win over the Northern Irish Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), which has so far refused to back her plan.

Amazing how the dinosaurs of the DUP can wield such power. Of course, Sinn Fein could bring balance if they took their seats in Westminster. That's not going to happen, obviously. The day SF swear allegiance to a British monarch is the day they lose all credibility.

Watching the endless votes over the past couple of days just demonstrates that the UK is currently ungovernable.

"UK regrets Brexit but has no gut to reverse it"

First time I've agreed with anything you said.

And now the Brexit debacle. The Tory Party has collapsed into civil war between the pro-EU and far-right Brexiteers and May has lost her mind, as well as her voice.

"I will tell you, I'm surprised at how badly it's all gone from the standpoint of a negotiation," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office as he met Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar. "But I gave the prime minister my ideas on how to negotiate it and I think you would have been successful. She didn't listen to that, and that's fine. But I think it could have been negotiated in a different manner, frankly."

Frankly, nobody wants your advice, Mr Trump. Is he so vain as to believe his words carry any weight outside of his own echo-chamber?

Peeping_Tom, hahaha. You are not the first one to say that.

Now its "politicians" against the people in the UK. The majority voted to leave and are being ignored. It's time for a military coup to oust these so called peoples' representatives out. They are totally not fit for purpose.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Everybody knew it would be a mess, but people still chose to have it. Too bad !

If it was me, I'm not sure I would give a delay.

There were rules established, it's not the EU's fault if they can't agree. Why would the EU have to make any concessions ?

6 ( +8 / -2 )

President Trump is totally correct in his comments. Well done President Trump! The UK has become a pathetic country and a laughing stock around the world. We need a military coup now.

The majority of the occupied 6 counties voted to stay. Are you happy for the GFA to be put in jeopardy. Will the soldiers be deployed to the streets of Belfast and Derry. How do you think that will play out in light of the one soldier being charged over Bloody Sunday.

He's a pig-ignorant childish bully. So yes, he is vain enough to believe that!

I agree with ironsword.

I certainly think the Queen should intervene now and dissolve the "parliament". She has the power to do so.

Stormfront still down, is it?

She does not have the power to do so. And she wouldn't anyway, she tends to stay out of politics.

17.4 million voters, ignored.

What's the point in having a vote if you don't give a crap?

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

THIS! Bintaro nailed it. I'm British, but I disagree with the path my country has taken. The EU is not responsible for the UK's indecision. They should reject it. Why delay? Delay means that the UK is working for a new deal. It isn't. So the EU is not under any obligation to do anything. Don't extend it. To the UK: In or out? pick a side and roll with it. But leave means leave.

I find it strange that May is adamant that there will not be a second referendum and continually repeats the phrase "the wishes of the British people must be respected". At the same time she keeps bringing her deadbeat deal back to parliament to be voted on again and again: next week it will be back for the third time. Why doesn't May respect the wishes of parliament?

The speaker should block any further votes on May's deal until and unless it is changed in a meaningful way. It's time to put an end to May's contempt of parliament.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

The Will of the People - ha. People who were woefully misinformed, and outright lied to, about what "Brexit" actually means.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

The referendum was the will of people who didn't even know what they were voting on really meant.

That doesn't mean it's still the will of the people. Generally as people become more educated on a matter, their opinions are more likely to change.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The "vill" of the people. Yeah, right!!!

"Brexit: Farmers who backed Leave now regret vote over subsidy fears"

"Parliament warned dropping funding for farming will 'collapse the fabric of rural society'"

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/farmers-brexit-regret-bregret-funding-common-agricultural-policy-a7163996.html

In 2016 roughly 97% of them voted to leave. They deserve everything they're gonna get!

0 ( +4 / -4 )

"People who voted leave had no idea what they were voting for!" - According to people who voted remain/don't want to leave the EU under any circumstances/didn't vote in the referendum.

"Now the British regret their decision!" - According to people who voted remain/don't want to leave the EU under any circumstances/didn't vote in the referendum.

"British people can't make up their minds!" According to.....You get the picture.

Brexiters didn't even consider the Irish border question, which is categorically unsolvable. So the only options are: 1. status quo; 2. NI joining the Republic economically though not politically; 3. NI joining the Republic fully. Naturally there are proponents and opponents of each, but discussing anything else is a complete waste of time (ref: the last 2 1/2 years).

5 ( +5 / -0 )

A delay is not up to UK only - any delay still needs to be approved by all 27 other countries of the EU. But imagine for a moment:

What if one EU Country A decides that UK's dragging their feet is only hurting Country A's economy with all the uncertainty in the business markets - and thus Country A votes against any further delay

Then it's no longer up to UK how it leaves the EU - it'd be a hard Brexit immediately whether the UK likes it or not

The UK people have been betrayed by their own government.
