It is beyond understanding how anyone with any sense of morality or humanity could argue passionately about hanging on so tightly to their guns in the face of the thousands of innocent lives lost every year due to gun violence. It's useless to try to reason with those kinds of people or even take their arguments seriously because they are irrational zealots.

There you go. Because they are “irrational zealots” you needn’t try to understand them.

I don’t own a gun. I don’t want one. I’m rather afraid of them. Here in Japan, I’m sure I don’t need one.

However, some of those who “argue passionately” just want the option to defend themselves and their families. Police can’t defend, they respond. Gun owners know this. They know they may be the only barrier between a shooter and their families. Now go and tell them to hand in their weapons. Good luck.

No, not even if someone takes out Trump, ...

Okay. I’ll ask. To dinner? At the Red Hen perchance? No, not such a good choice.

It's useless to try to reason with those kinds of people or even take their arguments seriously because they are irrational zealots. They cling to the 2nd Amendment as if it were the word of God. There is no hope for the evolution of their thought. They do not evolve. But, society does, and the 2nd Amendment is not the word of God. It will change someday, or some other course of action may present itself. Sadly, many more people will die in the meantime, maybe even someone you know or love. Reasonable people must continue to speak out and protest against this stain on America. “Dripping water hollows out stone, not through force but through persistence.”

I don’t see the logic of criticizing those who criticize of the press.

If he wants to criticize them for focusing only on his faults, he might have a point. But when he actively tries to discredit them, especially for calling him out on his demonstrable lies, it's dangerous. He setting his more gullible supporters to distrust any future (possibly criminal) news about him. He's already got people repeating his "fake news" mantra.

All news organizations funded by corporations are biased toward those corporations, but they aren't fake. They're not perfect, but you can still sift out the truth in their information, and some of their information can only be gathered by organizations with their established reputations (access), clout, and funding.

another mass shooting with toxic masculinity as its driving force....

"The case for controlling guns increases every time there's a mass shooting. But will it ever prevail?

No, not even if someone takes out Trump, because of the American mindset. Still, that's a thought though!"

So, Tony, what you're saying is you relish the thought of the president of the United States being assassinated. Keep it classy, OK?

Just repeal the 2nd Amendment, and then start the process for getting the guns out of society. Simple. Logical.

You just really don’t understand how this works, right?

So, you admit the only purpose of guns is to kill. No other purpose. None. Knives, which you frequently deflect to, are meant to be used as cutting tools. So, unless you're planning on starting to use your guns in place of kitchen utensils, you can stop throwing out that useless and tired argument, because everyone knows it is just an excuse.

No, it not an excuse. I use gun as a hunting tool and if you or Other libs don’t

That yours are pointless. There's a reason why there are tens of thousands of gun deaths in the US per year and not elsewhere: guns.

Senator Scalise was almost murdered by a deranged liberal that hated Republicans, were it not for his security staff that were carrying their concealed weapons and returning fire killing the guy, Scalise would be dead, so you can make the counter argument guns indeed “do help and save lives.”

Yes, in much the same way one of these murderers, if caught by police instead of killed or killing themselves, would say, "The police treat me harshly!" Trump deserves every bit of what he gets, but the only thing is that it is not unfair at all.

And that’s why Griffin and Zucker are frustrated that they can never get the audience of FNC. They Keep focus only on one demographic.

You care far more about your 24 guns than you do a single life taken by gun shootings,

Opposite, that’s why I’m a NRA member and support the 2nd amendment.

or would you give them all up if one of those lives could be saved? You wouldn't, and you know it.

If I could save one life by having one in a dire situation then not having one. Sorry, you’re making a straw man argument, I’ll counter every argument with an opposing viewpoint. You at guns in a completely negative view, I look at them in a positive and important view.

So, you're cheering about the gun-nutters' rights to keep carrying out these massacres, and that's why your "I sympathize and feel sorry" comments have no truth to them

I feel sorry for liberals as well as you Europeans as yourself because you guys think you know and understand how many of us Americans feel when it comes to the 2nd amendment and that’s ok. No one can tell me how I should feel or what is in my heart. I do feel bad and sympathize for the families of the deceased, but their deaths just reconfirm my resolve that supporting the NRA is the best decision I made.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

@MrBum: Why does Trump seem to hate the 1st amendment with his hatred of the press?

I don’t see the logic of criticizing those who criticize of the press. The media does not have a monopoly on free speech. Some here are trying to make the argument that Trump has less right to harshly criticize Leftists in the media than the Leftist media to go after Trump. Political speech is protected for all - not just those in the media calling Trump a fascist and Hitler - as inflammatory and dangerous as that sort of rhetoric may be - especially one year after a loony Leftist attempted to murder a baseball team of Republicans.

Trump has every right to use similarly harsh language towards the press as they use towards him. That’s not the issue. Whether a president should talk like that is another matter.

The press has had a free reign to say all sorts of outrageous things about Republicans and until Trump and they have mostly sat back and took the abuse. A large part of Trumps appeal is that he doesn’t put up with the elitist Lefts condescension and feigned moral superiority. Conservatives have been blatantly disrespected by the press for decades. In a lot of ways, the press has a hand in the fact that Trump is president today.

"Just repeal the 2nd Amendment"

Nah, we want to keep our right to bear arms and not have just the criminals and the police/government have guns.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Do you use guns to cut your food? To chop vegetables?

No, I use it to kill game.

Gun nuts have been using this red herring for ages, and it never flies. Almost as moronic as:

"if it wouldn’t have been the guns, it would’ve been something else."

It’s true, if someone wants to hurt you, they will find a way, they do it in Europe all the time.

Yup, every... what... three or four days when there's a mass shooting?

Has nothing to do with me.

Or just the daily tens of shootings? Which ones are you talking about? or both? You realize "every time" is pretty much every day, and ONLY in the US, right?

So what’s your point?

But then gun nutters and logic never go together, which is why guns should be removed from the equation. Take away the these tools used for mass destruction, and you just have the tools that would use them, left.

Again, that won’t happen, the left can complain as much as they want, the 2nd amendment isn’t going anywhere.

Even the President LITERALLY ran away from questions on this today, because he knows full well his rhetoric towards the media and cowardice about sticking to his comments on gun control are part of the public and doesn't want to address anyway one it. Later he'll cry to FOX about how everyone's "unfair" to him the wake of this mass shooting that claimed yet another huge group of lives thanks to guns.

He’s right about how the media treats him, but if you want to see real cries of desperation, now that we will have a conservative court, not only will we retain the 2nd amendment, but I love watching the left have a complete meltdown.

Bass, you constantly bang on about your Second Amendment like it's some sort of licence to go all John Wayne and strap on a gun.

Trust me, when I shoot deer or quail, they’re not packin’

It's an archaic piece of 18th century regulation that needs either repealing or overhauling for life in the 21st century.

Well, that won’t happen, so we really don’t need to entertain that silly thought.

Yup. He could have done the EXACT same thing with a water noodle, an easy-bake oven, a sack of tangerines, 200 grams of fake eye-lashes, or even armed with toilet brushes in both hands!

Maxine Waters has never called for violence against any politician.

“If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd, and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

So how will they push me back? Will they ask me? Beg me? Will they say it politely the way she does. How will these people block me if I want to eat somewhere, if they say NO, you can’t come in and if I push my way through, what will happen? That comment of course is advocating violence, sorry, you can say whatever you want and dim people can buy it, but I don’t and almost no one does.

It is absolutely sickening that you would exploit a tragedy where real people died just to further a transparently deceitful partisan agenda.

I do feel bad for any innocent person that gets shot, but I know the left like clockwork always tries to politicize the issue to go on their abolish the 2nd amendment jihad and I’m so sick of it. It’s just not going to happen, especially now with the SC changing, the left just have to swallow it and deal with it.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

No, it’s not politically expedient for Democrats to talk about their policy failures.

You guys only mention gang violence in Democratic states, but it occurs everywhere there’s poverty, including Red states. You don’t hear about black on black crime there either, do you?

It’s much easier to shift the anger and rage towards illegals

Dems are angry at illegals? That’s a new one.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Would have had a hard job killing five people that way. Probably why he chose to use a gun instead.

Ok, back to reality. The 2nd amendment is what makes me smile.

You answer your own question. Things that are endless are not newsworthy.

No, it’s not politically expedient for Democrats to talk about their policy failures. It’s much easier to shift the anger and rage towards illegals, Democrats don’t care about Blacks, never did, but they do want and need their votes and Blacks are a reliable voting block for the left. Hispanics on the other hand, they massively need their votes, they can get them in by the thousands, through chain migration give them unlimited entitlements you have a few hundred New Democratic voters.

But why would the news not report on that? Because it would expose the left for what they really are.

Even this kind of mass-shooting is becoming little more than a statistic (154 so far this year, and we aren't even half-way through yet). Not really news, unless you're personally and directly involved.

The media could care less if Black gangs in Chicago kill each other, just keep the focus on Trump and to be honest, Trump saved CNN and all those pundits, why would they give up their cash cow. He’s a ratings cold mine for them.

Being able to kill Bambi is apparently way more important than stopping this kind of sickness.

Sad as it is, I can’t change it.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

America is cursed by guns. It is America's destiny. More tragedies would come in the future.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I wonder why the endless black on black killings in Chicago, Baltimore, etc, never make the JT news?

I was wondering when this tired deflection would get dragged out.

To answer your question, it's because less people care. I'm sure the black communities in those cities want more media exposure, but news organizations make money when people watch or click on their stories. The sad truth is people seem to care less about black lives. It's almost like they think they don't matter...

Like so many things, it has nothing to do with a globalist agenda, it's about money.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

if it wouldn’t have been the guns, it would’ve been something else.

Yeah, he could have sprayed the newsroom with hair lotion, or confetti, or air freshener, or drawing pins.

Mmmm.

Some folks eat sleep and breath GOP propaganda, fanaticism, and rhetoric. They're total sheep for Hannity and Faux news. If you shut down critical thinking skills, you don't go beyond the filth that spews from their partisan monkey mouths.

Trump stated, ""My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families...."

And we all know just how much T&P is worth in this era, it shows he cares just about as much as he always does, which is really not at all. They probably didn't write favorable articles about him.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

I wonder why the endless black on black killings in Chicago, Baltimore, etc, never make the JT news?

Probably because it's not a "white guy" and they don't want to offend the delicate sensibilities of the globalists. Yes, anyone who would want to disarm law abiding citizens is a globalist. They probably wake up every morning and take off their Star Trek pajamas stepping out their 23rd century fantasy and back into the real world, then jump on their keyboard to give us lucky people the benifit of their fantasyland.

Run, Maxine, run! Waters in 2020!

Oh yes, please run.

Full Bulworth!

I think you missed the point of the movie. Waters is not speaking truth to corporate power, like Bullworth, she's just screaming in front of the cameras for her side. Like a football coach.

Try using a bow and arrow. Check out Ted Nugent's website. He has plenty of information about it.

But I’m not good at it, so there goes that idea.

Now if you were stranded in a wilderness with no hope for survival other than shooting squirrels for a meal I could perhaps understand... but not in modern America.

Ok, I understand, that’s your personal opinion, I have a different one.

Back to the main story and here we have yet another example of a country's paranoia leading to the deaths of innocent people. Paranoia? Yes... why else should a nation's population arm themselves? Turn their homes into fortresses... and even carry side arms openly? It's crazy.

Over exaggeration, when someone is killed in Europe by knife, we don’t freak out. Anyone, the left can complain as much as they want, I just want to make sure they don’t get anywhere near the 2nd amendment.

The easy access to guns, in this case a shotgun and smoke grenades (because everyone needs smoke grenades of course) and unhinged people will only keep this cycle of murder going.

Well, the guy is clearly unhinged, but 98% of law abiding gun owners are not like that.

America needs to address this... and yes, ban the general public from owning a weapon unless they have a compelling reason. Self defence isn't a compelling reason.

Wait!!! Frost you guys wanted to ban the AR-15 and said, No one wants to take our guns away, now you guys want to take the shot guns as well? So once again, the left reneges on what they previously said and that’s why I would never trust a liberal when it comes to the 2nd amendment.

What's the phrase: those who don't learn from the past are destined to repeat it.

Liberals should take that to heart!

America clearly hasn't learned anything.

We did, don’t elect Democrats, bad for your health.

*He loves anything Rupert Murdoch tells him to love. *

No, not at all. Again, this is the kind of crap the lift spews every single time, every president wants to have some sort of positive opinions from people and from pendants, but the left media is over 97% negative and they won’t give this president not even an inch of positive news where as the conservatives give him both praise and also harsh criticism when he does something that is out of line, at Fox not everyone is on the Trump train, that much is a fact.

And curiously he's never ranted against said in any of Putin's many global media outlets.

Is that important? The last administration didn’t complain about Al Jazeera.

And Trump's pals with Alex Jones. Among others.

And? The left are friends with Michael Moore and Jimmy Kimmel, oh and I forgot Kathy Griffin.

It’s not only about being killed, I’m a hunter, so how I can hunt without a gun?

Try using a bow and arrow. Check out Ted Nugent's website. He has plenty of information about it.

It’s the guns they love. Bows and arrows just don’t stir the loins in the same way. They also take a fair bit of physical strength. I tried using a powerful one in the past and it shamed me into doing a bit more exercise.

I prefer the people who just state they love guns. I’ve always respected Bass on this topic. He’ll tell you straight about loving guns. If more people had this level of honesty, the conversation could start from a more honest place.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Law-abiding citizens won't "suffer" because you take their guns away. Comparing them to people living with a relatively high risk and fear of being gunned down is ridiculous, it's false equivalence. Some hunters might be inconvenienced at best, but that is not suffering.

Hunting in the 21st century, in a modern first world country is a hobby - you clearly enjoy killing as a hobby. Nuff said. Now if you were stranded in a wilderness with no hope for survival other than shooting squirrels for a meal I could perhaps understand... but not in modern America.

It hurts your argument when you can’t correctly identify the President of the United States by his name and also when you use an article from 2014.point is Trump (and Milo) has nothing to do with this. The killer has a long standing grievance with these people. So that a fact and an explanation, not simply excusing him because of the color of his skin.

In fact, CNN found it necessary to put an on screen graphic at the bottom which said “white male suspect in custody”. They would never have put that if he were a minority.

Please no more distractions or going off topic to win a debate. Your claim has been proven to be illogical. It is what it is. Rational gun laws could help to reduce the number of mass shootings in the US, but resistance mostly from the right is making it hard to achieve, and rhetoric mostly from Dump and FOX are galvanizing people to act out in violent and inhumane ways. The common thread is that they often support both Dump and FOX because these people believe the lies of Dump and FOX.

I didn’t need a whole lecture on gun control. You said guns keep “white people” on top and I simply said I wasn’t aware gun ownership was restricted to “white people”. Maybe it was in the 1800s but it’s not now.

I understand that you don't like to read! :) But, you also said:

if the Trump administration is all the things liberals claim, we all need to keep our guns. Or it’s made up liberal nonsense and we are safe to disarm and leave guns to only the government personnel. Which is it?

Which is an illogical argument. You would know that if you read more or more carefully.

By the way, everytime a minority commits a crime like this, the hosts on FOX news the channel the Dump supports believe that their constitutional rights should be forfeited, but when it is a White male who does this they believe that the media and the public need to understand that they had a valid reason for the crime. Therefore, it is unfair not recognize the criminals personal pain.

Maybe because any other country in the world doesn't need to teach young children to not play with guns they can find all over the place ?...

Minorities aren’t allowed to have guns now? And when the government takes over and does all the Nazi things liberals claim anyone who wants to be exempt just claims to be on their side? That’s illogical.

if the Trump administration is all the things liberals claim, we all need to keep our guns. Or it’s made up liberal nonsense and we are safe to disarm and leave guns to only the government personnel. Which is it?

Why are you debating a claim that no one here has made? You should keep the illogical strawman arguments to yourself. The fact of the matter gun control laws have shifted throughout the US's history to keep White men on top. The founding fathers believed that the power should stay in the hands of educated, landowning, English white males of adult age. The militias main purpose was to squash slave rebellions. The laws after the Civil war (JIm Crow) also made it hard AA to own guns as well as Native Americans. The original gun laws were made to disarm slaves, freedman, and African Americans.

NRA with Ronald Reagan supported stricter gun laws when the Black Panthers decided to become law abiding open carry gun-owners. They were legally licensed gun owners in a state that allowed open carry.

https://www.history.com/news/black-panthers-gun-control-nra-support-mulford-act

Once the Black Panther political movement was non existent and one of their White NRA members that held an office in the organization was shot then they wanted the same laws that the Black Panthers fought to have. Yet Philandro Castile a law abiding AA was licensed and followed the officer's directions was wrongfully killed, and the NRA didn't speak up in his defense at all.

When the NRA Supported Gun Control

http://time.com/4431356/nra-gun-control-history/

Most rational people aren't against the 2nd Amendment. They just want to discuss how to make guns safer - registering, background checks, maybe getting rid of automatic weapons and equal access for all law-abiding Americans. Even most gun owners want that.

The cost off the gun violence works out at $1500 pa for every single citizen.

And perhaps more importantly takes resources away from other areas. Infrastructure? (Roads, bridges, clean water, etc.) Mental health? The opioid crisis? The US is falling apart in so many ways.

So you can read m mind now?

It's thanks to people like yourself this was allowed to happen: the gun nutters.

I did nothing and bear no responsibility to what other people do.

This happens so often in the US people just aren't surprised anymore, until maybe it happens to them physically.

You can make that argument about anything.

They shouldn't be, though. They allowed it. There are easy fixes to this kind of thing, bass, but you don't want them.

I do, but not as long as it involves shredding the 2nd amendment.

How many guns do you and your father have gain?

Irrelevant

Sorry, but this is no surprise to those of us who know guns are the problem, and you jumping in with the obvious stating of that being a problem (intended or not) doesn't negate the fact that it is.

The guns are not the problem, I think we need more mental asylum‘s we need to reinstate the mental facilities and commit more people that have mental or behavioral problems.

You can say, "I told you people would blame guns", but it's far more poignant to point at the bodies and say, "yet again".

I understand, but if it wouldn’t have been the guns, it would’ve been something else. The guy was on a serious mission

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Why does the Left hate the 1st and 2nd Amendments so much?

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

In the above picture I count more than 30 people who I assume are government emergency responders. No doubt there were many more on scene. No doubt there were many more public employees in offices who'd been directly involved in this massacre. Then there are the people in hospitals tending those wounded.

All these valuable public employees NOT being able to help local citizens in other areas because of the attention that had to be devoted to this gunman's massacre.

I'm happy the people of Annapolis are so well served by their local emergency responders.

But it's sad they and other Americans have to pay so much in their taxes to cover gun crimes - of all sorts. And gun crowd: please don't even think about comparing guns to cars.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Either with a gun or somthing else, sadly, people were going to die.

It wasn't something else. It was a gun. But yes, as long as the selfish death cult of the NRA holds sway and as long as its selfish members continue to bleat about their rights to let children, workers, journos and concert-goers be shot to pieces... people are going to die.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Your own fault America for having such stupid gun laws.

Bad news for the world, but good news for the Gun manufacturer who drives the world!

You and me has nothing to do but make comments here, unfortunate poor people, RIP

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I don't blame him, tbh. But let's be realistic, America is full of decent, warm, welcoming people - many of whom are villified because they don't want this violence, they don't wish to buy into the sickness that seems endemic within the gun society.

And the counter argument is, that there are many people that enjoy the freedom that they have decent and law abiding citizens that cherish the Second Amendment I want to be able to have the right to protect his family, or to go hunting or even collect if they want to and they have to write in destiny to do that and many people don’t trust a government and don’t feel that the government has adequate means an enough resources to protect them. The rights of the second amendment should never be abolished.

It's time for the decent people to push back against the tide of madness.

At least we can agree on something.

A terrorist, with access to guns? A lone wolf? A disturbed young man? A person with a grudge? Someone who took the villification of the press as a call to arms?

Either with a gun or somthing else, sadly, people were going to die.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Minorities aren’t allowed to have guns now? And when the government takes over and does all the Nazi things liberals claim anyone who wants to be exempt just claims to be on their side? That’s illogical.

if the Trump administration is all the things liberals claim, we all need to keep our guns. Or it’s made up liberal nonsense and we are safe to disarm and leave guns to only the government personnel. Which is it?

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

What amazes and saddens me is the attitude of some.... "Don't take away my guns". Pretty petty, childish and selfish in my opinion. Offer prayers and thoughts, but no actions that have any substance. You might need it for hunting, and that is fine, no arguments there. But, do you need and AR-15? Hardly. Those that claim to want to protect their loved ones, and offer prayers and thoughts, really don't care that much at all. Losing your 'toy' is so much more important than others losing their lives.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

You are afraid to live in America?

Hard to tell. But until the root cause is addressed, this is yet another tragic statistic to be thought and prayed about. And that's as willing as some are to deal with it.

Trump is literally Hitler, right? Cops are racist, the government is corrupt and ICE is deporting people illegally and putting children in “concentration camps”.

Yet you want everyone to give up their personal guns?

Your illogical argument is rooted in the fact that your examples listed above are the same people who wants give everyone not a minority guns, power, and freedom.

Just like you, the same people who are committing these heinous crimes agree with the same people above .

Probably the same same way before the advent of guns, using skill.

Another day, another shooting. Bla bla bla.......yawn...

US law makers don't seem to care about Americans, and their safety. I think part of the problem is the culture rooted deep into every US citizen about the need for gun ownership and holding on to an ancient 2nd amendment that no longer serves any purpose in this modern era.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

This is the 154th mass shooting in the US this year.

So far, none of them have been perpetrated by women immigrants from Central America with their children...

@rawbeerovich Unfortunately, nobody among the newsroom staff was armed.

Interesting how the guy had no ID and he altered his finger prints. Hmmm...

And if one had been armed, perhaps more innocents would have been shot. The 'good' guy with a gun can just as easily be a bad guy.

Do you recognize altering fingerprints as a FSB / SVR technique? Hmmm...

Meanwhile, darling of the alt-right Milo has something to say

Ok, so we both agree, Milo and Waters are out of line. Good to know.

I'm not saying it. Statistics say it. The fact that people do fine in countries with no guns says it. You simply don't need a gun in modern society,

But because the 2nd amendment I can own on.

so why should people have to worry about being killed over another group's unnecessary indulgence?

It’s not only about being killed, I’m a hunter, so how I can hunt without a gun?

So what's it going to take for them to be properly enforced? It's up to the pro-gun side to fix this problem. If you can't do it, you can see why the other side would want to just get rid of them right? Again, why should law abiding citizens who don't want guns have to put up with this s***?

OK, so why do law abiding citizens have to suffer because of some idiot and have the second amendment rights taken away and how many of them have to put up with this crap?

And please don't hide behind the 2nd amendment, because when interpreted properly as it used to be, it's not a pro-gun amendment, it's a pro-milita amendment.

I’m sorry, that’s a weak argument, I have that right and I will exercise that right and no one will tell me any different, I don’t care how liberals feel about it and I’m not going to put up with them trying to take my rights away I will keep my guns and I will use them as I see fit, I don’t break the law I have a clean record, I am a responsible person, I’m allowed to have them and it doesn’t matter if it’s protect my family or hunting or for collecting, the second amendment allows me to do that.

You idiots against the NRA don't seem to know that the NRA has more gun safety programs than any other organization in the world. They start with young children being taught to not touch guns (Eddie Eagle) and call an adult to report any found. They are instrumental in helping the military and police set up marksmanship and training programs like the CMP. The problem is with the Democrats and liberals who do all the shooting and killing.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

Again, why should law abiding citizens who don't want guns have to put up with this s***?

and why should law abiding citizens who do want guns be prevented from defending themselves.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

The news in the US is that two were killed and 3 wounded. The police got him and had to use computer facial recognition to identify the shooter as he damaged his fingers to avoid ID fingerprints. He seems to have used a shotgun.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

I’m sorry, but who are you to say or determine what “a false protection is or what isn’t?”

I'm not saying it. Statistics say it. The fact that people do fine in countries with no guns says it. You simply don't need a gun in modern society, so why should people have to worry about being killed over another group's unnecessary indulgence?

We already have strict laws on the books, like our immigration laws, they just need to be more property enforced.

So what's it going to take for them to be properly enforced? It's up to the pro-gun side to fix this problem. If you can't do it, you can see why the other side would want to just get rid of them right? Again, why should law abiding citizens who don't want guns have to put up with this s***?

5 ( +7 / -2 )

The shooter, according to sources I've read, has been id-ed. He's a white male said to have had a long-standing grudge with the outlet.

The dynamics leading to yet another gun massacre are complex, but one thing this one had in common with all others is a PERSON WITH A GUN slaughtered innocents.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

The NRA should be treated as a criminal organisation. It's surely about time to crackdown on the gun worshippers.

How many more deaths will it take? 50? 500? 5000? 50,000?

Americans are killing other Americans at home. That's a fact.

You're right. And no matter how many travel bans and looming walls and interned kids, American citizens will still be the number one cause of mayhem and terrorism. Not to mention huge spikes in suicide, drug overdoses, and overall reductions in life-expectancy.

However, you lose me when you say things like this:

Let the Americans kills each other, it's part of their culture and rights.

B/C such a blithe dismissal of mass murder seems a bit harsh, don't you think? Or that your thoughts and prayers (and no doubt your empathy) has a far more worthy object, a soccer ball.

Some Trump supporter who wanted to get rid of the fake news people? RIP to those victims. I'm afraid this will happen in a school again sometime soon. America never learns.

@bass4funk

That was in reference towards the MSM and how bias they are.

That was according to Dump, who has been called a liar by his own legal team. Dump also said that it is ok to lie to the public because it is not infront of a high court.

He should never be your or anyone's evidence for a logical argument.

For now, the Annapolis shooting is being treated as a local incident and not one that involves terrorism, a law enforcement official said. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is on the scene assisting local authorities, the official said.

Why don't they call a spade a spade? He is a terrorist, but Fox and the NRA will spin it as a mental problem because it will most likely be a white male with strong conservative views like most of their base

@wolfp Ah geez - that didn’t take long.

Perhaps that's because Trump's daily, hostile attacks on a free, for-profit process does wind up some of his more 'emotionally vulnerable' followers? As history has shown, cults of personality can have strange effects on cult members and other true believers.

But if your point is wait and see what the free, for-profit press reports the police have determined, then I too think we should wait.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

It would seem that, no matter how many cowardly mass-shootings happen in the US, there is no way they will ever change the gun laws. In fact, it’s akready too late. This is why so many politicians support giving more guns to people. It’s the old, “If you can’t beat them, join them.” scenario. Sadly, mass-shootings are just going to continue in the US with the logic of ‘I need a gun to protect myself from other people with guns’. Hooorah!

@bas4 Very sad, but

the 'but' negates all said before. Unless you were going to say 'but boom boom (picture Trump with his finger gun chasing after the shooter who's firing a semi-automatic) sounds like freedom to me'.

RIP innocent victims. Condolences to your families and friends. Hopefully all injured will fully heal, at least physically.

Thank you to all emergency responders and all involved in serving the public at all levels for all you do and have done in situations like this.

Sorry that government services are once again being used to deal with another gun crime. Sorry taxpayers that once again you're stuck picking up the tab.

How much do gun crimes cost taxpayers?

6 ( +7 / -1 )

No one so far has addressed the elephant in the room- what if this shooter was motivated by Trump's endless anti-media rhetoric?

Or by Maxine Waters rhetoric?

It's been a useful political tool for Trump,

And for Maxine and Hollywood as well, egged on by the media.

but when the president says something, we need to realize it can have real world consequences.

as with Waters, the media and Hollywood.

-27 ( +2 / -29 )

Terrible for the victims. I will make no speculation on motive now as I think within a few days we will at least have some hints as to what his motive was. Also his age (25) indicates a higher probability he was using SSRI's, which not 100% of previous mass shooters have been using but a high percentage (probably high enough to establish a causal relationship).

The sad part is as an American living overseas this did not "phase me" so much. Like others posted above....oh....another one......

Not a good thing.....

No one so far has addressed the elephant in the room- what if this shooter was motivated by Trump's endless anti-media rhetoric? It's been a useful political tool for Trump, but when the president says something, we need to realize it can have real world consequences.

Huge obvious disclaimer: we don't know the shooter's intentions. It could have been random, or some personal issue. But I can guarantee every reporter that's seen an incendiary Trump rally has thought about their own personal safety at some point.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Liberals? Would prefer "Human" guess the "Right" would not be classified as human more a meat sack absorbing gun company money. So it's OK and American to take money in exchange for putting school kids in danger, workers in danger. Wooooho USA. whoops I might be invaded for that.
