Correct. Vulture oil corporations have their nation's militaries and even their own private militias fighting for shares of another nation's resources. This includes 'western' and Gulf nations, Turkey, China, among others.
I've read several of the Russian Federation's state controlled oil and gas corporations are there, backed by one of the Federation's mercenary forces. (check Yandex/Google)
