No, what I do is read the article, identify who is collaborating the story and look for evidence. Based on that I decide if I feel it’s accurate or not.

I assume you're referring to articles that aren't totally damning of Trump. I've never "snarked" anything of the sort. To me that's a sign that their purpose might actually be to objectively report the facts. It's hardly their fault if the facts aren't ones you like.

Also, about CrowdStrike.

Trump mentioned them in the call to President Zelenskiy. The are a US-based company who researched the hack to DNC servers. CrowdStrike theorists believe that the hard drives still exist, and CrowdStrike, funded and started by a wealthy Ukrainian (it wasn't), sent them to the Ukraine. The Ukraine then released the emails and tricked the world into believing it was the Russians.

President Trump was asking the President of the Ukraine to "get to the bottom of this."

I have to wonder if Putin planted that seed.

William Taylor has dedicated his whole life to serving the US in both military and civilian roles. He was a cadet at West Point. It’s not easy to get into Army. These guys get all A’s in high school and are recommended by Senators. He not only attended the US Military Academy at West Point but also served 6 years as an infantry officer and was with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. He then went on to the JFK School of Government at Harvard for his Master’s degree. To just call him “Bill” is a cute but profane way of expression and shows a lack of good breeding defective in good taste.

Who has more credibility, the President or the Ambassador?

The poor career diplomats tasked to do Trump's dirty work are the ones who deserve pity. All are turning on Trump and are willing to testify, regardless of consequences. It's only a matter of time before his Senate wall crumbles.

Everyone called before the inquiry committee, to include Taylor today, stated it was all a shakedown...

This is clear abuse of authority - and let's get all the Repubs in the Senate on record when they vote during the impeachment trial - if they subvert their integrity and Constitution and say no to conviction, vote them all out in 2020.

It's just an insane read. Taylor spells out the players and the two channels working, one the legitimate channel through the Taylor and a second side channel which included Giuliani and quid pro quo.

Some parts:

Trump held up the aid personally, and he refused to give an explanation, leaving the Ambassador with no explanation, so everyone was in the dark. Mix in meetings with the side channel, Sonland and Pence and others, who just keep hammering away at the importance for the Ukrainian President to publicly announce investigations into Burisma (Biden) and the conspiracy theory about Russia being wrongly accused of election interference.

The Ukrainians constantly ask about the aid and the legitimate channel has no answers and the side channel won't say why. It's just on hold. Trump requests the Pentagon review the aid and voice any concerns, and they sent their conclusion back the next day: None. Send the aid.

The two channels sit in the same meeting with completely different goals, one looking for investigations and one looking for aid, and the Ukrainians have no idea what to think. Bolton is in one of the meetings, sees what's happening, and immediately ends the meeting. He's not a big fan of Giuliani.

Two of Trump's people carefully explain to Taylor, using the same story, that Trump is a businessman. A businessman doesn't write checks unless he gets what he's owed. Taylor tells them that makes no sense at all.

They say specific things like, "It's not quid pro quo, but if we don't reach an agreement on these announcements then we might have a stalemate." Soooooooo what happens in a stalemate?

It goes on for 15 pages.

What a president! Here's poor Ukraine under Putin's heel, and Trump is doing his best to screw things up for this fledgling democracy. Disgraceful!
