If they get sick, hope they don't blame anyone but themselves.

They can take our president, but they won't take our freedumb!

Donnalie Hope, 78, of Petersburg, West Virginia, is planning to make fresh cranberries, mash potatoes and her famous corn pudding for Thanksgiving, which she will spend with her visiting daughter and a neighbor.

That’s basically what me and my family around my local area are doing. There’s just gonna be a few of us, and one close friend that we know and trust. No frills, no one from outside the area. Maybe not the perfect plan, but we will definitely be exercising a lot of caution just like this lady will be.

Stay away from Trump's supporters, wherever they gathered, there is a COVID19 high risk zone! Danger! They rarely wear a facemask!

modern eugenics.

In this time of Corona we have been misled by leaders whose ignorance, incompetence and mendacity have cost the gullible dearly.

Will this be the first year the Darwin Awards are given to an entire Nation?

Millions of U.S. Thanksgiving holiday travelers defy COVID-19 warnings and In Secret, Thousands of Hasidic Jews in NY Crammed Together for a Wedding.

This is why America has 250,000 deaths and Japan has only 2000. It comes down to cultural and self discipline. Both of which are lacking in the west.

There is a certain percentage of Americans - mostly identified by wearing a red MAGA hat and carrying a Confederate flag, that believe a known huckster and con-man when he says "it's all a hoax", "it's just the flu", and "wearing a mask is Anti-American"....

Its best to avoid these folks as they can be considered a walking bio-hazard zone...

So what do you think about those leaders who tell us to do one thing while they do the opposite?

Well, this is just what leaders do: hypocrisy and lawbreaking seldom come with any sanction to deter people in power from acting above the law, which is why I watch my parking meters and don't follow leaders, as history and personal experience counsel.

In this time of Corona we have been misled by mendacious leaders whose ignorance, incompetence and have cost the gullible dearly.

The takeaway is clear: if we don't think for ourselves and follow the science, our foolishness and recklessness may lead to sickness and even death.

'Tis the season for Nobels and Darwin Awards. Amor omnia vincit works for a virus, too, (to spread). And sadly, some who refuse to listen to science so they can celebrate Thanksgiving will get a funeral to follow.

White House still planning holiday parties, despite warnings

https://www.sfgate.com/news/article/White-House-still-planning-holiday-parties-15748550.php

Trump is the 'Chosen One' and he 'beat' the virus, remember? Oh wait, it's a 'hoax'! And they don't care, do you?

He cares only about himself and this is his last shindig before he has to face the music in January. Maybe he wants to take as many down with him as possible. After all, he's repaying his yes-men for their loyalty by firing them.

Their right to have freedom. If the Covid19 freakouts don’t believe other people should have freedom they should immigrant to NK.

Why can’t you see a middle ground? Your viewpoint as expressed here is ridiculous.

What make this article funny is that they made it seem like people were going to listen. Lol. They were going to follow this mandate just as much as they were willing to follow the mask mandate.

They probably think having many lives like in computer games. They haven’t and all those others they set into danger haven’t too. Freedom in their interpretation is only selfish and egocentric, not considering all other people and their freedom. What a shame and how rather stupid those masses are.

Modern Americans seem to lack both the composure to endure the pandemic and the fortitude to defeat it. I suppose they aren't alone in that though, the world is increasingly full of selfish, entitled and ignorant people.

They don't. They are free. You can either fight for your freedom now or cry for what you lost later.

You watch too many movies. Is it worth putting yourself and your loved ones at risk just for a day of turkey and sideslop? With a vaccine around the corner the ball is on the 1 yard line. It's not the time to drop it!

except for reducing transmission from those infected and shedding the virus.

That is exactly what Masks are there for.

Reducing transmission of infections and lower the risk of  infection for the one who wears it.

Of course a mask don't protect you 100%. If it would be like that, than it would be easy to get rid of the virus. Just give everyone a mask and pandemic is finish.

BUT, the mask lowers the risk of spreading the infection or getting infected by at least 90%.

@CS

Is that crying like the ones are that are doing exactly that whilst dying in hospital and still denying that Covid is real?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

As long as they accept the possible consequences

And no whinging! Even when ya can't get a bed in an overfull hospital

One of those possible consequences is another lockdown

'Fox News Sucks' bob, time to move down a rung. Walls are closing in etc.

the sight of Americans enjoying the freedoms they gave up long ago.

Stores getting closed or closing early due to virus spreads

Colleges closing their doors and moving classes online

Sports games getting canceled or limiting attendance

So much freedom to enjoy

These are all collateral consequences when people are spreading the virus

You may not die from the virus, but everything around you gets limited - it's not business as normal

Don't spread the virus - and business will go back to normal faster

Masks don't protect you. They have been now to be to be useless, except for reducing transmission from those infected and shedding the virus.

The only thing that will protect you is staying away from infected people.

Airports, airliners and family gatherings are tempting fate.

Infections and deaths are going to rise from this holiday travel. These people and/or their family and friends will pay the price.

So much freedom to enjoy

European Socialists don't expect the same level of freedoms as many American's do yet somehow they are in the midst's of an equally severe surge in covid infections. How is that possible? All these attacks on freedom loving American's cannot account for the high infection and death rates elsewhere in the world.

That's all fine and dandy if the risk were only to themselves but they are also potentially exposing everyone who works at the airport and for airlines and doesn't have the financial means to say no to the work, not to mention the family that these workers go home to.

These must all be Trump supporters.  Just like the recent spikes are all down to his failed campaign.  And his failure to concede is preventing Joe and team from nipping the virus in the bud.  Like turkeys voting for Thanksgiving.

I think most Americans know that their decisions have consequences and as far as i know Americans they accept those consequences when confronted with them.

that is one of the things one must admire in Americans while, like all off us, they have their weak points.

But they face things head on.

GoTo also in in the US...

No problem...wear masks and keep social distance as much as possible and you are fine.

Enjoy your thanks giving!

If theres one thing that just enrages a Euro, its the sight of Americans enjoying the freedoms they gave up long ago.

The pure hatred the usual suspects have for anything American is matched only by their incredible stupidity in assuming all 50 million travelers voted for Orange Man Bad.

I get your point, and mainly agree with you. The problem is that "the science" is not one big blob of consensus. Governments are trotting out scientists who agree with the lockdown/restriction & vaccine approach while ignoring or demonising the advice of qualified experts who recommend different approaches with the help of their media attack dogs. At the same time as governments (politicians, bureaucrats, etc.) are telling us to follow their experts, they're flouting that advice, sometimes publicly, sometimes privately. This suggests the crisis to being exaggerated for political reasons, and has little to do with public health.

More and more people are realising this and giving them the middle finger, evidenced by the mass movement of people in the US and the protests in Europe, which the mainstream media are intentionally under-reporting and /or demonising.
