Get a grip, bass. The border obviously isn't too porous if they're catching traffickers at BORDER CHECKS.
Well, we all know how the media lies, right? ;) funny how its believable when you want it to be, but its all a lie when you don't like it.
And again, they're reporting the news. They're not the arbitter of whether its a wall or whether Trump really will get his money for the wall on his own, they're reporting what he is claiming.
Chip Star
I am in favor of securing our borders, but I know a wall would be ineffective. The problem with Trumpophiles is they conflate being against an ineffective albatross with being for open borders. They lack the intellectual capacity to understand nuance.
Blacklabel
Yep it is. Even liberal media is announcing it as a “wall” now. Let it go. I have never seen anyone climbing over the current wall with a ladder. Ever.
Serrano
You should save those tissues for yourself cause you're clearly going to need them once you realize the wall is t ( isn't, right? ) going to be built.
Look, Chip, just because you are not in favor of America securing its southern border doesn't mean it's not going to happen. It is.
Toasted Heretic
If you must but perhaps not here in Japan, old chap, thanks.
Not always. But those who are ignorant with it are.
Oddly enough, people here have been discussing racism among the Democrats every time it crops up. And they rightly condemn it immediately. Whereas the followers of the sickly serial liar and racist sex-pest dismiss any attempts to discuss the endemic racism in the GOP. They not only dismiss it, but deflect from it. Repeatedly. No matter how much evidence and examples are given. There is no room for self-examination among the Trumpists - only good for pointing the finger at liberals and/or Democrats.
I rest my case.
bass4funk
Yes, tell that to the hunters and people that need gun for their daily lives. Can’t always count on the police, can’t count on the Democrats especially on the border....
Thanks, but I’ll keep my guns.
Here we go, being rich is so bad. Lol
I would think with the history of racism that has plagued the Democrats and especially now that is more evident in VA. you would think the Democrats would talk more about this problem they have, but they don’t, they do however like to point the finger at conservatives for some reason always.
Not all liberals are bigots believe it or not.
Chip Star
It's more of a testament to Trump supporter's ignorance than Dumpster Fire Donny's prowess.
Toasted Heretic
Uno duce, una voce?
What the actual what?
I must be getting old, but Trumpists advocating the end of democracy and a single party state doesn't surprise me.
Still, the thought of the meltdown to come when they inevitably don't get their wall is of some cheer.
You have to hand it to the sickly conman, though. All that Mexico will pay stuff. And they believed him.
Serrano
Ok you win. It's 8 B. Now all the Mexicans need is an 8 dollar ladder. Or some cheap 8 dollar shoes to walk around the joke of a wall
It's not going to be a joke of a wall when Trump gets done with it. You keep bringing up the ladders. Question: If ladders are the end all-be all of getting over the barriers, why do illegal crossings go way down in areas where decent barriers are erected? Oh my...
Chip Star
You should save those tissues for yourself cause you're clearly going to need them once you realize the wall is t going to be built. Tee Hee. Har! Oh my . . .
Serrano
This another joke?
No joke, Chip! I'll get you some tissues. hehe
nishikat
Ok you win. It's 8 B. Now all the Mexicans need is an 8 dollar ladder. Or some cheap 8 dollar shoes to walk around the joke of a wall
Serrano
Dead: What about the suggestion of a nonsense national emergency? That's the only screw up.
Our border security people disagree. I'll take their opinion over Dead's.
How much of the 2000 mile wall will 5 B pay for?
It's 8 B now, nishikat. hehe
The bill, passed by the Republican-led Senate on Thursday, will go to the Democratic-led House of Representatives for final congressional approval.
Nancy signed it and sent it to Trump's desk. Good grief...
Congress is worthless. Keep Trump, and vote out the Dems and RINOS.
nishikat
How much of the 2000 mile wall will 5 B pay for?
Toasted Heretic
It must be a tiny pen.
Chip Star
We'll see what the courts say about the power of Trump's pen. We do already know that that pen has inked some horrible business deals over the years and authored numerous lies.
Blacklabel
Only the military construction part requires national emergency. The rest is the power of Trumps pen.
Blacklabel
CNN. Your guys. They just told me.
takeda.shingen.1991@gmail.com
Is that what you learned at Trump you, black? Dream on.:)
Chip Star
Black: You're forgetting the lawsuits by landowners and environmental groups. This strategy is myopic at best.
Toasted Heretic
Not going to happen. Just like Mexico paying for the wall/slats/barrier/vanity project.
Cheats don't make great chess players.
Blacklabel
5 of the 8 billion can be done simply on his order. Other 3 might get hung up in the court for a while.
Chip Star
This another joke? Trump may get some of that money after all the lawsuits are sorted out. Har! Oh my . . . Tee Hee!
Serrano
Trump's not getting his wall.
Oh my...
A Trump administration official confirmed Thursday night that the president will announce around $8 billion for a border wall under executive actions, part of which will be the emergency declaration.
That figure includes $1.375 billion in the spending bill for fencing in Texas; $600 million from the Treasury Department’s drug forfeiture fund; $2.5 billion from a Defense Department drug interdiction program; and $3.5 billion from a military construction budget under an emergency declaration by the president.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/government-shutdown-vote-border-bill-trump-n971576
While the Democrats are playing checkers, Trump is playing chess. $8 billion - check and mate!
lincolnman
Sometimes you just have to shake your head. The Republican Senate, not the Democrats, passed it 84 to 16. All the Repubs voted for it except for 3.
And Caveman Donnie is signing it in a surrender ceremony tomorrow in the Rose Garden...
That's what Rex Tillertson called him...with a different adjective.....
Strangerland
The right are castigating Trump for this one. They are not happy.
Its ironic that the one issue he began his campaign with, and used to whip his worshippers into a religious frenzy, is one that he was unable to fulfill due to his ineptitude, causing those same peons to rebel. If this ends up being his downfall, it will be poetic.
Chip Star
Typical response when you are corrected. Your original assertion was a wall would have stopped the drugs.
nishikat
Not necessary. Trump is failing anyway.
They will just use ladders and tunnels. Also, the wall is so short they will just use shoes to walk around it
Toasted Heretic
And who is this single liberal that you know?
Toasted Heretic
Just to clarify - I was referring to the Trump fanbase in general. And perhaps, it's not always fair to generalise. There were plenty of people who voted for him because they genuinely believed he was an alternative, he'd look out for them.
And as predicted, he turned out to be yet another elitist billionaire who's been enriching the richest of the rich.
The big difference this time round, is his stunning lack of empathy, his serial lying, his treatment of women and his out and out racism. (Not to mention his love of dictators, hatred of the free press and selling out the US to Russian interests)...
Not all Trump voters bought into that. Not all Trump voters were or are bigots.
Strangerland
Yes, let's not do anything about it. Typical Republican thought process; people get shot up in school, at concerts, going to church, and when more people die, you send your thoughts and prayers.
bass4funk
Yes, let’s not do anything about it. Typical liberal think process, keep the borders open and let everyone and all drugs in and when more people die, make the excuse and tell the parents you did all you could.....whatever that means in liberal terminology and say, “what difference does it make?” But i know a single liberal won’t meet with the parents who have lost loved ones, can’t do that now.
Strangerland
Once again you make a claim, and support it with nothing. Literally nothing. For some reason you think the Democrats have really screwed this up, but it appears you are unable to actually articulate any reason why that would be the case.
There's a reason for that...
Toasted Heretic
Must be them pesky enemies of the people, dictating policy again.
Deadforgood
What about the suggestion of a nonsense national emergency? That's the only screw up.
nishikat
If Trump signs it that means he is weak. Hannity told Trump not to sign it. Also, Trump is also sensitive to what Ann Coulter says (she called him a "wimp"). We can expect another government shutdown since Trump is weak. Or can we? Trump signing equals weak "wimpy" president.
Serrano
The Democrats have really screwed themselves in passing this nonsense "compromise" bill and sending it to the president's desk. Uncaring Idiots.
Deadforgood
Oh, wait...sorry. When a Trump supporter says something racist, it's not. It's just "humor", right? My bad.
Anyways, its gonna be quite the show eh? Good luck GOP, your grave has been dug. The reaper has been revealed.
takeda.shingen.1991@gmail.com
hahahahaha No, its not my opinion. Every single congressperson representing areas along the border is against Trump's idiotic wall. I love your answer, its literally not my opinion, you just can't stand the fact that EACH AND EVERYONE CONGRESSPERSON representing districts ALONG THE BORDER disagrees with you.
No, silly, that's not how this works. I watched your links and I replied to your (silly) posts. We're a bit beyond "Democrats" as well, considering even Will Hurd, a Republican congressman representing Texas border territory is also opposed to Trump's dumb wall. I guess you know and Trump know more than him? :D
prossnip42
You know i don't think the right wing commentators on this website know what the definition of a compromise is. A compromise is say two people want and entire piece of chocolate. A compromise in that situation would be splitting the chocolate right? Meanwhile Trump said wall or nothing. That's not a compromise, that's an ultimatum
Toasted Heretic
Sounds like common sense, to me.
Guns are killing a lot more people than migrants fleeing persecution and conflict.
nishikat
Yes, they will just use ladders and tunnels anyway.
No
And all the illegals will use all ladders
takeda.shingen.1991@gmail.com
hahahahahaha That drug bust was at a port of entry. A wall wouldn't have prevented that. Too funny. http://time.com/5517842/largest-opioid-fentanyl-bust-border-patrol/
Except you want to make it more difficult to come here legally, don't you? Of course you do.
Oh please, Trumpies aren't interested in taking care of their own.
Serrano
Super: You won't have a complete border wall because it's dumb.
Our border patrol people disagree. I value their opinion and common sense over your opinion, thanks.
There's no way to monitor it in remote places
What about Schumer and Pelosi's high tech security? It's not gonna work? Who woulda thought! At least there will be a physical barrier there, lol.
Now Pelosi is claiming the next Democratic president will declare a National Emergency to take away our guns. And they say Trump has dangerous rhetoric, lol.
Toasted Heretic
He did 10 and Trump has already done 3.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_national_emergencies_in_the_United_States
But here's the thing the far right seem incapable of comprehending - Obama isn't President anymore.
Still, emergency declarations by the previous White House incumbents were usually about dealing with foreign, not domestic, issues. Stuff like terrorist access to funds and stopping investment in or from those countries associated with human rights abuses.
takeda.shingen.1991@gmail.com
Actually it is a salient point though. If you knew anything about the constitution, and you its obvious you don't, you'd know that congress controls the purse strings. Where does Donny go thinking he can work around the constitution to do whatever he wants? Like I said, the courts are going to roll up the constitution and smack Donny around like Stormy Daniels.
Chip Star
The big opiod drug bust was at a port of entry where a wall would not help at all. You guys just can't accept reality. Carry on with the hyperbolic inaccuracies.
Blacklabel
Maybe liberals get a different cnn.com
mine says in huge letters that “Trump to spend $8B for border WALL”
is this fake news?
bass4funk
They can go anywhere they like, if they want to come to the US, please do so legally, we can’t and don’t need to take loads and loads of caravans and we can’t even take care of our own. Yes, the Democrats are really showing how much they care about border security.
Look at our pourous border, the border the Dems say there’s no crisis, the same border where we had one of the biggest opioid drug busts in history.
Chip Star
I love your tenacity, Black. Off that you think the justice system is unworthy to settle legitimate disputes. Odd that you don't think Repubs have used it in the exact same manner.
Blacklabel
If the best you have is “I’m gonna sure you because I lost” that’s not much. Especially when you are suing a President for declaring a national emergency when the last guy did 12 of them.
Were all of his illegal too?
Toasted Heretic
There will be no wall. Only the siege mentality of Trumpists will prove an effective barrier against reality.
Chip Star
Love your adherence to conspiracy-theory talking points. It took you guys long enough to come up with that one.
Lawsuits aren't the exclusive domain of democrats. I'll not muddy the thread listing all the Republican lawsuits against the lady literate president.
Blacklabel
Nope, we totally tricked you into paying for all the things you wanted. Now all our money is for what we want.
Lawsuits? Whatever. That’s Dem response to everything when you lose. Any way to make a dossier on this or link it to mueller while you are losing?
Chip Star
Black: You're spinning hard trying to make this a win. Spinning to the point of it being a conspiracy theory. Let me guess, if I check Fox "News," they will be spewing the same trash.
Chip Star
Black: You constantly forget the lawsuits. Enjoy your wait.
Your side signed on to a garbage deal because they got their arses handed to them after Trump shuttered the government for 35 days and his supporters started disparaging federal employees as "just democrats."
Blacklabel
you tried to dictate what the money was for so we let you pay for all the peripherals. Now we don’t have to use the next money for agents or bed or judges or foreign healthcare. All wall from now.
Toasted Heretic
I hate to point out the obvious but the migrants (not illegals, they haven't done anything illegal by seeking asylum) are Americans. That's right; the Americas isn't just the USA.
As for the nonsense about Democrats liking drugs - you'll have to be more clear and specific. Every time you or I down a beer - that's a form of drug taking.
Chip Star
Personal anecdotes are just that, anecdotes. Lol. Smh.
Blacklabel
our sure knew the garbage offer was just the beginning.
Your side assumed it was the end. We knew what was coming next so freed up all the new money coming for 100% wall construction.
Laguna
The vast majority of opioids are either manufactured in the US or are smuggled in through legal points of entry. Conflating the wall and the opioid crisis is a red herring.
bass4funk
And they assimilated, they understand and learned the language and spoke English, you’re not seeing that now and also, you didn’t have asylum seekers trying to impose or unfurl their country of origin flags. They all came legally. My great grandparents came to this country “legally” so What do liberals have against that?
No, what it did was give recognition to the thousands of homeless that we have and need to care for which the last administration failed to do, it was everyone else, BUT Americans and I’m glad Trump is taking care of house first.
Only if Maduro decides to be hardheaded and tries to hold onto power.
Blacklabel
The only war Dems could “win” this issue is of Trump gave up after their garbage offer. He didn’t.
Chip Star
Someone is in full on meltdown. Denying facts, calling them opinions, and deriding those on the border that don't want the wall whilst pushing hyperbolic falsehoods about democrats.
Blacklabel
It’s no different than going to a restaurant you know is closed. Or to a party without an invitation or a concert without a ticket. You don’t just show up and expect and demand entry.
Our border needs to be closed and by invitation (a valid visa or asylum request filed at the proper location) only.
bass4funk
Ok, that’s your opinion, you can tell me how many people don’t want it and I can show you the opposite and I really could care less what these Trump hating idiots in Washington are so desperately trying to indoctrinate to us.
Yup.
https://youtu.be/niOcdMl_0fQ

https://youtu.be/6fhX8hncr_g
Why aren’t Democrats for it, what changed, do they like drugs, they care more about illegals than Americans, they were worried about the opioid crisis and now they support it. Shame on them.
Back at you as well.
nishikat
Trump people! What is Trump's 2,000-mile wall supposed to do (it is 2,000 miles....right?)?
Toasted Heretic
Same as they ever did. Thousands fleeing persecution in Europe in the 1930s came to seek asylum in the US. The America First movement demonised them, as well.
Desperate times and all that.
As I've said before, just wait until your govt tries military intervention in Venezuela. Then you'll get a crisis.
Blacklabel
Why would thousands of people come to a wall to die? Wouldn’t they go somewhere else and live?
serendipitous1
So Trump still dreaming about his wall. Let's say he does make the military build it. Then what? Will Trump supporters feel better when thousands start dying on the other side of the wall? Another reason why a wall isn't the answer.
wtfjapan
Democrats caved and gave 55 miles of wall. Remember when Pelosi swore she would give nothing? Big victory for the President.
wrong 55miles of fencing, 55miles of 2000miles is less than 3%, hardly a cave , see if Trump can get his other 97% in the time he has left as POTUS. good luck lol
lincolnman
Whatever you want to call it? The only word I've heard come out of Trump and his flock is "WALL" - I never heard fence or barrier or slats, until Trump had to surrender a couple weeks ago - then even he caved and starting using those terms.
Then tell Don Jr to stop going to Honduras and paying the Trump clothing employees to dress dirty and drive to the border...
Trump ought to sign the bill on the USS Missouri - then it can be home to two surrenders...
takeda.shingen.1991@gmail.com
I'll do you a solid, PT:
The first was a video from a random lady at the border, claiming the cartel runs the border.
The next second video was from Blaze TV Glen Beck, talking about how Democrats had voted for a border wall in 2013
The final video is from Fox News? Business? about the border wall GoFundme.
None of which, as all can see, have any more than a scant relation to anything discussed here.
@wc
How is that? You controlled both houses of congress and the whitehouse, yet couldn't build a wall. How do you figure its going to happen now?
Lol No they're not. Maybe on Breitbart, but not for most people. And, can we decide; are they stealing our jobs or are they freeloading? Which is it?
Toasted Heretic
Correction - Mexico is not going to pay. Obvs.
Toasted Heretic
I prefer to call it a distraction and a manufactured one at that. At least Trumpists realise that Mexico is going to pay and the taxpayers are going to have to foot the bill.
I wish Trumpists would look at the facts about migrants and why they chose to flee their countries of origin. But it's far easier to demonise them, I guess.
SuperLib
Every member of the House, both blue and red, that are on the border, do not support a wall. And this was the result of an election 4 months ago.
Sinema in AZ just got elected to the Senate campaigning on no wall. She beat a Trump supporting GOP candidate who was for the wall. Both Senators in California are against the wall. Both Senators in New Mexico are against the wall. Both Senators from Texas were against the wall, and now they're suddenly for it. "It" meaning supporting Trump.
A majority of people in Arizona do not support the wall. A vast majority did not support the shutdown over the wall. It's the same in California. It's the same in New Mexico. It's the same in Texas. When you see polls showing anything close to supporting the wall, it's driven by people who don't live here. Perhaps Maine.
The Border Patrol Union was against a "wasteful wall," saying employers should be the focus. That was until January 4, when their new leader, a Trump supporter, suddenly reversed all of that. So that's some solid evidence for your side, a reversal from 6 weeks ago.
The DHS has been caught presenting misleading statistics about terrorists entering the country and the southern border. That's their position....to lie for Trump to create fear out of thin air. Politics.
Does this effectively counter your argument that Democrats are out of touch because we don't go down to the border and see for ourselves? And please, no personal anecdotes. I live here full-time.
Wc62six
Trump will get the funding eventually for his wall, barrier, fence whichever you prefer to call it. We should be glad there will be no shutdown.
I wish caravan after caravan (freeloaders) would quit marching to US border demanding entry. They’re really causing a stir in US politics.
Toasted Heretic
I guffawed out loud, the other day, when a certain poster answered my question to another poster, thinking I'd addressed him.
Would Trumpists be so dishonest as to use two different accounts? I hope I'm wrong, LOL, ROTFL etc.

Which Republicans? Trump? He could have gone on TV anytime the past two years and said to the McConnell and Ryan, send me a bill funding the wall now - I will sign it. Did he do that? If not, why not?
Why all the manufactured outrage, all the chaos and pain of 35 days of government shutdown, when TRUMP could have requested a bill from Congress - and he didn't. Why?
takeda.shingen.1991@gmail.com
Stop changing the subject, Bass. None of them are in favor of Trump's dumb wall. If there really was a crisis, why are none of them in favor of it? I guess none of them care about the districts and the constituents that elected them to office? totally ;)
And if you had even bothered to read any of the links I posted, you'd see that, gasp, they were interviewed! Another sad attempt at deflection.
No spin here, bass. Why couldn't the mayor of Tijuana be bigoted? Because he's Mexican? Ridiculous, and bigoted.
jack o helen
Trump is such a hypocrite. Illegal immigrants is all fine and dandy, as long as they're working in his hotels, but when it comes to pushing his agenda for a wall to keep foreigners out and Americans in, he'll demonize Hispanics as being bloodthirsty murderers. Watch this video from the Daily Show to see a mascot called Bricky the Border Wall talking with Trump supporters to witness the level of intelligence that supports Trump:

But funny how these politicians have been getting fatter pockets and the people who never get interviewed have little to say, as if they would know since they have all the security they need, they just have to deal with it and then liberals panic when they hear about opioid deaths, but want to legalize marijuana.....honestly, Democrats are all over the place. He very well may be.
Serrano
Trump's speech tomorrow will be humiliating
True! Humiliating for the Dems and RINOS.
bass4funk
Maybe I am dreaming, but I think if the Democrats would go more along the border and open to all ages and videotape themselves with the border patrol and see what they have to do have the pundits invite them more on their talk shows the people could see for themselves even in Maine where thee people have zero idea as to what’s happening along the border. One thing the Democrats can’t do even with all their middle earth mystical powers, they can’t change video, they can’t change the words that came out of their mouths back in 2013 supporting a strong barrier, wall, fence, chicken coup...whatever. The Democrats try so hard to lie to their constituents into making them believe there is nothing going on and all of these crazy liberal pundits won’t even show many of the messages that were coming back from Mexico that support this president and his efforts to climb down on illegal immigration
SuperLib
Trump's speech tomorrow will be humiliating. He's going to have to once again try to tell the public his bogus story about the "humanitarian crisis" that no one believes outside of his base. Maybe he can get Pence to stand behind him to nod and clap at appropriate times to complete the drama. Some GOP senators will look into the camera and give their rehearsed lines to go along with the party, then we move on.
SuperLib
Nah. Two bipartisan bills were killed by the far right. One of them contained a provision that the GOP gets to declare when the border is sealed, meaning it's completely their standard. There's no story about angering the left base or any of that stuff, just straight up fringe GOP meddling.
bass4funk
Yes, I do find it interesting that most of the people that are polled are either in Blue States...I think California would be one and spineless Republicans that are up for re-election and the same people on the socialist side that wanted the same thing in 2013, these Democrats say they care, but they don’t and even the mayor of TJ doesn’t get it, but I guess he’s a bigot as well, spin that
bass4funk
Good question, they should have, can’t defend that, but then again, these group of Republicans genetically related to chickens.
But also The Democrats had both Houses and didn’t do anything about DACA in the first year, why? Also they they supported the same exact thing the President supported back in 2013, but now they don’t, why? Don’t spin, please.
Serrano
Just remember, MAGA-heads: If this DOES succeed, the next Democratic president blah blah blah
It's gonna be awhile before we get another Democratic president, if ever. Earliest would be 2024.
Trump had two years and both Houses of Congress to do it - and didn't. Why?
I keep telling you, Trump has had to deal with the RINOS as well as the Dems and the media.
And all this over a wall supported by only 30% of Americans
According to the polls, right? They may have polled you but they didn't poll me.
So, using your logic, Laguna, since "only 30% of Americans" support the wall, if Trump signs this joke of a bill, that's a good thing and he should be commended for it and not derided for it as "caving," right? Right?
The United States of America has been under an undeclared state of national emergency since November 2016 when Donald J. Trump was elected
It would have been if Hillary had been elected. We dodged that bullet thanks to the wisdom of our forefathers and voters in enough states.
Democrats don't care about anything except beating Trump.
Oh my...
Why Democrats Are Opposing Border Security

takeda.shingen.1991@gmail.com
Oh, I see Bass, very interesting. Is that why NONE of the politicians, Republican or Democrat, representing border territory are in favor of the dumb border wall? ;)
yamada1043
The United States of America has been under an undeclared state of national emergency since November 2016 when Donald J. Trump was elected and this emergency will last until he leaves the Office of President ... the sooner the better.
lincolnman
OK Bass - another question - he had both Houses of Congress for two years, and didn't do one thing to build the wall - why? Democrats were in the minority in 2017 and 2018 - they couldn't dictate anything. Trump could have easily requested a funding bill for the wall from the majority Repubs and they would have gave him one - he didn't - why?
bass4funk
Funny, how most of the democrats were offered to go down to the border and they didn’t, where as the Republicans dig and could see right before the very eyes the lawlessness that was taking place as well as the apprehensions that were taking place, the Democrats say, they want to listen to the experts and yet, they don’t want to talk to the people that work day and night along the border, as well as DHS. You just can’t make this stuff up. As always the Dems move and shift the goal post as they please.
Laguna
Gee, that tends to occur frequently with those who must do Trump's bidding.
Don't pity McConnell as his actions have contributed to the rock and hard place he's between. As Senate Leader, one of his jobs is to safeguard its prerogatives, and he's just surrendered a big one. But it will get worse:
ー Pelosi will have the House vote on a resolution to rescind the declaration;
ー The Senate must take up this vote - McConnell has no power to block it;
- It is likely to pass the Senate, putting all Repubs on record in a Hobson's choice, and will be vetoed by Trump;
ー The Senate will be forced to choose whether to override Trump's veto or protect its constitutional roll over the power of the purse.
And all this over a wall supported by only 30% of Americans. Likely McConnell feels like pulling a Ryan now, too. He's got a powerful Dem opponent in 2020, and he's no spring chicken. I could see that happening.

Whining? When you turn on the TV the only thing that you see of the people that are whining of all liberals and Democrats, nonstop 24 hours seven days a week, whining, whining, whining...
No, he wanted a wall but he didn’t want the Democrats to dictate to him the terms of how he can build it and what the limitations are and how it should be when you have so many stipulations in a bill like that, then it means nothing and still the dreamers got nothing. The Democrats once again screwed these people, just like they have every other minority, but they sure want their votes.
bass4funk
As to where you come up with this laughable falsehood is amusingly funny. Unlike the despots that believe being lead down the path of the pearly gates hall of socialism will in some way equal the playing field and bring prosperity are either THE most ignorant or THE most dumbest to believe such a fallacy.
Yeah, amazing how the liberals pundits focused solely on his rants, but you don’t hear a word about a single Democrat, come on now....lol.
Minority, Yeah....the media keeps saying that and every single time, they’re proven wrong, every single time.
Chip Star
How can you believe anything Trump says given his lifetime of documented lying and cheating?
So why did Trump wait so long after he saw that Repubes weren't going to fix the problem and there wouldn't be a bipartisan solution?
Reclaim a little of your integrity and just admit this is a manufactured crisis. We know how emotionally invested you are and we u derstand loss aversion, but it's not too late to accept reality.

https://us.cnn.com/2019/02/14/politics/kfile-trump-immigration-executive-action-2014/index.html
Just to point out, yet again, how much of a hypocrite Trump and his supporters are, in 2014 Trump stated that executive action to act on immigration is unconstitutional and an impeachable offense.

“Chuck Schumer accused Trump of a "gross abuse of the power of the presidency."
Ha-Ha...... Schumer is on a tantrum streak. Just the other day he was kicking & screaming about Mitch McConnell putting that lame “Green New Deal “ to a vote.
takeda.shingen.1991@gmail.com
lolz So, if there's a precedent for something, then its okay and if not, its not okay? By that logic, we'd still have slavery and women wouldn't be voting.
Who cares if there is not precedent for something? Let's talk about what should be done. And if this dumb wall should be built, why did all congress people, Republican and Democrat alike, vote in favor of a continuance resolution without funding for the wall? Its not needed, and not going to happen.
and then the courts will roll up a copy of the constitution and smack him around with it like Stormy Daniels. Can't wait;)

"Trump caved" - conservative icon Lou Dobbs, "Trump's a lunatic", "He's a wimp" - conservative icon Ann Coulter...
Whining? That's what Donnie does when his fellow conservatives insult and humiliate him...
Beacuse a majority of Amercians wanted those - and still do. A wall? See above - not so much...
More Texas stockyard BS - Donnie wanted a wall, that's all - he didn't want comprehensive reform. And he didn't want a wall until humiliated by Coulter and Rush in Dec ...
?????
Trump had two years and both Houses of Congress to do it - and didn't. Why?
Blacklabel
Because he wanted Congress to come to a bipartisan legislative solution to actually fix illegal immigration as a whole once and for all. Dems wont, due to not wanting to anger their far left base, so they cant.
Paul Ryan promised Trump he would handle it if Trump signed that last nonsense bill with no wall funding. Then he just quit and snuck out of town instead.
We were. Been screaming build the wall since 2015.Toasted Heretic
Kinda ironic when Trumpists see the media as an enemy of the people & yet are happy to support a sickly PotUS who takes his cues from Fox News.
Blacklabel
"Trump caved! he's weak" thats all I have heard from the left the last 3 weeks. Oops.
Now its just whining about national emergencies and the precedent it would set if he does it. (hes doing it, there is no IF)
Dems in power just do what they want anyway, was there a precedent for Obamacare or to create DACA? Nope. Was it done anyway? Yep.
SuperLib
It's good that we're putting this behind us. Universities will probably make Trump's actions a case study in how to not get things done politically. He just kept boxing himself into a corner until he had no options left.
They sure did try, tho, Trump and the GOP. Their message that Democrats like open borders flopped just like their message about illegal voters. They decided to try straight up fear with stories about terrorists and Muslim prayer rugs being found on the border, and that got no traction. They sent people out to give misleading statistics in interviews then had to issue corrections.
They moved the army around, which looks kind of silly since earlier when the GOP was in charge of the budget I don't remember any national emergencies or troop movements. I guess things just changed quickly in 12 months, or something. Whatever. People didn't buy it. In the end it was all theatre for Trump supporters while everyone else saw through it.
When they couldn't lie, cheat, or mislead anymore, they ran out of time. No change. Blame still firmly on Trump with little support at all for a shutdown over a wall. All his own doing for telling the entire world it was his shutdown.
Looks like some Trump fans here want to claim victory and that's a good thing. It helps put things behind us. And if getting 55 miles of fence was a victory then we can clearly claim that Pelosi is capable of compromise, so that gets taken off the table.
Now it will go to the courts and out of the headlines. If Trump loses in the courts, it's over. If he wins then we start making our own list of national emergencies, and my guess is it will be a lot longer with things like health insurance, gun control, and the environment. The GOP doesn't really have anything else unless they try to declare a national emergency to get tax cuts for the rich.
The top story on Fox right now is Ocasio-Cortez (she gets about 3 separate feature headlines a day). The story about Trump signing tomorrow is pushed down in a smaller story. Time for everyone to move on.
North Korea is coming up next and someone needs to give Trump lessons on how to negotiate when you don't have much leverage. He only seems to know bullying and when that doesn't work I'm worried he will talk himself into a corner again.
Toasted Heretic
He was elected to stir up racist sentiment and hatred against migrants?
He was elected to manufacture a crisis?
Your country needs protecting - that much is true. It needs protection from the sickly tyrant and his minions.

Trump should forget the wall and follow Japan's and Australia's immigration policies.
Declaring this a national emergency is an abuse of power, though I'm generally happy when funds are diverted away from DoD/TSA/NSA budgets.
Toasted Heretic
A National Emergency needs declaring. But it's nothing to do with the fake wall and fake crisis.
It should be to do with climate change, which is affecting not just the US but the entire planet.
The rest of it is just made up, fake, false narrative.
The sickly PotUS is a bona fide despot. Wake up, Trumpists.
Chip Star
Trumpophiles still haven't answered these questions:
If this truly were a national emergency, why didn't Trump declare it one at the outset of his presidency?
If this truly were a crisis, why didn't repubes sort it out when they controlled the House?
If this truly were a crisis, why weren't Trumpophiles screeching at the tops of their lungs about it 12 months ago?
lincolnman
When it gets decided in the courts and only if Trump wins - and he hasn't been winning anything lately, except insults and humiliation from Coulter, Dobbs, et al... "Lunatic", "Loser"....
Donnie will see the walls at Leavenworth before he sees any on the border.
Definitely shows the Repub colors - "we're bigots"....
That statement has more BS than a Texas stockyard....
Sorry, that line was already spoken by Putin...
Deadforgood
This should be fun...Trump spends the next 2 years in legal battles for his wall and his freedom. Surely losing both. America is not a dictatorship, and it never will be. Even if for some reason he is able to legitimize illegal immigration as a national crisis, which it’s not (all numbers show a decline in illegal immigration and legal applications for immigration), it’s unlikely he gets the funding. Thanks for handing over the 2020 elections. A lot of cleaning up to do to get anything even slightly normal.
Blacklabel
wall. This bill covers all the extraneous things so that any money obtained under emergency can 100% go to direct wall construction. Not restricted to just the 55 miles can build as many miles as needed.
I really hope the Dems in the House all vote against even this deal. Shows their true colors.
Great day and great leadership by our president to do what is needed to protect our country regardless of politics. He was elected to do this and he is.
Ah_so
Big victory indeed. At the current rate, the wall will be built in only about 30 years.
David Varnes
Bingo. This is a PR stunt by Trump to simply try and look like he's taking the bull by the horns and working for the 'Murrican people.
Speaking about tweets, what about golf... I seem to remember someone saying they'd be working so hard, be so busy, that they'd never have time to play golf when they were President.
Must have been Hillary who said that.

Also remember the posts here on JT that Obama was destroying US democracy by doing so. Interesting that those same posters are now saying the US is NOT a democracy. They call that 'evolving'.

Trump triggered a 35-day-long shutdown of about a quarter of the federal government with his December demand for $5.7 billion to help build a portion of the wall. He was widely blamed for the shutdown and agreed to end it without getting the wall money.
Can we spell F-A-I-L...
*The word “wall” is not used once in the entire bill, which runs 1,159 pages. It budgets $3.3 billion less than the $5.7 billion Donald Trump demanded for construction of a wall on the border with Mexico before shutting down the government for a record 35 days.*

Stupid is as stupid does. This will be tied up in legal battles all the way to SCOTUS; by the time it's sorted out, he'll be out of office. Meanwhile, he'd be setting a dangerous precedent.
Ironic. Remember all the Trump tweets criticizing Obama for executive actions?
PTownsend
Is your point that people elected to represent their constituency shouldn't do that, that they should only follow Party lines, that as politicians they shouldn't be 'political'? The Trump uber alles crowd seems to either lack a fundamental understanding of US systems, and/or wants to tear them down.
My advice for AOC-phobics: leave the US. She's going to force you to walk, ride a bicycle, or drive a Prius. And she's going to take your hamberders away and make you drink soy milk with covfefe.

“Reps. Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) on Thursday said they would vote against the legislation because it increases ICE funding, allows more border fencing and boosting funds for detaining arrested illegal immigrants.”
Haaa Nemui
Hang on. It's a "garbage" bill. Trump turned down a much better bill. It's a victory? Nope... It's a big loss for Trump only now he is trying to take America down with him. Remember yesterday Trump and his supporters, even those on here, saying no emergency declaration is needed because he has other means. Today his signal that he'll declare a national emergency indicates that was all lies too. He has no other means and his supporters don't have a clue.
Turn back from this abyss America.
Blacklabel
Ok to address the “challenge”, we have decided to build a wall. To prevent people from coming here, thereby eliminating the challenges of what to do with people who arrive.
Blacklabel
Income inequality is a national emergency? I can’t wait to see these type of made up things be presented in the Democratic platform and defended in Presidential debates. Dems will never win another election again with these.
David Varnes
Except that the majority of people who support the wall tend to work for TASS or RT.
Survey after survey after survey says the American people DO NOT WANT THE WALL.
PTownsend
I agree with you 100%. The writer of the post you're responding is resorting to the 'keep it simple, just slogans' (e.g. '55 miles of wall', 'big victory', 'give nothing') , approach, knowing that's most effective when trying to appeal to Trump's intellectually vulnerable audience. Posters like that know their propaganda works best when 'reasoning' is kept simple (fewer than 7 words is best), the issue is made to seem polar, and enemies are created and renounced.
Blacklabel
He is getting a wall, sorry to break the news to you.
When a Dem becomes president again you can do anything you like that is similar that the people support.
CrazyJoe
Just remember, MAGA-heads: If this DOES succeed, the next Democratic president can go ahead and circumvent Congress on things like climate change, gun control, campaign finance, voting rights, income inequality, clean air and water...
...you know, ACTUAL national emergencies.
PTownsend
Parroting Trump, actually believing what he says. Trump's aping despots who've been able to convince their followers, most intellectually vulnerable and also fearful of their fellow citizens (look at the private arsenals many Trump backers have because of the number of 'thems' they're afraid of), that the nation's in a state of chaos, and the best way they can be protected is through the actions of a 'strong leader', who just so happens to be from their same demographic.
Trump's a serial mendacimaniac. His 8,000+ (and counting) pinocchios well documented. That a minority of Americans believe him says a lot about Trump's faith based backers, reinforcing the notion that 'Faith based approaches make a virtue of non-thinking'.
Chip Star
You really should look up the definition of "wall" because you are misusing the word. Accuracy continues to elude Trumpophiles.
We remember when Pelosi said she would give nothing for a wall, which she still hasn't. There's that accuracy issue reading its ugly head.
If it's such a big victory for Dumpster Fire Donny, why is he going to attempt to declare a national emergency to get money for his ineffective albatross that only appeals to his low-intelligence supporters?
David Varnes
See ya in court, Donnie. You tend to do about as well there as you do in regular 'negotiations' when you can't just bully the other side. Now that you've found that Congress and the American people are on the other side...
well, as Morgan Freeman said in "The Dark Knight,"... "Good luck."
Serrano
We have a humanitarian crisis here. Tens of thousands of people are being apprehended crossing our southern border every month. Customs and border protection facilities are filled to bursting, there are a lot of unaccompanied children, and the president believes that the best way to deal with that is to build a border barrier. The Dems and RINOS won't properly fund it and that's why he's going to declare a national emergency.
Beanie
The opioid crisis is not an emergency? The number of gun deaths is not an emergency? The astronomical rates of incarceration is not an emergency?
Trump being labelled a loser by Ann Coulter is.
cla68
Democrats caved and gave 55 miles of wall. Remember when Pelosi swore she would give nothing? Big victory for the President.

Trump's not getting his wall. It'll be so much fun watching him and his supporters fume and whine about this!
