What is more damning for this ex-cop, is her lack of assistance to this young man after she shot him. She carried first aid as part of her equipment, yet failed to administer it and her first phone call was to her boyfriend, not a request for an ambulance. That in itself, reveals her lack of empathy and her gross sense of self-preservation. I hope she is sentenced in an appropriate manner.

far too short a sentence IMO

I wondered how this would be murder, and not manslaughter, but the end of the article cleared that up:

In cross-examination, Assistant District Attorney Jason Hermus asked her, "When you shot him twice, you intended to kill him, didn't you?"

"I did," Guyger responded, in a calm voice.

With the intent, I guess it makes it murder.

The problem with women police, like Guyger, is that because of their greater physical weakness when confronted by a man they resort to shooting more quickly than a male policeman would. Gender diversity quotas killed Jean.

Hope she rots.

10 yrs for murdering a man in his own home, even if he is illegally smoking pot, doesn't seem like long enough.

2 careless accidents, one by each person. If either didn't happen, Bo would be alive.

Absolutely outrageous. Sentenced for 10 years and probably out in 7. For walking into somebody else's apartment and shooting them to death.

"I'm sooooo sorrrry, but I walked into the wrong apartment and I was so scared!"

This doesn't smell right from at all.

Pretty light sentence for murder, if you ask me. She was an LEO, and should have exhibited the responsibility and care as one. In this case, she didn't. Heck, I've heard of people getting stricter sentences for smoking pot or carrying around drugs in the U.S.

The message this sends is that even in your own home, you're not safe from law enforcement. Police officers now can expect light sentences if they ever murder innocent people.

The fact that she called for an ambulance as a second call and then failed to do any sort of first aid, condemns her in my book and she deserve the 10 years and more.

The fact that Bo's family is satisfied, means I will accept this result and shut up about it.
