The drums of war are getting loader.

The Chinese military are only tough when killing their own people; when facing a real adversity (USA) they will fold like a cheap suit. Close all their consulates in the US and kick out all their "students" -- I heard Wuhan U is now accepting students...

4 Chinese nationals who entered the US by lying about their ties to the Chinese military have warrants out. 1 is believed to be hiding in the SF Consulate. The other 3 are being held under J1 VISA fraud charges.

Fighto!
The US has the upper hand here, and are playing Communist China like a violin. As for "retalliation" - all China can realistically do is kick out an equal number of US diplomats from China. Those dipomats would no doubt be delighted to get home and out of such a horrible post!
Communist China is rattled, and will crawl away like a dog with its tail between its legs.

Be skeptical about all of this - Trump knows he is losing massively - and its "wag the dog" time...
He's starting wars in our major cities by sending in federal forces unwanted by local elected officials...
Now he's ramping up tensions with China - or it could all be a "con" with Trump and Xi agreeing to some fake "war" - remember Trump took a knee begging Xi for election help and said he could care less about the Uighur concentration camps.
Xi and Trump are business partners - this may just be their latest deal....

It “MUST”retaliate? Why? For being caught in the act? Now they said they won’t leave if forced? Now if they retaliate and say Americans have to leave and we say we won’t wonder in the Chinese would tolerate that?

totally unacceptable from China, I mean, other respectable countries such as USA would never use their embassies, etc as spy bases...

They can cry a river.

Eh, I don't know. The Chinese were tough adversaries in 1950-53.

Do you understand Asian notions of "face"? If you do then you understand exactly what the Chinese are saying.

There are far worse places to be posted as a diplomat than China. Much worse. Shanghai is an amazing city with fabulous food. Certainly a nicer place than, say, Port Moresby where everyone lives behind concertina due to the gangs (they call "rascals") or Manila to name a couple of the regions garden spots I've spent time in.

The US conducts diplomatic and military espionage against adversary governments. The Chinese organize the bulk of their espionage against private enterprises to steal their intellectual property for profit and often to drive foreign competitors out of business not just in China but in their home country and other markets. The US never spied to gain commercial advantages for US businesses. Do you understand the difference?

There is so much love between asian countries' nationalists.

I assume Xi told him he'd cancel all the contracts with Chinese sweatshop factories that make Trump's clothing line...have to have those jobs to higher-paying Americans then...ouch....
Next Xi will take back all those trademarks he approved for Ivanka's accessory line...

If China wants to be not just a member but a leader of the global community, then stop locking up your own people and sterilizing by force. It’s downright barbaric.
bass4funk
Utter childish nonsense.
But back to the seriousness of the issue, China cannot set demands on anything and no one cares particularly this WH is they threaten to cancel any deal. If they don’t pack up and leave in the next 48 hours we could see force used and I hope it doesn’t come to that because if the rules were reversed, there is no way China would put up or tolerate the US being on their soil if it were in the same position.

Hmmmmm......
Late night television host Jimmy Kimmel went on a shopping spree on the official TrumpStore.com, and found a slew of products made in other countries.
*A white golf hat was made in China, while a Trump mug was made in Thailand. A shoe bag and duffel bag were made in China. A toddler bib he ordered was made in Peru. A Trump collector medallion was made in China. Kimmel also said that two products he ordered — a pet bandanna and a gold block — did not have a country of origin listed on the product or its materials, something that is *illegal.

Trump's PR team (taxpayer funded) and media are providing more ways to distract from Trump's ongoing bungling of the pandemic and his collapsing economy.
The wag the dog probably won't be another invasion: the US military is spread too thin fighting in too many places. And fighting China would further bankrupt the country.
The wag the dog is Trump creating federal forces to attack US civilians. Only a serial conman and reality TV star could think of that.

China "must retaliate"???
They don't have to bother. China has been waging a war on the United States in every which way conceivably possible with the sole exception of an actual armed conflict for at least the last decade. The only thing new about all this is that the U.S. is not going to take it anymore.

Desert Tortoise: "The Chinese were tough adversaries in 1950-53."
According to some estimates 920,000 were wounded and killed, which was substantially higher than the UN forces casualty numbers. The Chinese in those days made the same mistake as the Japanese did at Guadalcanal by attacking well defended positions in human waves. Many of them met a hot Mr. Browning.

Then blame the mayors and governors who were elected by the taxpayers and paid by them to do something, demand that these corrupt politicians reopen the country and stop depending on China
Not from Trump. He wants to bring the troops home and for some strange reason, Nancy thinks we should stay there, why?
That riot, loot, shooting and killing cops, and children, destroying public property dismantling our country and culture. I hope the Feds prosecute every last one of them. This is good!
.
Strangerland
Yeah, but whatever you do, DO NOT blame the guy elected as the actual leader of the land, who is paid for by them to do something. Right?
Yeah, but whatever you do, DO NOT demand that this corrupt politician do what is right for his country and stop his companies from depending upon China for their manufacturing. Right?
Halwick
That's right. Now China has found a more effective way to wage war against the United States and its allies: Germ warfare aka Covid-19. Look what it has done throughout the world. No need to resort to armed conflict or use weapons of destruction against the U.S.

You posted on this very website that you hoped that the republic would come to an end.

Embassies are expected to be 50% spies. The problem here is active PRC military using J1 VISAs to attend US Universities getting placed into sensitive majors.
How many active US Military members are in China, attending University for high-tech, pharmaceutical and biological studies? That's what is happening.
Or are those "detained Canadian businessmen" US agents?

The CCP has long needed an effective reckoning. I hope my country gets more intelligent and focused leadership to effectively deal with and take the CCP to account for it's behavior. China has so much potential being wasted by a regime of cronies consumed with maintaining power for themselves and believing they can completely "control" their own citizens.
