Trump's latest sobriquet. I envision Trump waving so long from his helicopter ala fellow disgraced Republican Nixon.

GoTrumpers: you own this.
bass4funk
Lol! That will never happen, especially that this was most likely done when he was not the President and add to the fact that Cohen lied and thereby disqualified himself as a truly reliable witness doesn’t change the circumstances that much at all for this President.
Blacklabel
So when do we get something other than “lying”. Make it seem like everything that was done was fine if Cohen hadn’t lied about it.
Or does Mueller investigate and determine appropriate political campaign strategy now too?
Why would Trump have stopped a business deal just because his campaign started? He was never going to win anyway, remember?
CrazyJoe
Color me shocked. The mere fact that he conducted business with Moscow while running for President is a red flag for collusion.
bass4funk
Which in itself is not a crime.

Truth brother - what's the big deal about lying to the FBI - who do they think they are, the preeminent law enforcement organization in our country or something? Heck, lying to the FBI is a test question on a Trump job application...no big deal...it's just breaking the law...
Uh, when it involves multiple campaign officials meeting with Russians, yea, think so...
Because he's a lousy businessman - has had six bankruptcies....
Something's coming...
No, but you can visit Trump Tower West - San Quintin...you can meet a whole slew of Trump officials, and soon, family members there...give it a few more months and you'll be able to see The Donald too...
garymalmgren
Cohen's lawyer, Lanny Davis, noted that Trump called his client a liar. "Who do you believe?" Davis asked on Twitter.
Ah....... I'll have to ponder that one.
On second thoughts, can I take the 5th.
Blacklabel
Something may be coming, but this isn’t it either. nY Times just resported Trumps answers to Mueller matched what Cohen said in court.
It’s not a crime to discuss business with Russians. Not to meet with them, nor to go bankrupt nor to be “Orange”. Still looking for that crime.

Continually lowering the bar says a lot about how low GoTrumpers will go in defending their political messiah. Trumpistanians show zero regard for US systems (which they've long claimed they want brought down), honesty, ethics, morality. They can only defend Trump saying someone else at some point in history might have been worse.

"looking at the bottom of the trash bin" - thanks, that's the best description of what's it's like investigating Trump and his cronies that I've evert heard...
Toasted Heretic
Of course. That's why I hired him for over 10 years. I hire the best, weakest, dumbest people. Hugely.
bass4funk
Naw, it’s just there’s nothing to froth about at this point.
Let me guess, but the Democrats care, right? ROFL
Especially Blumenthal and Spliff? Yes, so righteous! Lol
Toasted Heretic
This has nothing to do with Democrats. This is about a dangerous liar in the White House.
*In particular, Cohen is sharing information with the special counsel about Mr Trump's Russian business interests - including efforts to build a Trump Tower in Moscow - which, according to the president's former personal lawyer, continued well into Mr Trump's presidential campaign. That runs counter to the president's continued insistence that he had no financial ties to Russia - an assertion he frequently made when questioned about his past praise of Russian President Vladimir Putin and efforts to improve US-Russian relations.*

Keep pretending it's about Democrats, liberals, Marxists, anybody but the criminal Trump family and its heinous supporters.
Goodlucktoyou
Why he admitted it? He could of just said “I can’t remember”.
Trumps da man though. He will make a statement in front of a helicopter so nobody can really hear and Twitter he doesn’t know anything about it.

As a boy, I was fishing with my grandfather. We had a few bass we'd caught in a bucket, and out of curiosity, I lowered my lure in, which was immediately taken. My grandfather observed, "Some are incapable of learning."
So Trump responds to Cohen's guilty plea to perjury by calling him a liar while at the same time admitting that he did act as Cohen described but that it was legal. It was legal. Just don't lie about it.
I'd love to see Mueller release a preliminary report to the lame-duck Congress and watch as they scramble to squash it, then release the final report to the new, Dem-controlled Congress. The Repubs will see a lure. The Dems will seek the truth.
bass4funk
He Lied?
Not sharing, was pressured there’s a big difference.
Which is not a crime, now if the President told Cohen to lie, then you might be on to something.
Ok, and? Cohen has proven to be a liar and unreliable, just like Manafort. Mueller putting him on the stand is a huge gamble. Mueller is running out of options.
PTownsend
What? ROFL
Is this a Trumpistanian's attempt at humor? SMH
Mueller has so many options he's got to decide which ones to pursue first.
Strangerland
Mueller isn't going to put anyone on the stand without rock-solid evidence to back up any assertions made. Mueller doesn't need to put risky witnesses on the stand. With so many people flipping, if one turns out to be not good, he can just go after one of the other swampers.
SuperLib
Nope, not a crime at all. Neither is having a conversation with the Russians.
That leaves one unresolved issue: Why did so many of Trump's circle lie about perfectly legal interactions? For funsies?
Blacklabel
tha a for each person to answer. What they lied about is obviously legal because they haven’t been charged with lying AND the “crime” they lied about.
bass4funk
No, but serious, it’s not a crime unless Trump told Cohen to lie and that can be proven, Mueller has a case, if not, he’s wasting his time, even if the lib networks try to spin this as doom and gloom, nothing shocking with this one.
Actually, he doesn’t have many. Doesn’t have Flynn, Manafort, Corsi, Stone, Cohen is acproven liar, therefore an unreliable witness....now the hard part of Mueller, time is running out, needs to find something anything to put together to get Trump. Oh, the sweaty bullets Mueller because the next AG might pull the budget...decisions, decisions...
Laguna
Hmm. Seems both Mueller and Trump are accusing Cohen of lying, the former with evidence of a deeper level of involvement by the Trump family and himself in the Russia project than he copped to and the latter claiming without basis the opposite.
Poor guy just can't catch a break. That's what happens when you get close to Trump. BTW, Cohen marks the 33rd person indicted or convicted under the Mueller probe.
bass4funk
Trump is going to be so busy pardoning people, I agree, the man can’t catch a break.
Silvafan
Oh my!!!!
LOL! Not Ivanka not Dump's weird love interest!
By the way, the FBI and IRS just raided the offices of Trump’s longtime tax attorney.
B-b-but Hillary! They will call it all lies and fake news then throw in some Hillary and Obama for the deflection.
hahahahahaha!

Getting worse for Trump. Apparently, German police raided the headquarters of Deutsche Bank Thursday over issues related to Russian oligarch money laundering. Trump owes the bank about $364 million, and the bank owns mortgages on several Trump properties, including his Washington, DC, hotel.
Understandably, Deutsche Bank's stock has tanked, bringing in the jackals. One is the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, meaning that Trump could soon end up owning hundreds of millions to a Chinese bank, which in turn would hold the mortgage to his DC hotel.
Spin that.
bass4funk
How so?
Ok and?
I see.....so then Trump is ok, like to see Mueller pull a magic rabbit out of his a...hat! Nothing so far that harms the President.
Sneezy
Typical Republican. Weak on law and order. Why are you so eager to have convicted criminals set free?
Sneezy
Your grandmother was/is wise. Keen fishermen and residents of this forum have something in common: they both know that bass are dumb.

Coming from the people that turned a blind eye on the last administration, rich.
I want to ask liberals the same question.

Notice how this poster's comments get weaker and weaker - they were always pretty weak to begin with.
It's because you can't defend the indefensible. There's nothing left for Trumpsters to spin, exaggerate or just outright disregard (i.e., Muller has done nothing...).
Their beloved Orange Oracle is tied up in a web of collusion, conspiracy, and obstruction - with everyone who has worked or been associated with him brought before the FBI and got caught lying.
Now Trump has submitted sworn testimony answers that Michael Cohen is going to prove (with records, e-mail, tapes) are outright lies. And his lawyers let him walk right into the trap.
He can't pardon himself out of perjury...
Nixon 2.0...

Oh my, the bad news just keeps on coming....
Burke's law firm of Klafter & Burke has worked with Trump's companies repeatedly to reduce the property tax that Trump Tower and his other properties in Chicago have had to pay, according to the Sun-Times. Over his 12 years working for Trump, Burke was allegedly able to cut the property taxes on the downtown tower by more than $14 million. Burke stopped working for Trump this summer, citing "irreconcilable differences" in letters filed with the Illinois State Property Tax Appeal Board.

In written testimony to both the House and Senate intelligence committees last year, Cohen said the Trump Tower Moscow deal was abandoned in January 2016. “By the end of January 2016, I determined that the proposal was not feasible for a variety of business reasons and should not be pursued further,” Cohen said. The plea deal, though, says that not only did Cohen continue to pursue the project through June 2016, but also that he briefed Trump on it more than the three times he had originally claimed, and also that he briefed Trump’s family members.

The Trump Organization planned to give a $50 million penthouse in the planned Trump Tower Moscow to President Vladimir Putin while the company was in negotiations in 2016 to build the development, four people familiar with the matter told Buzzfeed News. Michael Cohen, President Trump's former lawyer and fixer, discussed the idea with Putin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, two U.S. law enforcement officials told Buzzfeed.

"Michael Cohen"
What a rat. I thought he, along with Stormy and Omarosa were supposed to bring down Trump...
Mueller has now gone off the rails and is purposefully creating “crimes” with perjury traps. That have absolutely nothing to do with the mandate he was given to find so called Russia interference and collusion.
It's now time to fire the partisan Bob Mueller and his team of angry Hillary Clinton donating criminal Democrats.
Chip Star
Good thing cohen's testimony isn't the only evidence available. When he corroborates other evidence as an insider; his testimony will become more credible, which is also what will happen when there is evidence to corroborate his testimony.

Now that ive answered, please do so in return.

Pure desperation. Re-read Mueller's mandate. Oh, and just wait for the subpoena party the house is planning for February!

This really does finally feel like we’re reaching final trump. Though his trumpets try to claim he’ll somehow survive being exposed, the reality is he won’t. Nixon’s people made the same claims. It’s the way of humans who are losing grip of their power to posture as if they are stronger than ever. But the fall happens quick. With Murller finally getting a statement from trump, and the ball dropping for major players like Cohen and Manafort, along with so many sealed indictments, it feels like the investigation is coming towards a conclusion. I don’t see Mueller’s team making moves on players at the level of Cohen and Manafort any earlier than they need to, as they won’t want to show their hands.
I’m not a gambler, but I may see if I can find somewhere to drop a 1000 yen on him not being in power by the end of the year.
Chip Star
*Burke stopped representing Trump in May in a sharp break. In letters filed in county courts and to a state property tax appeal board, Burke said “irreconcilable differences” with the Trump Organization led him to halt his work on behalf of the firm entirely. He stepped aside in five cases in progress that argued for millions of dollars in refunds of property tax.*
The good times keep rolling!
Chip Star
Looks like the subpoena Larry had already been planned!
*In choosing targets for inquiry in 2019-2020, senior party leaders will be guided, in part, by 64 subpoena requests made by House Oversight Committee Democrats in 2016-2018 that were blocked by Republicans then in power in the House.*

I thought they were all part of "only the best"....
Yep, he made them folks all waltz into his office, put them under oath, told them what the penalty was for not being truthful, and watched them all outright lie....
Robert Mueller - life-long Republican. Been a Republican longer than Trump who was New York Democrat until he realized Democrats wouldn't fall for his con job...
We really are getting toward the end of this nightmare - Trump has the stench of Nixon all over him. Time to clean all the vermin out of the White House....
bass4funk
And neither can most liberals.
I think that would be a matter of opinion which swings both ways.
No, I’m just saying, so far, there is nothing Mueller has that is devastating to the President. He was notified earlier that Cohen was going to plead guilty, so no surprise. Look, I understand why he would do it. For most people, Federal prison is just something you don’t want to experience, so if the Feds want you to compose in order to get a reduced sentence, most people will compose.
Well, if you want to believe that. As far as how deep the lies were, we don’t know or if some of the statements were fabricated. We weren’t there for the interrogations.
So far from what it looks like, Trump’s statements match Cohen, in other words Trump himself is not in any jeopardy, now that doesn’t mean Mueller won’t try to find something, he knows the clock is ticking and he needs to produce something, anything, his options are running out. Corsi, Stone, Cohen proven to be a liar, this is all not great for Mueller, time to switch tactics.
No, he can’t, but he can pardon the others
Strangerland

At least you admit you have no answer.
Nope. Weak arguments are objectively identifiable. Like the immediately above.
I have nothingbof substance . . . Quick! Make up a conspiracy theory about the FBI forcing people into lying.
And the rule of law be damned!

Any thoughts on it yourself? Why all of these people, supposedly doing perfectly legal things, would lie about their involvement?
Are people crazy or biased for wanting to investigate their lies?
SuperLib
A man holding on to his last ounce of hope.
bass4funk
I don’t need to defend him, Mueller so far has nothing, at least nothing that can concretely prove that the President colluded with the Russians. Keep digging Mueller boy.
I didn’t admit anything.
Exactly and this is why Mueller doesn’t have a strong case. Cohen is a risk...oh, what to do?
Lying..hmmm...Comey, Strzok, McCabe, Page....gee, where are they?
Strangerland
I'm glad you don't need to, because if you needed to, you'd be in a really bad position, since you can't. He's undefendable at this point. Certified criminal - it has now been entered into the court record that the Russian's had dirt on him, and he knew it, for over two years now. And you think the presidency wasn't compromised?
Well you probably do think that.
SuperLib
So we can't reference sworn testimony because we weren't in the room, but you can speculate, well, anything that you can make up with no evidence.
That's a substantial handicap that you're demanding for the debate.
I accept the challenge.
Strangerland
The more trump speaks, and the more we find out what Mueller knows, the more bass has to resort to empty useless posts that just say ‘liberals ate worse’, or else posts that expose his hypocrisy. Literally those are the only two patterns left to his posts.
SuperLib
Oh bass is about feelings. Trump could be walked out of the White House in handcuffs and the first thing he would do is come here to tell us he's not worried at all, it's the best thing that could have happened, and he personally feel great.
It's all about him convincing the world that we didn't "get to" him.
Strangerland
And trump will be saying the same thing!
And they’ll both think that we don’t see reality.
SuperLib
Isnt it strange how they are saying these witnesses against Trump can't be trusted because they are liars? It's that disconnect again. Trump lies more than everyone combined but his credibility isn't an issue for them
Strangerland
Yeah, we’ve finally reached the point where they can no longer make any statements without exposing hypocrisy from some other statement they’ve made. That one is case in point. To defend trump they have to contradict something they previously said to defend trump. They’ve become a caricature of themselves.
bass4funk
People are allowed to believe whatever they want, there’s no law against it, but if the President is not bound and shackled, finger printed, mug shot, certified as a felon, he’s innocent and even Trump hating Lisa Page said there was nothing that she found that showed he colluded with the Russians and McCabe said there’s no there, there...oh... Even Dershowitz said, this is just weak. Mueller has what? The only thing he has is handing out perjury indictments. Keep digging, Mueller, dog will hunt.
No, quite the opposite in fact.
bass4funk
Not speculatating and I would always believe a liberal Harvard Professor that supports Hillary and knows the law better than most people in the country.
Yes and I will be the next President of the US.
It's all about him convincing the country, we tried so hard, so we just have to make stuff up in order to justify wasting everyone’s tax dollars.
lostrune2
So people were lying about the Trump Russian project ending in January 2016, while it actually continued into the summer, beyond past Trump clinching the Republican presidential nomination
Why were they lying if they didn't think it was that important

Lying and law-breaking -- that is what criminals do. And STILL the American people are unmoved...
Blacklabel
seems odd every time Trump has a chance to go overseas and meet world leaders a new “Russia bombshell” is created.
Also interesting that right as mueller loses both Manafort and Corsi and liberals lose Avenatti and Stormy, here comes Cohen again.
Perjury trap, they were hoping trump would answer different from Cohen in his written answers.
If the answer were different we would have be having leaks already saying “Cohen said late May, Trunp said May 20th!” type media mass hysteria.
SuperLib
Good, then you finally accept that people who don't personally like Trump don't let it impact their professional behavior. Just like the IG said.
Ah, then you were in the room with Mueller and the investigators.
SuperLib
Im still interested in your opinion as to why Don Jr, Manafort, Flynn, Cohen, Papadopoulos, Page, Sessions, and others lied about their meetings with the Russians.
You seem to deduce a lot from situations. Can we do that here?
bass4funk
I don’t buy that for a second! Ah, then you were in the room with Mueller and the investigators.
I see it didn’t stop you guys from speculating “collusion.”
Blacklabel
Because when they were asked about “the Russians” there was a context to it that didn’t include the people they had met. It meant Russians involved in criminal activity or election tampering.
there was no way they could have anticipated how stupid this would become and that talking to “Russians” meant they had to report taking to people at public events, people passed in the hallway, translators at meetings, people spoken to while doing their job, while doing normal business deals, etc.
remember when the Dem senator said she never met Russians then was in a picture at a meeting with Russians? Even she was like “oh you mean those kind of Russians too?”
No one had an idea that it would be so blatantly racist that talking to “a Russian” or letting one buy an apartment would be seen as criminal.
SuperLib
So when Don Jr lied and said he didn't meet Russians, then lied again to say it was about adoption and not colliding to get dirt, it's because he thought we were asking about "criminal Russians" and not "the Russians."?
