Speed times mass is momentum. China has the momentum, as simple as that.

So seems what Trump did worked. Again. That’s why there are no comments here.

citing trade talk progress

Which can probably be translated from trumpspeak as; A new trump hotel in China, concessions for his daughter’s line in clothing etc, etc

It’s unfortunate for Trump that there is no Noble category for Accomplishing Nothing and Claiming Victory.

Trump is going to get rolled by both Kim and Xi, but he will still declare victory.

Don't expect praise to be forthcoming if you request praise be forthcoming.

Catch the video of Trump - leader of the free world - being completely zonked by the term Memorandum Of Understanding.

The funniest thing though was, he never realized his mistake and misunderstanding and thought - "Well now I've solved that problem".

Meanwhile everyone incl the Chinese just were puzzled or smirked / laughed.

An Economics 001 fail. SHould be compulsory viewing in all business study courses.

When Trump gets a good deal, Dems and the MSM will praise the Obama economy.

The announcement was the clearest sign yet that China and the United States are closing in on a deal to end a months-long trade war that has slowed global growth and disrupted markets.

Two dictators carving up the world between them.

This is not a good thing, despite the lame spin by some.

Two dictators carving up the world between them.

Trump's not a dictator. If he was, the wall would have been finished by now and every Democrat and RINO would have been booted out of Congress and Hillary would be in jail. Damn, I'm starting to think we need a dictator, hehe

Trump's not a dictator. If he was, the wall would have been finished by now

And Mexico would have paid?

At the very least, he's a purveyor of lies and empty promises.

Damn, I'm starting to think we need a dictator, hehe

Starting?

Trump played it right again.

Hence the abscence of the usual anti-Trump pile-on here.

And Mexico would have paid?

Not only that they would have built it!

Not only that they would have built it!

But, here in the real world, that was unlikely to happen.

Why do Trumpists support this man's lies and empty promises?

Too bad Trump's predecessors never brought the Chinese table to tackle the issue of why it was ok for the communist state to impose steep tariffs on a vast range of US imports, while the US even hinting at tariffs on Chinese products was considered outrageous and unacceptable.

And why it the globalization world order thought it fine for US multinationals to hand over their intellectual property to powerful communist state-owned firms.

What will Trump be giving away this time?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

The White House did not provide specific details on the kind of progress that had been made. China's official Xinhua news agency reported that the two sides made "substantial progress" on specific issues, citing the Chinese delegation in Washington.

It's because Xi agreed to go and spend money in Mar-a-Lago.

What will Trump be giving away this time?

What did he give away last time? Checking...

Nothing! Give it up, Super.

It's because Xi agreed to go and spend money in Mar-a-Lago.

Yeah, right.

Well we know Trump won't be doing his part to lower the trade deficit by bringing his manufacturing back from China.

In fact, I'm betting his fans will cheer him when he hires more Chinese. How about you, Serrano? Do you love it when Trump manufactures overseas? I bet you do....

If Trump wasn’t winning this why did the Chinese stock market just have it’s best day in 3 years when agreed to to stop doing what he was doing?

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Trump sold rice to China. Liberals still give him no credit. 1.13 metric TONS of soybeans. Still nothing. No credit at all.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Tell me you support Trump manufacturing in China, black. Trump before America.

Bingo

Old fashioned Stick & Carrot approach.

The U.S. is by far the largest absorber of Chinese goods. Trump knows this and put pressure on China with the tariffs, and has already gotten concessions from China, heck they blinked almost immediately on automotive.

We have smiles on both sides, so someone is lying. Normally, I'd assuming it was Trump based solely on his history as a liar, but when ever China is involved with making agreements, I have to assume they are lying too.

Or perhaps this is simply a delay tactic by both and no deal will happen.

But I'm hopeful that a deal which gains real legal protections, doesn't force technology transfers and provides a 10 yr plan to make China a 100% open market can happen, I won't hold my breath. China is working a 100 yr plan, not 3 yr plan.

China's manipulation of Trump is so skillful. He is out of his league.

China's economy is doing a lot worse due to the trade war than America's. China has just turned in its lowest growth in 28 years.
